*(Y/N)'s POV*
Location: Haneoka High School, Class 2-A
Yawn...
It's so boring today.
What're we learning today, even?
About some guy going on some adventure... it's bizarre, to say the least. And what's this about walking like an Egyptian? Egypt? How long have I been asleep? Last time I checked, we were learning about bushido samurai!
...And we're barely 10 minutes into class. Uhh.
I can't do this today. It's a lazy Monday.
I asked to use the restroom, and used that opportunity to sneak away and ditch class.
The only place the teachers don't go...
...The school rooftop.

Location: School Rooftop
Hmm? Some girl is up here already.
Dang it, my solitude moment is ruined!
...Huh? She doesn't even notice me.
Her hair is blowing softly in the wind.
From time to time, she brushes the hair to the side.
Her hair is short and black. She's not facing me, so I can't see her face.
After a bit, she turned around.
"Eek!" she squealed.
Whoa, she's really, really cute.
I also noticed she has a red streak on her hair.
Her face expression went back to an upset look, then turned back around.
Awkward...
I walked next to her and looked out in the distance.
"Long Monday," I said, startling her again.
"Uhh, yeah," she agreed, still not looking my direction. "Sorry, but I'm a bit occupied."
*Ran's POV*
Who is this guy?
I think he's in my class.
I don't have any time for him right now.
I reached in my backpack and pulled out my notebook.
Some lyrics are coming to mind again.
The boy next to me tried to look at my notebook, but I moved away a bit.
"Erm... Do you need something?" I told him.
"Sorry, nothing," he said.
Suddenly, another person arrived at the rooftop.
"Ran?" the girl said. From the sound of her voice, it's Moca.
She noticed me and laughed.
"Ha ha. Ran's ditching again... And I see (Y/N) there too!"
(Y/N)? Is that his name? Moca knows him?
"Oh, Moca-chan! I just didn't feel like going to class today," (Y/N) said.
"Sounds just like Ran over there," Moca replied. "Do you know Ran?"
"No, I don't," (Y/N) said.
"You know me, the great Moca, but not Ran? How interesting..." Moca laughed again.
"Moca, why are you here?" I asked her.
"Ahh, I just wanted to see where Ran went. We're all in the same class, after all."
"Wait, Ran over here is in our class?!" (Y/N) seemed surprised.
"Yeah," Moca said. "But she always ditches. Ran's a bad, bad girl."
"Moca, stop it. Could you guys... leave now?" I asked them.
"Okay, okay..." Moca said. "C'mon, (Y/N). Let's get back to class. We can all talk later."
The two of them left back to class.

*(Y/N)'s POV*
Location: Class 2-A
I can't stop thinking of that girl, Ran...
Her eyes told a story in of themselves...
Not entirely lonely eyes, but eyes of a girl whose inner fire burns incredibly hot...
Still much more to unravel, I know it.
How will I talk to her?
Ask Moca-chan? No. Too obvious.
The chance will come to me eventually. I know it.
"Oh, before class ends," the teacher spoke up. "I am planning a field trip to Shibuya Station."
Shibuya?
That isn't terribly far. It's still in the Kanto region, so it could even be a single day trip...
"Ooh," Moca-chan said aloud. "Will there be free lunch?"
"Yes, Aoba-san. It's for our next lesson on loyalty in society."
"Then count me in!" Moca-chan excitedly said.
A few of the students laughed, including Udagawa-san, Hazawa-san, and Uehara-chan.
"Well, we have one," the teacher added. "We leave on Friday! So get the permission slips in immediately!"
She passed out permission slips to the class. I took two, one for Ran.
This could be the perfect opportunity to talk to Ran, since I never see her in class, during lunch, or even after school.
Wait, then how will I get this slip to her?
Well, I guess I'll rush over to the rooftop as soon as class ends.

As the bell rang, I rushed to the rooftop, where Ran still was, luckily. I was half expecting not to see her here. I guess I worried for nothing.
Location: School Rooftop
"You again?" she said. "(Y/N), right?"
"Right! Here, take this permission slip." I handed the paper to her.
"What's this...? A field trip to... Shibuya Station on Friday?"
"Yep. For a lesson on loyalty," I said.
"Loyalty? Hmph. Sorry, but no." Ran handed back the permission slip.
"Moca-chan's going," I added.
"Okay, and?"
Ack! How do I respond to that?!
I should be up-front with Ran. What could possibly go wrong?
"Ran..." I began. "I really want to get closer to you. That's why I want you to go."
*Ran's POV*
This guy certainly is odd.
He wants me to go... just to talk to me?
Why should I agree?
Well, Moca is his friend...
She seems to like him. Although Moca gets along with a lot of people...
I can see he's telling the truth, though. It's the way he looks.
He sounds honest. I guese I can trust him...
I smiled at him.
"Sure. I'll go. We can talk if you want."
(Y/N) jumped up.
"Yay! Thanks, Ran! You're the best!"
I blushed. "B-but don't take it the wrong way!"
"Of course, of course," (Y/N) said. "I need to get to class. Want to come?"
"Yeah. Let's go to class together," I replied, walking off the rooftop with (Y/N).
