Patricia: "And I can't say this enough. Charts are organized by room number. I know you're temps, but there's no excuse for sloppiness."
Burke: "Did they bring back Edmonds' chart from physical therapy?"
Derek: "You know I can't do my job without vitals on the chart." they talk at the same time while looking through a couple of charts
Patricia: "Know why I stopped being a nurse? Doctors. Doctors who don't know how to pitch in."
Sky: "What do you expect Patricia? They weren't raised right." she says smirking at the boys as the woman smiles at her before walking away as Richard walks past them
Burke: "Right. There should be a way to compromise."
Derek: "This place is going to hell. We need the real nurses back."
Richard: "We need 40 nurses to relieve the overtime that they're striking about. That's $2 million a year we don't have."
Sky: "Have you checked under the couch? I always find spare change there" she says standing at the bottom of the stairs as he turns to face her with a slight glare "Ok, I'm silencing myself." she says as they turn their separate ways and she goes down to the pit

Alex: "Can you tell us when you first noticed the rash?"
Man: "When we were climbing Rainier yesterday."
Sky: "Wow! You go up the Emmons Glacier route?" she says coming over to them and taking the chart from Cristina as she hands it to her
Woman: "Please. You can do that in an SUV. We did Liberty Ridge."
Sky: "Oh, wow. That's hardcore. Hi, I'm Dr. Sky Rivers."
Claire: "I'm Claire, this is Wade. It's our honeymoon."
Sky: "Congradulations. God, look at that rock." she says looking at the ring on her finger
Cristina: "Did you sustain any trauma on the hike? Did you fall down or bang your leg?"
Claire: "No."
Wade: "Well, she cut her foot on oyster shells at the beach a couple days ago. We were windsurfing in Puget Sound."
Sky: "No way. Oh, wow. Looks like you'll need a honeymoon to recover from your honeymoon."
Claire: "Ow" she says as Cristina checks her foot "My leg's going to be ok, right?"
Alex: "Yeah. It's probably a simple skin infection."
Cristina: "Uh, no, it's not. Look." she says as they see the discoloration on her leg spread over the line

Sky: "Anyone care to probe the wound?" she says as they operate on Claire
Both: "I do."
Alex: "I'd like to try one of your amazing surgical techniques Dr. Rivers." he says making her chuckle a little
Sky: "Well go ahead Dr. Karev. Okay, good. Just go ahead and slide it in."
Alex: "Whoa. No resistance."
Cristina: "Let me see."
Nurse: "Dr. Rivers?" she says holding a phone up to her ear
Cristina: "Let me see."
Sky: "Yes?"
Cristina: "No healthy muscle gives way that easily."
Sky: "My god. Oh, this poor girl. Ok everyone, we're locking down the OR. All nonessential personnel must leave now."
Cristina: "Was that Pathology?"
Sky: "It's necrotizing fasciitis."
Alex: "The flesh-eating bacteria?"
Sky: "In the flesh."

Wade: "What wait, flesh-eating...This is some kind of joke, right? She put you up to this?"
Cristina: "No. We have to amputate the leg."
Sky: "Cristina." she says sternly
Wade: "We're on our honeymoon."
Sky: "I'm sorry, Wade. I know this is scary. Amputation is not the only option."
Cristina: "It's the only sane-excuse me. If we don't get this under control immediately, she is going to die."
Wade: "But there's another option?"
Alex: "Well we can try to save the leg by cutting out the infection. It won't be pretty but we might be able to keep it functional."
Wade: "I need to see her."
Cristina: "There's no time."
Alex: "By the time we take her out of anesthesia and put her back under...You need to make a decision now."
Wade: "I mean, she runs marathons. This is our adventure honeymoon. It's...I mean, it's who she is."
Sky: "Ok. Then we'll do everything we can to save the leg." she says as Cristina gives her a bewildered look as she walks away
Cristina: "You think this is a good idea?"
Alex: "I seriously think this is a way cooler surgery."

Cristina: "So, Dr. Rivers, have you've seen a lot of necrotizing fasciitis?"
Sky: "No. Have you?" she asks not bothering to look up from her work
Cristina: "If the infection moves to her blood stream, she'll die."
Alex: "If she wakes up without her leg, she might wish she had."
Sky: "Right. She's young, healthy, a newlywed."
Cristina: "And your treatment plan is based on...cuteness? If she were an 80-year-old man, you'd amputate."
Sky: "She's not 80. I thought you of all people would jump at this surgery. I'm surprised Dr. Yang."
Cristina: "I'm trying to save a patient from dying. I mean the chance of this being successful is-"
Sky: "Dr. Yang. I know what the odds are. I'm the attending here, not you."
Cristina: "I'm just saying-"
Sky: "I know you like to think you know everything. But let me fill you in on something. Surgeries with little to no chance of success is kind of my thing. And my success rate is higher than my failures. Another thing about me...I don't like doubt in my OR. If you can't be like Dr. Karev and help me fight for this leg. Then you are of no use to me." she says leaving Cristina with her mouth open in shock behind her mask before she clears her throat and walks out the room
Cristina: "Uh, excuse me. Restroom."

Burke: "Dr. Rivers." he says coming into the room making her scoff a little to herself and shake her head
Sky: "What do you want Dr. Burke?"
Burke: "I, um I heard you had necrotizing fasciitis. So we don't see a lot of those around here."
Sky: "Huh. Yeah, well. Being a cardiothoracic surgeon, I wouldn't think you saw any." she says making Alex's eyebrows raise up slightly
Burke: "Right. Well, uh I was curious what protocol you were following here?"
Sky: "You were curious or Cristina was concerned?"
Burke: "I hope you'll forgive the intrusion. It's nothing personal. Dr. Yang wanted to be sure that-"
Sky: "Dr. Yang wanted to be sure the excited cheerleader wasn't trying to kill a patient. Am I right? With all due respect, wasn't it me that saved your ass not too long ago when you didn't know how to do a specific procedure" she says turning to face him as he stutters for an answer "I know we don't know each other that well but one thing I hate is when people question my ability to do my job. Now my patient is a marathoner and I told her husband I'm going to try to save her leg. So my plan is to stand here for as long as it takes to scrape away every last cell of necrotic flesh. And if it's still spreading, we'll take the leg. And if we do, then our eager young intern here can hold the saw. Now, Dr. Karev, might be a kiss-ass, but at least he's able to show kindness and compassion unlike some other people in this room. So if that's all I have to get back to work, and I imagine you do too. Unless you're too busy being your girlfriends lackey" she says turning back to face the table and picking up the instruments "Now, Dr. Yang, you ready to scrub back in?" she asks as Cristina walks out the room as Alex watches them before turning back to the table
Alex: "You are a total badass." he says smirking underneath his mask at her
Sky: "Thank you."

Sky: "Pretty spectacular recovery, Claire."
Claire: "Really? Do you think it's going to be ok?"
Sky: "I think we got almost all of the necrotic tissue. A few times in a hyperbaric chamber and you'll be out of the woods."
Claire: "Thank you for saving my leg."
Sky: "My pleasure. Dr. Karev here will explain the hyperbaric chamber. Dr. Karev?"
Alex: "Thank you, Dr. Rivers. A hyperbaric chamber..."
Sky: "I'll take that apology any time." she says smirking at Cristina as she walks out the room

Cristina: "She wants me to apologize." she says coming into the scrub room where Burke is writing in a chart
Burke: "You crossed the line. You made me cross the line."
Cristina: "Oh, like I can make you do anything." she says pacing around the area
Burke: "It's not your fault. It's mine. I'm your teacher. I'm supposed to be. But you came to me as your boyfriend. And I responded that way." he says as she leans against the sink while biting her lip
Cristina: "I'm not used to being wrong."
Burke: "I know. But you're an intern. Second-guessing an attending is not your job."

Cristina: "Oh, she's with Alex. I can't do this in front of Alex." she says seeing Sky and Alex down the hall
Burke: "Well, you can and you will."
Cristina: "Excuse me, why aren't you apologizing?"
Burke: "I already apologized. You on the other hand..." he says pointing his finger towards the pair as she sighs before walking over to them
Cristina: "Dr. Rivers, I just wanted to uh...just wanted to...um apologize for, you know, overstepping I'm sorry." she says muttering the last part as Sky smirks at her
Sky: "Apology accepted."
Cristina: "Great." she says going to walk away
Sky: "Dr. Yang" she says making the woman stop walking and slowly turning to face her "I'm under the impression that you would like to be a part of my more crazier cases. Is that correct?"
Cristina: "Yes ma'am I would."
Sky: "Excellent" she says stepping closer to her "Try something like that again in my OR and for every surgery I have I will make sure that you are standing directly outside the room. Do we have an understanding?"
Cristina: "Yes."
Sky: "Good." she says walking away from her as Alex smirks at the situation before turning to walk the other way
