Calum
I stood in the jewellery shop with my boyfriend as we looked at the engagement rings.
"That one is stunning." He chuckled as he pointed at one.
"It's also five thousand dollars, babe." I laughed.
"Hey, I told you that I don't have a price limit. That ring is going to be on your finger for the rest of your life, it needs to be beautiful." He smiled. I returned it before looking up. My eyes widened.
"Oh, my god." I whispered as I saw Calum across the jewellery shop, looking at earrings. I gulped and looked at my boyfriend.
"I'll be back in a minute." I smiled before heading over to Calum.
"Cal?" I asked. He turned around and his eyes widened.
"Y/N...oh my god." He chuckled slightly.
"I know. What's it been, four years?" I asked.
"I think so, yeah. Time flies, huh." He smiled. I returned it and nodded.
"So, what are you doing in the jewellery shop?" he asked. I gulped and looked down.
"I, erm, I'm looking for an engagement ring with my boyfriend because he asked me to marry him but wanted me to pick the ring." I admitted. His eyes widened slightly.
"Oh...that's, erm, that's great, I'm so happy for you." He smiled, but I could tell it was forced.
"Thanks." I nodded.
"You love him? He loves you? He treats you right?" he asked, looking at me.
"Don't worry, Calum, he treats me like a princess every day, and he loves me unconditionally." I reassured. He sighed and nodded as he looked down.
"So, what brings you here? You looking for earrings for a girlfriend?" I smiled.
"Um, yes, actually, a year anniversary." He nodded.
"Cal, that's great." I chuckled.
"Yeah, but I'm not really sure it'll work out." He admitted.
"Aw, why not?" I asked. He sighed and looked at me.
"I'm still in love with you." He admitted. My eyes widened.
"Calum." I choked.
"Look, I'm not saying that in the hopes that you'll break up with your fiancé and come back to me, there's nothing sinister behind this, I just, I need you to know how I feel." He nodded. I gulped harshly.
"It, erm, it's been good seeing you." I gave him a small smile.
"And you. See you around?" he asked hopefully.
"I'm sure you will." I nodded before walking away, tears leaving my eyes as I went.
Luke
I walked around the supermarket, trying to find what I needed.
"Y/N?" my eyes widened as the familiar voice rang out. I closed my eyes as I slowly turned around. Please, god, no, don't let it be him, I thought as I opened my eyes. Fuck.
"Hey, Luke." I gulped as he smiled at me.
"Hey. How are you? What's it been, three years?" he chuckled.
"Sounds about right." I nodded. He returned it and scratched his head. My eyes widened slightly as a silver wedding ring sat on his finger.
"You're married?" I mumbled. He looked at me before looking at his ring.
"Oh, yeah. Been tied down for a year." He smiled and nodded.
"Um, w-who's the lucky lady?" I asked, forcing a smile.
"Actually-."
"Babe?" my eyes widened as a pregnant woman appeared next to him. A lump formed in my throat as it was her. The woman that Luke had cheated on me with.
"It's Y/N, right?" she smiled.
"I think you know it is, Lana." I nodded, making her smirk and cup her bump.
"Um, babe, do you want to go find your craving food?" Luke gulped.
"Sure. Little baby Hemmings needs his food." She smirked, winking at me before walking off. I scoffed and looked down as tears pricked my eyes.
"I, erm, I'm sorry, about her. She was kind of glad when we broke up, so-."
"Of course she was." I nodded. He looked at me.
"Y/N, please don't do this." He sighed.
"I'm sorry, Luke, but how am I meant to react? That was meant to be me. You were meant to be getting married to me. I was supposed to get pregnant with your child. Not the woman that you slept with behind my back." I choked. He sighed.
"I regret betraying you every day, I'm not going to lie. But it led to the best aspects of my life, my wife and my baby." He admitted. I nodded and gulped as a tear left my eye.
"It was nice seeing you. Congrats on becoming a dad." I nodded.
"Um, yeah, it was good seeing you too." He gave me a small smile. I returned it before turning around and walking down the aisle as tears left my eyes.
Michael
"Who are we going to see? Daddy." I smiled at Alexa as I carried her down the buzzing high street. She squealed as I bumped her up and down on my hip. I looked up the street and my eyes widened as I saw a familiar head of blond and brown hair.
"Oh, shit." I whispered as Michael spotted me. His eyes widened as I walked towards him.
"Hey, stranger." I chuckled slightly.
"Um, hey. How have you been?" he smiled.
"I've been okay. Been busy, full-time mum." I nodded. He returned it before looking at Alexa.
"You kept her, then? I assume that she was the pregnancy." He spoke, nodding to the two-year-old on my hip.
"Yeah. Her name is Alexa. We decided to keep her." I nodded.
"Oh, good. I never did ask who the other man was." He scoffed. My eyes widened slightly.
"Michael, you have every right to never want to speak to me again, but please don't bring that up in front of my daughter." I shook my head. He sighed and nodded.
"So, what have you been up to?" I asked.
"Well, quite a lot myself actually." He chuckled as he held up his left hand to reveal a wedding ring.
"Oh, good for you, that's great. We're still planning ours." I smiled as I held up my left hand and showed my engagement ring.
"Nice." He nodded.
"What's you story? With her, I mean." I spoke.
"Her name is Lia, we've been married for a year, and we have twins on the way." He smiled.
"Oh, Michael, that's great, I'm really happy for you." I nodded.
"Thanks. I best be off, I only came out to get Lia's craving food." He chuckled, holding up the bag.
"Of course. Get back to your pregnant wife." I smiled.
"Thanks. Hopefully, I'll see you around again." He nodded.
"I'm sure you will." I smiled. He returned it before walking away. I took a shaky breath as I looked at Alexa.
"He's okay. He's doing just fine." I nodded, tears pricking my eyes at the relief I felt that he was okay.
Ashton
"Wagons rolling, girls, your dad has the entire day planned, but that depends on me getting you there on time!" I yelled up the stairs.
"I'm ready, mummy." Aida smiled as she walked down the stairs.
"Good girl, thank you." I returned her smile as I picked her up.
"Luna, detach your phone from your hands and get your ass down here!" I shouted.
"Mummy, you said a bad word." Aida huffed.
"Then it's lucky that daddy has been gone for two years, isn't it?" I chuckled as Luna walked downstairs, eyes glued to her phone.
"I wish I would have listened to the people telling me not to get my nine-year-old a phone." I sighed as we left the house.
"Alright, here we are, out you get." I nodded as I parked the car in front of Ashton's house. I climbed out and smiled as the door opened to reveal Ashton.
"Daddy!" the girls squealed as they ran up to him.
"Hello princess number one, and princess number two." He laughed as he hugged them. They ran into the house as he looked at me.
"Hey, Y/N." he smiled, kissing my cheek.
"Hey." I nodded.
"I, erm, I need to tell you something." He spoke. My eyebrows furrowed.
"Okay." I nodded.
"So, you know that things with Haley have been pretty serious for a while now." He nodded. I gulped at the sound of his girlfriend's name.
"Yeah." I spoke. He looked at me.
"I asked her to marry me...and she said yes." He admitted. My eyes widened slightly and I forced a smile as I tried to swallow the lump in my throat.
"Oh, Ash, that's great." I nodded.
"Thank you. I know that the girls love her, I wouldn't have done it if they didn't, and I'm going to tell them today. Well, we're telling them." He smiled.
"That's amazing, Ash. I'm happy for you." I lied, forcing the smile to stay on my lips.
"Thanks. I just thought you should be the first to know, given that she'll now be helping to raise our kids." He chuckled. I returned it.
"Um, well, thanks. I better get going now." I nodded.
"Okay. I'll drop the girls off next week." He smiled before leaning down and pecking my cheek again.
"Bye, Ashton." I nodded before rushing to my car. As soon as I climbed in, the tears started to fall.
