GuWeiTing had another sleepless night. In the early morning when he was just about to wash up, he heard thundering and powerful footsteps entering the room.
Without turning his head, he already knew who had come.
He did not expect GuHai to be able to restrain his temper, even going so far as to come now.
"What exactly did you say to YinZi?"
What GuWeiTing hated the most was the tone GuHai use to ask him this question. Even if he was old and paralyzed in bed, his son should not use this tone to speak to him.
"I just told him that I don't approve of you and him being together." GuWeiTing bluntly responded.
GuHai's pupils dilated to a level of chillness that seeped deep into his bones, "Your reason?"
"My reason?" GuWeiTing wiped his face and said casually, "If he could help you give birth to my grandchild, I would immediately accept him."
GuHai clenched his fist and shivered uncontrollably. Binding it for a long time, he finally exploded.
"Starting tomorrow, I will go gather a group of surrogate mothers to try and give you 180 grandchildren in a year! Then, I will completely disappear from your eyes to avoid being your eyesore!"
It had been nine years; GuWeiTing had thought that GuHai had past the age of loudly shouting and roaring. But, he had come to realize that a person's maturity is not based on age, but rather on the event. In all these years, the reason he had remained calm and open-minded was not because he had matured. It was merely because he had no motivation to continue on to such extremes.
Once he has found that motivation, he would immediately tear off this hypocritical mask and continue with these war-of-words with him. So much, that he would not hesitate to use his foul mouth to hurt people; regardless of this person's identity as his own father or this person's years of care and consideration for him.
After being aware of this point, GuWeiTing's words showed even less mercy.
"You don't have to worry. Not to mention 180, even if there was one, I, GuWeiTing, would not look at you once."
GuHai felt a deep sense of despair, only because in his father's eyes, his son's happiness is placed so low.
"He gave up eight years of his youth for me and paid the price of losing his loved ones. As for you, what have you given up for me? Did you give up the woman that you had disappointed for more than ten years? Did you pay the price of giving up on a marriage that you know I absolutely hated? If you think that by giving me life and supporting me for more than ten years is your selfless love. Then, I will fully return it all to you! I will let you taste what it feels like to be ignored for more than a decade, being tossed to nannies and thrown with a stack of money!"
"In your eyes, I am not a flesh and blood person, not a person with a personality. I'm just your private property. During your young and vigorous period, you could forsake your family for your dreams, but I can't even choose the career that I wanted. And during the time that you became successful in your career, in order to marry a beautiful woman, you allowed your own son to leave home and wander about, but I can't even be together with the person I love..."
"In your eyes, everything you do is reasonable, and everything I do is absurd."
"To be honest, you use this pretense as my father to morally kidnap me! You used your privilege as my father to do whatever you please with me! I get beaten and scolded, I accept it all. Who am I, but your son? Who is it, but you, who gave me life?"
"But what did BaiLuoYin owe you? For what reasons did he charge into the battlefield to secure your position? For what reasons did he risk his life to achieve the bit of honors to defend your reputation? He's someone else's offspring! He did not eat any of your Gu family's rice! He did not touch any of your GuWeiTing's limelight! If he wanted me, GuHai, to betray my own family, he only needed to say it and I will immediately leave with him."
"Why is it so hard for your heart to open up?"
Having said these words, GuHai left without turning his head. Like a farewell ceremony, tragic and desolate.
GuWeiTing's heart suddenly cracked a big hole.
He drove to the cemetery and placed a bouquet of flowers respectfully on his ex-wife's tombstone.
The flowers set off a year of brightness in the warm and gentle air. After a long gaze, his heart finally quieted down.
The hustle and bustle of the outside world was gone, leaving only the good warm memories from twenty years ago.
GuHai's birth was unexpected. GuWeiTing remembered that when he first saw the baby, he had no clear concept of father and son, but merely felt that the burden on his shoulder was heavier.
Unexpectedly, more than twenty years have passed by in a flash. He had come to the point where his son had become so important in his life.
"Was what I did, really wrong?"
GuWeiTing quietly asked.

BaiLuoYin's helicopter landed in the vast prairies of Tibet. Getting out of the cockpit, the air around him is refreshingly different. After a lapse of nine years, he had returned once again, as if time had flowed backwards. With blue skies and clear water, this place was just as breathtakingly beautiful as before. It seemed like he had found a little of his fearlessness from the past and his adventurous spirit to travel around the world。
Looking around, there is a small village not far away. The houses are sparse, the sounds of herders herding sheep dissipated in the upward curling smoke from the chimneys. BaiLuoYin picked up the water bottle and drank a few big gulps. Suddenly, he heard a strange voice.
BaiLuoYin turned his head and was suddenly startled. Behind all the sheep, a rough looking boy was standing in the middle shyly looking at him.
BaiLuoYin thought he was blocking the herd of sheep so he moved a few big steps to the side. As a result, the boy walked over to him and the sheep also surrounded them in groups.
"Do you need something?" BaiLuoYin asked first.
The boy shyly smile then pointed at the helicopter. He asked in a clear voice, "Is that yours?"
BaiLuoYin nodded.
"Wow!" The boy's expression was that of simple admiration and envy.
BaiLuoYin couldn't help but smile, "Do you want to go inside and sit?"
The boy fiercely nodded.
"Follow me!"
But when the cockpit door opened, the boy instead hesitated. His small face revealed a bit of cautiousness. Perhaps he had just realized how much bigger the helicopter was compared to what he imagined; perhaps he was worried that the helicopter could fall and crash. In short, he was afraid.
"It's alright, it's very stable." BaiLuoYin patted the boy's shoulder.
Encouraged by the BaiLuoYin, the boy finally climbed into cockpit with his legs trembling. Then he sat on the co-pilot's seat, looking nervous. BaiLuoYin started the helicopter; the helicopter's body shook for a while and began to rise slowly.
"Wwwwwoooooww."
Flying up to about five meters in the air, the boy began to wildly shout for a full twenty seconds, BaiLuoYin's ears almost felt numbed. This kid is indeed a native baby of the plateau, his voice is very strong and his lung capacity is really big.
Gradually, the boy stopped shouting. Leaning in front of the helicopter's window, curiously looking down, and his herd of sheep had already become just a dot.
"Are not you afraid of your sheep being stolen?" asked BaiLuoYin.
The boy shook his head, "No one will steal it, only the wolf will steal."
Flying for a while, BaiLuoYin slowly landed the helicopter. Clearly, it was not enough for the boy. He stayed in the cockpit and did not want to leave. Touching here and there for a while, his face is full of curiosity.
"How about I give you this helicopter," said BaiLuoYin.
The boy was shock, "Giving it to me?"
"Yes," BaiLuoYin said seriously, "I give you the helicopter and you give me the sheep, how's that?"
This was a beneficial exchange, but unexpectedly the boy did not even hesitate and shook his head.
"No, I won't exchange."
BaiLuoYin was bewildered, "Why? My helicopter is worth much more money than your sheep. You can sell it. With the money, it's enough for you to buy a few thousand sheep."
The boy still shook his head, "Not able to sell it."
BaiLuoYin smirked, "You are really honest."
"I did not raise ducks," said the boy.
BaiLuoYin laughed again and gain. He laughed so hard that his ribs almost cracked.
The boy followed him and laughed, at the same time praising BaiLuoYin, "You look good when you laugh."
"Let's go!" BaiLuoYin put his hand on the boy's shoulder.
No one would ever have thought that BaiLuoYin would actually fly a helicopter to herd sheep in the prairie.
The helicopter was flying at a low altitude; the flock of sheep ran in front. The boy's shouting sound is like a soul praising song; BaiLuoYin couldn't help but follow along.
That evening, BaiLuoYin followed the boy to the local herdsman's home.
The conditions in the plateau are extremely harsh. The food is hard to swallow, but fortunately BaiLuoYin have camped outside often for many years in training, so he could quickly adapt to this rough environment.
Before going to sleep at night, BaiLuoYin put his arms under his head and turned to look at the boy on the side.
"What are you going to do tomorrow?"
The boy's voice could not conceal his excitement, "Herd sheep! Sit in the helicopter! Oh Oh......"
BaiLuoYin was curious, "What do you do every day?"
"Herd sheep!" The boy said without thinking.
"Besides herding sheep?"
The boy thought, "Eat, sleep, go toilet."
That's the same as not speaking......BaiLuoYin asked again, "You don't have to go to school?"
Speaking of this matter, the boy looked very proud.
"My dad said that only those children who can't herd sheep have to go to school. I have never been to school."
At first, BaiLuoYin did not understand this concept. Then, he suddenly realized that this person is wise! Instead of letting the child wandered to the outside world and be exposed to all sorts of hardships in a society that will corrupt him till nothing is left, he might as well, from the beginning, let him live in this natural habitat between heaven and earth and live a simple carefree and happy life.
The next day, BaiLuoYin flew the helicopter to herd sheep, and did that for three days.
