Description: Latrelle rolls up on you and Cesar.

I grabbed three energy drinks from the fridge and made my way to the counter.
"Hey y/n" the cashier smiled at me as he took the drink and scanned it placing it back on the side. "Your out late"
"Yeah I've got an exam tomorrow so I'm trying to revise and I ran out of energy drinks" I smiled as I handed the money over, he took it and put it into a till.
"You know a good amount of sleep helps with exams right" he placed the drinks into a bag and handed it to me.
"Yes dad" I joked the cashier laughed as I took the bag off the counter. "See you tomorrow" I walked over to the door.
"Be safe okay, these gangs are wild" the seriousness evident in his voice, I just nodded. The whole thing was ironic considering who I was dating, Cesar Diaz. Cesar was part of the Santos, he's brother pretty much ran the Santos. I walked out the shop and down the street, it was dark, the street lamps only offered enough light to see, you couldn't help but be on edge. I pulled my phone out and slipped my earphones in trying to ease my nerves, I then carried on my walk. As I rounded a corner I felt someone grab my arm, I quickly turned preparing to hit whoever had grabbed me.
"It's only me" my boyfriend laughed stopping me from hitting him.
"Your a jackass" I crossed my arms.
"What are you doing out so late?" Cesar questioned, I rolled my eyes as I opened the bag and pulling one of the drinks out, Cesar laughed shaking his head.
"You know there no good for you right?" I glared at the boy.
"There nice" I opened the can and took a drink as Cesar shook his head.
"I wonder if there's a place we could send you for your addiction to energy drinks" a smile on his face.
"you'd miss me too much" I laughed Cesar joined in.
"That's very true"
"Aye yo!" I turned to see Latrelle pulling up to the side of us, I rolled my eyes as I turned to face him. I looked from him to Cesar, he was no longer laughing but pissed, Cesar was a Santo while Latrelle was a prophet, they'd never get along. "It's y/n right?" Latrelle looked me up and down, I couldn't help but wrap my arms around myself, the way he was looking at me made me uncomfortable. I didn't reply. "Aye I'm talking to you!"
"Who do you think your talking to?" Cesar took a step forward, I quickly placed my hand out stopping him from taking anymore steps.
"Letting this Santo talk for you?" The boy questioned with a smile, he was looking for trouble.
"Just leave it will you" I said only loud enough for Cesar to hear, he looked from me to Latrelle, I knew he was too riled up to just let this go.
"You think this guys a real man? you should stop by mine sometime then you'll now what a real man is" Cesar scoffed the anger growing.
"Did you forget that your on Santos territory" Cesar pushed forward.
"Cesar don't" I grabbed onto his arm he carried on walking forward, that was until he just stopped dead in his tracks, he quickly pushed me behind him trying to block my view but I could still see, Latrelle sat in the car with a gun pointed out at me and Cesar. My heart dropped, I felt like I couldn't breath, my eyes started to glass over, fear taking over.
"She ain't even worth it" Latrelle looked passed Cesar to me, I didn't want to meet his gaze. "You better just watch out next time" Latrelle put the gun down then turned to the driver signalling to pull off. We stood watching as the car drove away, Cesar still stood in front of me protectively.
"You okay" Cesar quickly turned to look at me concern on his face. I didn't know what to say, I didn't know if I was okay, I heard about kids being pulled up on didn't think I'd actually be one. "Come here" Cesar pulled me into a hug running his hand up and down my back. "Come on" Cesar pulled away taking my hand into his.
"Where are we going" I finally found my voice, the nerves evident.
"Back to mine" he smiled, I didn't feel likely arguing, i knew it was probably the safest place at the moment.
We made our way down the street, Cesar was on high alert, every noise he turned to see what it was. We finally made it to the Diaz household, as usual there was a bunch of Santos sat out the front. As we walked down the path to the house they gave us looks but didn't say anything.
"Where's Spooky?" Cesar asked one of the older Santos.
"Inside" the guy raised his beer up and took a drink. Cesar nodded and pulled me with him as he walked to the front door and unlocking it.
"Why don't you go to my room I've got to speak to Oscar" I looked from him to his bedroom door, Cesar placed his hands on my face and forced me to look at him. "I promise you'll be okay. No-one can hurt you here" I nodded, Cesar placed a kiss on my forehead before he turned and walked to one of the other room. I took a deep breath and made my way to Cesar's room. I pushed the door open turning the light on as quickly as possible, there was no one in here, I mean I expected that but I couldn't help but be paranoid. I walked in shutting the door and walking over to Cesar's bed placing the bag down and pulling my phone out and messaging my mom.

I'm staying at
Monse's tonight
I lied, my mom didn't mind Cesar but she told me I'm not allowed to stay at his or even go to his house because it was dangerous, at the moment it was the safest place. I sent Monse a quick message saying I was using her as cover for my mom, she asked why. I didn't want to tell her the whole story because she'd Monse out, so I sent a lie to her. I placed my phone on the bed stand as I heard the door open, I quickly turned to see Cesar walking in.
"It's just me" he smiled to reassure me.
"What did Oscar say?" I asked as Cesar walked over to the bed and sitting down.
"Nothing you need to worry about"
"Cesar" he didn't say anything, silence fell over the room. After a few more seconds Cesar started to move over to the empty space on the bed lying down.
"Come lie down" he smiled at me.
"Seriously? We need to talk about this"
"And we will just come lie down" I rolled my eyes but kicked my shoes off before lying next to him. Without saying anything Cesar pulled me into him wrapping his arms around me.
"I promise you y/n no one will hurt you" Cesar looked at me. "I swear on everything I love, no harm will come to you. Whether that be from Latrelle or any other asshole" Cesar leant forward resting his head against mine. "You know I mean that right?"
"I know you" I smiled.
"I love you" again Cesar kissed my forehead.
"I love you" Cesar smiled at me as he started to mess with my hair.
"Now why don't you try to get some sleep, I promise this will be sorted out" he carried on playing with my hair, I don't know what he meant by that, I'm not sure if I wanted to know.

Also I feel like this is really short but it's like over 1000 words, but I think it's because I've been writing ones that have been hitting like 4000 words so now it's like this is short it needs more when in reality more can make it worse. 😂
