I laid awake that night, waiting. When it happened i was ready. I felt myself stand up and leave the common room. I walked to the girls bathroom and opened the sink. My eyes closed and the snake slithered its way through to the surface. I commanded it to attack and it obeyed Then i went back to bed.
The next day, i walked down to the pitch with harry and Ron. Only to find out the match was canceled and we had to go with Mcgonagall to the Hospital wing. When we got there i was the first one to see it. Laying on the bed motionless, was Hermione but there was someone else there to,Corith lay in the bed next hers. A tear fell down my check and i sat down next to her.
" Corith" i mumbled and harry wrapped his arms around me. I cried into his shoulder.
" they were found in the library, this morning. Holding this" Mcgonagall held up a mirror. I gulped not taking my eyes off Hermione." she will be alright soon don't you worry" then turned and left. I sat there a couple more minutes then got up and ran from the room in tears. I ran down to the lake and crumbled to the ground. I shut my eyes blocking out the pain in my heart. Then making sure no one was watching i pulled out the diary but before i could a message appeared.
Well done, Haylee. Attacking a Mudblood and half-blood
She isn't a Mudblood, she's my friend, you creep both of them are
Maybe the snake should have gone after your brother, instead

I closed the book and went up to the common room. I sat down next to Harry and sighed. He looked at me and frowned. His eyes weren't on my face but my bag, then i realized the diary was poking out of it. I stood up and ran up to the dorm. I sat down on my bed with tears in my eyes. I looked over to see Fefe on her bed with her headphones in.
" Fefe, did you hear about Corith " she nodded putting some sort of candy in her mouth. I smiled when i realized they were skittles. I heard footsteps on the stair case leading up here and that annoying lavender brown walked into the room. I hated her, she was always whining about her life. I rolled my eyes as she plopped down on her bed and started whining.
After everyone was sleep i pulled out the diary to find a message.
Come to the chamber, Haylee its time
I closed the diary and slipped it into my pocket. I grabbed my wand as well then left the common room. Avoiding Filtch i made my way towards the girls bathroom. I jumped and slid down the pipe, landing on my knees in a pile of bones. I stood up and followed the path to a door with snakes on it.
" open" i told it and it did, then i stepped inside. The door closed behind me with a snap and i climbed down the ladder. I saw someone standing at the end of the tunnel, at the persons feet was a girl with flaming red hair. It was Ginny, my eyes widened and i ran over to her. I looked up at Tom to see him smirking
" you said you would leave her out of it" i snapped getting to my feet. He chuckled" and i did tell you that i lie" he took a step toward me and i took a step back
" then why did you call me down here"
" to witness the return of Voldemort" he said calmly and stood there in shook
" your crazy" i took a step backwards and he smiled. He grabbed my wrist and i cried out in pain as my scar burned like it was on fire. I fell to my knees but he didn't let go. Tears Fell down my cheeks. I felt the diary fall out of my pocket. He let go of me and i just laid there. Ginny looked so pale.
" what are you doing to her" i whispered.
" as she grows weaker, i grow stronger." he said as he picked up the diary." your nothing but a creep"i winced in pain.
" little Ginny, told me the story of how you survived, a little girl with nothing special but a memory. How two babies defeated the greatest wizard in the world"
" your not the greatest,Dumbledore is" I yelled at him through another wince and He glared down at me. We heard footsteps coming toward us echo throughout the room. He leaned down, picked up my wand, and aimed it at me.
" Silencio, Imobulus " he mumbled. My voice froze in my throat before i could argue or call for help, He smirked, turned and walked away. All i could do was blink. The footsteps got louder and harry ran past me toward Ginny, who lay next to me. He looked at me then back at Ginny and i saw sadness in his eyes.
I was turned away from them so I couldn't see what was going on
" Ginny, wake up, wake up" he pleaded
" she wont wake" i heard Tom say as he stepped toward Harry as he spun around. I tried to move but nothing worked.
" Tom ---- Tom riddle. What do you mean she wont wake, what about my sister"
" Ginny is alive, but only just. Your sister on the other hand, is only paralyzed"
" are you a ghost" he asked
" a memory, preserved in a diary for fifty years" he said pointing to the diary on the ground next to me.
" you've got to help me, Tom " he raised Ginny's head" we've got to get her out of here. There's a basilisk....I don't know where it is, but it could be along any moment...... Please help me------- " he was silent but then I heard his voice again" did you see ----- thanks"
" listen we've got to go if the basilisk comes -------"
" it won't come until its called"riddle explained, while they talked I tried to move again.
" what d'you mean, look give me my wand, I might need it ------"
" you won't be needing it" Tom said, I managed to move my hand, But not much.
" I've waited a long time for this Harry Potter " he smiled, I tried once again to move but only managed my foot. Tom was now explaining to Harry what happened and who attacked who. I saw harry glance at me and frown.
" Haylee, would never hurt anyone, same with Ginny"
" not willingly, but I persuaded them" I glared at him and he smirked." especially after I heard your stories from Ginny. How you both escaped with nothing but a scars, while lord Voldemort's powers were destroyed"
" why would you care how we escaped, Voldemort was after your time....."
" Voldemort is my past, present and future, Harry Potter..... " I managed to turn my head. " it seems my spell is Wearing off on your sister" he said as he took out his wand and wrote in the air three shimmering words:

Then he waved the wand through the air.

" you see" he whispered as i sat up Rubbing my head, i still couldn't speak." it was a name i was already using at Hogwarts, to my most intimate friends only, of course. You think i was going to use my filthy muggle fathers last name forever? I in whose veins runs the blood of Salazar Slytherin himself, through my mother's side? I, keep the name i, keep of a foul, common muggle who abandoned , just because he found out his wife was a witch? No, Harry ------ i fashioned my self a new name, a name i knew wizards everywhere would fear to speak, when i became the greatest sorcerer in world." if i could speak, i would have yelled at him but Harry said first.

" not the greatest sorcerer in the world, sorry to disappoint you and all but the greatest wizard in the world is Albus Dumbledore"

" he's not as gone as you might think" Tom went to retort, when music started to play. I looked up to see a beautiful red bird. I smiled, it was Dumbledore's phoenix.
I stood up as the bird dropped something in front of Harry, The sorting hat. Riddle starting laughing and i glared at him." this is what he sends his savior, a songbird and an old hat. Do you feel brave, safe." i picked up the hat and looked at it. I though about what it said when i was sorted, just looking at it i remembered his words.

I looked at Ginny, she looked so pale. While i stood there looking at the hat and Ginny. Harry was arguing with Tom." Now harry, I'm going to teach you a little lesson. Let's match the powers of lord Voldemort, heir of Slytherin against famous Harry Potter and the best weapons Dumbledore can give him... " I looked at Harry and frowned.
" why didn't you tell Dumbledore" I looked at the ground, I knew I still couldn't speak but I had to try. My voice came out horse but I managed" I'm sorry harry" his eyes widened"I told you I'm not brave enough. I was meant for Ravenclaw not Gryffindor. The hat made a mistake, even if it never does it did with me. I'll never match up to anyone, and don't you say it." I looked over to Tom whose back was to us. I heard the words and understood them but I still knew they were parslelmouh.
Speak to me, Slytherin, greatest of Hogwarts four" the mouth of the giant statue opened. My eyes widened as a giant snake slithered from the mouth. I shut my eyes as Harry backed away. Again Tom spoke.
Kill the boy but leave the girl
I felt it go past me but I didn't move. I heard a scream and opened my eyes as Tom yelled" no leave the bird, leave the bird. The boy is behind you. You can still smell him, kill him" I heard the splashing of water fade away as I opened my eyes. Harry and the serpent were no where in sight. I was alone with Ginny and Tom once more. I looked at Tom to see him smiling evilly at me and I took a step back away from him. He chuckled" don't worry, Haylee. I have use of you still. " I gulped as he walked closer
" why don't you just kill me, like you plan with harry" I asked him glaring.
" because, I could use someone like you, Haylee. A clever, little witch with an amazing memory" he circled me but I didn't move, I wasn't afraid of him. " but why me"
" something is locked in your memory, something I need and intend to have. Join me Haylee and we'll unlock it together" he held out his hand. I took a step away, shaking my
" you killed my parents, tried to kill me, and are trying to kill harry. You expect me to bend to your will after all you've done to me and other people. Think again Tom, I'll never join you" I yelled
" never say never" he retorted pulling out my wand and rising it to me.
" why are you giving it back to me" I asked confused
" it's not like you can defeat me, without hurting Ginny" I glared at him.
