Johnny POV
I haven't seen Kenzie all day but since she loves music I don't think she will skip this class. I decided to come 10 minutes early and to my surprise she was sitting there with Annie and Asher laughing "you know that if your in a music class you have to sing" Asher said "I'll try to avoid that at all costs" she said putting a small note in the front pocket of her backpack. While Annie and Asher were busy finishing some homework I walked over to Kenzie "hello to my amazing girlfriend/bestie" I hugged her from behind "hi john" she laughed "ew we are using first names now. Ok Mackenzie bring it on" I joked abs she just rolled her dyes
"You were supposed to eat with me at lunch" I said "I'm sorry I was busy" she said obviously lying "yeah ok" I said trying not to come off mean "I know this is weird since we aren't those types of people but do you think I could get a hug" she asked nervously "are you that scared of asking me a question" I questioned " you never know your reaction" she said "stand up" I told her and she just looked confused "talk to me about what you want because I don't know" I said opening my arms for her to. We were hugging for like 5 minutes until I heard someone open the door and I jumped which caused Mackenzie to laugh "oh look it's Orlando and his little friend" a bunch of football players said
"Just ignore them. No need to retaliate" Kenzie said grabbing my arm "you can have my seat" she motioned for me to sit down "where are you gonna sit" I ask "I'll stay on the floor" she brushed off my answer "no I'll sit on the ground you take the chair" I pushed her into the chair and sit between her legs "if you have gum" I asked her "um yeah in the front pocket of my bag" she said indulged in her phone. As I opened the front pocket the first thing I saw were tiny pieces of paper and I know she needs privacy but they all had things written on them saying pretty rude things that definitely offended me too
"hun isn't that hard to find" she giggled but instantly stopped when she saw pieces of paper in my hand "I said gum not go through personal things" she said throwing a pack of gum at me "Mackenzie who see these from" I asked and she just took them from me and shoved them in her bag "it's none of your business" she snapped which made me jump and everyone look over to us. "Why can't you tell me" I whispered "they are notes it's not a life or death situation" she rolled her eyes "Mackenzie" my voice saddened "Johnny" she mimicked "I don't wanna talk about this" she looked back to her phone.
We are halfway through class when the teacher said we are allowed to just mess around. Mackenzie has just been sitting with her head in her hands but I don't know if she's crying or sleeping. "Can you come with me" I picking up Mackenzie and took her outside the door and into an empty hallway "are you ok" I moved her head out of her hands "I'm fine. I just need to go to the bathroom for a minute" she said trying to push past me "you aren't going anywhere until you tell me what's upsetting you" I spoke softly "nothing. I'm a girl I'm allowed to cry" she try's to giggle "was it the notes that made you upset" I asked
"I really don't need this right now" she scoffs "you got 5 seconds before I beat ever football players Ass" I told her but she just looked at me like I was joking and I just walked away. "Your sister is pissing me off" I told annie as I sat down " I told you to go easy on her" she rolled her eyes "I'm not going east on her when she's the reason for everyone stressing the fuck out. She has to learn that she can't just get special treatment for spazzing the fuck out on everyone" I snapped back "Johnny. My favorite student" the teacher interrupted "you should sing us a song" she clapped her hands "I don't sing anymore. Gave up on that dream" I said "Well then how about. Mackenzie sings" she said as Mackenzie walked in "I don't really sing" she said "really means you don't most of the time so you get up here and sing for us" she correct and Kenzie gave up and sat in front of the classroom

"Wow" the teacher spoke when she got done "don't worry it's just a stupid little song" Mackenzie said opening her eyes "did you write it" she questioned "yeah. I wrote it last November" Kenzie said and my jaw dropped (yes I know it's by Conan Grey but let's pretend) "what was your inspiration behind the song" she asked "oh my life" Kenzie said "give us an explanation" she said and Kenzie nodded "well the first verse goes to me and one of my brothers. Bullying started and let's just say it didn't end well for both of us but I survived" she looked at Annie as she walked out the room "the second one is to another brother of mine and how him and his friend liked each other but didn't admit it" she explained
"The chorus was just some words put together in my head and spat onto paper" she shrugged "the other verse came from a more up to date event where I met someone and I got away but I don't know where she is" she said uncomfortable "then the chorus then it just says all the events are replaying Like a movie" she sighed "you have a very simple creative process" the teacher said "thank you" Mackenzie said sitting in Annie's seat which is right by mine "you did very good" I whispered to her "thanks" she numbly replied pulling out the notebook as every other time "As someone who is an open book you really poured your heart out in that song" I said and she rolled her eyes "it was a song not a life story" she replied
"As your boyfriend I would have liked to know that you tried to kill yourself" I shrugged "yeah because that's the first thing I tell people when they meet me" she said sarcastically "were you gonna tell me" I asked her and she shook her head no "well I hare secrets so I'll tell you one of mine" I said "so last year I was talking to this girl and I was super high one night so I sent her really mean things and the next morning when I came to school I was walking to gym when she pulled me into an empty classroom and shot herself in the head to show me the damage I caused" I admitted very quietly "did you like her" Kenzie questioned "i think I did" I sighed "well I'm glad you told me" she said hugging me and I hugged back

"So you call him baby but not me" Johnny scoffed playfully "he was mine first" I put my hands up in defense "you dated" Johnny yelled "for like 3 seconds. Literally" I laughed "your mine.all mine" he said grabbing my jaw in his hand "all yours"I whispered looking at his lips. He leaned in and kissed. This wasn't a normal kiss but more like a bunch of pecks "are you teasing me" I pulled back "you pissed me off I can do whatever I want" he laughed "I really have to finish this" he pointed to her green book "what do you even write in there" he questioned "whatever I feel like writing" I simply replied "well you should let me see" he snatched the book away from me "give it back" I said trying to grab it but someone took it out of his hands
"Today I kissed Johnny in the music room at the hospital" one read and I just put my head down "yesterday I went on a date..." they kept reading while laughing and I knew I was about to freak out "duck" I told John and he did what I said but was confused. I stood up quickly and threw at them "what the fuck" they yelled as they got hit by a desk in the head "Kenz" Johnny said slightly shaky "I'm sorry. I'm tired of them being assholes" I said walking over to grab my notebook. As I walked back I passed Johnnys friends and they smiled at me but I just rolled my eyes.
"We need a page in your book" Johnny pulled me into his lap "you and me in 2 years. Our future on a piece of paper" he whispered into my ear "you think we have a future" I smiled "Obviously. We need to make this page standout, I'll be back I'm going to get colored pencils" he smiled running to the bin of colors. I wrote our names in pencil lighting so I can go over it with silver sharpie. "I got aqua, mahogany, green,and purple" he said sand I raised an eyebrow at his choices "I like these colors leave me alone" he chuckled "you can fill in the letters and I'll wait til your done to finish the list" I said as he pulled me back into his lap.
He was deep into coloring and he looked as if this was the most important thing in the world "calm down it's just a stupid list" I laughed and he just stared at me "I'm taking this very seriously" he said "ok sorry" I put my hands up and he went back to coloring. Once he finished I quickly went over the letters with silver sharpie. During this process I felt him staring at me which just made me smile in uncomfortableness "hello to you too" I raised an eyebrow and he just turned red "sorry" he said "you are very pretty" he said and I just rolled my eyes "so you can write 5 things every other line and I can write mine between them" I said handing him a pencil

9-settle down by 25" he wrote "you wanna do all of that before 25" I questioned shocked "I'm a year older I have time" he reminded me

10-have kids by 25/26" I wrote slamming the book shut "I didn't get to see yours" he pouted "it's fine. You can see another time" I said standing up "you said it yourself that it's not that serious so let me see" he used my own words against me "Johnny I'm serious. I just can't show you right now" I said,
Johnnys POV
I knew exactly where what Kenzie wrote but I wanted to hear her say it, when she walked away to put her notebook back I looked over to my friends and they were obviously talking about me "what's the new rumors on me and kenzie" I asked them "besides the fact that she yeeted a table at dumb,dumb,and dumber nothing much" they said and it made me laugh "We should go to your house after school to hangout" they suggested "I haven't been there in like a year" I confessed "we used to hangout all the time and now that your back we can do that again" they punched me in the arm playfully "fine. But we leave right after school so my mom won't know I'm home" I said and they nodded "ok see y'all outside" I said going back to my seat
"So why were you talking to them" Kenzie asked fiddling with her pencil "they are my friends and they wanted to hangout" I said confused on why it's such a big deal "I could have cleaned up the room if I knew they were coming over" she said "we are going to my moms house actually. They wanted to go and I said sure" I was now the one fiddling "cool. Have fun" Kenzie said smiling "thanks" I said uncomfortably. The bell was about to ring when I got called over by Emily and Lilia "can Nadia also Come over. We've connected since you left and I know you guys are now cool-" Emily rambled "chilllllllll. I don't mind" I said and they nodded walking away
I don't understand why Kenzie was so chill with the fact 2 girls were coming over. I mean I don't want a jealous girlfriend but she seemed too chill for me to comprehend "damn already thinking about sleeping with one of your friends" I heard someone say interrupting my thoughts "what no. Nadia and I are over" I yelled gaining people's attention "jeez I was kidding you just seemed confused" Kenzie said pushing her glasses up "I think you look better with glasses" I spoke randomly "so I look ugly without them" she gasped "no definitely not. I think you look equally as pretty but the glasses look is more preferred by me" I explained confusing myself
"Ok" she shrugged taking off her glasses "I Hate complements" she said "I love that shirt it really expresses your inner demon" I chuckled knowing she won't take off her shirt. In a blink of an eye her shirt was gone "no no. Put it back on" I said trying not to make a scene "wanna keep going cause I don't mind" she smirked "no I want you to put your shirt on before someone goes like-" I was cut off by a football player "damn. Whenever you get bored of grade 11 let me know" he said winking "that I don't want that" I groaned "fine. You're welcome btw" she said smirking and walking it of class
