After the defeat of Perfect Cell and after reviving those that had been slain during his lifespan, the Z-Fighters began to enjoy the peaceful downtime that had been taking place. For some of them this was an opportunity to join the rest of the Earthlings and go to work or in Gohan's case, go to school and receive an education. For the rest they began their strict yet simple training regiment in order to slowly raise their strength while maintaining some combat skill set while for Goku, Vegeta and Thorn as well as for Reina, they began to train like never before. Thorn suggested after the fight with Cell that each of them began to master their Super Saiyans forms and be able to stay in that form without it drawing on their energy, This confused Goku slightly as he had trained to do such however compared to Thorn, he had been burning more energy than needed. Vegeta thought about this concept and he unexpectedly agreed while also saying to Thorn "I accept your training idea but only if you train with me! I saw how you fought Cell and while you can fight I can see that you need some help." Thorn agreed albeit after some thought as he believed his combat skills were pretty sharp considering that he beat Cel with it. Reina went to complain that she couldn't train with Thorn but Goku spoke up while saying "I can train you Reina...not to be rude but I've never seen you fight so maybe I can help you refine your fighting style?" Thorn looked at Goku and then he looked at Reina, his mind thought about how Goku would actually be a perfect teacher for her. Reina did like Goku and she did respect him but there were times where Goku did anger her albeit on accident specifically where she had first met him only to hear from Goku "I can't sense much energy from you...are you sure this is your suppressed energy?"

During their time of training Vegeta and Thorn fought to their limits in their base forms which seemed normal to them but for those that weren't Saiyans, they thought that Thorn and Vegeta were insane fighting like they were. For starters Vegeta had started off with the edge as he attacked Thorn from behind however being much faster than Vegeta Thorn was able to turn things around for a bit, it was then that Vegeta and Thorn began to clash and occasionally land a strike or two by that was it. They took a moment to separate and then charge each other once more with Vegeta forcing every ounce of his power into his base form which compared to Thorn wasn't enough but he finally was getting closer when one of Vegeta's punches was close enough to scratch Thorn's face, this made the Saiyan grunt in pain however he pushed that pain aside long enough to make Vegeta get away from him long enough to wipe the dripping blood from his cut. Thorn then powered up to his Kaioken form which prompted Vegeta to go into his Super Saiyan form, the fighters clashed once again only this time Thorn didn't have the edge! What he failed to realize was that while Kaioken was stronger and faster than his normal speed and power, Vegeta had enough training in his Super Saiyan form that he could overpower Kaioken without any trouble whatsoever. Thorn then made the jump to his Super Saiyan form which made Vegeta see this:
While Thorn had to look at Vegeta in his form which from Thorn's perspective looked like this:
The two clashed again and again with each clash lasting longer and longer and their power getting weaker and weaker the longer they fought however there was one constant in their clashes, Vegeta would clash with Thorn and yet somehow he couldn't ever win sure he could land a glancing blow or a solid kick but never could he seal the deal but finally Thorn slipped up and Vegeta was able to win the fight. Thorn landed hard on the ground in the chamber only this time it was enough for him to drop his Super Saiyan form while saying to Vegeta "Damn...that's some punch you have Vegeta, I'd say we've earned a break for a bit."
(1 hour later)
After their small break Vegeta and Thorn continued their training from earlier only this time during their clashes Vegeta could be seen smiling as was Thorn which for them meant that they had more respect for each other than anyone else and for Thorn that was all he needed from Vegeta, he needed to be able to trust in Vegeta in case the fights got harder and harder down the road. It was then that Vegeta separated from Thorn long enough to go into his SS2 form which from Thorn's eyes looked like this:
Thorn powered up to his SS2 form and almost immediately Vegeta could sense that Thorn was stronger than when he fought Cell. Somehow Thorn had increased his strength in the timeframe of Cell's defeat without Vegeta noticing it until now. Vegeta then stared at Thorn only to see Thorn charge at him and begin another long and strenuous clash that lasted nearly an hour long thanks to their energy being forced from their reserves as well as the push they gave each other during their training. Vegeta thought to himself during this training (This kid has improved over the years and yet I'm enjoying myself...I shouldn't like fighting him but yet Thorn forces me to get stronger and fight harder than usual.) Thorn then landed a punch to the Prince's face which knocked him down however instead of getting up to continue, Vegeta powered down and said while getting up to a knee "You've managed to overpower me at my best....how do you do it Thorn?" The Saiyan had no words for Vegeta however he simply said while extending a hand to help Vegeta to his feet "The way I train is much more intense than you may think." As Thorn began to walk to get some food the Saiyan then began to feel weak and he dropped to a knee, even though Vegeta was prideful Saiyan he helped Thorn to his feet while saying "Come on...I can't let you quit now." Thorn smiled weakly as Vegeta assisted the battered and exhausted Saiyan to a bed where almost immediately Thorn had fallen asleep making Vegeta smirk slightly as he knew that while Thorn was a warrior he was still gentle enough to be able to relax at any time. Vegeta then sat down on the floor and began to meditate as Thorn mentioned would help Vegeta clear his mind so that his focus wouldn't waiver during training or combat.
(Round 3)
Vegeta and Thorn clashed for the third time in their one week of training within the chamber. During this time Vegeta had mastered both Super Saiyan and SS2 as well as he almost mastered what he called Super Vegeta. For Thorn he had mastered his Super Saiyan and SS2 forms and then he was able to use the Super Kaioken which was taxing on his body however he would only use it if he had to, he then discovered a new form called Super Saiyan 3 which looked like this:
This form was taxing on his body as well however over time Thorn had controlled the passive energy that would drain from him during combat which in turn gave him a higher level of power. Even at his peak Thorn's power level around this time was about 25,000,000,000 which even with Vegeta at his max at this time was only around 21,000,000,000. As the fight went on it was clear that Thorn was much faster and much stronger than the last time that they both had fought each other and yet somehow...both fighters grew to respect each other more and more. Thorn then landed a Ki laced punch that knocked Vegeta down and out long enough for Thorn to say while in his SS3 form "Looks like you lose Vegeta....I'm impressed with how much you and I have grown during this time. Thanks for the training and thanks for helping me find this power." Vegeta sat up and said while standing up slowly "The same goes to you Thorn....you've grown into a warrior that I think I could see carrying the pride of the Saiyans into the future." Thorn then took a leap away from Vegeta and he began to power up his SS3 form and then his aura faded away quickly, his eyes closed and after a small moment of time Thorn finally said after opening his eyes "Super Kaioken!!!" It was then that Vegeta saw Thorn's Super Kaioken form that for about 30 seconds showed Vegeta how strong Thorn had become over the years and the countless hours of training his mind and body as well as his energy. Thorn's aura faded again only this he dropped to a knee and trying to catch his breath, what Thorn knew was that his form was taxing however it was also a form that could be used to boost his attacks to their max and potentially ending a war with a villain. Thorn stood up slowly as Vegeta could only watch the tired and battered Saiyan walk forwards leaving the prince to think to himself (This Saiyan has found more and more power and yet somehow....he's done this with the same amount of training as myself! I must figure out how he really trains and I must copy it!) Vegeta then laid on one of the beds while Thorn laid on the other, Vegeta looked at Thorn one last time and that was when Vegeta could sense that Thorn had been fighting for so long that he could just sense the energy change during combat or even training to when Thorn is resting. It amazed the prince to know that he could have anyone to call a friend much less someone he could respect other than his father.
