As grandma asked, Tomioka Giyuu, frequently appeared to drink some tea with her and to hang out with me. He looked happy. And so were I . We were good friends.
He was a truly kind boy. He introduced me to his sister, who also was really nice.
(Okay everyone, if you guys don't know, Tomioka actually had a sibling in the manga, but she died by a demon).
It continued for almost 2 years. We would see each other a lot , and play a lot with
But everything that it's good don't last that long right...?
Our village got attacked by almost 40 demons. Almost everyone died. But I tried to run away with grandma.
Grandma and I tried to run, and I tried to carry her on my shoulders. I was little and didn't have any muscle but we were desperate. Leave her wasn't an option for me, and never was.
"Stop..Stop Sweetheart! Leave me here! I can deal with it!"
Grandma started apologizing.
"NO WAY! Grandma! I can't live without you! You're precious to me! Now let's get out of here!"
I Continued running with her in my arms. We had to get out of the village.
"Don't worry darling..I'm a retired demon slayer! I can deal with it .. at least for you run out of this hell."
She said almost crying and pushed me away.
"Grandma! That's not time to let out your creative side! We need to be quiet and run as fast as we can!"
I complained.
"It's not a lie..I'm so so sorry for having to tell you this in this moment..Your parents died fighting with a demon, he is known at this codename "Muzan". So you're the one who I should take care of. You need to grow stronger and healthier.You need to revenge your parents life! YOU NEED TO! I can take care of here until you scape.
Grandma pushed me away again.
"Grandma! We have no time! We need to get out of here... please understand!"
I was holding tears and couldn't even talk.
"GET OUT OF HERE RIGHT NOW! SCAPE ! DONT WORRY ABOUT ME! YOU NEED TO LEAVE!" Grandma's eyes were watering "I'm a retired demon slayer. And I'm not that old please! I can take care of here. NOW RUN! RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN!"
Grandma said tearing up.
I can't see her like this. And I also can't leave her beside me. She raised me as her kid. She's special and seeing her die it's not an option!
"I'm gonna be here."
I replied.
"NO YOU-"
We were interrupted by a demon. That's what I think it were. It didn't look like the others. The others were disfigured and smelled like rotten meat.
It looked like a human.
It looked like a woman?
It has red eyes, and a brown long hair.
A light skin.
"GRANDMA! COME ON GET UP HERE!"
I gave up and took her hand. Pushing her close to me strongly.
"Stop..I'm sorry Y/N . You will understand in the future."
She stabbed my hand and runned towards the demon with her sword.
"Ah?You fool human. You really think that I will die to a mere sword?"
The demon tried to grab grandma, but she cut it arms out.
I couldn't breath. It was so much for a kid mind. It was too much to process.
But the demon didn't look hurt. It had a look of wanting to kill. That it was craving blood.
It looked like it came directly from hell.
He cut her neck out without a single remorse.
It was there standing like the most disgusting creature alive. I couldn't keep and I threw up in adrenaline. She killed grandma. It killed my only family member.
I've never been so scared, so mad, and so disgusted.
It doesn't have feelings? It doesn't have a family? Why would he do this to people? Why did it had to come to my only family member? Why did he kill grandma? Why didn't he kill me instead? WHY!?
I was ready for the demon to eat me or kill me since he killed grandma. I was there on my knees. Speechless. Soul less. I didn't want to live without her. I just happened to see my own grandma dying.
"Don't worry child. I won't hurt you if you cooperate with me. So will you help me?"
The disgusting living asked.
"W-What do you want from me! You took my only family! YOURE A MONSTER! DON'T GET CLOSE TO ME! STAY AWAY!"
I screamed to the top of my lungs.
I couldn't help it.
I was so upset.
I was so terrified.
"How ingenious.. But you know, I could make you soo strong..Wouldn't you like to be strong? If you were at least strong enough you would be able to protect this woman. Wouldn't you? ..Now how about help me with my experiment and come with me?"
The demon walked in my direction with its hands reaching out.
"Stay away from me..OR I WILL KILL YOU!"
I stabbed it hands.
I couldn't help but act without realizing that I'm just a kid and he's a demon.
But I couldn't stay still.
"I see..I was trying to be what you humans call, merciful? But you decided to be a brat even with me even if I were even sparing you from the rest. You could have been a potential. But since it looks like you don't want to.. I will have to end you."
The demon started to get closer. It scared me so much that it could talk properly, and even looked like a human.
I was there gagging and terrified. I didn't know what to do but I thought it was the end for me but..Someone stood in front of me.
It was a man. It had a sword. And used a kitsune mask, with a really really long nose. Used a yellow haori and really tall Geta's.
"Run."
The man said.
"W-What? What about you? What about grandma?"
I said gagging of fear.
"Run. Don't look back. Don't worry.Now"
The man looked at me and pulled out his big sword.
Scared, I ran. I ran so fast. I don't even know how my legs could run so much.
I had to catch my breath and stopped for a bit.
I guess I were already far away from the village.
I could feel a vibration. It were something about to approach me in some miles.
'I should hide. Y/N think somewhere to hide and fast!'
I started to look around and saw a big tree. Couldn't think twice about climbing it to the top.
"It's approaching.." I felt some vibrations getting near.
"Are you here?"
A familiar voice called.
It was the men who saved me.
"I'm here!"
I called him up the tree.
He didn't say anything. Just made a signal for me to get down the tree.
When I went down, I saw that he were holding a big piece of cloth and something were inside of it.
"Let's give your grandma a proper place to rest. Follow me."
He coldly said.
I didn't have elsewhere to go. So I just followed him , and after some minutes we reached to a small house.
"It's cold. Enter the house and tomorrow you can see your grandma again. Eat something too. I have food inside the pot and water in the jar."
He opened the door.
I nodded and went in. Carefully looked where I was at.
It was a cozy small house. Two little floors and a pretty little kitchen.
The food smelled so good. Like grandma's. It was a chicken stew with vegetables. Looked delicious so I ate some.
Couldn't help but sit on the chair. I was so tired with everything that happened that night that I fell asleep right there.
The next day I woke up in a different room.
I was laying down in comfortable bed, a really cozy bed. And there were some new clothes at the side.
I got up and put the clothes on. It was a pretty haori.
There was also a piece of paper with a message on it.
It said: If you're awake, go downstairs and open the door.
That's what I did.
There was the man. He looked like he was waiting.
"Follow me. And if you see any pretty flowers in the way pick them."
I nodded and walked behind him. He was walking me into a pretty place. It looked like a forest only of flowers.
I picked a lot. The type that grandma would put in our house and some different ones.
Suddenly we stopped. In front of a grave.
"I put your grandma in here. I think that she will be happy to be in such a colorful place am I right..? When you finish your things here, just call me."
"Thank you so much..I'm sure grandma is really happy to be in such a beautiful place."
He walked away .
"Grandma..Is pretty in here right? I think it's really pretty right..!"
I teared up.
"Im so sorry for being too weak! I couldn't even protect you! I couldn't stood up for myself even if you protected me. But I'm sure that I will become so strong, and I will protect people! I will protect my friends...Please I hope that you're happy in the place that you are right now and..I hope that you can forgive me for being weak. I promise I will get my revenge for my parents and you. Don't worry!"
I put the flowers , bowed and payed respect.
"Here grandma, take these beautiful flowers!"
I left the place. I felt so much lighter, as if grandma accepted my promise and was cheering up for me.
I couldn't feel happy. Everything happened yesterday, it was too fast for anyone. But I could feel determinant.
Time passed by. Some years to be exactly.
I spent this time with my new sensei. The man that saved me that night. Hisashi san. One of the only people I respect. He's like a father, a father figure that I didn't have. He looks cold outside but he's actually a really nice person. He likes to take care of flowers and have a lot of snow foxes around the area so he takes care of them too.
He trained me, I confess that I was nothing easy, it was so SO HARD. There were some days that I would train up to 2 weeks straight and without proper food. Only some silver fruits. Days that made me want to quit. But he encouraged me to continue. I made a promise. I can't break it
I had a lot of scars, but in my feet. I would walk for days without sandals or shoes since my especially is feeling the vibrations on the ground.
It's something that always stood out about me. I'm sensitive about who is approaching me and I can feel it in miles away.
I want to be able to protect my friends. I want to be able to one day finally have the courage to return my village. I want to search for Tomioka. I want to look for my old friends. I want to know if they're alive.
I need to get stronger and then I will be able to protect my loved ones. And exterminate all the demons.
I want to protect people.
I want to become a Demon Slayer.
I kinda got sentimental writing this chapter. Since It's really sad that this happened to a 14 year old girl and Y/n is trying to stood up for her mistakes in the past and become stronger.
There's more in the next chapter, now it's where the things will start going.
