The she-cat cursed as a thorn dug into her pad, but she kept running. Rain continued to pelt down, soaking the white she-cat to the bone.
As she leaped over a fallen tree branch, a hiss sounded from behind.
"You think you can get away from me, Dragonflypath?" a tom hissed, malice dripping from this call.
Dragonflypath yelped as sharp claws dug themselves into her skin, slamming her face down into the mud. Wriggling round to at face her attacker, her breath escaped from her mouth.
"Oakstar?"
A shriek erupted into the air. The forest rang silent.
