Ding ding.....
You turned over in bed; trying to block out the noise from your phone, however; that wasn't happening.
Ding ding....din—
Before you knew it, your phone had stopped abruptly; which rendered you to open one eye to investigate why. Everything in your hotel room was levitating, your quirk giving the items it's red aura and somehow your phone had flown across the room. "No no..." after a few minutes you were semi successful in straightening your temporary residence while on interns. "I thought I had this under control" checking your phone screen, you noticed your father had called, if that wasn't odd enough. You dialed him back but didn't expect to get through.
"Morning kiddo. You're up early"
"Uhm...yeah just—I was checking the schedule today. What do you want?"
"I heard you were close to the coast. I didn't know you chose Ryuko for your mentor..." lately, you hadn't filled Lucius in on how you were even though that was the sole purpose of your attending the school. "What sparked that decision?"
"Well I...my quirk is chaos energy, I just assumed that since it was similar to hers in some way, she could give tips and pointers on controlling it better"
"You analyze like your mother"
"Someone has to. Why'd you call? Am I in trouble? Listen, if this is about Caesar's nose, I already apologized to him—he can get off my back now"
"Caesar's—no, what are you talking about? And what happened to his nose?" You stood silent; embarrassed you'd let that secret slip.
"Uh—I'm not sure I get your drift. I've gotta leave in a few"
"Go, we'll continue this conversation later" you hung up and got ready for the day. You were quite pleased with how your newer hero costume fit you. A little alterations here and there but it looked great and you couldn't wait to let it see some action. It had been a while since you ran into Dabi for the second time; not that you were complaining. You still frequently thought about what he said... and if he meant it. He never specified who he worked for or who was over the orders. You were hoping to never see him again and continue life normally. Oh how wrong you were.

"You think she'll be easy to catch?" He stood against an empty alley wall, arms folded and eyes closed. Something was on his mind currently; as he ignored the question a partner popped.
"How long...?"
"4 more hours. I personally don't think that's enough time"
"It's more than enough. You'd be surprised at how predictable she is. The old man wants her unharmed and alive, a little force is necessary I'd say"
"WELL THAT'S NO FAIR! I WANNA SEE THE PRETTY GIRL TOO, YOU LEFT WITHOUT ME!" Some blonde haired girl with two spiky buns on either side of her head; scowling at the men with her yellow gold orbs.
"Pipe down, Toga. You were taking too long anyhow"
"That's rude, Dabi. How do you know her?"
"Longtime friend of mine. That was the past, I'm not dwelling on it any longer than need be. Since you freaks are all here, I'll give the rundown. Her name is Y/N. She's the kid the military experimented on after the League was successful in killing Ali. Her quirk was always there, just heightened after being a lab rat of sorts. It's simple, but deadly. Chaos energy manipulation...useful in combat and close range situations. Meaning, don't let your guard down around her, there's no telling how much she's learned from her mentor" a villain amongst the two spoke up in regards to their orders. A dark hoodie covered his head but visible tattoos on every inch of his body.
"What does our master want with a little girl?" He asked, flipping through some photos taken of you in secret. "Big girl quirk for such a child"
"You'll find out when the rest of us do, Diablo. Toga, you have something to input?"
"We don't expect to just waltz in and take her. Surely we'd have something to combat against her powers..."
"I have these..." they all turned to acknowledge their 4th addition to the group. A girl around your age held 2 small metal disks between her fingers. Her hair was tossed sloppily to her left with the exception that it was cut low on her right and a few markings and tattoos on her hands and neck as well. "Electromagnetic disruptors. Once on contact, it shuts down all nerve endings and muscle movements," she tossed one to Diablo and one to Dabi. "Body paralysis, if you will, gentlemen"
"How come Nightmare doesn't get yelled at for being late?"
"She brought us goodies, Toga"
"Alright," Dabi stashed away his secret weapon for later and turned towards the group. "Everyone knows what the goal is, right?" Nightmare, Toga and Diablo all nodded in unison; finally talking amongst each other and looking over your records. It was clear that you were the source of whatever was trying to be accomplished, so this plan couldn't fail. "She's not to be harmed, his orders"

Ryuko had taught you a great deal in terms of how to properly manage your power, ensuring it wasn't overly destructive. And you'd owned up to the promise you made yourself. You were on a simple patrol in a downtown market, the time was noonday. It was relatively bustling with shoppers and food vendors. All the different smells filled the air, and all you could do was think back to your first time in a marketplace. Where you actually made a friend or two—learned about others, even shared some things of your own. You missed everyone...but hopefully this internship wouldn't last long and you'd finally be back in your quiet little dorm. Though something odd happened rather quickly. You didn't pay it any attention at first but after some thought, it hit you. You noticed a man in a hoodie speaking to one of the vendors. Not weird at all...but then he slipped him something and the vendor began packing up his things to leave, all whilst on his phone. So you shrugged it off. Then you heard it.
BOOM!
From above you, probably the loudest explosion you'd ever witnessed. It made Bakugou look inferior. With that, the very tall—now on fire corporate building came crashing down; rocks and flaming debris falling from the sky as citizens moved with haste to avoid the catastrophe, some more fortunate than others.
"No..."
"Y/N! Are you alright down there?!" You held your earpiece close, focusing in on your mentors voice through the massacre. It had all happened so fast; the pain, and fear of everyone had reached your conscience now and you weren't sure if you could keep sane. "Y/N, answer me!"
"I'm here, im fine"
"What happened?!"
"I-I don't know it just—it happened so fast I don't know what to do..."
"Don't move from your position, I'm sending other heroes to help as well as myself—"
"No no no, you don't understand! People are dying, I have to do something"
"Listen to me, under my orders, you do not engage until more experience arrives"
"What?!"
"Don't do anything rash, your quirk still needs work"
"Ryuko! I can't just sit here twiddling my thumbs until someone gets here, these people need help!"
"I'm telling you this for your own good..." you shook your head. You pulled the earpiece out and crushed it beneath your heel before using your quirk to give you a boost towards the burning and collapsed building. A few lucky souls were still alive and trapped under pounds of metal and rock—ash floating through the air. Some you managed to save, others you could not. But you were determined to save as many as you could; to the point of exhaustion. You groaned in frustration as you tried vigorously locating the muffled screams of what sounded like a young boy. Metal foundations were flung across the floor with your powers; much too heavy for a normal person to lift. Bruised, dirty, and frightened; you held the boy in your arms tightly as you searched for an exit. The smell of smoke was clearly in your lungs by now; ushering a few coughs from you. Painful but not enough to deter you from your mission.
"Y/N!" That voice...
"Shouto...oh my god what are you doing here?"
"I was in the area with my mentor...all the other pros are as well"
"I'm...that's good, can you take him?" He took the boy from you to relieve some stress from you, and the moment he did, you fell to your knees, exhausted and confused.
"You over exerted yourself. Why'd you rush in like that?"
"If I'd have waited any longer, I wouldn't have gotten as many out as I did. I know it wasn't a rational decision, but I'm hell bent on making the right ones from now on..."
"If he's the last one, we need to go before this building collapses completely" You managed to get to one knee before the two of you froze at a malicious laughter from behind.
"Such purpose...such disposition from mere children. Is this what the heroes have to show for their quirks? Send in the students to do the work for them?" The man you recognized from earlier...his hood down and more of his tattoos were for the eye to see. "It's pathetic"
"Who are you?" Todoroki questioned, unaware of these mere strangers.
"All you need to know is that we're here for the witch, nothing else" you scoffed; looking around you.
"We?"
"Yes...it seems to me you're cornered" Nightmare appeared from another angle. "Our master wishes to see you"
"Enough with this!" You raised your hand to use your quirk against Diablo but Nightmare stopped you with her statement.
"I would not. Your plans to throw Diablo against that foundation could result in the building collapsing much sooner" you lowered your hand and glanced at her. How'd she know?
"Alright, psychic. Your master wants to see me, huh? Who is he, more importantly, where is he?"
"Why don't you come with us and find out, beautiful?" Diablo held out his hand to you; which you declined.
"Out of our way" Todoroki was still beside you—holding onto the boy and letting you talk; likely figuring out a plan.
"Y/N, still being difficult I see" you recognized that voice from before. Dabi had his hands in his pockets, Toga standing beside him as well. 4 against 2, these odds were terrible.
"Wow! She's so pretty, Dabi! This should be fun"
"You just don't quit..." puzzled, Todoroki pried.
"You know him?"
"Yes she does, hybrid. I'm here for her, not you"
"You think I'm going to just walk out of here with you? You're delusional"
"Maybe...but you're outnumbered. So, force or persuasion Princess?" Glancing between the four, you willingly stepped in front of Todoroki; wanting him to leave safely with the boy. Neither of you were in the position to fight with a child present. "Force it is. Diablo, get her" Diablo cracked his knuckles and started for you; a twisted smirk on his face.
"You need to leave"
"You can't be serious"
"You have no idea...the boys life is more important, go, I'll catch up with you" his hesitation was clear; but your stubbornness was clearer. "Go, Shouto" trusting you completely, he headed off without you in tow. Truth was, you weren't sure if you could accomplish this on your own. Diablo swung once, and you dodged his attack until you felt a sort of numbness and shock throughout your entire body; everything went dark.

Next chapter is going to be a filler because it gets a lot serious from here, I just wanna lighten the mood a little before we delve deep into the sadness and depression 😂!
