“Have I mentioned that I’m nervous?” I squeaked in the limo.

Everyone gave me an amused smile. We were sitting in the large limo that seated all three Wests, Jackson, Tommy, and me, and we were parked right in front of the red carpet that led into the building where the premier was being held. Ropes were surrounding the isle and it was being swallowed by screaming teenage girls, flashing cameras, and reporters. I nervously clutched Kale’s hand in mine, I was surprised that I wasn’t crushing his hand.

“Only about a few hundred times.” Ryder teased.

If I wasn’t trembling with nerves, I would have stuck my tongue out at him. This Halloween premier was a lot bigger than I’d first anticipated, and camera flashes were flying around. I could hear the excited screams from inside the thick limo and the whole scene was exciting, yet nerve racking. Everybody else, of course, have been to their fair share of premiers so they were all feeding off of my nerves for entertainment.

“Okay, let’s go.” Jackson piped as the driver swung open the limo door, amplifying the sounds of the crowd outside. First, Tommy slid out with his arm over Andy’s shoulders. She was wearing a short, tight dress that was covered in shimmering black beads with her hair curled and bouncy.

Right when their heads popped out of the limo, screams and the snapping of cameras echoed through the air even louder.

I couldn’t help but laugh. “Oh my gosh, this is insane.” I said with a grin. It felt so weird to know people who were this famous, and in two seconds, I would be known as well. Sure, it’s just going to be Jackson Thorne’s sister, but people will know me. People are about to take my picture. This all felt so surreal still.

The people outside were even louder when Ryder popped out and then Jackson. I took one more deep breath before Kale leaned in and kissed my cheek.

“It’ll be okay. Just breathe and smile. You have a beautiful smile.” He whispered into my ear.

I blushed and a small smile creeped onto my face. “You’ll be with me the whole time?”

He nodded. “The whole time. I won’t let go.” He said, gripping my hand in his.

Again, I smiled and inched my way out of the limo. When I was standing up, the heads turned towards me and Kale but quickly adverted back to where Jackson and Ryder were waiting for me and Kale. Tommy and Andy had already been engulfed in the cameras and reporters along the red carpet. There was a long back drop of the movie promotions for people to take pictures in front of where a bunch of celebrities were smiling brightly right now. I’m pretty sure that I caught a glimpse of Demi Lavato.

When we got to Jackson and Ryder, they led us to the backdrop where Tommy and Andy were, taking pictures together with bright, shining smiles.

“Jackson, who is this?” One reporter asked when Jackson tried to say something to me over all the fans.

Jackson looked over to where the reporter was standing, waiting anxiously for an answer and then back to me. “Let me steal you really quick.”

I looked over to Kale and he gave me an encouraging smile before leaning down and kissing my cheek. “You’ll do great.” He whispered before releasing my hand.

I smiled at him before following Jackson over to a clear spot on the carpet, in front of a reporter wearing a nice suit and standing in front of a camera crew with a fancy microphone in his hand.

“Good evening, Jackson, I’m Daniel Porter with MTV News.” The reporter said into the microphone.

Jackson stretched his hand out and then professionally shook Mr. Porter’s hand. The reporter looked young, but he seemed to know what he was doing, I was impressed.

“So, I have to ask the question that all of America is going to be asking. Who is this lovely lady?” Mr. Porter asked, gesturing towards me.

I blushed and looked down at the ground, playing with the peach ruffles of my short dress.

“This is my sister, Holly.” Jackson said, using a friendly, camera voice. I didn’t like it, it didn’t suit him. I’ve heard it a lot, though. Since I’ve watched all of the award shows and talk shows and interviews that he’s done. But I like his normal voice. He’s not Jackson when he uses that friendly camera voice.

I looked up at Mr. Porter, forcing myself not to look at the camera in front of us, glaring at me and taunting me.

“You have a sister?” He asked.

“I do.” Jackson replied.

“Holly, where have you been? We’ve talked to Jackson through many events and you haven’t been around for any of them.” Daniel said in a confused voice.

“Um, M-Minnesota.” I stuttered nervously.

“So can you give us an embarrassing story about your brother from the baby years?”

I smirked up at Jackson, suddenly my nerves washed away slightly as his face tinged red.

“I have a lot of stories.” I grinned. “But his are much worse, so I’ll keep my mouth shut.”

I saw relief wash over Jackson’s face, and disappointment over Daniel’s before he continued asking Jackson about his random summer hiatus. Jackson explained that he was taking the summer off of his busy LA life to spend it with me, his beloved sister. I felt really important when he explained to the whole world that I was more important than his career. Yet, I also felt like I was holding him back.

Daniel went on to ask Jackson a bunch of other questions that I already knew the answers to so kept a vacant smile on my face but kind of zoned out until I felt a soft hand on my shoulder.

I spun around to see Kale standing there with a smile on his face. “Come over here.” He said, taking my hand in his. I waved a quick goodbye to Jackson and the reporter and followed Kale over to another clearing in the red carpet frenzy.

“What’s this?” I asked, looking around at the cameras surrounding us.

“Paparazzi.” He said simply.

“They don’t care about me, I’m not famous.” I reminded him.

“But they will when they hear that Jackson and Ryder’s little siblings are together.” Kale smirked, kissing my cheek in front of all of the cameras.

I giggled at the thought of Kale not being ashamed of being seen with me. Part of me thought that he would want to keep us away from the public, if they even cared. Which, according to the chaos of cameras surrounding us right now, I’d say that they cared.

I grinned, but I was still incredibly nervous inside. I basically leaned onto Kale for stability as he had his arm wrapped tightly around my waist and we stayed still, posing carefully for the cameras. People from the press were shouting random questions as us.

Where did I get my dress? How did we meet? What is Jackson’s opinion on our relationship? Ryder?  How long have we been together? When did I get to California?

I could only answer a few until Jackson was by my side and we all moved as a group into the building, waving flashy goodbyes to the screaming crowd.

“How’d you do?” Ryder asked as we walked through the room.

I smiled a relieved smile. “It wasn’t too bad. Kind of fun, actually.”

“And now you’ll be on the front of all the magazines.” Jackson smirked.

“No, I won’t.” I scoffed. “That’s ridiculous.”

“Is it?” Tommy asked with raised eyebrows.

“Yes.” I argued. “Bonkers, really. I mean, they took pictures, but that doesn’t mean that I’ll get front page. Or any page.”

“The two most famous guys in America have siblings that are dating. I can see the headlines now.” Andy said smugly.

“That’s not true, is it?” I asked, looking up at Kale who still had his arm around my waist. I gave him a pleading, desperate look.

He shrugged helplessly. “I’m not sure. Maybe.”

“Maybe?” I shrieked, trying to picture my face being sold on the front of magazines in drug stores and malls. Libby would be so jealous!

“Yes, maybe.” Kale laughed, kissing my cheek as we all headed deeper into the fancy theater.

“Fine.” I huffed. “But know that I’m not okay with it.”

They all laughed until something broke up the laughter. “Jackson!”

I cringed at the high pitched voice. It almost sounded like Kayla, but I could hear the Australian twang that told me it was Mandy Crow.

We all turned around to see the bouncy blonde coming straight for my brother, who plastered a fake smile onto his face. “Hi, Mandy.” He chirped with pained happiness.

“We’ll go get our seats.” Tommy said awkwardly, taking Andy’s hand as they both waved an awkward goodbye and headed for where it looked like the movie would be played. I sighed mentally at how cute they looked, like they belonged with each other, especially with the smiles on their faces. I couldn’t help but wonder if people would think that me and Kale looked that cute together. Like we were meant to be.

He looked over to me and noticed me staring at him as our eyes locked. I quickly adverted my gaze to where Jackson was trying to fend off Mandy and ignored Kale’s smirk.

“We can sit together.” Mandy cooed.

“I’m actually sitting with Holly. Sorry, Mandy.” Jackson said, trying to be as nice as he possibly could.

“I’m sure she won’t miss you, she has him.” She said, motioning a dainty fingertip towards Kale.

“Actually.” I piped, stepping up and standing beside Jackson. I noticed Ryder smirking from beside me. “I would definitely miss him because he’s my brother and not your play toy. So if you’ll excuse me, we have a premier to see. It was so lovely seeing you again, though.” I said, shooting her a deadly glare but keeping my words sickly sweet.

She gaped at me before glancing at Jackson, waiting for him to back her up. “Jackson, aren’t you going to say something to her? Did you hear what she just said to me?” She gasped incredulously.

“Yes, I did hear her and I think it’s about time we left.” He said politely, putting an arm around my shoulders and spinning us around, leading me, Kale, and Ryder down the carpeted hallway and towards the large double doors with ushers attending them.

When we were out of hearing shot, Ryder burst out laughing. Like doubled over, tear inducing laughter as we took our seats.  “That was great! Did you see her face?” He laughed as Jackson joined his chorus of laughter and they recited the scene that I made in the lobby.

I rolled my eyes with a smug smile. I sat between Jackson and Kale with Ryder on the other side of Kale and Tommy and Andy sat on the other side of Jackson in the row of dark seats with the screen in the front.

I noticed so many celebrities it was overwhelming. Adam Sandler, Tina Fey, and Will Ferrell being just three of the many. However, after meeting Ryder West, I think I can handle pretty much anything. The whole theater was full of rumbling discussions and excited formally dressed people, along with the access pass fans.

Kale locked our fingers together and stroked the back of my hand with the rough pad of his thumb.

“You look really nice tonight.” He whispered in my ear. I was wearing a dress that was rather short, the bottom was made of peach ruffles while the top was smothered in shimmering pink sequins. My lip gloss was bright and my heals were simple and light.

I giggled and blushed. “You’ve said that. But thanks.”

He smirked and brushed his nose against my cheek bone. “I know, but it’s cute when you blush.”

“Well, I’m glad that my embarrassment amuses you.” I murmured, feeling the tingles sparkling over my skin as he delicately brushed his lips against my cheek.

“I can’t help it.” He said innocently.

I pulled back just enough to put my lips on his for only a short second. “You’re lucky that you’re cute.”

“So you’re only with me for my looks?” He teased.

I nodded innocently. “Yup.”

He opened his mouth to speak when the lights dimmed down into nothing so that the room was pitch black until the screen lit up with the opener to the movie- A bunch of kids in costumes frolicking around with bags and singing their “trick-or-treat” going house to house. And then one of them died. He was a teenager and I noticed that the actor that played the first victim was in the front row of the theater. I saw him before the lights went down.

The movie wasn’t all that scary, but it was really interesting, and a little bit gruesome so I just looked away at those parts. The screams sounded so real, just like the bloody chainsaws and fighting scenes.

When the credits rolled and the lights faded in again so that we could see, the huge theater was full of applauses and hollering. The main cast that sat in the front row, including the first victim, stood up in front of everybody and bowed proudly. I could see why they were proud, they were amazing actors.

“So what now?” I asked Jackson as we all shuffled out of the theater and back into the lobby.

“There’s an after party.” He said, leading everybody through the incredibly crowded lobby full of well-known celebrities. I’m pretty sure I brushed shoulders with Adam Levine. “It’s at a hotel, though, since this theater doesn’t have a ball room.”

I gasped loudly. “A theater without a ballroom?! Heinous!” I said dramatically.

He laughed and rolled his eyes. “Isn’t it?”

“We don’t have to go to the after party.” Kale whispered huskily into my ear, so low that nobody else could hear him.

I would have giggled if my breath didn’t stop in my throat. I couldn’t make any sort of sound, really, at the sound of his implications. All I could do was nod, knowing that I’d rather spend alone time with Kale than go to some famous people party any day.

He smiled and kissed my cheek quickly before speaking up to the group around us.

“Me and Holly are going to skip the after party.” Kale said. “We’ll just go home early.”

Jackson wrinkled his nose in distaste but didn’t say anything.

“Okay.” Ryder mumbled as we all filed into the same limo and Kale instructed him to take us home first.

The ride to the house was practically silent to everyone else, but my heart was pounding in my chest and it was all I could hear. I didn’t know why Kale didn’t want to go to the party, but by the sound of his voice when he whispered that to me sent chills down my spine every time I tried to think about it.

After a few years, the limo pulled up in front of Jackson’s house and we said our goodbyes to everybody in the limo. As the door shut, I’m pretty sure I heard Andy say something about condoms, but ignored her before my face flamed again.

It might have been just me, but as the limo drove back down the road and we were walking up the pathway to the door, I’m pretty sure that Kale was walking quicker than a normal walking pace. My heals clicking against the cement pathway was the only sound in the intense silence that was driving me crazy.

“So why didn’t you want to go to the party?” I asked in a throaty, shaky voice.

“I don’t think I could wait that long to kiss you.” He told me honestly as I unlocked the front door and in seconds, we were inside.

“You kissed me at the theater.” I pointed out as my cheeks grew rosy.

He stepped closer to me so that our bodies were nearly touching. “I meant kiss you like I mean it.” He whispered just before slamming his lips into mine, pushing me to the wall behind me.

His tongue roughly examined every inch of mine and I eagerly returned the heated kiss. I wrapped my arms around his neck, pulling him even closer to me. I thought the kiss we shared yesterday was intense, it was nothing compared to this one. This was like the sun just exploding into one hungry kiss.

When his lips moved from mine and rested on my neck, I let out a soft moan involuntarily. He began sucking on the soft skin near my collar bone as I tried to catch my breath, but his lips kept me breathless no matter what.

After a short while, his lips were on mine again and his hands were roaming around my waist and then down to my thighs. Again, I let out a moan of desire at the feel of his hands on my bare thighs.

At some point, he pulled away with a toothy, breathless smile on his face. “Now, I couldn’t kiss you like that at the party, right?”

I shook my head quickly. “I-I’d hope not.” I croaked, still trying to catch my breath.

He chuckled and leaned in, softly kissing my cheek as if he didn’t just devour my face.

“C’mon, let’s go upstairs.” Kale said, taking my hand in his and leading me towards the stairs once we both caught our breaths.

“Why are we going upstairs?” I asked worriedly. I hope he wasn’t expecting anything more than kissing. I’m positive I wasn’t ready for anything like that.

He flashed an award winning smile in my direction. “So we can hang out in your room.” When I didn’t say anything, he chuckled. “And by hang out, I mean hang out. I’m not sex crazed, I promise.”

I nodded a very relieved nod. “Good.”

When we got into my room, we both plopped down on my bed before I realized how uncomfortable that dress was.

“I’m going to go change.” I announced, making my way into my closet.

“Good, that gives me a chance to snoop around your room.” Kale teased.

I stuck my tongue out at him and closed the door behind me. “Go ahead, have a look around. Nothing you haven’t seen before.”

Within five minutes, I was dressed in black basketball shorts and a pink tank top with my hair brushed through and laying down my back. When I opened the door to the closet, Kale was on the phone, so I stayed quiet.

“We’re at Jackson’s.” He said. He was turned away from me and didn’t see me come out of the closet, so I don’t think he knew I could hear him. I felt bad for eavesdropping, but my curiosity was killing me. “No.” He said firmly after the person on the other end said something. “Ryder, you’re a dick.” And then he hung up.

“What’d Ryder want?” I asked, causing Kale to jump and spin to face me.

“He called to tell me where his condoms were.” He mumbled, red starting to make an appearance on the tips of his ears.

I nodded slowly. “So everyone thinks we’re doing the dirty?”

He nodded sheepishly. “Pretty much.”

“Well, that sucks.” I muttered, sitting beside Kale on the bed. I grabbed Boyce, my bear, and sat him on my lap. “How did the snooping go?”

He chuckled. “It was boring, you don’t have any secrets.”

“Well I do. I just don’t air it all out in my bedroom.” I admitted. “But don’t worry, nothing serious. I’m not like a serial killer or something.”

He smiled and leaned in close to me, putting his lips on mine just for a small second. “Good.”

“So what do you want to do?” I asked, petting the ratted mess of Boyce’s head.

He grinned wider and pointed to the corner of my room where my guitar was poised against the wall. “Why don’t you play?”

“You’re nuts, you know that?” I chuckled. “No way.”

“Why not? I’ve heard you sing.” He insisted.

“Well, yeah. But-“ I stopped myself when I couldn’t think of a legit reason to back out of his offer.

“Please?” He asked, giving me the sexiest pouty face I’ve ever seen in my life.

“Fine.” I huffed, standing up to go get the guitar from the other side of the room. “But if you ever give me that pouty face again… I will attack you.”

“What are you going to sing?” He asked.

“It’s a surprise.” I said, even though I was still trying to think of one. My heart was thudding loudly in my chest with stage fright, but I tried not to let it show. It’s just Kale, Holly. It’s just Kale. I tried to tell myself, but the fright inside of me wouldn’t go away. When I returned back to the bed beside Kale, my hands were trembling, but I tried not to make it obvious that I was freaking out. Calm down! It’s JUST Kale!

“Hey.” Kale spoke softly, putting his hand on my shoulder. “Don’t be nervous, okay? You’ll do great. Besides, it’s only me.” He said, voicing my own thoughts.

I took a deep breath and forced a small smile. “Yeah.” I croaked, putting the guitar in my hands and preparing to play. When I strummed the first note, every nerve that was shaking was gone. It felt totally natural and like I was completely alone- nobody could hear me. And when I opened my mouth to sing, I wasn’t shaking or on the verge of nervous tears. It was fun.

"There I was again tonight. Forcing laughter, faking smiles. Same old tired lonely place. Walls of incincerity, shifting eyes and vacancy.Vanished when I saw your face. All I can say is it was enchanting to meet you."

When I strummed the last chord, I nervously looked over at Kale who was grinning at me, but before he could say anything, a chorus of clapping erupted in the room. I looked behind me to see Ryder, Jackson, Andy, Tommy, and two girls that I didn’t recognize. The four people that I recognized were clapping and smiling at me.

“It’s been forever since I’ve heard you play your guitar.” Jackson said with a proud smile.

I smiled at him. “Well, it’s been a while since I’ve played in front of people but you guys weren’t supposed to hear it. Any of it, really.”

“Well, it was great.” Andy cooed.

“Good job, Holly. Now if you’ll excuse us…” Ryder trailed off with his arm over one of the girl’s shoulders as he led her away from my room and through the halls.

Jackson wished us a quick goodnight before following after them with the other girl.

“Who were they?” I asked when it was only me, Andy, Kale, and Tommy.

Andy and Tommy smirked as if they knew something that I didn’t.

“What?” I asked in confusion.

“Their latest whores, that’s who they were.” Tommy said.

My mouth dropped open, dragging along the floor in shock.

“You didn’t know that your brother was a man whore?” Andy chuckled.

I just shook my head slowly. I knew that Ryder had his way with a bunch of girls, it was smeared over most tabloids all the time. But my brother? Gross!

“Well, surprise.” Kale sang.

“They… he… nasty!” I whined.

Andy laughed. “You can stay at our house, if you want.”

I nodded my head vigorously. “Well, there’s no way that I’m staying in this one.”

Everybody laughed at me as Kale led me out the door and all four of us sauntered our way through the house. Kale had his arm over my shoulders while Tommy and Andy were holding hands. But no matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t get that image out of my brain. The image of Jackson…

“You okay?” Kale asked once we got inside of his house.

“Except for being emotionally scarred for life?” I whined.

He smiled and led me towards the stairs. “We’ll be in my room.” He announced to Andy and Tommy who were walking into the kitchen.

“Goodnight.” Tommy called as we went up the stairs.

I didn’t have time to respond because Kale was basically dragging me up the stairs with him in a hurry.

“What’s the hurry?” I squeaked with a giggle.

“I’m not hurrying.” He insisted.

“Are you sure you’re not sex crazed?” I teased when we got into his room, I noticed that it looked neater than the last time I’d seen it.

“Are you sure you’re not sex crazed?” He countered with raised eyebrows.

I shrugged innocently. “Maybe.”

He smirked as I sat down on his warm, comfy bed. “I’m going to change out of this suit.”

“Hurry.” I called as he sauntered towards his closet.

He smiled at me. “I’ll hurry.”

“I’m going to snoop around.” I said through the closed closet door.

“Go ahead.” He called back.

I got up off of the bed and walked to his dresser. There wasn’t anything on top of it except for a few papers and a laptop. I didn’t snoop through the papers, but one piece did stand out to me. When I picked up the thin strip of paper, I gasped when I saw that it was the receipt from the time when he took me to the pizza place and got our drawing done.

I smiled with a small giggle when I put the paper down. I love that he kept that, that he remembers. That he wants to remember that night. Sure, the ending wasn’t ideal, but the beginning was amazing.

“What if I find your porn?” I teased Kale through the door.

I heard him chuckle. “Don’t worry, you’ll never find it.”

I couldn’t tell if he was kidding or not. “I’m sure I’ll find it somehow.”

“Okay.” He sang.

With a sly smile on my face, I opened the second drawer on his dresser and found that it was a bunch of folded up tee shirts- no porn.

Before closing the drawer, I noticed one of the shirts. It was black with a Tapout logo on the front- the shirt that he wore a week ago when he picked me up from the airport. I still couldn’t believe that it was only a week ago, it feels like it’s been forever. I’ve only known Kale for a week, yet I have intense, scary feelings for him. I wouldn’t say love.. I don’t think. That word is even scarier. But when I even think about him, it brings a smile to my face. When I see him, the familiar butterfly feeling erupts in my tummy. Not to mention that I never want to get my hands off of him. Even as I tell myself that I’m not ready to give my V card to him yet, I don’t think I’ll last three weeks.

Without a second thought, I pulled the shirt out and exchanged it for my tank top. It was warm and soft, and it smelled like Kale. That smell that only Kale can have. I loved that smell. This room was full of it, it smelled exactly like him. The shirt came to about mid- thigh but you could still see the basketball shirts that stopped right below my knees.

Not a moment after I tossed my tank top towards the door, Kale swung open the closet door and popped his head out. He was wearing basketball shorts and a wife-beater. Wow, his arms looked amazing in that.

“I’m done.” He called, walking towards me. “And you stole my shirt.”

I nodded confidently. “Another one of the relationship rules. Don’t worry, you’ll catch on eventually.”

He smiled and put his hands on my waist, pulling me towards him and planting his lips on mine. “I don’t mind.” He murmured. “In fact, I love that rule. You look hot in my shirt.” He murmured against my lips.

That brought a blush onto my cheeks. If anybody in the world said that to me before this week, I wouldn’t have believed them, I’d brush the compliment off and diagnose it as creepy. But now, when Kale says anything like that, I have no choice but to believe it. I can’t explain how amazing it feels when he says things like that to me.

“So what do you want to do?” He asked, keeping his lips less than an inch from mine.

“Honestly?” I asked, biting my lip nervously. “I just wanna make out.” I admitted.

This made Kale smirk. “Well, if you insist.”

I smiled and pushed him back so that he fell onto the bed with his head on the pillows. “I do insist.” I whispered, crawling on top of him so that I was straddling him. That’s another thing Kale does, he gives me confidence I never knew I could feel. I love that feeling of loving myself. And the way he was looking at me right now, like I was the most beautiful thing on earth, I loved that too.

Without another word, I leaned down and put my lips on his. This kiss was slow, soft, yet still full of passion. His tongue took its sweet time exploring every single inch of my mouth as I let him, suppressing multiple moans. I don’t know how long it was until I noticed that his hands were up the black shirt and rested on my waist. His fingers were meticulously playing with the elastic band on the shorts, silently begging for permission. With barely any self-control left, I moved my hips against his hands, letting him know that it was okay.

He got the message and slowly, painfully slowly, he slid his hands down my hips and then my bare thighs, taking the shorts down with him. I can’t lie, at first I felt incredibly self-conscious about what he could see. Well, technically, he couldn’t see anything because his lips were still meshed with mine, but I was so exposed.

I heard the soft thump when the shorts hit the ground and my confidence shrunk even more.

I’m assuming Kale could notice, because he pulled away from my lips. “Have I ever told you how incredibly gorgeous you are?” He murmured against my lips.

“Maybe.” I said with a small smile and blush on my face.

He grinned and put his lips back on mine, most of the previous self-consciousness gone. Replaced by a blush and warm feeling inside that I craved. I loved it, absolutely loved it.

After a while, he slowly flipped us over so that he was holding himself up on top of me, but without disconnecting our lips. His rough hand slowly rubbed up and down on my bare thigh, but never went high enough to touch the fabric of my underwear.  His other arm was propped up, holding his weight above me.

I softly played with the hem of his wife beater before raising it up, above his head with no resistance from Kale. I threw it and it landed with a thud like my shorts had done. My hands explored every single exposed skin cell of his tan, smooth, soft, prefect chest. I felt satisfied when I heard him groan in the back of his throat.

At some point, our lips disconnected, leaving us both breathless. “Goodnight.” Kale whispered, kissing my forehead gently.

Even though I was a bit disappointed to not be kissing him, I was exhausted. “Goodnight.” I whispered back, laying my head on his bare chest and curling into his warmth with the blankets over top of us.

It didn’t take me long to all asleep in his arms.
