Pulling out the silver tray laying it on the counter I started laying some crackers down on top of it before folding some of the salami I had and putting each one on a toothpick then grab the little cube cheese putting it on the toothpick too. Once I got done with the little snack I was making for Makar and I, I checked the time pulling my phone out seeing that it's going on 11:30am. Earlier I had let him rest for a while plus it was like 8 around that time I'm not going to wake him up early especially if he's not going to school. The boy did woke up not to long ago around 10, he came downstairs in his blanket and brought his pillow to watching TV in the living room. That came to my knowledge earlier when I was helping one of the maids with laundry and I heard Makar arguing with Halston about the T.V saying that it's his house and he's not gonna watch some boring sports on it. I found that kind of funny due to the fact that he think he runs everything also moody when he's sick which is adorable.
My heart jumped out my chest for a split second as I felt a cold breeze touched my arm. I looked over to my right seeing it was the refrigerator door and it was open I tilt my head a little to see that it was Mr.Nikiforov. He closed the door and had a water bottle in his hand.
"Can I help you?" He asked and I look at him before shifting my eyes back to tray.
"No, zone out a bit." I said putting a small bowl on the tray while I take an orange cutting it in half.
"What are you making?" He ask and I felt him lean over a bit almost like he's hovering me. Then again the man is way taller than me.
"A little snack, Makar tired of eating soup. He said he would die before having to eat more." I kind of laughed repeating what he said but got a sigh out of it. "What's wrong?" I asked.
"He needs to knock his cold out. We gave him different types of soup anyway." He grumbled and his comment made me laugh.
"He doesn't always need to eat soup sir. He can eat regular meals too, I know for dinner he wants beef stew." I said picking the tray up.
"That's the same-"
"Stew contains less of a liquid then soup sir." I smile and he squint his eyes at me folding his arms and I saw a little smirked appear on his face.
"I need you to do me a favor." He said and I nod my head and moved it a little to motioned him to follow me. "You think you can help the maids prepare food and services to our guests that is coming today?" He ask and not to be all shock and all but I'm surprised he didn't demand me helping. We arrived at the living room seeing Makar laying in the couch with his head prop up and he sweating a little. Huh all that energy from this morning seem to tired him out. He looked over and gave us a big smile before turning his attention back on the television.
"Of course, how many is showing up so I know the proper proportions to make." I asked setting the tray on the table.
"It's an family event, the one you and Victoria plan the decor for." He said and that click in my brain, totally forgot about that and kind of grateful to help due to the fact Avery and Anastassia can finally stop pestering me about finding a dress to wear.
"What time is the event supposed to start?" I asked.
"Nine."
"Nine?" A voice chip in and we turn to look at Makar, Mr.Nikiforov put his hands in his pocket.
"I go to bed at seven and I want some real food. Marya can I stay up till nine." I was taking back and Mr.Nikiforov glared at the boy which caused me to hold in my laughter.
"You are expected to be in bed by seven, I'm the parent."
"How about nine, I'm the child." My eyes widened because if I was to say that at his age I probably would have gotten smacked.
"My point is proven just like you said you are the child. Bedtime is seven." Mr.Nikiforov took his hands out of his pockets and folded his arms.
" Eight thirty. " Makar sat up and mimic his father shooting him a glare.
"Seven." The boy father face was a blank expression now as the two.
"Seven thirty, I'm sick and you said I can stay home tomorrow too. So tonight's technically not a school night." Makar pointed out and it was silent for a few seconds.
"No."
"Seven fifteen and that's the lowest ima go." Makar said and I raised an eyebrow.
"Seven fifteen?" Mr.Nikiforov and I both question and I tilt my head.
"What do you need fifteen minutes for?" I asked.
"To sneak some deserts and snacks." He answer truthfully and I smile while Mr.Nikiforov sighed.
"Fine Seven fifteen it is." He agreed with his son and Makar got up and held his hand out.
"Pleasure doing business with you." He said and I giggled, awe cute. Mr.Nikiforov nod and shook his hand. Before tickling his son and picking him up, Makar laughed and tried to wrestle with him. I smiled at them watching for a few short minutes before seeing Caesar leaning against the wall. He cleared his throat grabbing the two attention, he looked at the three of us raising an eyebrow but a smiled spread.
"Don't mean to interrupt but Ruslan we need to do something about this rat soon. It's starting to stink." Caesar said and for some reason goose bumps appeared on my arms.
"You killed it?" Mr.Nikiforov asked and knowing what they actually do starting my make my stomach twist a little and find it weird how easy he was pulled out of parent mode so quickly.
"Not exactly?" Caesar rub the back of his neck and form where I am standing I saw Mr.Nikiforov expression turn into a pissed off looked. He ruffled Makar hair and saying he'll be back, and soon as he left the living room with Caesar his voiced boom saying something in a different language. Makar sat back on the couch getting under the covers, I looked at him to see him in a pouty mood. Assuming hes upset that he had to stop playing.
"Ready to watch that movie you wanted." I asked and he smiled at me nodding his head fast and like that his mood was gone.
The rest of the day was going by fast, other than his grandmother bothering me about how I should feed her grandson more healthy lunches. Because apparently she knows what's best for him, even though I rarely seeing her interact with him unless Makar actually wanna be around her. Okay maybe I'm being a bit mean, she sort of helps out by calming the hyper boy down. She often goes to the park with him since her stay here and play a few board games with him. The thing is the lady don't cook or anything so for her to tell me how do my job that I'm great at kind of pisses me off. I can't complain though because Makar is grandchild and I can understand that a grandmother can be overprotective. Not to long ago I was tidying up the manor while some of the mades were starting to cook. I mainly was in one of kitchens. I was done but I spilled coffee on myself not watching what I was doing because I tend to space off for a while thinking of what next to do. When I was finished mopping I went to my room to change realizing I have to do laundry anyway. So I changed into black bodysuit turtle neck and navy blue high waisted jeans.
I put all my dirty laundry in a bag which wasn't a lot because I tend to keep my clothes clean. I walked to the laundry room setting it down knowing one of the maids will get to it. Getting back on track I went back into the second kitchen to see Victoria smiling holding what looks like a swan made out of cream white table napkins. She was showing Ms.Katia who was chopping some carrots while paying attention the Victoria. The kitchen was starting to get busy. I made my way over and greeted the two.
"Hi deary." Ms.Katia said giving me a tight squeeze before going back to chopping.
"Hi how are yo-" I was cut off with Victoria shoving her napkin swan in my face saying look. I stared at her and slowly moved her hand away from my face. "I can see fine don't shove it in my face." I look at her little creation a smile telling her it's cute. Victoria took my hand bring me to the dining hall, yes Mr.Nikiforov has a dining room and a dining hall which I don't understand what person needs a dining hall but in its not even that big so I can't complain.
"I made a lot they're in that basket." She pointed at the floor. Victoria has always been creative from the time I got to know her. I started to actually see due to how she cleans and fixes things. Unlike the maids who would fold towels or set tables neatly and regularly. But when Victoria does it she always either shape the napkins or towel into a swan or heart. In her opinion she say you'll never know who coming over so it's good to make sure things are presentable not just neat and boring.
"I'm assuming you want me to help you set the tables with and put each little swan on a plate." I said and she smile.
"Please, thank you." He said and I simply told her it's not problem. I love helping out plus it give us time to talk about our day and such. Which wasn't bad at all on my half and hers was alright she said it was easy going day besides Mr.Nikiforov mother nagging her for not making tea to her liking. Then again the lady complains about almost everything. One of the butlers walk over towards us telling me Makar is looking for me in the family room. I said my goodbye to Victoria and made my way to the family room to see Makar who was laying on the floor waiting on me. He lift his head up soon as I enter and I looked at the clock that reads seven fourteen.
"You have a minute." I said and the boy pout.
"Ms.Katia wont let me get an desert can you sneak me one." He ask pouting and I laughed.
"Is that why you called for me?" I ask and he nod his head.
"It was either that or I'm throwing a tant but I don't have the energy for plan b so I stuck with plan a." He said before quickly hugging me. "Please Maryaaa I'm dying of sugar. I just want some cheese cake." He looked at me poking his lip out, I smiled and roll my eyes patting his head.
"I'll get you your cheese cake when it's done." I said reassuring him.
"May I have two lunchables for now then?" He asked and I nod my head. "You the best ... can I have a third one for support."
"You pushing it, go to bed I'll bring you your snacks." I said and Makar let me go running out the room. Oh lord this is going to be a long night.
