(Before we start the chapter can I just talk about this movie! It's freaking heart breaking)
You both arrived at the festival and got your tickets, while paying you noticed someone very familiar. You walked a bit closer to see if it was true.
"You have got to be kidding me.." you mumbled
What you saw was the one person you didn't want to see and that person was non other than Yuri..
You couldn't take your eyes off her, she was wearing jeans and a hoodie trying to blend in with the crowd. You watched as she bumped into a kid but never apologized
'She never changed did she, same bitch as always..' you thought while watching her disappear into the crowd of people
"Oi I have been calling you! I got the tickets..is something wrong?" You felt Kageyama take your hand and turn your body to face him
"I'm fine.." you said with a smile
At first he tried to study your face to see if anything was wrong, but after a few seconds he just thought you were fine, he gave you a kiss on the forehead just to assure you that if you needed someone he is right here
To be honest you couldn't stop thinking about Yuri, the last time you ever saw her you didn't even talk, it was mostly you avoiding her with Eriko. You hated her, she was like your sister till your last game together were she decided to change that
Flashback
It has been about a week since your mom died, basically the whole school knew since word goes fast around here.
The last game of middle school was on its way and the whole team was preparing for it, as a team and as an individual. The last game was important, high school teams would watch the game and decide if you should be in the team if you choose to go to the school.
You being the ace of the team, more people would be watching you, seeing if you did a mistake. The Captain and best friend Eriko has been trying to tell you not to join the match.
Eriko was worried..she was there when you were at your lowest, and that was just 2 days ago. As your friend and captain she has been trying to let you skip this match but you refused
"I cannot just abandon the team! This is the last freaking game of the year and they need me..just because my freaking mom died doesn't mean I can't play!" You shouted
You knew for a fact that you were emotionally drained and not to mention also physically, but you knew that the team and the younger years are counting on you so as a senpai and for your ego you needed to stay in the game
"Just let her do it Eriko..I know she can do it" you looked to your right and saw you best friend Well that is what you thought
"Really Yuri even you! You know how (y/n)-Chan is feeling..she cannot do it!" Eriko exclaimed catching the attention of the other younger players
"Just let her do it" Yuri exclaimed
At first when you saw her face you thought something was wrong with it but you let it slide since you knew Yuri since you were in kindergarten
"Sigh..Okay fine" Eriko sighed
You smiled and hugged her "thanksss eri-chan" you said
Time Skip to the Final Game
You and the girls team were stretching in the back, your school has been one of the top middle school girls volleyball team in the prefecture meaning that a lot of people will be watching.
You knew that you favorite school Shiratorizawa would be there to watch the game, while stretching you had this feeling that something wasn't right but you brushed it off when you hear and energetic but annoying ball of sunshine calling you
"(Y/n)-chaannnnnnn" you look to we're the voice was coming from to only see you best friend Shoyo coming over to you
"Hey sho! " you exclaimed and run up to him
"So you actually came to see my match!" You said excitedly
"Of course! I wouldn't miss it for the world!" You smiled at him and told him to watch in the front so that you could see him
Little did you know that in the background Yuri was watching you with Shoyo, she never told you but she had this crush on Shoyo ever since she met him. She gripped on her water bottle nearly breaking it in the process
"Just watch and see when she makes a fool of her self" she mumbled
"Ready Yuri!" You shouted, like a switch she smiled at you and nodded
Time Skip to the last set of the game
You were at the last set, only a few more points and you will be winning the game. So far you have been doing your quicks with ease, Eriko was the setter of the team, she passes the ball to you and you hit the ball with immense force crashing through the 2 player block
Now at set point, you immediately get fired up to get the last shot, you smiled at your teammates reassuring them, you look at each one of them till you landed on Yuri, she looked..it's hard to describe it but something was off
You take a deep breath and get ready, one of the second years jump serves the ball and the opponents send it back
'It's time to show who's the boss' you thought and started to run, little did you know someone else was also running
You run and jump, you felt the ball but a spilt second later you felt something pushing your shoulder, with a big force you got knocked out of the way and came falling to the ground, the force of hit was so extreme you were sent flying off the court
You immediately feel the pain of the hard gym floor on your arm, the pain was so bad that you couldn't feel your arm anymore, you open your eye just a little to see the team and Eriko running after you. But in the background you saw a smiling Yuri and like that you lost consciousness
6 hours later
You open your eye a bit, instead of the gymnasium you see a white ceiling, you looked around to see that you are in the hospital. You look to your right to see Eriko cutting apples for you while you look to your right to see you dad Levi, talking to the doctor outside the room
"Agh..what happened?" You said but in a groggy voice
(Anyone who watches Violet Evergarden hit me up I am in love with this show ^^)
"(Y/n)-chan" she exclaimed and run to you and hugged you, immediately you feel a stinging pain on your left arm
"Ow, Eriko let go..." you said and she immediately let go of you
"Ah sorry I just got carried away.." she said smiling but sadly
"What happened..how did I get here" you said while getting into a more comfortable sitting position
"Yuri that's what happened.." she said with a hint of anger and sadness
"What happened was Yuri's fault? " you asked not believing it
" yes (y/n) she intentionally run to you when you spiked and pushed you off to get the last spike" she said standing up while clutching her fists
"She wouldn't so that...." you thought but all of it makes sense, they way she was acting to you seeing her smile at you when you hit the ground it all made sense
Flashback Ended
You walked with Kageyama hand in hand looking around at the games and food stalls, you smiled at him and squeezed his hand looking at the stuff alpaca in the game stalls
"Really (y/n) you want that? " he asked but you just playfully punch him and bring him to the stall
The game was pretty simple just try to throw the ring on the bottles neck, since you and Kageyama and skilled volleyball players it was pretty easy
"How much for the alpaca?" Kageyama said seriously making you laugh a bit
"If you get all ten rings in the bottles" the sketchy stall clerk said with a smirk
Kageyama smirked and started to toss the rings since he has been practicing his toss he got all of the rings in the bottles neck, surprising the clerk and angering him at the same time
"Now where's the alpaca." Kageyama said in a monotone voice
"Tch. Just take it and never come back!" The clerk said shoving the cute alpaca in your hands
You smiled at kageyama who was now taking you somewhere where you can eat
"Thanks tobio.." you smiled at him, while he turned away trying to cover up his blush
"Ohh looky here, little miss ace over here has a little boyfriend" you stop in your tracks and knew who exactly who it was
"What do you want Yuri" you said coldly and shot a glare at her
"Ohh I just wanted to see how my dear old friend was doing..how was your little arm of yours.." she smirked evilly
