Niall was now five months pregnant and to say he as already done with the pregnancy was an understatement.
He had all sorts of cravings and his mood swings were sky rocketing every day. He took his anger out on anyone. The previous week he even told Simon off for talking so loudly on the phone since he had rung Niall in the wee hours of the morning, and he was actually convinced that his job was over but the older man just laughed and told him that he was sorry.
The bright side however, was that Niall's baby had started kicking and it was the best feeling ever.
His morning sickness was yet another thing, which apparently was all day sickness, that made him just wanna fast forward to the day he would have this baby already.
But he sucked it up.
He sucked all of it up because he knew that in the end it was gonna be worth when he would hold his baby in his arms and kiss it and shower it with unconditional love.
It was gonna be worth it.
He had woken up and he was still lying on his back looking up at the celling and not wanting to move because he knew that he would have to be sick the moment he moved.
Finally, he had to move because his bladder was begging for relief.
And as anticipated, as soon as he stood up, he felt a strong urge to throw up, so he quickly rushed to the bathroom.
After throwing up and weeing, he decided to take a shower and start getting ready for his day.

After getting ready, Niall walked down to the kitchen and wasn't surprised to find d Nick already dishing out their breakfast.
"Nicky!" Niall greeted enthusiastically, too enthusiastic for someone pregnant and in the damn morning.
"Are you okay?" Nick asked worriedly.
"Of course, I am. Why?" Niall sat down and dug in his pancakes.
"You just seem too happy?" Nick too sat down infront of Niall but didn't start eating yet.
"And that is a bad thing because..?" Niall shoved another forkful into his mouth and looked at his bestfriend.
"It's not, it's just you are so grumpy in the mornings, always." Nick said.
"Well, things change, just don't get used to it. Besides," Niall put down his fork and rubbed his hands together, "I've made up my mind, today we are gonna find our the gender of this little bundle of joy."
"Really? That's awesome Niall. I really can't wait." Nick smiled so big, Niall thought his face would split into two. They had been offered to find out the previous month but Niall declined.
"Yeah, I wanted to wait for the birth but I'm too curious to wait for four more months." Niall smiled.
"Well, eat up quickly, we have to go to the appointment soon." Nick said giddily and started shoving food in his mouth making Niall laugh.

"Nick calm down, you'll give me a headache if you keep bouncing your leg like that." Niall scolded his friend.
They were at the hospital already and were sat on the chairs waiting for the doctor.
"Look I'm really excited, okay. Sorry." Nick said and looked at the jar of peanut butter that Niall had in his hand. "Why did you bring the peanut butter in here?"
Niall looked at the jar in his hand and back at Nick.
"Shut up." He snapped at him. He really didn't mean to be mean but Nick had asked him about it for the thousandth time now and he was tired of explaining his weird peanut butter craving that day.
"Jeez, no need to bite my head off." Nick raised his hands in surrender.
"Stop annoying me Nicho-" Niall's sentence was cut off by a nurse.
"Niall Horan?" The young nurse called and Niall looked up at her.
"Yeah?"
"I'm sorry to tell you this, but your doctor was in the labour room delivering a baby but it got complicated and now they have to do an emergency C-Section." Niall nodded not knowing anything else to say so she continued.
"Now, we can either assign another doctor to check you today if you want or you can wait for him when he's done with the operation." She asked and Niall bit his lip in thought.
He was going to find out the gender of his child, he didn't want to be given another doctor whom he wasn't comfortable with. If it was just his usual check ups then he would have agreed.
But then, he had to think of his bestfriend. Nick had to be at work in an hour. He had gone with Niall thinking they'd be back before he had to go to work.
And Nick really wanted to be there when Niall found out.
"It's alright Niall, it seems like I'm gonna miss it. I know how long it took you to be comfortable with your current doctor." Nick said and Niall silently hugged him.
He was grateful to have a friend like Nick, one who knew the right things to say and when exactly to say them.
He then turned to look at the nurse who was patiently waiting for the response.
"It's okay, I'll wait for him. How long is it gonna take?"
"Possibly, two hours if there won't be any more complications." She replied and Niall nodded.
"I'll wait."
"Okay, good. I'll go bring you some snacks, your doctor's instructions. What would you like?" She asked eyeing the jar of peanut butter.
"Uhm... It's okay, you don't have to. I'm actually really hungry and I'll go to the cafeteria." Niall replied shyly.
"Alright, my name is Amanda, if you need anything just call me. I'll be over by the nurse's station." She said and excused herself.
"I'm sorry, Ni. I wish I could call in sick or something." Nick looked at Niall with sad eyes but Niall smiled.
"It's okay, I will be fine. And I'll even go over to your work place and see you since I won't have anything else to do for the rest of the day." Niall offered.
"No, when you leave here. You'll probably be tired, I want you well rested. I'll see you back home. Just text me anything you want I will bring it to you." Nick said standing up and Niall did the same.
They embraced and soon Nick left. Niall decided to look for the cafeteria and grab something to eat.

When he got to the cafeteria, he opted for a kale salad which he ate alongside his peanut butter here and there.
He was halfway through his meal when he felt the presence of someone infront of him.
"Hi, can I sit with you?" He looked into familiar green eyes and for a moment his heart missed a beat but they were a female's eyes.
"Yeah, sure." Niall didn't want anyone bothering him but he agreed because most of the tables were occupied and this lady had asked politely instead of just sitting down.
"Thank you." She said with a smile and Niall could swear he had seen the face with those dimples before but he couldn't remember where.
She either had features of someone he knew or she resembled someone he knew.
"You're welcome." He replied politely and went back to eating. As she did.
"I'm Gemma by the way." She said after a few minutes and Niall looked up.
"Pleased to meet you. I'm Niall." He replied and from there, they got talking.
Niall learned that she was there because her brother had had an asthma attack at work and had been rushed to the hospital and she was the first person they had called.
He also told her about how he was there to find out the gender of his baby and she even threw jokes about his jar of peanut butter which he didn't take to heart.
She was very nice and Niall really enjoyed talking to her.
When they were done, they stood up and decided to head out together after throwing away their rubbish.
"So how long is your brother staying in the hospital?" Niall asked once they left the cafeteria.
"They said they just need to observe him for the whole day but he isn't spending the night here. They actually sedated him now and he's sleeping." Gemma said and Niall nodded.
"Asthma attacks can be so crucial. My ex-boyfriend, the father of my baby was asthmatic and it used to get pretty nasty. I hope your brother gets well soon." He said, remembering Harry's health condition.
"Anyway, I better get going. The two hour wait is up and I think my doctor is now available." Niall said.
"Yeah, I better go too. See you around Niall. Find me when you know. I wanna know what you are having." She said with a big smile with those damn dimples and Niall couldn't say no so he agreed.
Gemma then went on to give Niall her brother's room number and they said their goodbyes.

Niall was excited he couldn't lie still. And his doctor kept smiling at his cuteness.
"Keep still Niall." The doctor said.
"Yes. Doctor, Winston." Niall smiled and looked at the screen that showed his baby.
"Niall, how many times have I told you to call me Ben?" The doctor said and Niall blushed.
"Alright, Ben." He said and Ben smiled.
"Now let's look at this little angel." He moved the wand around a few times and then he stopped.
"Got you." He said and looked at the screen closely then he looked at Niall.
"It's a-" Ben started saying but Niall cut him off.
"Wait wait wait, I need to breathe." He said and took deep breaths as Ben chuckled.
The doctor then took out his phone and quickly tapped on it. Niall couldn't help but laugh when he heard the drum roll coming from his doctor's phone.
He was once again reminded just why he had grown so comfortable with Ben. Because he understood Niall so much and was always goofing around to make him laugh.
"Okay. Ready now?" Ben asked and Niall took one more deep breath before nodding.
"You are having a girl. Congratulations, Niall."
Niall froze. He was happy. He had always wanted a little girl.
And he knew his mother would be more than happy when he told her since Theo was a boy. He was ready to tell his family about his condition but he just wanted to tell them face to face and as soon as he had some off days, he would travel.
A girl.
A little princess.
His little princess.
He couldn't contain his emotions and soon his face broke into a big smile with tears rolling down his cheeks.
"Thank you. Thank you. Thank you." Niall kept chanting to Ben and the older man couldn't help but share Niall's happiness.
After Niall had stopped crying his happy tears. Ben told him when he would see him next and prescribed some more prenatal vitamins for him.
He also told him to take of himself and avoid stressing because the baby had began pushing his organs around to make more room.
"Don't forget to take care. And call me if you feel anything unusual." Ben said after cleaning the gel off Niall's tummy.
He then printed out the sonogram pictures and handed them to Niall.
"I will, thanks a lot, Ben. See you soon." Niall stood up and smiled at Ben.
"Bye Niall. Bye baby." He waved.
Niall quickly left the office and searched the room that Gemma had told him.
He was so happy and he wanted to share the good news with his new friend before he could tell Nick.
He almost tripped, speed walking when he located the room.
He stood outside the door for a while, wondering whether he should knock or not. In the end he decided to knock out of politeness.
When he heard a faint 'come in, he walked inside but froze on his spot when he saw the person lying in the small hospital bed.
"Niall. You came. Did you find out? Oh I'm so excited for this, what are you having?" Gemma rushed over to Niall and hugged him while Harry sat up confused.
Niall was still frozen on the spot but he was taken out his trance by Harry's voice.
"What is going on?" He asked, eyes moving from Niall to his sister back and forth.
"Niall, this is Harry, my brother. He is annoying sometimes but I love him with everything in me. And Haz, this is Niall, my friend, I met him today." Gemma introduced them. "Now tell me."
"Niall, you came to find out the gender?" Harry asked softly and Niall looked from him to his sister and mentally face palmed for not seeing the resemblance earlier.
"Wait, you two know each other?" Gemma asked.
"I think I'm gonna be sick." Niall said.
