Kaycee's POV

"Ahem ahem..." I cleared my throat loudly at the receptionist. She didn't even look up. Bitch.

"Excuse mee....," I started loudly, hoping to get a reaction from her. I had been standing here for about 30 minutes now. I had coughed, sneezed, cleared my throat and even slapped the desk but she ignored me as if I was just a ghost.

Suddenly the entrance bells chimed as someone else entered the reception area. The girl looked up and her eyes travelled behind me to see who had entered. Upon seeing the person who had just walked in, she ran to that person with heart eyes, while I stood there gaping.

I turned back to see who had entered and soon enough it was 'The Sean Lew'. I rolled my eyes. The Greek God of our school. Cold, rude and 'mysterious' - their words, not mine - he was a sight for the sore eyes, according to them anyway. I admit he was hot and cute when he wasn't frowning or yelling at someone.

He has never noticed me even though I am in half of his classes. But no surprise there, since hardly anyone does. I am just a regular nerd, the school's favourite person to bully. Just for my way of dressing up as a 'boy' and my high grades. At least I have a future and just so you know, these shirts and pants and sneakers are comfortable. Can't say the same for your heels, skirts and tube tops.

I observe Sean walking in, engaged on his phone, probably messaging one of his zillion fangirls. The thought alone made me roll my eyes again. I wonder what he's doing in a summer camp. I had volunteered because I needed the money. Why did he? He's rolling in cash.

The receptionist, one of our school's popular girls, if you couldn't already tell by the way she behaved, was now talking to him as if she's hypnotized by him. I'm pretty sure someone will have to clean up the drool later on.

"Give me the keys to my room, that's it." He said with his mouth clenched. I could see him trying very hard to not rip her head off. At least he and I were on the same page about that.

"Of course, I will Sean. But would you like something to drink while I bring the keys?"

"No, I would not like that. Now. Give. Me. My. Keys."

Her eyes widened when she saw his teeth clenched and a laugh crept up my throat. I tried to stop it. Believe me I did. Too late.

I burst out laughing and both of them turned to look at me as if  they were seeing me for the first time.

The girl's face was red from embarrassment. At least at first. Then her eyes became furious as if it was my fault that she was rejected by 'The Greek God'.

"Hey grandma, what you laughing at? Why are you here, anyway?"

"I've been here for thirty minutes asking for my key. You wouldn't give it so I'm waiting."

She glared at me and proceeded to  ignore me some more. She turned to talk to Sean again when Sean raised an eyebrow at her.

"This is how you treat your customers?"

The girl's became red again and she looked like a walking tomato. She finally walked towards the desk and took out two keys from the drawers but only took one in her hand and gave it to Sean.

"Here's your key, sir. You're in room 25. You can call me anytime you need something." She said winking at him.

I gagged inside my head and went to the desk to take my key.

It was Room 24.

Are you kidding me? Beside the player? I don't wanna stay up listening to the sounds of making love.

I let out a frustrated breath.

They better pay me well.

I huffed and puffed but finally managed to drag my suitcase to my room. Which was big enough to fit like at least like 2 persons. I didn't even own that many clothes. When I packed my entire closet back at home, it was only half filled.

I turned the key and the room clicked open. I stepped inside and holy shit, my jaw dropped to the floor. It was double the size of my room back home. It had an attached kitchen and a bedroom with bathroom along with a living room. In simple words, it was enormous. I took a look around and found another bedroom. That made me scratch my head. Was I supposed to change beds every night?

Then I understood that I probably have a roommate. I groaned. Being  an introvert and an outcast at school, I don't have friends nor any social interaction. I hardly leave my house. How was I supposed to adjust living with a stranger. And what if the person is a bully?

I shook my head off these thoughts and went back to living room. Reaching my suitcase, I dragged it to my bedroom, panting all the way. The bed was really big. Like really big. I could fit like 4 of me on the bed.

Suddenly I realised something. I left the key still stuck on the door. Not wanting to get locked inside on my first day here, I ran like Usain Bolt to the door but before I could stop myself in time, I passed the door and was in the hallway then WHAM!

I crashed into something that felt eerily soft like a human body but also hard like a pillar and my previously-running body hit the floor. My head was spinning faster than Earth and I sat up holding my head.

"I knew you were desperate from the moment I saw you. And I was right." I heard a deep male voice saying that from above me.

"Huh?" I was still dazed from the fall and this person was not helping me up.

Rude.

Not that I'm not used to this. But he could at least pretend to apologize. If it was at school I would've understood, since no one cares there.

"You girls are so annoying. Trying stupid tricks to get my attention. And look you broke my laptop. Are you kidding me?"

Now that got my attention.

"I want your attention? I don't want anything to do with you."

He rose an eyebrow in disbelief. "Why did you crash into me then?"

"It's called an accident dumbass.
Not everyone likes your ego-istic ass, Lew." I told him, my face red. I got up from my seat on the floor and dusted my clothes and walked back to my room with an air of superiority, trying to hide my shaking hands.

What do these playboys think of themselves?

I took out the key from the keyhole and closed the door in his face. I let out a sigh and walked over to the kitchen to start on dinner.

I suddenly heard a loud knock on my door and dropped the bottle I was holding which hit the floor with a loud Bam! and spilled water everywhere.

"Dammit!"

I trudged back to the door, hoping whoever was on the other side would burn in hell for making my floor wet. I opened the door and saw Sean's stupid face smirking at me.

"What do you want? It better be an apology."

He frowned. "Why would I apologize to you? I came here to tell you broke my laptop and now you gotta pay for it."

I blinked. He shifted his head. I blinked again.

"You're joking right?"

"I don't joke."

"B-b-but you're rich. You can buy another one."

"Of course I can, but you are still indebted."

"What?! Why?"

He smirked. I felt like punching his face.

"Because I want to."

"I don't have any money." I said and he stopped smirking. "Why do you think I am taking this job?"

"Not everyone is as lucky as you." I said.

He was silent for a while.

"Fine then. You don't have to pay for it. But you're still indebted so...... You can do my share of the duties."

"WHAT?!"

"Yeah. I'll pay you."

"How is that clearing your debt?"

"Well I won't get fired. That's good enough. I have to go away sometimes for..... some stuff I need to do."

Rich people's problems I guess. Can't relate.

"Fine."

He smiled. Well that was a first. I don't think I've ever seen him smile. He looks cute.

Wait- What did I just say?

I never thought I would associate words like that to Sean.

He was about to leave when he turned back again.

"What's your name, anyway?"

I rolled my eyes.

It's not like I expected him to know it. Nobody does.

"Kaycee."

"Kailey. Got it." He said and turned back and started running to wherever he had to go before.

"IT'S KAYCEE." I yelled at his running self.

Stupid, self-centred, annoying, ignorant asshole.

He turned back and waved at me.

That surprised me.

He was the first person to do so.

Okay I take those words back. But he's still an asshole.
