So the hyenas never brought Scar back so Kion never got infected from the venom. He's still gonna have a scar because scars are awesome.
Kion's pov
I opened my eyes and was greeted by my parents and sister sleeping next to me. I stood up and stretched my body and cracked my back.
I then exited the den and was greeted by the rising sun. It was my turn to patrol the borders but if it was like the last few days, I was in for an easy day. The hyenas and jackals had been quiet lately as have the vultures and the crocodiles.
I'll be honest I found it a bit strange, but hey it was time that I didn't have to waste running around the Pridelands.
Don't get me wrong I liked being the leader of the Lion Guard. But sometimes I feel like it effected what I really wanted to do and be with.
'Like Vitani' I thought slightly drooling. Ever since I met her a year ago when they had moved in Jasiri's territory, I couldn't get her out of my head.
One day I was patrolling at night and I seen her on the other side of the river. To my surprise, she came down to the bank started a conversation. I was hesitant at first but also came down and and we talked across it.
Ever since then we met up every week or so to talk and sometimes I'd let her take a hare or two so if she was ever stopped by her mother, she could say she was night hunting.
Over time I found out that she respects the circle of life and is actually pretty nice, despite her mother. But with her mother in her life as much as she is, she can't do what she really wants to do with her life. Neither can her any of her friends.
Kasi, Tazama, Shabaha and Imara all found out about us when they followed Vitani on one of our meets and seen her cross over into the Pridelands. At first, they thought she was poaching but then they seen me come out of some tall grass and we began talking.
When we found out they were there, I thought they were going to rat us out but they said they would keep quiet about it because they haven't seen Vitani that happy in her whole life.
I was pulled out of my thoughts when I heard the laughter of hyenas and smelled blood. Fresh blood.
I ran ahead and what I seen when I topped the hill shocked me. Janja and his clan were attacking Timon and Pumba.
"No!" I yelled before jumping down on Chungu. I swatted him to the side before I growled at the rest.
They... ran. Why were they running. No time to think about that though. I ran to Timon and Pumba's side.
"Guys?" I said nudging their sides. No response. They were cut up and bloody. Suddenly Timon jumped up and started screaming. He crawled away from me backwards.
"No, no, no get away please" he said. I was confused, why was Timon acting like this. He then passed out again.
Suddenly I was pounced on and pinned. I fought to get my attacker off me until I seen the familiar golden colour of my dad.
"Dad?" I said confused. He just kept me pushed down. Suddenly it all made sense. Timon and Pumba cut up and bloody, Timon screaming and backing away.
"Dad I-I didn't do-" I tried to plead but he wasn't having it.
"Silence!" He interrupted me. "You attacked my best friends and your friend Bunga friends" he said.
"I didn't I swear" I said trying to plead with him. It was then I seen that the whole pride and even the guard was there looking at me with disgusted faces.
"Guys please believe me, I didn't do this" I said tears starting to stream from my face. But somehow I knew it was pointless.
There was too much blood to scent any hyenas and dad had obviously seen Timon moving away from me, screaming.
"Rafiki, how are they?" my dad asked still on top of me. I seen Rafiki shake his head.
"I'm afraid that they are unconscious and in a comatose state. When they will wake up in do not know my king" he said.
"I can't believe this!" he said pushing down. I cried out as I felt a few of my ribs move around.
"Dad stop, you're hurting me" I said crying out. I seen my mom's face lighten but she still didn't do anything to help.
"I don't care. Timon and Pumba raised me when Scar took away my father and you might have killed them" he said. Suddenly I felt rage building up inside me.
"I DIDN'T DO IT!!" I yelled throwing him off with a burst of strenght that I don't know where it came from. I then got up and turned to faced him now.
"Just because you're paranoid about everything and everyone doesn't mean that they're all out to get you" I snarled out before I calmed down a little.
"Janja and his clan attacked Timon and Pumba and that's the truth. If you can't believe me, then say it and I'll go" I said through gritted teeth as thunder boomed behind me.
I expected him to agree, to acknowledge the thundering behind me to show I still had the roar of the elders, therefore I didn't do something evil. But he didn't notice or didn't care, or maybe both.
"I'm sorry Kion, but I don't believe you" he said. I was taken back as I felt even more tears come from my eyes.
However more rage came over me. I started to breath slow and deep breaths while looking down. I then met his gaze and gave him the most stone and hate-filled glare I could which made him back up a little as did my pride.
"Fine. Then let's see just how well you do without me" I said before I turned and roared at the main river.
My roar sent the water back upstream so far and I didn't stop roaring until I couldn't see it anymore. It would not return for at least a few days. I turned back to my father before looking at my shoulder. The mark disappeared instantly as did the ones on the Guard's shoulders.
"Or the Lion Guard" I said before I turned and ran away towards the Outlands. Towards Vitani. She's the only one who will believe me.
I stopped at the boarder and turned. No one was coming after me. Not my mom, my sister, the guard. No one. I let a few more tears fall before I crossed a dead log and entered the Outlands.
Nightfall
I waited until nightfall to enter Zira's territory in the Outlands so I didn't have to worry about getting caught. I watched the termite mound that they used for a main den from a distance. But was still close enough that she could still see me when she exited.
Tonight was supposed to be the night that we normally meet up at Flat Ridge Rock. Soon enough I seen a peach coloured lioness exit the den and begin walking towards the Pridelands.
I stood up at my full height and she seen me on the ridge because she stopped for a second before she began walking towards me.
"Kion?" she said in shock and confusion reaching the spot where I had been sitting.
"What are you doing here? If mother finds you here, she- what's wrong?" she asked probably seeing the tear stains on my face.
I had been crying the entire day so it makes sense that the stains would be visible. I explained to her what had happened, what everyone now thought about me, what they thought I did.
"Oh Kion. I'm so sorry" she said putting her head under my chin and purring, trying to cheer me up. I blushed at this gesture and I think she was too.
"I'm leaving Vitani. I can't stay here. Too many memories, good and bad" I said. Was I really about to do this? Maybe it's best if if I don't. No! I got to tell her, this might be the last time I see her.
"But I came here to confess something. Vitani, ever since I first seen your violet eyes and your beautiful fur... I've been in love with you" I confessed. I felt her tense up and I was afraid that she was going to attack me or rat me out.
I felt her head leave my chin and I closed my eyes, thinking that I had just ruined the last friendship I had. But then I felt a tongue lick the side of my face.
My eyes shot open and I looked at her. She was crying but she also had a huge smile.
"I love you too" she said. I chuckled nervously before we nuzzled each other for a few minutes. Then an idea came to my mind.
"Run away with me. We'll start our own pride, all our own. No one will tell us what to do, where we can go" I said. She smiled but looked at the den before looking back at me.
"Can my friends come? They don't deserve to be soldiers in a war that they don't want to be in" she said. I smiled and nodded.
She licked me again before running back towards the den. After a few minutes, she emerged with her friends and a few other lionesses. I watched as she led them up the hill. Once the lionesses who I didn't know see me, they froze for a moment but then kept coming.
"Kion these lions also don't want in the war, can they come too?" she asked sweetly. I smiled before nodding.
"Well now how can I say no to that?" I said as we nuzzled against each others head. I heard a mixed awws come from the group, mostly from her friends.
"So what's the plan?" She said in a questioning manner. I looked behind the Outlands towards the green lands to the North. The opposite way of the Pridelands. If Zira cared more about her pride than she did revenge, she probably would've been there
"Where ever we want" I said smiling as Vitani stood beside me and smiled widely as well
