"Diane....."

When Tess heard the name she was instantly furious, she pushed Mitchell away and stood up wrapping her discarded gown around herself

Mitchell jumped up and reached for Tess but she angrily ripped her arm away, "Tess I can explain"

"What the FUCK is she doing here?"

"Just give me a minute baby please"

"Oh trust me I'll give you more than a damn minute"

She stormed away ignoring Mitchell who wrapped himself in his own dressing gown and tried to follow her, "Please sweetheart just hear me out"

"Leave me alone Mitchell"

He decided to give her some time to cool off while he delt with Diane

"Mitch I'm so sorry I didn't know about....."

"I told you to let me know when you're coming.....how did you get in anyway?"

"I still have the key from...."

He nodded and the awkward silence following seemed to last forever till he broke it

"This was a mistake.....I want to help you out but I can't do this to Tess.....I tried to be a good person but now it seems a stupid promise I made to you"

"So you're just gonna kick me out on the street?"

"You'll have to make other plans"

The sound of a door slamming in the distance made their attention shift to the stairs where Tess came barging down a suitcase in each hand. Mitchell panicked and ran to the front door before she could reach it

"Get out of my way Mitchell"

"Where are you going?"

"Wherever the fuck I want you don't own me"

"I didn't say that baby please-"

"Don't call me that and get out of my way now"

"You can't just leave without hearing me out....", he reached for her hands and gently pryed the luggage from her hands setting them down, "....please"

She sighed, "You have two minutes"

He nodded and lead her outside, "She called me a few days ago-"

"See now that's problem number one Mitch why is she even comfortable enough to call you"

"It's the first time we'd spoken to each other since breaking up I swear......she asked me if she could stay here for a couple days till she was moved in to her new apartment"

"Why is she moving here specifically?"

"I don't know she said she was taking a break from her kids"

Tess chuckled and shook her head, "You just are so naive Mitchell.....you think this is just some simple little favor for her?"

"What do you mean by that?"

"She's playing you"

He looked at her confused, she rolled her eyes and walked to the front door opening it and to his surprise Diane came stumbling out

Tess raised her eyebrows at him then switched her attention to Diane, "This isn't my first rodeo sweetheart"

"I don't know what you're talking about", she defended herself nose in the air

"Sure.....good luck with that"

Tess reached for her luggage and started walking down the path

"Tess wait"
