VIRGINIA HAWTHORNE WAS THE DEFINITION of hot-headed. She was quick to anger, hard to please, and had the worst RBF the world had ever seen. She had only three friends because only three people could really stand her demeanor. To say it plainly, she was a bitch. And she liked it that way.
If Vee was anything other than a bitch, people would point out her faults. They would point out that she's got the red hair, freckles, and name of a Weasley. They would point out that she was hardly a witch—she could maybe do things people her age achieved in their second year. They would point out that she follows Draco Malfoy around like a lost puppy because without him she would fade into the shadows. She was mean, though, and her temper was as fiery as her hair. No one would dare call Vee Hawthorne out.
Well, until Ron Weasley came along.
His first mistake was calling her Ginny. His second mistake was pointing out her dependence on Draco. His third mistake was saying that her witchcraft skills "needed work". Being a bitch not only protected Vee, but it protected people like Ronald Weasley. Vee found out at a young age that if she got really really angry, people could end up dead.
And she didn't want Ron to face the fire.
So yeah, Virginia Hawthorne was a hot-head. She was a hot-head to protect herself and others. She was a hot-head to make a name for herself.
She was a hot-head so Ron Weasley would leave her alone.
