3 months later
"Five days......It's been five days, is there WiFi in there? I don't understand"
Mitchell watched Tess from the kitchen as she walked up and down in front of the counter with her phone held at her ear, he was trying to keep his laughter in as she ranted on to the doctor, one thing he definitely didn't need was for her to direct her irritation towards him
"Well isn't there SOME kind of medication to help this along?"
He felt sorry for her, he knew she was uncomfortable and he tried his best to make life around the house as easy going as possible, she was forced to stay away from the club for the time being and he could still see the actual fear on the doctor's face when he delivered that news
"Ok fine I'll tell him"
She threw the phone on the couch and groaned loudly, "I swear as soon as this baby pops out it's grounded"
Mitchell couldn't help himself as a small chuckle escaped him, he looked down to his feet literally feeling her scowl burning through him, he composed himself and took a sip of water then looked at her
"What did he say?"
She sighed, "We have to go in so he can talk to us about ways to help along the pregnancy and so he can check on the baby"
He nodded, "Ok I'll get the keys while you go change"
"Excuse me?"
He paused on his way to the key bowl his eyes wide as saucers, "What?"
"Is there something wrong with what I'm wearing?"
He looked at her outfit, a pair of leggings and an oversized sweatshirt and some fluffy boots
"Forget what I said"
"No no please say I look ugly and get it over with"
"See now I didn't say that you're just looking for an argument"
"I'm so ready to punch the shit out of you"
"You know what I'm not arguing with you right now, you're hormones are making you unreasonable"
He walked out of the apartment down the stairs waiting patiently for Tess as she slowly followed him
"You know I wasn't done talking"
"Just get in the damn car Tess"
"Hey DON'T tell me what to do"
"Sorry already did", he said as she took her seat and closed the door before she could retort
The drive was spent in complete silence, the tension palpable as both tried to keep themselves from getting into another argument. After a short drive which felt more like an eternity they arrived at the doctor's office
"I'm sorry...."
Mitchell looked at Tess who was staring at her lap while tears rolled down her cheeks, he sighed, ".....It's ok"
"NO IT'S NOT", she exclaimed wiping her face with a frustrated groan, "....I'm so mean to you and I don't want to be but sometimes I just want to rip you're head off then a few seconds later I feel guilty"
He laughed, "That's normal.....the doctor said you're emotions would be all over the place at this point"
"Yeah well I hate it"
He took her hand and kissed the back of it softly, "....It's almost over"
"Easy for you to say", she ripped her hand out of his and stormed out of the car as fast as she could considering how uncomfortably large she was
Mitchell smiled and shook his head, "Baby girl you better come quick"

Mitchell paced in the small room as Tess was behind the blue curtain changing into her hospital gown
He sighed and scratched his head, "You want help?"
"Did I ask for help?"
He slumped in a chair and sighed heavily, she opened the curtains and looked at him
"I'm sorry"
He smiled and nodded then stood up and walked to her folding her in a tight embrace
"I love you Mitchell please don't take my mood swings seriously"
"I'm not"
They heard footsteps behind the door and parted greeting the doctor as he entered. Both men helped Tess onto the bed. After a few minutes of tests and silence the doctor looked at the two expecting parents and smiled
"I'm happy to say there is absolutely nothing wrong....you are healthy....the baby is healthy....everything looks amazing"
"Please just tell me why this baby isn't demanding to be born yet"
"This is very normal.....many women come here complaining of the same things but there is nothing I can do unfortunately to help this along...."
Tess lay back and groaned loudly, "God I can't take this anymore"
"There is however things you two can do at home to try and speed up the pregnancy"
She sat up immediately hearing that, "WHAT!?"
He laughed and stood up taking two pamfletts from a table top near his chair and handed one to Tess and one to Mitchell
"Long walks, spicy food, sex......"
Mitchell looked up from his pamflett, "Sex?"
Tess rolled her eyes, ".....don't get any ideas"

That night they were sitting in their living room with Saen and Lorraine eating the spiciest foods they could find at the nearest takeouts, Tess slumped back against the couch groaning
"This is so hopeless.....I've walked around the park three times today I've been eating the spiciest food in LA and nothing, not even a kick....this baby is stubborn as a mule and that's coming from me"
"Oh sweetheart come on now don't get discouraged.....this will all be over before you know it"
"Agh mom I appreciate the pep talk but you've been saying that forever and at this point I feel like I'm gonna be pregnant till I'm eighty"
Mitchell took her hand and gently placed a kiss on top of it and laced their fingers together, "There is still one thing we can do you know"
"What? Swallow a rocket launcher", Saen said throwing down a chicken bone and licking his fingers
Tess scowled at him making him shrug and laugh
"I might just have to give in even though I'm not at all in the mood"
"Hey I'll get you in the mood...", Mitchell winked, "....we got that baby in there we're gonna get her out"
Tess smiled as he leaned in and kissed her momentarily forgetting about their two guests she opened her mouth and deepened the kiss.
"Hey not in front of us please"
She smiled into Mitchell's mouth as she heard Saen's voice but ignored him and continued to suck on her man's lips when she suddenly felt a sharp pain in her abdomen and pulled away abruptly
"What's wrong....", Mitchell sat up straight and looked at her alarmed
"I.....", she felt a sudden wetness running down her legs, ".....my water just broke"
There was a moment of stunned silence then Lorraine jumped up and started screaming
"WELL LET'S GET GOING THEN"
The two men jumped up and hurried to help Tess up while Lorraine went to the phone
"I'll call the doctor, get the bag and lock up you two get her in the car"
They nodded and continued to help her out the apartment. A while later they were all in the car and on their way to the hospital Lorraine sat in the back holding Tess's hand as she screamed in pain
"Breath....one....."
Tess took a deep breath in through her nose and slowly blew it out through her mouth
"Just like that sweetheart try to keep that up"
She tried her best but as the next contraction hit all her control flew out the car window as she threw her head back and screamed
Mitchell clutched the steering wheel tightly trying to consentrate on the road but his heart breaking with every blood curdeling scream from the backseat, his foot pressed down harder on the gas pedal every time she had a contraction
When they arrived at the hospital there were already two nurses with a wheelchair waiting for their arrival.
"AAAHHHHHH"
Mitchell quickly parked the car and jumped out opening the door for everyone to help Tess out. Doctor Cooper met them at the delivery room door and nodded at one of the nurses taking over while she stopped everyone at the door
"What are you doing I need to be in there", Mitchell looked over her shoulder trying to see what was happening
She gently closed the door and stood in front of it, "Sir please I'm just doing my job.....she is in good hands"
"I don't care I want to be in there, it's my baby"
"Ofcourse sir I will let you in as soon as you sign in for you're wife"
"But she's not...."
"NOT going to do this alone.....", Lorraine pushed Mitchell out of the way, "....you and Saen go sign in I'll be in there"
"Ma'am......."
"I'm the grandmother.....are you trying to tell me I'm not allowed to see the birth of my granddaughter?"
"N-no"
"Thought so.....", she straightened herself and moved past the gobsmacked nurse
Mitchell and Saen were going through the sign in papers at record breaking speed, when they finally finished Mitchell ran to the front desk tripping over a chair but grabbing onto the desktop before falling on his face.
"DONE"
The nurse smiled and took the clipboard from him then led them back to the room where Tess's screams could be heard echoing down the halls
"Um I...maybe I should wait outside"
Mitchell grabbed Saen's arm before he could run away, "You're not escaping this we're in this together"
Saen groaned as the nurse opened the door and Mitchell dragged him in, when the doctor stood aside and he caught a quick glance he almost fainted
"Oh my God.....that is so not normal"
Mitchell and Saen stared at the scene both gripping onto each other
"AAAARRRRRGGGGHHHHMITCHELLLLL"
Mitchell gulped as Saen pushed him forward, "Yes sweetheart"
Tess looked at him her hair sticking to her sweaty features
"WHERE WERE YOU!?"
"Signing in....."
"Ok Mitchell why don't you and Lorraine come here and hold her legs up for me?", the doctor said from his position between her legs
Lorraine winked at Mitchell and took the lead grabbing a leg while Mitchell smiled faintly and followed suit
"Saen why don't you go hold her hand and dab her with the damp towel"
Saen reluctantly walked forward and took the wet towel from Lorraine and dabbed his friend's forehead with it
"Ok Tess I know this is hard but I need you to listen to me ok?"
Tess tried answering but it was replaced by a high pitched scream
Saen flinched and grabbed at his heart, "Shit.....you're scaring the people next door...."
"SHUT UP!!"
Saen gulped and looked towards the others who all had faint smiles on their faces
"Ok when I say push I need you to push.....so try to take a deep breath through you're nose...."
Tess nodded and did her best to take a big breath through her nose
".....AND PUSH....."
She pushed with all her might while the doctor counted to ten
".....AND RELAX....."
Her shoulders fell back and her body relaxed a bit then she followed the doctors orders and repeated the process trying to block out the pain by thinking of why she is going through all of this.....
"OK I SEE THE HEAD TESS.....YOU'RE DOING GREAT JUST KEEP THAT UP..."
Mitchell watched his daughter being born and the whole room seemed to come to a stand still, the voices faded away and his body became numb
"ONE MORE PUSH....."
Tess took a deep breath, closed her eyes and pushed with the last bit of strength she has left in her body. Her body relaxed as the pain suddenly eased and she fell back exhausted
The room was silent for two seconds as everybody held their breath then a loud wail surrounded the room and everyone collectively breathed a big sigh of relief
Dr. Cooper looked down at the baby in his arms and smiled up at Mitchell
"You have a beautiful baby girl"

Hi guys. I'm sorry for the unnecessarily long wait I kept writing as much as I could but I actually got a work injury about 2 mnths back so I've been resting now I'm working again but the worst is the loadshedding in South Africa where I live.....it rlly restricts the amount of time I get to write and post. Thanx for sticking with me and welcome to all the new readers. I'm not sure how long this story will b but I have 2 new story ideas, one long and one short so stay tuned and I'll try and get next chapter up ASAP
