Finding Fathers

By I_Give_Life

Cookie paced back and forth while Jamal called Candace and Carol. It was one thing to find out you had another child or your father came back from hiding, but for a man who died in a hospital to come back to life was a bit too much for Cookie. She couldn't process it. Nothing about this situation was making sense. How could he be alive? Her mind instantly went to Renee, but she couldn't understand how she did it. You can't possibly hide a grown man. "Is she gonna be okay?" Reign asked Lucious. "She will be once this starts to make sense to her. How do we know that that this is actually the same man? Do you have a picture of him or something?" Lu questioned.

Reign pulled up her phone, searching for a photo. "Here you go. Is that him?" She asked, watching the facial expressions that displayed on Lu's face. "That's the old bastard," he murmured to himself. Cookie walked up behind him, slapping him with so much force. "Let me see and stop talking about my daddy," she snapped at him. He handed her the phone, watching her instantly start crying. "Where's the last place you seen him?" She asked, not taking her eyes off of the screen. "It was at some old brownstone in Philly. He'd been living in that old house before I was born. Supposedly you lived there," Reign answered. "Can't be the old house. We went there when we found Renee. No one else was in the house," Lucious mentioned.

"Yeah I know. I checked damn near everyday since he's been missing. Wait how did you know who he was Colonel Blimp?" Reign asked. "Well Rainbow, I know where he is. But your lack of respect for elders is making it a little difficult for me to want to share that info," Joe spat. "I think it's because you're growing a little more senile by the second," Reign hissed, starting to not like Joe whatsoever. "Both of you shut up! Where is my daddy Joe? I don't have time for this back and forth," Cookie shouted. Joe raised an eyebrow as he took his time pulling up the location. "Lucious. I'm gonna kill your daddy for real if he don't stop playing with me," Cookie growled.

"I'm gonna do it anyways," Reign voiced, piggy backing on the threat. Lucious pinched the bridge of his nose getting fed up. "Do we have to do this every day!?" He roared, snatching the envelope from Joe. "Boy-" "Back up old head!" Reign snapped, pointing her 9 mil directly at his face. Joe stood his ground, a sinister grin coming across his face. Lucious and Cookie both stared at the location, confused by where he was. "New Haven?" Cookie said as she looked at the address. "Connecticut?" Reign asked, putting the gun down. "Vermont," Lucious answered. "The fuck is in Vermont?" Cookie and Reign asked simultaneously. "I need y'all to stop talking for a second," Lucious said, trying to get used to them sounding identical.

"He's been held there but he's at a hospital in Middlesbury. Some kid was walking around and being destructive when he heard was sounded like someone trying to break a wall. Walked into an abandoned house and found him chained and exhausted," Joe explained. "Vermont... what is there? That's very random to hide somebody and how has he been there when I used to see him at the house in Philly?" Reign asked out loud. Her pacing started worrying Lucious, knowing that Dre paced frequently before his inner demons took over. "Is there a picture of the house? I remember we used to go up north when I was younger. We'd go like once a year but I can't remember where exactly," Cookie asked Joe as she went through the envelope again.

"What's in there is it. Either you're going to go see if it's really him or I can send a medic to have him transported here," Joe told her. Cookie went through the file again, not sure what to do. "Baby sit down," Lucious told her, seeing her heavy breathing pick up. "No Lucious! I... I need to-" "SIT DOWN!" He roared at her. She plopped down on the couch with a pout on her face. Lucious snatched the file from her so she could attempt to chill out. "I can go and see if it's him then have him transported here. Gives you guys time to go through the motions," Reign offered. "Aunt Candace and aunt Carol are on the way," Jamal announced. "I think that's a good idea. Gives them time to gather their thoughts," Lu said, agreeing with Reign.

"Okay. Come on pop pop. We gotta go get my granddaddy!" Reign sang out as she spun to face Joe. Joe groaned as he pulled out his phone to set up a transport. Once they left, Jamal sat next to Cookie, trying to console her. "Boy get off me! I'm fine. I'm just trying to understand all of this," she said, washing her hands over her face. "Should we call Keem?" Mal asked, not sure who all needed to be around. "No. We don't need the kids here right now. Wait where is Dre?" Lu questioned, not hearing Kenny or Giselle, meaning the house was really empty aside from them. "I think he was still at Empire when I left," Mal said. "For what?" Cookie asked, looking up at Jamal shrugging his shoulders.

Back at Empire

"Des look. Whatever tests need to be done just do it. I can't go months wondering whether or not this kid is mine. It's the last thing any of us needs," Dre voiced. "So just forget your brother. This is all about covering your ass?" She threw back. "I didn't know you were fucking my damn brother! Look if you do a paternity test and it shows that I'm not the father but there's similar DNA then most likely it's Keem's. We just need answers. We both have families. We got a lot at stake here and you wanna play games!" He snapped. "No see you two are the ones playing games. No one told y'all to fuck me... and fuck me raw at that. YoU bOtH HAvE FamIliEs. Y'all weren't thinking about families when I was bent over!" She spat.

"Why are you doing this? Is there some motive here?" Dre asked, pinching the bridge of his nose. "No there isn't. But it's crazy how everyone knows the consequences of sex yet no one wants to deal with them when they actually happen!" She threw out as she grabbed her things and headed for the door. As soon as she opened it, she came face to face with Giselle. "Heyyyy Gisi," Destiny said, her voice quivered as she took a few steps back. Dre stood up, not sure how to smooth this over. "So lemme get this straight... you have been sleeping with my sister. All while claiming you really want to make things work with me and we're going to be better than before," Giselle said, placing the carseat on the couch so Kendrick could keep sleeping.

"And you have been slithering your ass around trying to do what? Trap a Lyon? What did you fuck Lucious too?" Giselle snapped, walking towards Destiny with every step back she took. "No it wasn't like that. It was a mistake Giselle! I swear it was!" Destiny cried. Giselle looked at Dre, hurt in her eyes but she knew she couldn't be as mad at him as she wanted to be. She got their son kidnapped, then after getting him back she threw herself into work. Not knowing how to handle a newborn or feeling that full bond with him. But as time went on, things got better. Or at least she had thought. "Can we talk?" Dre said, ignoring Destiny's dramatics. Giselle looked at him, thinking if she wanted to talk just yet.

Destiny watched the two silently communicate, not sure whether she should leave or stay. Giselle sighed, giving Dre a nod, but not before back handing Destiny. "You are dismissed," Giselle spat. Destiny picked herself up, unable to stop her tears from streaming down her face. "You didn't have to do that to her," Dre voiced. "I should be doing it to you. Why did you fuck her!? Of all people to mess with!" Giselle whisper shouted. "I didn't intend on doing it but that doesn't make it right because I still did it. I'm sorry. I was still upset with you and I just... I didn't think with my head. I fucked up and now she might be carrying my child. I'm sorry baby," Dre spoke, his voice sincere and low.

"Don't baby me! I get it. I lied and did the unthinkable but I didn't cheat on you. Even with you hiding me away, I never stepped out on you! Whyyyyyy!?" She asked through her tears. Dre walked to the other side of his desk, pulling her into his arms. "I'm sorry baby. I want you. I love you. If you don't believe anything else, believe that. I promise you that things between Destiny and I stopped. I want to be with you and no one else. Just let me prove it to you... please," he begged, lifting her chin up so she could look into his eyes. Before she could answer him, his phone began ringing. He looked at Jamal's name flash across the screen and groaned.

"Not right now Mal," he said into the phone. "Yes right now. It's an emergency without Keem. Get to the house now!" Mal snapped. Dre grabbed his keys and signaled Giselle to come on as he grabbed the car seat. As they drove home, Giselle stared out the window. Taking the long way home, Dre turned on some music. As Right Now played, he licked two fingers before sliding them between Giselle's legs. Catching her off guard, he started playing with her clit. "Dre..." she trailed off, trying to steady her breath. "Shhhh," he hissed, working her core the remainder of the drive. By the time they arrived to the mansion, she had came twice on his fingers.

He cleaned his fingers off, leaning over and planting a deep kiss on her lips. "We'll finish this later," he whispered against her lips. She nodded, biting her lips. As the two walked inside, they were confused as to why Carol and Candace were there and acting irate. "I'm going to put him to bed," Giselle said, taking the baby from Dre. "What's going on?" Dre asked once Giselle was upstairs. "Mom's dad is alive," Jamal told him. "How?" Dre asked, seeing Cookie still shook up from the thought of it. "Daddy is not alive! We were there when he had a heart attack. We were there when the doctors said he had died! There's no way he's alive!" Candace repeated for the fifth time.

"There was no way for Cookie and I to have a 35 year old daughter but we do. A secret kept at the hands of Renee. I don't put it past her," Lucious said. "Did the bomb take out your hearing along with your leg? We were there!" Candace threw at him, getting a glare from Lucious. "Did y'all see him dead?" Jamal questioned, not knowing that three mad black women were going to give him the deadliest looks. "Actually I didn't because Candace was being a bitch," Cookie confessed. "I didn't want to see him," Carol added, both looking at Candace. "I saw daddy. Laying lifeless. They had monitors to keep blood pumping to his body because he was organ donor. That's why he got cremated," Candace told them.

"There's a chance he wasn't dead. Renee tricked the doctors into giving her our baby. I'm sure she was able to pay off the doctors or something," Cookie voiced. "With what money? And how when she wasn't even there?" Carol asked. "She was. She never actually left. It's possible. She would leave money with Aunt Janice and I don't know where she got that money from," Cookie said, feeling she was putting some pieces together. "So where is he now?" Dre asked. "Reign is on her way to get him brought here with Joe. We'll get a call when they get back in town," Lucious explained. "Well I'm not leaving until I see who this person is and who is Reign?" Candace asked.

"She was Nevaeh's twin. Renee took her and kept her away these past 35 years. She's our oldest," Lucious said, holding Cookie's hand. Carol gasped as she rushed over to Cookie. "You got your girl? Cookie..." she whispered as she hugged her big sister, fighting her tears. "Ugh no more crying. I can't deal with anymore crying!" Cookie rushed out, wiping her eyes. "I think we need to get some rest before they get back. No point in being exhausted and trying to process what happened," Jamal suggested. "I agree with Mal. Carol, Candace, you two are welcome to one of the bedrooms. I think my wife needs to unwind," Lu offered, helping Cookie up.

"No Lucious. I need to be awake in case they get-" "Cook! It's gonna be hours before they get back. You can relax in the meantime. You're not going to get in trouble. I promise you," he told her. She let out a breath and went to the bedroom, Lu following behind her. "If daddy really is alive, how do you think he's going to take the news of them still being together?" Candace asked. "If it's really him, I'm sure he knows. TV, news, anything. Reign said he wasn't always in Vermont. I'm sure he knows. There's no way he couldn't," Mal said, letting out a tired breath as he sat down. "You met your sister? What's she like?" Carol asked. "Cookie," Mal and Dre both said.

Upstairs, Cookie paced back and forth, panicking about what this could mean. Would her father be pissed that she stayed with Lucious? Would he know that spent 17 years of her life in prison for Lucious? How would she explain that to him? So much ran through her head as she kept walking back and forth. Lucious cane out the bathroom, seeing her still standing with a towel wrapped around her body. "Baby you gotta calm down," he voiced. "How can I? Everybody is rising from the dead. You know how much my daddy meant to me!" She spat. Lu grabbed her hand, pulling her towards him as she put up a fight. "Stop. No matter what happens I got you. I had you then and I got you now," he told her.

"Daddy is gonna hate you even more," she threw out. "Let him. Joe isn't exactly fond of you either so let the 2 old men have their own opinions. I love you and have since I was 17. You're my wife and nothing and no one will change that. I need you to please calm down," he begged her. "I love you too Lucious," she said, looking up in his eyes. He leaned down, capturing her lips, causing her to melt in his arms. She draped her arms over his shoulder as he pulled her towel off her body. Scooping her up, he walked them over to the bed, laying her down. Kisses being peppered down her body until he came face to face with her pearl. Looking up to her eyes, he could see her pleading him. The same look she held in her eyes the first time they had sex.

Deciding to take things slow, he kissed her inner thighs, adding love bites as well. The constant teasing had her dripping with anticipation. "Please," she begged barely above a whisper. A smooth flick across her clit had her breath hitched. Speeding up just a little bit, Lu threw a leg over his shoulder. She reached down, running her hand through his hair. Her back arched as she slowly grinded her hips against his tongue. Her moans and heavy breathing echoed around the room, music to Lu's ears. Working her middle, he felt her first orgasm hit, covering his lips. Licking up every drop, he drop the towel from around his waist before climbing on top of her.

Pulling him down took her, Cookie captured his lips as he slid into her heat. Going the perfect speed, Lucious hit her g spot. The intensity that they shared could be seen in their eyes. Saying how much they loved each other and how they weren't going anywhere, without even uttering a word. Lucious put his weight on her, leaving love marks along her neck as he pumped harder into her core. Gasps escaped her lips as her walls contracted around his member. His own moans and grunts in her ear put her over the edge. Her nails digging deep in his back, she couldn't hold out for much longer. He sped up, feeling the tension of his own orgasm forming. A piercing scream from her and a throaty moan from him danced off the walls as they both came. The two fell asleep wrapped in each other's arms, giving them the best sleep that they could have while waiting for Reign and Joe to come back.

Vermont

"I'm glad you don't talk as much as Cookie does," Joe voiced as they got closer to the hospital. "You've literally talked this entire drive. And what do you have against her? She's not a bad person," Reign threw out. "She's kind of a bad influence on my son. He wasn't supposed to have a record. He wasn't supposed to be known as a thug or a drug dealer. He was a good kid," Joe answered. "Do you seriously think that my mom had anything to do with that? I might've just met them but I've been at the old house where she grew up. She's smart. She won so many awards in school. As much as my grandparents never told me who she was and her real name, they told me she was a good girl. Always doing as she was told. Getting great grades. My grandfather told me she was headed for medical school. Until she met your precious son," Reign informed.

Joe scoffed as he listened to this story. There was no way in hell Cookie was the saint in all of this. "My son-" "Your son was abandoned and abused by his mother, traumatized by the death of his father, and left to fend for himself. He had to fight for his own life and made a name for himself that everyone in Philly feared. No one dared to mess with him and those that did..." she blew out a heavy breath. "How do you even know this?" Joe questioned as they pulled up to the hospital. "Because unlike you i have talked to people in this family. And even though I didn't know that Lucious Lyon was my father, I loved that man's music. I idolized his story and career. It was one thing that Renee hated out of this world," she confessed.

Joe sat back as she got out, going inside to find her grandfather. Maybe he had everything wrong. He couldn't look at Cookie and see that she wasn't bad for his son. Even with everyone saying that the way she was is the way Lucious made her. He got out, seeing his coworker talking to Reign. "He's in there. He's sedated and they're pushing fluids. He was heavily dehydrated. They're going to draw up paperwork then a transport will be arranged," Reign was told. "Thank you!" She rushed out before going into the room. Joe shook hands with his acquaintance, opting to stay outside and wait for the paperwork. He had a lot to think about before heading back to Jersey.

Reign walked closer to the bed, looking at the man laying in the bed. Tears fell down her face as she looked at him. Never had she seen him so frail and sick. She could only imagine what he had gone through. "Ohhh granddaddy. I'm so sorry. I should've taken you with me. But all that's gonna change now. I'm taking you home. Your family is waiting for you. Your girls are waiting for you," she voiced, placing a soft kiss on his cheek. "Loretha?" He mumbled as he slept. "Yeah. Loretha is waiting for you. She's waiting to see you and she misses you so much," Reign said, fighting back her mountain of tears. Even at his lowest, he always kept Cookie in mind. In that moment, Reign felt something for Renee that she never felt before. HATRED.

After getting all the paperwork signed, the hospital got everything together so he could flown out to Jersey. "You should fly with him," Joe said. "You're going to drive back by yourself? It's dark," Reign reminded him. "It wouldn't be the first time I drove all night," Joe mentioned. "Yeah but... you're 2 seconds from a fossil now," Joe glared at Reign, she couldn't help but to laugh. "I'll be fine. It'll be another hour before y'all head out anyways so I'm gonna get a headstart," he told her. Reign rushed him, giving him a hug. Something that none of the Lyon's had done since he came back into the picture. "Be careful. You not finna have Lucious on my ass about you not coming back," Reign spat. "You'd have to worry about Leah. Not him," Joe said with a chuckle before heading out.

Another hour and a half had passed before they got on the helicopter. Getting settled in at the hospital, Reign waited a couple hours before calling everyone, giving Joe time to get into the city. Looking at the time, she hoped that someone would be awake. The phone rang before someone finally answered. "Yeah?" Lucious answered, his voice thick with sleep. "We're back. I'm at the hospital," Reign told him. "Alright. I'll tell her," Lu groggily said. Hanging up, he rolled back over falling asleep hard. "Who was that?" Cookie asked, laying against his chest. "Reign. They're at the hospital," he said with a yawn. Cookie hummed as she drifted back off.

Suddenly her eyes shot open and she jumped up. "LUCIOUS!" She yelled, pushing him off the bed. Not caring that she pushed her naked 1 legged husband off the bed, she rushed to put on some clothes and go wake up her sisters. Lucious groaned as he pulled hinself up, not expecting Cookie to be so wired up. When he finally get dressed, he came face to face with 3 mad black women. "Don't start," he mumbled. "Losing a leg slowed you down that much huh?" Candace threw out. "Losing a husband got you bitter as fuck huh?" Lu threw back. Carol burst out laughing as she looked at Candace's face. "You're gonna leave him alone," She told her oldest sister.

"Can we just go please?" Cookie snapped. Lucious opened the door, watching all three walk out. Getting in the car, Lu looked over at Cookie who was fidgeting. He grabbed her hand as he drove, planting a calming kiss on the back of her hand. "It's going to be okay baby," he whispered to her. "What if he doesn't want to see me?" She asked. "You were daddy's favorite Cook. It's been over 35 years. I'm sure he's going to want to see you," Carol reassured her, slightly pissing Candace off with the "favorite" comment. "Just calm down. You're overthinking it," Lu told her. She nodded, taking a few deep breaths as they continued the drive. Once they got to the hospital, they found Reign talking to a nurse.

"Hey baby," Cookie said, walking up to her. "Oh my god! You look just like Cook! Except them damn eyes. I know daddy just loved you! I'm your Aunt Carol and that sour bitch over there is your Aunt Candace," Carol pointed out. Reign couldn't help but to smile. "He always told me I looked like my mom. Ummm but he's in room 1215. He just woke up and I was trying to see if they would give him something to eat," Reign told them. Carol and Candace took off to find his room while Cookie stood stuck in her spot. "Aren't you going to go see him?" Reign asked. "I can't. I broke my daddy's heart once. I can't do it," she started to cry, Lucious held her close. "I understand. I broke his heart when I told him I was pregnant with my girls but he forgave me. He misses you so much. Go see him please," Reign told her.

"I'm right behind you," Lu told her. Cookie wiped her face and slowly walked to the room. "Daddy I can't believe it's really you!" They heard Candace say. "I missed you girls so much. I thought I'd never get to see you again. I thank God I'm free from Renee," Reginald voiced. The sound of his voice made Cookie buckle. It was really him. Lu held her up, whispering reassuring words in her ear that helped her pull it together. She opened the door, taking a few steps inside. Everyone grew quiet as father and daughter looked at each other. "Loretha..." he voiced. Unable to control her tears, Cookie looked down. "Hey daddy."

Across Town

Kingsley paced in his living room, waiting on test results to come back. His lawyer had finally gotten them and he was growing impatient. He needed to find out if what he suspected was real. A knock came to the door, Jeff rushed to open it. Snatching the envelope from his laywer, he dismissed him, not wanting to hear his legal advice. After spending time gathering DNA from the Lyon family, he finally landed some of Lucious' DNA and had it ran with Haven's. His whole life he had wanted to confront him after his mother mentioned knowing him as a teenager. Saying that she used to be around Lucious Lyon and his crew had him believe that Lucious was around when Jeff was conceived.

So over the years he became obsessed, convincing himself that he was the son of Lucious Lyon. Even going as far as telling his friends in school that he was Lucious' first born. Getting a job at Empire was his first step, knowing that he needed proof to bring to the head Lyon. So when he gave the evidence to his lawyer, the lawyer figured that the long curly hair he gave belonged to someone else other than Jeff. As he pulled the paper out, he saw the results. 99.99% chance of paternity. He eyes twinkled as he looked at it. Now that he had his answer, he needed to plan out how he was going to tell Lucious Lyon that he was his father. Now was his chance to convince him. It was time to shake up the Lyons Den.
