"You probably have no idea what I'm talking
about, do you?" Jun asked Zhan.
"You see Yibo, I and his friend Gio we go
way back. They used to call us the three musketeers in college" He said.
I watched Zhan's eyes widen in shock.
"The problem was that I wanted to be the bad guy, they were the reason why I was in prison in the first place.
So now its pay back time" he said chuckling
"I've been looking for Yibo's weakness for years, I just never thought the opportunity
would present itself in such a beautiful manner." he stroked a strand of his hair.
Jun turned to me, pointing the gun straight to my head
"I should kill you right now for all that you've cost me you son of a bitch" he hissed. And then turned back to Zhan.
"But that would be all too easy; I want to
make you suffer, and how better to do that than make you watch the person you love die in front of you." he said.
I watched Zhan's eyes light up with
realization; he finally saw that I loved him and why we couldn't be together. I was trying to protect him from this, from
psychopaths like Jun, who would use him to spite me.
Fresh tears came down his face; I looked at him remorseful.
I was sorry that I put him through this,
through pain and heartbreak but mostly I was sorry that I put his life in jeopardy.
"Aw sugar, I don't know weather having him love you is a blessing or curse because I was going to kill you
quickly and painlessly. But having made this discovery I'm going to
do it slowly and painfully; just so he could watch you scream in agony" Jun said, grabbing his bracelet.
"Fuck" he said removing his hand as though the bracelet burnt him
"What the hell?" he asked looking at Zhan
"What did you do?"
"Nothing" he replied quickly.
"Bullshit" he shouted angrily
"Take it off now" he instructed pointing his gun at me
"No Zhan don't!" I said, as he tried to unhook it.
"I can't," he said, struggling with it.
"What do you mean you can't?" Jun asked
angrily
"I will kill him!"
"No, please! You can take the bracelet, just please let him go!" he screamed,
Jun lowered his gun looking at him.
"You are willing to die for him?" he asked
incredulously
"Yes, you can take the damn bracelet just
stop this" he pleaded.
Both Jun and I stared at him in shock; he
loved me that much? That he would die for me?
Jun laughed bringing his gun back to me
"Well isn't this touching, too bad I don't like happy endings" he said and pulled the trigger; I didn't even have time to close my
eyes.
"NO!" Zhan screamed as I waited for the
impact but it never came; shocked I noticed two things
The round emerald stones on Zhan's bracelet was glowing; something I've never seen before, and the bullet was
stuck in mid air and then it fell to the ground.
"Amazing" Jun exclaimed looking at Zhan.
"I was right, you can control it"
I took Jun's moment of distraction and
snapped the neck of the man that was holding me. I grabbed my guns
opening fire on all the men that came charging at me.
Zhan stomped his foot on the man that was holding him, making him stagger back in pain, I took that chance and shot him too.
"Run!" I screamed at him, but he didn't
move.
"No" Jun shrieked, grabbing his own gun off the floor and shot at my direction, I ducked and it hit my leg making me fall to the ground, damn it.
"Yibo!" I heard Zhan scream and Jun
grabbed him before he could reach me
"Oh no, you're not going anywhere" he said,
pointing his gun to his head
"You are going to pay for that," he hissed
in fury and Jun chuckled.
I saw Zhan's bracelet glow again and much to my shock his eyes turned completely black.
"What the..." Jun exclaimed shocked as he was floated into the air, Zhan turned his black gaze to him and he let
out an ear-splitting scream as what sounded like bones started
cracking.
Other men came flooding into the lounge room and they too just floated like Jun. His hair started swirl even though there was no air.
My mind couldn't comprehend what was
happening but something told me to stop this
"Zhan" I shouted at him but he didn't respond, he kept staring at the men he was torturing.
I struggled to get up what with one good leg; I went to his side.
I didn't know if touching him was any good, he looked like he was in some kind of unblinking trance.
"Zhan?" I shouted again, shaking him. His
head snapped to me and his bracelet stopped glowing; the black
faded as his eyes returned back.
The men all came down to the ground, they all looked alive; I thought with relief
"Yibo?" he asked weakly and then he
collapsed, Mari and Zela both came running down the stairs.
"Zhan!?" I shouted at him, shaking him but
he didn't respond
"Mari call 911" I screamed at them when I couldn't feel his pulse.
"Zhan dear.. please, don't do this to
me!" I said, giving him CPR,
"I called them, and Liu there on their way"
Zela said, crying.
"Zhan please, come back to me please" I
begged but he still didn't respond.
"Yibo" Mari said through her tears touching my shoulder
I shook off her hand
"He's not dead!" I shouted at her
"He can't be"
He couldn't die, where would that leave me? My parent's death wasn't going to be nearly as painful as his. I couldn't live without him. He was my reason for everything, why I breathed, why I woke up in the morning; I woke up knowing I would
see his beautiful face.
"Zhan.. I love you, please I'm begging you"
I shouted, shaking him gently but still no response, no pulse.
I let out a pained scream and buried my head in his neck.
Mari dropped to her knees beside me, crying uncontrollably taking me into her arms, this time I couldn't fight
her off,
There was nothing to fight for.
