"Disney world disney world" Darcy chanted while flailing my purse around. My arms lifted her up and the other grabbed my bag out of her hand before things fell out. She wiggled her way out of my arms and proceeded to run the other way. "Get back here" I yelled while holding open my arms.
She giggled before running farther away from me. After minted of chasing her around I scooped her up into my arms before attacking her with tickles. She started to move around in my arms while laughing wildly.
"Uh oh is mommy torturing you" Gemma joked while walking into the room.
"Yes" Darcy panted while trying to catch her breath. "This little monster took my purse huh" I said while messing up her hair. Darcy just gave me that big dimpled smile that reminds me so much of the man who left me for fame.
"Are you excited for Disney" Gemma poked Darcy's cheek. She nodded her head rapidly while looking at me up at me.
"Will darcy be on her best behavior" I sternly said while picking her up once again.I always find her in my arms. "Yes momwy" She cooed burring her head into my chest. I smiled in ease my hand rubbing the small of her back in comfort.
"Now lets go get grand mum Anne and head to the place of dreams" Gemma sung while walking into a different room. I picked up the bag of stuff Darcy might need before flinging it over my shoulder. I really feel old even though im 20. This mother responsibility in a way helped me mature. It gave me authority. Although i drastically changed my life - I will forever cherish her. Looking down at her and admiring her face as she dances around the sofa. She swung her hips and was flying her arms in the air. My focus slowly shifted when Anne walked into the room.
She held a stern look on her face and her arms crossed."Call me grandma one more time I might have to hit you upside the head with my walker " Anne warned Gemma as we entered the room. She must of heard the previous conversation when Gemma called her a grand mum. Anne actually looks very young. Her dark brown hair and her small petite body she looks nearly 47.
"Now are you all ready to catch the tram over to the park" Anne asked grabbing her bag and some maps that were sprawled across the counter. We all nodded and I ran into my room to grab my stuff. I stuffed all the passes into my purse as well as water just encase Darcy gets dehydrated. I put on a pair of sunglasses and stopped to look in the mirror to adjust my top.
We took the elevator down and walked across the lobby. The hotel we are staying at is a disney hotel.Right int he middle of the lobby was a tram that connected us to the other station that will lead us to the park. Saving us nearly a hour of trying to find a parking spot. The tram was approaching- I held Darcy back by her light pink lady bug backpack so she wasn't too close to the edge. All of us loaded onto the tram car. Darcy pushed herself up and onto my lab as I wrapped my arms around her body.
"Hold on tight Darcy the tram moved fast." I informed her. We began to move and my body shifted forward due to the drastic change in speed. Darcy grips me tight as the tram takes off. "Isn't this fun" Gemma smiled while looking out the windows taking pictures. Looking out the window I saw the beautiful lake surrounding with green trees and gorgeous flowers. Darcy peered over my shoulder taking everything in. Gemma wanted a picture of all of us so we gathered closely to each other.Darcy was sitting in my lap while Anne and Gemma sat next to us- sandwiching us in. We all smiled largely as the flash went off. She pulled her phone into her lap and typed rapidly.
I had gotten a twitter notification on my home screen . She had posted the picture of us on the tram onto twitter. We all looked so cute in the picture. The caption was 'disney world with my cuties ' Darcy while smiling wide as I looked at her lovingly. Gemma was making an ugly face while Anne remained to be the only one looking normal.
I screen shotted the picture and turned my phone off placing in my purse. I bounced Darcy lightly on my lap as we waited to arrive. I couldn't help but notice a father playing with his daughter. Lifted her up into the air and giving her kisses on her cheeks. She laughed loudly as he grinned pulling her in for a hug. A twang hit my heart realizing Darcy doesn't have that. A fatherly connection.
Now I have to count down the years before she ask's that question. Gemma was gazing out the window looking at the palm trees. As I sat in silence. Soon we were going into the park and all the colors filled my vision. The sign at the entrance of the park filled my view. "We are here baby girl" I whispered whole giving Darcys forehead a kiss.
The tram came to a stop and everyone was getting off. Darcy was on my hip while Anne and Gemma trailed behind. We slide our passes and walked through. Disney was so beautiful, the buildings and landscape.
"Hold on ladies be right back" Anne excused herself before running off. Me Darcy and Gemma sat down on a nearby park bench. Darcy couldn't hold still I managed to snap a few pictures. My hands played with her curls as we waited for Anne to return.
"Your a good mom you know" Gemma joked leaning into me. I gave her a soft smile, "Well she is my pride and joy."
Darcy was just looking around in amazement. Anne came running back with a bag. "Here you go since we are in disney you need to have mickey ears" She smiled handing everyone their own.
Darcy had a cute princess pair that were pink. She squealed as I placed them onto her head. I snapped a picture and posted it on Instagram, the caption was 'my princess'. Me and Gemma had a sparkly pair as Anne had a plain pair.
"Now lets go exploring yeah" I said setting Darcy down she insisted on wanting to walk. She held my hand as she ran off pulling me behind her. I heard Gemma laugh at her eagerness to explore. I smiled as I followed her actions.
Before the rides Darcy wanted to meet the princesses. The only thing she ever talks about is the princesses- she absolutely loves them. She was starstruck when she first met them. She stood awkwardly next to them without saying a word. I took pictures and we moved along.
"Having fun" I asked Anne who was scrolling through her phone. She looked up at me, "Oh yeah I am robin is just checking in" She smiled while tucking a piece of hair behind her ear.
We walked up the main street then hit the park the castle lay straight ahead of me. Glancing around the first thing in site was the teacups. "Mommy lets go on them" Darcy squealed tugging at my arm. I nodded as we walked in the line.
Gemma and Anne even went on. Me and Anne relaxed as Gemma and Darcy spun the cup giggling like maniacs. The cup swirled and twirled before it came to a stop. I felt slightly dizzy and chuckled while Darcy stumbled around.
"Thats what happens when you spin like crazy love" I laugh and help her gain her balance so she didn't fall over.
"Am I mistaken on who the kid is here" I smiled while nudging Gemma's back jokingly. She shrugged her shoulders and smiled. We decided to walk further into the park. Then I saw the dumbo ride as I mentally groaned.
"Mommy- mommy that ride!" Darcy yelled pointing to the flying elephants. Gemma looked at me with a smirk. "Mama duty calls" She bowed as I flipped her off secretively. I picked Darcy up and walked into the line long line. I saw Gemma taking pictures let me mentally remind myself to kill her.
The man let us in and Darcy ran to the pink elephant, "Lets go on the pink one" She yelled with bright eyes. I nodded my head "anything for you baby. " I set her in my lap and I squeezed in.
Im pretty sure I looked ridicules and saw Gemma taking more pictures, but I focused on Darcy. She had a huge smile on her face and her dimples popping out again.
She gripped the wheel as the vehicle is lifted into the air. She starting flailing her hands around laughing. I just smiled at the sight of her. I feel bad for Harry, for missing out on something as precious as Darcy.
I just need to expect the fact that Darcy will never be a part of his life. I looked down at the smiling girl who will never have a dad. The ride came to a stop as I lead her out.
"How about grand mum gets you ice cream" Gemma cooed ruffling Darcy's curls around. Anne shot Gemma a look for calling her Grand mum.
Just sitting here with these people made me happy. I may never be with Harry, but Gemma and Anne is the only comfort I need.
"So how was the flying elephants" Gemma nudged my shoulder. I gave her a playful glare, "one day when you will have a daughter you will understand" I wiggled a finger in front of her. "Touché" She muttered as a loud laugh escaped my lips.
"It sucks though seeing all these fathers with their daughters, knowing Darcy will never have that" I sighed while looking at my little girl stand on her tippy toes to look at the ice cream menu.
"I know its tough, you can tell Harry about her- I know him-he will understand." I looked at Gemma with a frown while letting out a sigh.
"You don't understand. His career is taking off this would just hold him back. I need to except that" I ran a hand through my hair.
Gemma looked like she was about to talk before she was interrupted. "Mommy look its mickey" She held up a mickey shaped ice cream cone. She had chocolate covering her face as I wiped it off.
"Yes it is baby" She giggled while turning around to Anne. "Thank you grand mum Anne" she softly said licking her ice cream.
"Shall we continue this fun day" Gemma smiled as we all stood up. we all nodded and walked further into the park.
