So I was really upset about how the last chapter came out. I really didn't like it, but I've tried over and over and over again to get it right. That was the best that I had. I know it's not the best, but thanks for reading! Anyways back to the story! (: Please Enjoy (:
Today was the day. It was finally the day to perform the play. I was nervous as hell but very excited at the same time. I wasn't going to let anything ruin my mood today. I wasn't going to let the text from last night ruin what should be a special day.
I got up bright and early and had breakfast with my mom. She greeted me when I came down stairs, still in my pajamas. She had a big breakfast spread out all over the table. Pancakes, bacon, toast, orange juice, muffins, and a whole bunch of other things filled my senses. My mouth watered at the sight of it all.
"Thanks mom," I chirped and skipped to sit down. I looked at all the food, I was damn hungry, but this was a lot of food. "Don't you think this is a lot of food though?" I asked. She winked at me and gave me a sly smile. I looked at her confused until I heard shouting.
"Congratulations Abby!" I heard my friends shout. I looked at them, surprise was sure as hell evident on my face. They all grinned at me. Sage held up a huge gift bag and ran to grab me in a hug. I hugged her back and smiled. The rest of my friends all smiled and hugged me. They each gave me a present.
"What's all this for?" I asked. Seb handed me my plate, which was stuffed with extra bacon, since I was craving it.
"Well it's a little celebration for all the hard work you have been through," Kate replied. She smiled and sat down across from me. Carlo sat down next to Kate and put his arm around her.
"But all of you guys have worked hard," I said. "This should be for you too." Sage shook her head.
"Nope," she said popping the 'p.' "This is all for you!" Everybody sat down and had a nice peacful breakfast. Once we were done, Sage, Hanna, Kate, and Sarah had me open the presents they got me. I grumbled but opened them. Sarah got me three new scarfs and a pair of earrings to go with each one. I thanked her and hugged her. Sage and Vince got me a huge teddy bear, a card, and a whole outfit. The outfit was for tonight when we go out. It was beautiful. I loved her taste in dresses. It was a nice strapless cream colored dress. They gave me a necklace, a pair of earrings, a bracelet, and even a new pair of heels to go with it. Carlo and Kate gave me a gift card to Starbucks and Forever 21. I thanked everybody for the generous gifts. I loved them all.
"I'll give you your gift later," Seb whispered into my ear. I smiled, kissed him and nodded. I got dressed after that. I put on my dark Levi's skinny jeans, my white off the shoulder top. It had 'Paris' written across it with a picture of the Eiffel Tower on it. I put on my black ankle boots with it and let my hair down in small loose curls. I put on minimal make-up and headed out. Seb was already inside the car when I got there.
Instead of driving towards school, Seb drove in the other direction. I gave him a confused look. He shrugged and winked at me. We drove unitl the sights were becoming familiar. I rolled down the window and let the sea salt air fan my face. Seb parked in the same spot he did when he took me on our first date. He got out and opened my door for me. He held out his hand and I took it. He smiled softly at me and led me a little close to the edge. He went behind me and put his arms around me and his head on my shoulder. I sighed and melted against him. We just stared out into the ocean. The waves crashed against the rocks and the seagulls flew over the ocean. The sun shined onto the ocean which gave the water a light blue color. It was a beautiful sight to see.
"Abby?" I heard Seb's voice ask.
"Yeah."
"You know I love you, right?" He asked. I looked up at him.
"Yes, I do. You know I love you, right?" He nodded and pecked my lips. I smiled at him. "Why did you bring me here?" I asked.
"I wanted to give you your gift," he said softly.
"What is it?" I asked. He let go of me and stood in front of me instead. He pecked my lips one more time.
"I love you," he said. I smiled at him. Then he got on one knee and took my hands in his. My eyes widened at what was happening. Seb looked up at me and I saw so much love in his eyes, it made me smile. "Abby, from the first time I met you, I fell in love with you. You're the best thing that has happened to me and I'm glad you're in my life. You're my best friend and my beautiful girlfriend. The time we spent together has been amazing." Tears gathered in my eyes. "I want you to know that I will love you forever. I will love our child forever," he said. He took out a little black box from his pocket and opened it. Inside was a beautiful diamond ring. It had a beautiful light blue diamond in the middle. It reminded me of the color of Seb's eyes. All around the ring, little diamonds were going around it. It was a beautiful, breathtaking ring.
"Seb.." I mumbled. "It's beautiful." He smiled softly at me.
"This isn't an engagement ring," Seb said. "It's a promise ring." He looked into my eyes when he spoke, "I promise to love you and our child forever Abby. I promise to never let you go or hurt you. I promise to stay by your side no matter what happens." A tear leaked out of my eye. "Will you accept this promise?" I nodded and he put the ring on my finger. He got up and hugged me. He twirled me around and put me down. He kissed me until I was breathless and then kissed my tummy.
"I love you Seb," I said. I meant it. I meant every word I said.
"And I love you Abby," he said before kissing me again. We left to school soon after that. Of course we were late. Today we would have an early day, since the play was tonight. During my first few classes, Sarah kept bugging me. She kept asking questions about the ring, and I told her that I'd explain later. She wasn't satisfied but hushed after that. Lunch came by quick. Nathan sat with us during lunch. We all kept talking about the play and how nervous we were. Sage would be throwing the after party. She said she wanted to have a party as a celebration on how hard everybody has worked for the play.
"Soo Abby," Sarah piped up. I shot her a glare, clearly telling her to shut up. She stuck out her tounge like a child and went on. "What's the ring for?" Instantly all heads shot towards me and all eyes landed on my ring. I shifted uncomfortabley in my seat and felt Seb's hand give mine a gentle squeeze. I shot him a grateful smile.
"Yeah, I was wondering the same thing," Hanna said.
"It's just a present I got for her," Seb explained. "I saw it and I thought it would be something she'd like."
"Awww!" Sage squealed. She clapped her hands together and stomped her feet. We all look at her, wide eyed. She looked at us and gave us a sheepish smile. "Sorry, but that's too cute!"
"That is so adorable," Hanna cooed. "Can I see it?" Hanna didn't give me a chance to answer before she grabbed my hand and exmanined the ring. Sage, who was right next to her, also looked at the ring.
"Umm, not to be a buzz kill or anything," Kate piped up. "It's really sweet of you to get her that Seb, but why is it on the finger that should have an engagement ring?" All eyes looked between me and Seb. I paled.
"I put it there," Seb said.
"But why?" Kate pressed. I inwardly groaned.
"Guess I was really excited that I just put it on that finger," Seb explained giving them a sheepish smile. I retracted my hand and slid the ring off to my other finger.
"Happy?" I asked sarcastically.
"Hey, I was just asking," Kate said, putting up her hands.
"You're whipped bro," Chuck said patting Seb on the back.
"Shut up!" Seb said. "You guys will get there."
"Hell no!" Chuck, Carlo, and Vince all said. Sage, Kate, and Hanna all glared at them.
"What's so wrong with that?" Hanna asked.
"Yeah Vince," Sage said.
"N-nothing," Vince said. "You know I love you."
"Uh-huh sure," Sage said. All the guys turned and glared at Seb.
"Serves you right," I said. "That's what you get for teasing Seb."
Lunch continued with the guys getting scolded. Seb, Nathan, Sarah, and I all sat and watched them. We all laughed at the guys and how they tried to apologize to the girls. Lunch ended soon and we all headed to class. Gym was next for me. Great, ever since I found out about the pregnancy, I've had to be extra careful with myself. Today we were playing basketball. Okay, I think I could handle that, I thought to myself.
Our teacher split us up and teams. As usual, I got the girls with me. We were against Tracey, Nathan, and other people we knew. We shook hands and started the game. The game started off easy until it got really competitive. So far, our team was ahead. The other team didn't like that very much. Every chance they got, they would push us. Tracey would just stand there and do nothing. Though, I didn't blame her, she couldn't play a sport if her life depended on it. Nathan seemed to like pushing a little too. As a kid, he would always be competitive.
Kate had the ball, who tossed it to Henry, who tossed it to me. I got the ball and dribbled it to make a shot. Just as I jumped up to make a shot, I felt myself being pushed forward. I instantly panicked. My hand went to my stomach and I closed my eyes waitng for the hard ground that I would soon be laying on. Instead I felt arms wrap around me and catch my fall. I opened my eyes to see Henry holding me.
"Are you okay Abby?" He asked. I nodded, still a little shaken up. He helped stand up straight, but he still didn't let go. When he did, I almost fell again. Thankfully Henry was quick and caught me. I smiled at him, grateful that he caught me. Soon our gym teacher came and sorted out the problem. She let me sit for the rest of the game. The girls shot me worried glances, but I held up my thumb, indicating that I was fine. And I was. The only thing I really cared about was my baby. I put my hand on my stomach and closed my eyes. That was so close. So damn close.
Gym finally ended and I gratefully headed torwards my class with Seb. Once I was there, I told him what happened. He kept asking me questions, asking if I was fine, if I needed anything, or if I felt sick. Bless him, he was so concerned. I loved that about him. I told him I was fine and that Henry had caught me. I made a mental note of thanking Henry later on.
When school finally ended, I was relieved. We were to report to the auditorium, get the information we needed, and then head off home to get some rest for the big night. Mrs.Hart was smiling so much, I'm surprised her face hadn't gotten stuck that way. She got on the stage and started speaking once we were all hear.
"I would like to congratulate everybody! You all have done such a fantastic job preparing for the play tonight. I am so proud of each and every one of you. Over the past few months, I've seen you grow into a wonderful actor and actress. You all should be proud of yourselves. I want to thank one very special person. This person has worked hard and she's been through a lot, yet she still did what she needed to do. She didn't give up. Now if you would all give a round of applaused to Abagail Gold!" My head shot up so fast, I'm surprised I didn't get whiplash. "Come up here dear." I stood up and awkwardly made my way to the stage. Everybody was clapping and my friends were still cheering, which made my cheek tinge pink. "I would like you to say a few words to everyone," Mrs.Hart said. She handed the microphone over to me and left the stage.
"Umm..." I began. Nice way to begin Abby. "I would like to say that I'm proud of all of you. You've all worked hard and considering what's been going on, that really does say something. We worked hard for this night and now it's time to for it to pay off," I said. I looked at everybody and they all stared back at me. "Make this night for what it's worth. I know all of you will do a great job. I believe in all of you." I had one more thing to say before I left this stage. "Recently we lost somebody that was part of this play. He was a fantastic and upbeat person. I know he's gone now," I paused. I choked a little and felt tears at the rim of my eyes. I continued, "I would like to dedicate tonight's performance to Ryan Sorter. He was a great friend, performer, and brother. He will always be in our heart. Hopefully when we perform tonight, we dedicate this to him." Tears spilled out of my eyes. "I love you Ryan and may you rest in peace." With those final words said, I left the stage.
We got the rest of the information we needed and headed home. My mom and dad greeted me. I smiled at them and ran into my dad's arms.
"Hey kiddo!" He exclaimed. He hugged me tighter. "How've you been?" He asked, once he let me go.
"I've been good," I replied.
"Are you excited for tonight?" He asked. I nodded my head and drew in a breath.
"Excited, but nervous," I said. I stood quiet for a moment before speaking. "I dedicated the performance to Ryan."
"You did?" My parents asked. I nodded.
"It's the least we could do," I said. "I miss him so much. Everyday seems to get harder and harder. He was my brother." My dad scopped me up into his arms and held me tight.
"It's okay kiddo. Things will get better," he said. I looked at him.
"Promise?" I asked, sniffling a bit.
"Promise," my mom and dad said. I smiled at them. I missed us being a family.

It was finally time. The time had finally come for us to perform. The butterflies that were in the pit of my stomach were going crazy. I was nervous and excited. Seb stood by my side and comforted me.
"You're going to fine Abby," he said. I looked into his eyes and nodded. "You're going to be amazing." I hugged him and kissed his lips.
"You are too," I said once we pulled away. I was wearing the ring that he had gave me. I didn't want to take it off. It already meant to much to me. The play started soon after that. I once again announced that we were dedicating the performance to Ryan. Everybody cheered and now it was time. The first scene came on and so on. When I went out, the nerves went away and I went straight into my character. I felt so calm and relaxed.
The play was going great. It was not Act II. We all changed into our costumes and started the to perform again. When Nathan and I kissed, I didn't feel nervous. I did it and got it over with. I smiled at Seb and he smiled back at me. There was no need for us to be upset over the kiss. We loved each other to much to let that ruin what we had. Nathan and I performed perfectly. I was really proud of our performances. Everybody else did such a great job as well.
It was now the final scene, where Juliet, myself, kills herself. The music that we had chosen for the play, played softly in the background. I said my lines, without messing up and grabbed Romeo's knife. Just as I was supposed to stab myself, the lights started flickering off and on. Instantly the whole audience looked around. Mrs.Hart made her way to the stage and was about to speak, but a voice I recognized so much spoke before she could utter a word out. Seb and Sarah were instantly by my side. Everybody from the play stayed back and looked scared.
"I told you what would happen Abagail," the voice taunted. "I think I should be the one to plunge the knife into you. I told you what would happen if you didn't follow my orders. You were doing so good too. But then he came back in your life." Chills went up and down my spine. I clasped down my hand onto Seb's. I was scared. Seb felt me shake and pulled me behind him. "I'll get you Abagail. You're mine. Nobody else's but mine." Suddenly the lights stopped flickering. Nobody moved a muscle. Everybody stood still, as if moving will set off a bomb. I looked into Seb's eyes as tears gathered in mine. The doors slamming open had everybody jumping. The first person I spotted was Gale. More and more cops poured in.
"Everybody needs to get out and stay calm! Please exit the building now!"Gale shouted this over and over again. Seb grabbed onto my hand and dragged me with him. Everybody was almost out. I got off the stage, but before I could take another step my attacker blocked our way. I screamed. Gale rushed towards us but was shot.
"Gale!!" Seb and I shouted. Tears were already pouring out of my eyes.
"Get out of here!" Gale shouted. "Now!" Seb didn't waste a second. He grabbed onto my hand and I grabbed onto Sarah's/. We ran. We ran like hell. I heard gun shots, which caused me and Sarah to scream.
"Run!" Seb ordered. My attacker jumped in front of us, causing all of us to stop. He took a step forward but Seb knocked him down. "Run!" Seb shouted again. Seb punched my attacker again and shouted for us to run again.
"No!" I yelled.
"Get her out of here Sarah!" Seb yelled.
"But Seb!" Sarah shouted.
"No! She's pregnant! Get her out!" Sarah grabbed onto my hand and dragged me with her. We found an empty classroom and hid in there.
"Seb!" I yelled. Sarah covered my mouth and told me to take calm breaths.
"Abby you need to stay quiet, you have to be quiet," Sarah repeated over and over again. I nodded. I calmed down but my mind was still thinking about how I left Seb so easily. "You're pregnant?" Sarah asked. I nodded. Tears came to her eyes. She hugged me to her and whispered, "We're going to make out of here."
"We will," I whispered, trying to not only reassure Sarah, but myself included. "Seb though.."
"Shh, don't," Sarah began. "Don't think nega-" Sarah stopped. The lights from the school had shut off. Everything was super quiet. Sarah held up a finger to her lips. We sat there quietly and listened for anything. We were about to breath a sigh of relief when we heard footsteps. I instantly tensed up. My heart race picked up and the palm of my hands became sweaty. When we heard the footsteps pass by the classroom, we breathed a sigh of relief. All too soon, our relief was short lived. The door burst open causing us to scream. The attacker headed towards me but Sarah blocked him. "Run!" She shouted. I shook my head. "Abby go! Now!" Tears came out of my eyes. "NOW!" I ran. I felt like shit for running. I just had to remind myself that this was for my baby. So I did the one thing I was so used to doing, running. I ran.
I ran and ran until I couldn't breathe any longer. I was scared and was freaking out, my heart pounding in my chest. I was afraid he would hear me so I took calm breaths and counted them just like Nathan told me to, before I lost him. I swear everything happened in a blur. I was worried about stupid things like rather I'd do good in the play or what I was wearing to the after party. But now I realized I had a bigger thing to worry about... my life.
Not only my life though, but my baby's life. I ran into a dead end and turned back around but my attacker was already there. My heart was racing a million miles per hour. My sweaty palms began to shake. I held onto my stomach and did the one thing I was so used to doing. I cried. I cried for my baby's life. My attacker came towards me. I tried to make a dash for it but he caught me. A white handkerchief came over my mouth and soon blackness was the only thing I saw.
