Sana had lost miles of her own territory. She sat there running her fingers through her hair, stressed about the entire thing. Winter was fast approaching and she didn't know how she was going to take care of her own pack.
"Leader Sana, you have a visitor." Her guard spoke.
"Who is it?" Sana snapped.
"Me." She looked up to see Mina smiling at her.
"How did you get here?" She gasped, standing up from her desk. She saw Momo standing in the doorway, smirking at her. "You..." She whispered.
"You needed someone to point you in the right direction. So I'll take my thank you now." She chuckled. Sana rolled her eyes, wrapping her arms tightly around Mina and holding her close. "I've missed you so much." She whispered.
"I missed you too." Mina smiled.
The young couple stayed together, Sana bouncing off her ideas on Mina. Of course Mina shot down every single one.
"What is so bad about that?" Sana asked. Mina walked over to the map, seeing where her territory had shrunk.
"Move them here. Bring them around, take the base." Mina said while drawing on it with the marker. "Once you take this base, you can move... Here, here or here." She circle the other bases, drawing little dotted lines to them.
"How did you learn tactics so quickly?" Sana asked her.
"What tactics?" Mina asked. "I just play a lot of video games." She chuckled. Sana rolled her eyes, holding out her hand for Mina. "How have you been holding up?" She asked.
"Barely." She sighed. "I think I'll be much better now that you're here." She smirked, pulling Mina onto her lap.
"Mm... I didn't come here just to make you feel better though." Mina whispered. Sana raised her eyebrow at her mate, waiting for her to continue. "I.. I think I found my real pack..." She whispered.
"Wow... That... That's amazing." Sana gasped. "How? Where?" She asked. Mina explained her research, how she reached out to the journalist and got the contact information from them for the Arctic pack. She had reached out to them herself, asking to meet in person, and had gotten an approval. "I thought I'd tell you before going there first..." Mina whispered.
"I don't want you going alone.. Arctic packs are no joke." Sana frowned. "Omegas and Alphas out there are a whole different breed.." She whispered.
"How so? If I'm one of them you can't say things like that." Mina pouted.
"What I learned in my training, Alphas out there are only useful for mating purposes... Omegas were the ones that ran the packs. Hunting, raising the young, everything. Which made them more aggressive and dominate." Sana explained. "Which... Now that I think of it, would make sense why you got so aggressive over your penguins..." She whispered, thinking back to when Mina had growled at her. "And that kid that Momo brought..." Mina blushed slightly, remembering the night well.
"Do you think it's a good idea to go?" Mina asked her. "If... If it's really them.. I might actually feel complete." She smiled.
"Don't I make you feel complete?" Sana whispered while resting her forehead against Mina's.
"You do. But family wise..." Mina frowned. "I just want a place were I belong..." Sana nodded, her fingers trailing up to touch the now healed mate mark on Mina's neck.
"I don't know their customs... They probably won't take kindly to a mate mark on an omega." She chuckled. Mina smiled, shaking her head.
"I wanted it. I'm yours." Mina reminded her. Sana pulled her closer, pressing her lips against he mate's. "I've missed you a lot." She whispered.
"I missed you a lot too." Sana breathed.
Mina had stayed for the entire duration of winter with Sana. Trying to help her with everything. Sana had used her tactic, causing the northern pack to retreat back. Mina was proud of her call, smiling as she made the next calls. She was proving herself to be an effective leader with her mate.
When spring had hit, so did her heat, causing Sana to hit a heat induced rut. She didn't mind it as much, only because it wasn't as intense anymore. The two lay together in the bed, legs tangled in sheets, the blankets thrown off of the bed, pillows scattered. Sana was the first to wake up, she looked down to see a bite mark on her shoulder. She couldn't help but let out a small chuckle, recalling how Mina had to bite down to stop herself from making so much noise. She looked down at her omega, still asleep with a new mark on her neck again. She couldn't help herself from marking her again.
After a few days, Mina had left the high alpha territory, flying out to meet her supposed real family. She sat on the plane, jittery the whole time. She couldn't help but think of the worst possible scenario... It was their fall, which meant warmer season. The leaders advised her to still dress warm as the entire land was still covered in snow and ice all year. Warmer season meant no blizzards to them. Just sun... And still freezing.
She followed the directions when she landed, finding the exit and heading to the nearest hotel. She emailed the leader back, stating her hotel and arrival time. After an hour, they had replied, telling her where to meet them. She was grateful that there was someone in the hotel that could help her. They called a cab for her, telling the driver where to take her. Once she had arrived... There was really no turning back now.
