"I'VE missed this view." I whispered on the air.
I am in the veranda of my room and I could see the houses from here.
But I wasn't that satisfy unlike before. This place was so different from the place that I have been on his province. I could see the lights coming from the city lights a meter away from here
"Hey."
Mabilis akong luminggon at hindi ipinahalata ang gulat na aking naramdaman.
"Kakain na daw. Di ka pa bababa?" He asks.
I rolled my eyes.
"Okay ka lang ba?" Tanong nya at saka ako tinabihan sa pagkakatayo sa veranda. Umusog ako na para bang pinahihiwatig ko na ayokong lumapit sakanya.
He look at me, I could see it from my peripheral vision.
"Sorry." He said.
I look at him to find the sincerity and I can sense that. "Bakit ka nag-sosorry?" Tinaasan ko sya ng kilay.
"Galit ka ba sa sinabi ko kanina? I did it for a purpose." He said
"For a purpose? Baka for your purpose?" I scoff
I heard him sighed. "Sinabi ko iyon para maka-balik ka pa saamin. Gusto kitang ibalik sa probinsya, Ace. Gusto kong naroon ka, kasama ako." He said
And my heart melted away. I could feel how sincere he was in every word that he keep saying
"Hindi ka ngumiti kanina!" Sabi ko.
Naiinis ako, hindi ko na napigilan ang sarili ko na sabihin ang nasa isip ko.
He smiled like he was happy seeing me being mad because of the reason that he didn't smile back.
"Baka makahalata sila." He answered and smile
"Wag kang ngumiti. Naiirita ako!" I hissed but he keep smiling from ear to ear.
"Ayoko lang masyadong ngumiti dahil baka mas lalo kang ma-inlove saakin." He said
I laughed. "Hindi kaya! Itsura mo! Tigilan mo ako. Naiinis pa din ako!" I hissrd at him.
"Masaya ka ba na makita sila ulit?" He asks
Tumango naman ako. "Namiss ko sila e." Sagot ko.
"Namiss ka din nila." He said like he was so sure about that.
"Ano iyong pinag-usapan nyo ni Dad kanina?" I asks in curiousity.
Baka pinag-usapan nila na hindi na ako babalik ng probinsya dahil wala rin naman akong natutunan. Gusto ko pang bumalik sa probinsya ni Ram. Gusto ko pa syang makasama ng matagal.
"Nangamusta lang." He said
I wasn't convinced. "Hindi totoo. Sinabi ba ni Dad na hindi na ako babalik sainyo?" I asks
"Hindi. " he answered.
"So? Babalik pa ako sayo? I mean sa probinsya mo?" I ask
He smiled and nod. "Ibabalik pa kita samin. Babalik pa tayo. Babalik ka pa." He answered.
I smiled back. I remain looking on the dark night when he speaks. "Isang linggo lang tayo dito." He said
"So one week tayong hindi magpapansinan?" Malungkot kong tanong.
He chuckled. "Hindi nga kita matiis e." He smiled at he constantly moving his eyebrows up and down.
I punch him on his shoulder when I heard mom speak behind.
"Akala ko kung ano na ang nangyari, kumain na tayo." Mom said.
Mabilis ko syang pinag hahampas.
"W-Walang hiya ka. Iyung ipis hindi mo napatay!" I yelled at continue punching him.
"Tama na yan, Ace. Bumaba na kayo at kakain na." Mom said and left my room.
Sabay kaming nagkatingginan ni Ram.
"Ano yon?" He asks
"An alibi! Tsk. Lawyer pero di alam lumusot." I whispered and walk downstairs.
He was on my back and he was walking slowly like he doesn't like the idea that we're both walking downstairs together. He's a great actor afterall.
I sit on my seat and my vision was full of different food.
I've missed this kind of food.
We starts eating and I am not surprise when Ram was eating with us too. He's like a family for my Dad. Well, for me he was. Wala namang masama kung kasabay kumain nila mom at dad ang future son-in-law nila.
"Bakit ka nakangiti?" Dad asks as he recognize that I was smiling. I look at Ram but he immidiately divert his gaze.
"A-ang sarap po kasi ng pagkain. Namiss ko lang, Dad." Sagot ko.
The dinner went well aside from when my mom asks Ram who was the man that I am dating. I expected him to choke or do some horrible things but he's so calm. He's been good in pretending no wonder he can be good in his chosen field. A lawyer, the most liar human in the whole world.
It's passed nine o' clock and I am currently lying on my bed. I feel this soft bed.
I heard a knock from the outside of my door and I open it with a smile. Well, I am expecting him to come.
"Ahmn. Baka gusto mo." And there he was holding a bottle of coconut drink.
"Thanks." I said and smiled
"Pasok ka?"
"Di na. Kumatok lang ako para ibigay yan. Good night, Ace. Sweet dreams." He said and smile after. I nod as an answer. I want him to stay but I don't know what to say.
He move back and he turn around. I don't know what's into me because I grab his shirt from his back. He was slowly looking to my hand that I am holding and then he look at me. I tiptoed and kiss him on his lips. It was a smack and yet I feel that he froze.
"G-Good night. Rambiboy." I said and closed the door and lock it.
My heart wasn't normally beating. Gosh, it was just a plain kiss and yet my heart was racing like this.
I saw myself in the mirror, I am so red. My cheek was blushing-- no! My face were blushing!
And just like that,it took me eleven o' clock thinking about him.
"REALLY?" I act so surprised.
"Yes, sweetie. So pack your things and let's go and swim." Mom said.
My lips automatically formed a smile. I can't count the years when we last time did this.
I wish, kuya was here to be with us today, but it seems like he was so busy with his wife.
I immidiately pack my things.
"Maisusuot na din kita." I said on the two piece that I am holding. I bought it months ago and I haven't wear it due of my sudden vacation.
"Let's go?" Mom ask.
I didn't ask mom why there's a sudden swimming like this. Ine-expect ko kasi na hindi ko sila gaanong makakasama o makaka-usap dahil alam ko na masyado ng magiging komplikado ang candidacy ni Dad. I hate politics before and I still hate it today.
"You're coming with us?" Maligalig kong tanong ng makita ko si Ram na may dalang basket ng mga pagkain.
He look on his both side like he was checking something. He faced me and nod as an answer. Umirap ako sa pagiging cold nya.
"Tara na." Mom said and she walk towards the van.
I thought it will be a family day but Dad is not with us. Hindi na rin ako nagtanong pa dahil alam ko naman ang isasagot nya. Inaasikaso ang nalalapit na botohan.
All my life I didn't compete with anyone to get my parents attention. Kuya didn't treat me as his competitors. Pero hindi ko inaasahan na ang magiging ka-kompetensya ko pala ay ang politika.
Tahimik lang ako sa buong byahe. Na walan din ako ng sa mood dahil sa inakto ni Ram kanina. Para kasing hindi nya ako kilala kong tignan nya ako-- cut that, hindi nga nya ako tinitignan. Pag nagtatanong ako ay tipid na tipid lang ang sagot nya.
Okay fine! Kung gusto nyang umakto na para bang isa lamang syang bodyguard at hindi ko boyfriend edi okay! Bahala sya sa buhay nya.
We took an hour before we reach the beach.
"Oh my. It's so pretty." I mumbled once I saw the blue ocean together with the with sand.
Mom took care of everything and they was there on the cottage grilling some barbeque.
I immidiately went to the rental suit and change clothes into a white two-piece.
I smiled when I saw my reflection in the mirror.
Lumabas ako at nagtungo muna sa cottage. Ram's eyes met mine. I ignore him like I didn't know him.
"Mom, swimming muna ako." Paalam ko sakanya. Mom nod and continue what she's doing.
I walk towards the water and I feel so alive once my feet reach the cold water of the ocean.
"Oh gosh, look father! I collected so many clams." The girl shouted and smiled.
I smiled because I could feel the love and happiness in her face. I swam deep in the ocean.
"Fuck!" I yelled.
Pinulikat ang aking mga paa at hindi ko iyon maigalaw. Mabuti at wala na ako sa malalim na parte ng dagat. The wated only reach my chest.
"You okay miss?" I look to the man who's speaking.
"No. I need help. " sagot ko kaagad
This man was the father of a kid earlier. Kung hindi ako nagkakamali ay three years old palang ang bata. And this man looks young.
"Sure. What kind of help?" He asks and smile.
"I can't move my feet, ahh!" I suddenly feel the pain again.
I was so shock when he carry me out of the water. All I could do is to place my hand on his nape so that I am sure that I wouldn't fall.
"Sorry, I guess I am heavy--" I retorted
I heard him chuckled. "Di naman. Okay lang." He answered.
"Luh? Nagtatagalog ka naman pala e." I said
"Pure Filipino ako." He said
"Di halata. Akala ko foreigner ka." I answered which is true.
"Well my grandparents were half foreigner. Baka one fourth foreigner ako. Hahaha" he laughed.
"What's your name sir?" I asks in curiousity.
"Jelo. Call me jelo." He answered.
"Ace pangalan ko, inunahan na kita mukhang wala kang balak itanong e." I laughed.
Oh gosh, am I being aggressive?
He has a body of a foreigner. He was so masculine and I could feel it because of his arms around me.
"Doon nalang." Tinuro ko ang cottage namin. Kaagad kong nakita ang pagtinggin ni mommy sa direksyon namin.
"Oh my! Anong nangyari?" Mom asks and run towards our place.
"Paki-baba nalang sya dito." Mom said to the man.
"Ouch." I groaned.
Nahagip ng mata ko si Ram. He looks so pissed. Bakit? Nagagalit ba sya? O nagseselos? Finally nakita ko rin na boyfriend ko pala sya. Muntik ko ng makalimutan.
"Let me. I can do it." Jelo bent down and he was massaging my foot.
"Ako na. " Ram said and he also lean down.
"Di ka naman marunong Ram e. Hayaan mo na si--" mom said
"Jelo ma. Jelo pangalan nya." I answered.
"Oh jelo!" Mom exclaimed.
"Oh shit." I groaned
"Sorry." He apology.
"Ohh. That was so good." I said after his massaging technique.
"Okay ka na?" Mom asks
"Okay na ma." Sagot ko.
"Thank goodness. Anyway, Jelo. Salamat. Kumain ka muna" mom said
"Di na po." He answered politely.
"Sige na. Kumain ka na. Masarap naman ito e." Mom said
"Ma! "
Mom only smile maliciously. Si mommy talaga akala yata jojowain ko ito e may jowa na ako.
"Sige po. Mauna na ako. May gagawin pa po ako." He said politely.
Tumango lamang si mommy. Mabilis akong tumayo at sinundan sya.
"Oh? Bakit ka tumayo? Magpahinga ka muna." He said
"Thankyou. Kung di ka naman busy mamaya--" he cutted me off
"No. Di naman ako busy mamaya. Sa cafè? Mamayang 7pm? It's my gratitude to eat a dinner with a pretty girl like you." He winked.
Oh?
"Okay. Pero nakita ko, may anak ka na. Ayokong makasira ng relasyon, gusto ko lang pasalamatan ka" I answered.
"Oh that? I'm a single parent. Wala kang masisirang pamilya, kung sakali ay baka makabuo ka pa. Kidding." He said and laughed so I did laughed too.
"Alright. Tonight, at 7pm." I said before I go back to the cottage.
"Boyfriend mo ba iyon anak?" Mom ask
"Kakikilala ko lang sakanya mom!" I answered
"Papunta na rin dun iyon. Gusto ko sya para sayo. At isa pa, ang galang ng batang iyon." Mom commented
"Really? Well, baka nga dun na din papunta. Magkikita kami mamayang gabi e." I said and look to Ram who was pissed because I could see his jaw clenching.
"Ooh? I'm happy for you darling." Mom said
Kumain na din kami ng mga handang dala-dala ni mommy. Tapos ay nagpaalam ako na magpi-picture lang tapos ay nagpresinta si Ram na sya na ang magpi-picture.
"Dito. Gandahan mo ang anggulo ah." Utos ko sakanya at saka nag-pose.
"Isa pa. Dapat kita ang hubog ng katawan ko ha." I smiled on the camera
I was about to strike a pose ng ibaba nya ang camera. Kunot noo akong lumapit sakanya.
"Bakit?" I asks.
"Makikipag-date ka habang kasama mo ang boyfriend mo?" Matigas nyang sabi.
"Wala naman yata akong boyfriend." Sagot ko
He looks so pissed. "Ano? Bumalik ka lang nag-iba na naman ang ugali mo?" He asks
"As far as I know ikaw ang umiiwas satin. Akala ko tuloy single na ak--"
He kissed me on my lips. I was so shock at first but seconds passed and I found myself responding on his deep kisses. I even ankle my arms around his nape.
Shit. Bakit ang rupok ko?
