‧˚✧ 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗦𝗜𝗥𝗘𝗡 rang just as i pulled up to school.
"fuck." i muttered to myself, i'm basically always late, i once had three late cards in the space of a week. mattia however, sure, he has those days when he's actually early but besides that, he's always late, yet hasn't missed a day of school this past month. how strange. i quickly ran into the school, down the hall to my first period, science. i saw the door was closed so i knocked. my teacher miss. peña opened it.
"nevaeh, late, by 9 minutes." she said crossing her arms.
"yeah, yeah i know." i said rolling my eyes as i sat in one of the empty spots next to kairi, unfortunately i had this class with just him.
"nevaeh, late by 9 minutes." he mocked, i giggled at the tone in his voice, he raised it a bit lower since miss. peña had a pretty low voice for a woman.
"you still coming on friday?" he asked looking me in the eyes.
"kairi, stop flirting and pay attention." miss. peña chimed in, kai rolled his eyes.
"me? i would never flirt with one of my best friends." he assured smirking. miss. peña rolled her eyes and got back to whatever she was writing.
"so we're best friends now?" i asked, kairi smiled.
"yeah we are." he said putting his arm around me. we are actually best friends, i tell kai everything going on. even though he is good looking i wouldn't date him, i'll be happy once he finds a girlfriend.
"mkay short stuff." i said looking back at miss. peña.
"who you calling short?" he asked raising an eyebrow, lifting his arm off of my shouldered.
"boy you know you're shorter than me." i giggled, he stared at me blankly until he finally said something.
"mhm and don't act like you don't like mattia." he smiled.
"kairi stop playing i don't like mattia." i said rolling my eyes, he kept smiling no matter what my expression was.
"plus what does me liking mattia have anything to do with what we were talking about?"
"just thought to bring it up, see how you'd react." he smirked.
this smartass.
all i did was roll my eyes and kept on working. this was only my first period and someone had to bring this up. i liked mattia for like a month, i told kairi, he didn't say anything, now that i have absolutely no feelings for mattia, kai has to bring it up.

i walked back to my car until i felt a slight tap on my shoulder. i turned to see mattia.
"hey." he said kinda awkwardly, i looked at him closely, he was sweating.
"hey tia." i smiled, walking towards my car, mattia following behind me.
"i was wondering if you wanted to come over." he asked, i stopped in my tracks and looked at him, he was running his fingers through his hair.
"what?" i asked, i was kinda confused, i barely go over to his house anymore.
"i just wanted to see if you'd come over." he smiled.
"is anyone else gonna come?" i questioned, unlocking my car.
"uh, yeah the boys." he smiled as he leaned on the car window.
"can invite reneé?" i asked.
"sure." he said scratching the back of his neck, all of a sudden he acts so weird.
"what time?" i asked opening the door and sitting in the drivers seat.
"five." he said smiling, "i'm pretty sure the boys might be staying over, you can if you want to."
"i probably will, thanks tia." i smiled back, slowly closing the door.
"see you then."
"bye tia." i replied smiling, i reversed out of the parking lot and drove off. i quickly texted reneé if she was coming, she said she was busy.

i had a quick little shower and got dressed into grey sweats and a grey croptop. i put my slides on and tied my hair into a low bun, i got everything else i needed. i asked my mom if i could go, she said it was fine. i hopped in my car until my phone suddenly lit up, indicating i had got a notification, i tapped on it, realising it was from mattia.

i got out of my car and grabbed my stuff, i knocked on the front door and was greeted by mattia's dad.
"nevaeh, so good to see you." he smiled, we hugged and he let me in. as i walked in mattia's little brother bolted towards me, i haven't seen him in forever. we hugged for a little. mattia's mom was in the kitchen, i greeted her as well. mattia's parents are so nice.
kairi came rushing downstairs, followed by roshaun.
"nevaehh." roshaun said putting his arm around my shoulder. i haven't seen him around school in a while.
"i thought you were dead, i barely see you around school anymore." he chuckled at my statement, we all walked upstairs into mattia's room. it smelt like him, his led lights were set to purple, it gave off a purple hue on the white walls and everyone's skin. alejandro, mattia and robert were in his room, all eyes were on me.
"you guys are acting like you've never seen me before." i giggled sitting on mattia's bed, next to robert.
the boys made tik toks, i joined in a few too.
we were all having a great time, the boys were cracking pointless jokes, making tik toks and all. i like spending time with them, even though i'm the only girl. i sat on mattia's spinning desk chair, i looked through his drawers, he doesn't really mind. i shuffled through paper, pens, a few condoms and empty gum packs. all until i came across something that felt pointy, i took it out of the drawer, it was a white envelope, before i was able to take a good look at it mattia snatched it out of my hand.
"why the fuck are you going through my drawers?" he asked angrily, i didnt know he could get so worked up over a little envelope.
"all the other times i've gone through your drawers you never get pissed off."
"why do you even go through my drawers?" he asked putting the envelope in his pocket.
"i dunno, bored." i replied shrugging, he rolled his eyes as i kept spinning on his chair.
"whatever, just don't fucking touch the envelope nevaeh."
i stayed quiet, and went on my phone. mattia gets angry over the tiniest things, he scares me sometimes but i know he'd never do anything to hurt me. i need to find out what's in that envelope.
