(Free verse)
They told us that these were supposed to be the best.
but we had no clue!
We weren't given anything at all, not one thing!
We were unprepared like a new parent with a newborn
They expect us to know like we know how to breathe.
Our parents didn't know.
It was all in plain English
Yet it seems it was written in Greek writing!
But we're pushing through
Even the late nights of no sleep
with the bags under our eyes
The snacking we do to avoid going out of our room.
The searching of parking in the cold early morning.
Running to one class to another.
Taking a nap in between classes, anywhere!
Doing last minute assignment before class start.
Eating on the go.
Then, the sense of relief when falling on to the bed at the end of the day
I miss my friends.
Missing the late nights out
Missing the feeling of not having something due the night before.
The day without studying.
The sleep I used to do.
Feeling of Freedom!
The feeling of having Fun!
Instead, we have the feeling of stress!
But we're almost there!
I'm not losing hope!
I just need to have the strength of a thousand men to pull myself out of bed.
The intelligence I need for each subject!
The faith that I will finish!
Then I will finish with a smile of relief and running toward the sunset
with a piece of paper handed to me saying "you're done!"
