I know rui's a bit destructive, but in the end i couldn't help but love the poor boy, muzan was wrong for that one! So he deserves love too.

You ran through the forest of mt natagumo, specifically at night that is, so you could see your so called friend rui!
Excited tingles coursed through you, skipping along trails to reach the spot you both would always meet at.
He only spared you because your intellect interested him.
You knew mostly everything about him, nothing left to be hidden as you two came close over the weekends you were free.
Yes it's odd. But! he sure was different in a sense, he may have sinned, becoming apart of the damned, but he showed you something you'd never in a million years expect from a demon of any kind...
You stopped meddling with your thoughts, feeling winds gush past you, a white cloth visible to your eye grazing your cheek when you came to a stop, a smile reached your face expecting...-
You let out a sigh of relief at the sight of rui, he stood behind you, he had his hands behind his back.
You sat down on the plush grass criss-crossing in front of rui, he stared down at you in silence for a short second before speaking up, asking you about your day.
"Uh-," You breathed out, not able to say a word, cheekily smiling at rui shoving a red and pink/discolored rose in front of your nose. Shly taking the rose by it's thorns, pricking yourself in the process and examining the first gift of the night you received, you say that because rui would often spoil you with weird items/modern treats whenever you were near.
"Thank you rui.." Noticing your body temperature heat up when he flashed you a short but sweet smile, giving you a hand..when you grabbed his, he quickly ran off in a different direction in the woods, not releasing your palm.
"Don't thank me darling.." was his only response to you, a brown cottage lit up with lights in certain places becoming visible in the clearing up ahead.
He was always so straight forward, making it somewhat awkward for you in these type of situations..you differed, the pang of guilt slowly becoming warming to you.
Your job was to report and slay demons, not fall in love with them.
What rui began to show you was different than what he used to be, he eventually obliged to drink from blood packets you brought to him from the hospital. He seemed to become more nimble the more you visited him. Always bringing gifts, and he occasionally drank the blood deliveries in front of you on purpose, as if he was implying change, that's the only explanation you could think of that'd fit his behaviour.
Before you knew it, all of that thinking caused you to be blindly lead into the house, focusing your vision on rui now sitting in front of you, pins and buttons scattered all over the floor beside him.
He turned his head up to look at you, the soft expression slowly turning into a look of grimace, that was the only thing that he needed to work on, rui still hating the thought of being kept waiting, that was very clear to you...
You became flustered, and hurried to sit next to him, accidentally being too rough doing so- you bumped into him harder than expected. Attempting to get up, your foot pushed a button away instead of lifting you up, causing you to slide forward.
Trembling as your head laid there in rui's lap.
'Gosh this is so embarrassing!' 'So clumsy..'
you closed your eyes tightly waiting for an unsettling reaction from rui, but only a hand was laid on your nose, rui slightly poking your nose as he laughed at you.
You swatted his hand away from your face, heart fluttering. Feeling his hands make their way down to your belly. Ravishly attacking that spot, he was tickling you,-
"How dare you defy me?" He clearly joked, laughs erupting from you as you laid there defenselessly, red strings binding your arms.
Soon you pleaded for him to stop, understanding he released the red strings from your wrists, rubbing them before you leaned onto rui, resting your head on his shoulder, eyes closed;
You felt his heartbeat slow down each time you shifted, pressing your head up against the crook of his neck. You know it's sudden to be doing so, but you felt like giving into rui's vibes from before, meaning this different type of 'love' he was visibly showing you, though you discarded it unsure at the time. You didn't care about what he had to say though, if he was or was not.
You just felt oddly comfortable in the certain kizuki's presence.
Annoyed at the silence he was giving though he'd be the talkative type around this time, you turned your neck towards his face, looking up at his strange multicolored eyes..placing a quick kiss on his lips, laying your head back on his shoulder casually.
"I..take a great interest in you." Your eyes widening at the words rui just spoke, almost bursting out in laughter at his wording, though you took this one seriously, not focusing on how you and him would always joke around. Actually pretty stunned at what you've just heard..
Lighting from outside lit up the room completely, the sound of rain hitting the roof aggressively calming you down, your left over anxiety from thinking put away.
"Rui, do you mean that?" Your stomach bubbling with a light feeling.
"Yes...i do." It seemed as if he was still unsure with himself, you could feel his pondering. Maybe his inner demon is coaxing him into abandoning you, even if he had feelings for you?
You furrowed your eyebrows at the thought, not wanting that to come between the two of you now, even if this was a sin, leading up to you tarnishing with him he was the cause of your daily euphoria, his passionate side changing every negative thought you had into something positive, he could be destructive, but you fell for him.
"I do too, rui." Wrapping your arms around his waist, bringing him closer to you, feeling fingers play in your hair.
"I love you y/n." He sighed out, you looked up in shock at his words, but his face...
Apart of his face seemed to fade out of white and into a creamish color.
Tears began bubbling at the ducts of your eyes, grabbing ahold of his face, his thumbs gently wiping away the tears that flowed down your cheeks. His warm smile having butterflies go from your stomach to your spine.
"Rui..you're becoming human again.." You said, disbelief crossing you multiple times in thought, though you were thankful this was even possible, happening before you.
"This change is because of you my love." Rui's smile bringing one to etch onto your face in the process, leaning onto him with much more force than before.
"I love you too rui.." Becoming stunned as you should've been from the beginning, tears still absently flowing down your rosy cheeks, hugging him as if he was going to disappear then and there, rui rubbing his nose into the crook of your neck, reassuring you.
"We'll be forever love."
Looking down to one of his arms wrapped around your waist, the colour fading between cream and white.
Though you didn't care at this point, smiling into the embrace without a worry.

This wasn't exactly romantic, i couldn't really see rui being that way one hundred percent aside from the way he would speak?
Maybe?
Though i still thought this was extremely cute and filling.
