That sounds awful.Sunset was horrified after what happened to her magic and the portal to Equestria.
Sunset: "What happened to my magic?!"
(Y/N): "I think Sci-Twi must've taken it by that device."
Sunset: "What?!"
(Y/N): "It must've absorb your magic once it was detected, we have to tell the others."
Sunset: "Right."
You and Sunset ran back inside and look around for the girls until spotted them in the halls.
(Y/N): "Bad news everyone, Sunset has lost her magic and the portal to Equestria is closed!"
The girls look at you and Sunset with a worried look.
Twilight: "How is that possible!?"
Applejack: "What do ya mean the portal's gone?"
Sunset: "I mean it's gone. It's closed. It's not there anymore!"
Rainbow: "How'd that happen?"
(Y/N): "Sci-Twi."
Dazzlebooms: "Who?'
(Y/N): "That's the nickname I gave so we can tell the Twilights apart, that device around her neck is able to capture any form of magic from we witnessed, I think the that something happened to you earlier Rarity."
Rarity: "Oh my."
Adagio: "This won't end well."
Sonata: "Wait, what about beings of pure magic, like the Watcher?"
(Y/N): "Well, it was strong enough to absorb magic from both Sunset and the portal, it think it should gain more power to be able to catch something as powerful as the Watcher."
You and the girls all enter the gym and you spot Twilight.
(Y/N): "Found her."
Applejack: "What in tarnation is she up to?"
You then spot the Watcher next to the punch bowl as Sci-Twi was following the device.
(Y/N): "She's heading towards the Watcher."
Sunset: "Leave this to me."
You and the girls followed Sunset to where Sci-Twi is.
Sci-Twi: "Twilight, what have you been up to?"
Sci-Twi: "Me? Oh, I was just, uh—"
???(Indigo Zap): "Who wants to know?!"
Rainbow: "Um, we do."
Applejack: "All right, everyone. Let's not get too competitive before the games even start."
???(Sugarcoat): "The games aren't really competitive since we've never lost."
Fluttershy: "That's not a very nice thing to say."
???(Sunny Flare): "Sorry, dearie, but these games aren't about being nice."
Rarity: "Well, you might use a little tact."
???(Sunny Flare): "And who's the big headed man over by the punch bowl."
Adagio: "That's a cosmic being known as the Watcher, all he does is."
Watcher: "Observe."
Adagio: "He observes."
Sci-Twi steps back and bump into Pinkie.
Pinkie: "Hi, I'm Pinkie Pie!"
Sci-Twi: "Oh, hi. I'm Twilight."
Pinkie: "I know. You look just like my friend. Her name is Twilight too. Also. I saw you earlier!"
Sci-Twi: "Okay."
Pinkie then notices Twilight's device.
Pinkie: "What's that?"
Sci-Twi: "It's sort of a spectrometer. I built it to track EM frequencies, but it can also contain anomalies."
Pinkie stared at her for a moment.
Sci-Twi: "It measures things."
Pinkie: "Like the party?"
Sci-Twi: "Yeah, though it doesn't look like much of a party to me."
Pinkie: "I know. Something is definitely missing. Come on!"
Pinkie grab Sci-Twi's hand and pulls her out of the gym while settle the conflict between teams.
(Y/N): "Alright everyone, calm down."
The girls turn to you, including the Shadowbolts, with blushes on their faces. You see the Shadowbolt girls wearing the same uniform while having different colors of skin, hair, and eyes, as well as some differences with accessories and hairstyles.
???(Indigo Zap): "Who are you?"
(Y/N): "Name's (Y/N) Danvers, all-star hero of Canterlot City."
???(Indigo Zap): "Wait, you're the guy who took down Hyperion at the mall, you were awesome with that MonKi guy, you went bananas on him, my name's Indigo Zap by the way."
(Y/N): "Why thank you Ms. Zap."
???(Sugarcoat): "Sugarcoat."
(Y/N): "You know, you remind me of my friend Maud Pie, you don't express much do you, I like ya already."
Sugarcoat didn't physically show it, but she's blushing from the inside.
Sugarcoat's thoughts: "Oh my god he's so nice!"
???(Sour Sweet): "My name's Sour Sweet, don't you forget it!"
(Y/N): "Message received and put in the 'don't forget file'."
???(Lemon Zest): "Name's Lemon Zest yo!"
(Y/N): "You know, you cared the least about winning, cause you're very zen."
Lemon: "I'll take that as a compliment dude."
???(Sunny Flare): "Sunny Flare dearie."
(Y/N): "You know, you're so fancy, that you're practically a queen already, all you need is a crown."
Sunny Flare blushed and giggled.
Sugarcoat: "How long have you been here?"
Church: "We've been here for several months!"
Cinch: "I'd like to thank Principal Celestia for her unconventional welcome. It's been four years since the last Friendship Games, but it feels as though nothing has changed. Canterlot High continues to pick its competitors in a popularity contest and Crystal Prep continues to field its top twelve students. It is a comfort to know that even after so many years of losses, your school remains committed to its ideals, however misguided they may be. I wish you all the best of luck, regardless of the inevitable outcome."
(Y/N): "Hey Cinch, wanna hear my review on your job as Principal."
Cinch then sees you and you're holding a 9 liter metal bottle of Sprite.
Cinch: "What is it?"
You then drink the whole bottle and even at the bottles and finished it.
(Y/N): "This"*burp*"And this"*burp*"And don't forget these"*burp*And some of that"*burp*"This"*burp*"A little more of that"*burp*"These"*burp*"This one"*burp"And this"*burp.*
Cinch was blushing from embarrassment from your review of her doing her job and both teams laughs, including the principals.
Cinch: "Okay I get it!"
(Y/N): "Wait, I'm finished yet, have a taste of these"*burp*.
Everyone, except for Cinch, bursts out laughing which made Cinch leave the stage. Your friends all hugged you and Pinkie came to join the hug.
Applejack: "I'm sorry, Pinkie. I thought your party additions were really swell."
Fluttershy: "They definitely broke the ice."
Rarity: "Yes. If only that Principal Cinch hadn't frozen it again."
Pinkie: "Yeah, she's awful."
Sonata: "You can say that again."
Sunset and Twilight walk over to you.
Sunset: "Wow, Pinkie, what happened to you?"
Pinkie: "I don't know. Everyone started having fun after Sci-Twi and I fired the party cannons and I ponied up."
Sunset: "Of course you did."
(Y/N): "As expected."
Pinkie: "But then the magic just drained right out of me."
Sunset: "Wait, what do you mean "drained out of you"?"
(Y/N): "It's Sci-Twi's device, I don't think it's just limited to just magic, apparently it absorbs Mana and Cosmic energies, that means it absorbs all forms of energy."
Twilight: "I think you're onto something (Y/N), that device is a lot more powerful than we imagined."
(Y/N): "And on that note, the Watcher became a prisoner in that device."
Applejack: "Hey. Where is Sci-Twi?"
Pinkie: "Oh. She's right... Uh, well, she was right here."
Then the Plumbers walk up to you and your friends.
Kevin: "Start explaining!"
(Y/N): "Well, Sci-Twi's device absorbed Gwen's powers and captured the Watcher."
Gwen: "What your saying is true, then that device is very powerful, if given enough energy, it might even capture a Celestial Sapian."
Adagio: "And who are you three?"
Gwen: "Gwen Tennyson, and this is Kevin Levin and Rook Blonko."
Rainbow: "Rainbow Dash."
Twilight: "Twilight Sparkle."
Rarity: "Rarity."
Applejack: "Names Applejack."
Pinkie: "I'm Pinkie Pie and this is Fluttershy!"
Fluttershy: "Um, hi."
Sunset: "Sunset Shimmer."
Adagio: "Adagio Dazzle, and this is Sonata Dusk and Aria Blaze."
Sonata: "Hi."
Aria: "What's up."
Gwen: "Any ideas on controlling the magic here?"
(Y/N): "The best plan for right now is not pony up near Sci-Twi."
Rainbow: "Don't pony up next to Sci-Twi, check."
Later, Every is minding their business until Vice Principal Luna comes on the PA systems.
Luna: "Good morning, students. I'm sure you're all thrilled to start the first day of the Friendship Games. Our competitors will face off in every aspect of the CHS curriculum, culminating in the elimination equation finale."
Cadence: "Welcome to the first event, the Academic Decathlon! You'll be scored on chemistry, home-ec and everything in between. But remember, only the six students from each team with the most points will move on to event number 2. Good luck!"
Team Wondercolt gave a glare at Team Shadowbolt and vice versa. The five Shadowbolts you met from the party talk amongst each other.
Indigo: "Girls, I have an idea."
Sugarcoat: "We're all ears."
Sour: "Make it quick!"
Indigo: "If we beat the Wondercolts hard enough, (Y/N) will have to go to Crystal Prep."
Lemon: "Dude, that plan is so awesome that it just blew my mind."
Sunny: "Good idea dearie."
When Kevin sees Sunset's board, she was actually correct.
Kevin: "She's right with that answer."
(Y/N): "I hear ya buddy."
Luna: "That means the winner of the Friendship Games' first event is Twilight Sparkle and Crystal Prep!"
The CPA student were clapping without being amused while you and the girls run up to Sunset and Rainbow hugs her.
Rainbow: "That was awesome!"
Rarity: "Truly amazing!"
Sunset: "But we didn't win!"
Applejack: "That was as close to winnin' as Canterlot's ever been."
Twilight: "Besides, I would've done the same thing."
You and the Plumbers walk up to Cinch.
(Y/N): "I know better liars than you Cinch."
Cinch: "You accuse me of lying, it's no wonder your school is losing."
(Y/N): "We're not that dumb Cinch."
Kevin: "I know my mathematics like the back of my hand, and Sunset is correct."
Gwen: "We know what you're doing."
(Y/N): "You're trying to get us to forfeit."
Cinch: "For an idiot you are for going to this school, you're quite observant, but have consider that fact that I'm principal with high authority while you are a student with nothing."
(Y/N): "After this, you will lose everything."
Cinch: "We'll see."
She walk off with a smirk. Gwen then place a hand on your shoulder.
Gwen: "You okay?"
(Y/N): "Just fine, she can't call someone out for being incorrect."
Kevin: "Yeah, Sunset is correct, trust me, I know."
Rook: "Everyone, Cadence is about announce the participants of the next round."
(Y/N): "CPA has more advanced classes than ours, that doesn't mean Sunset is dumb."
They see Cadence walking on stage along with the Shadowbolts.
Cadence: "After a careful tally of the points, we'd like to present the students moving on to the Friendship Games' second event."
The Shadowbolts are used it and they don't care. You head to the girls, joining the group hug. Sci-Twi sees you and sighs. You then head to the statue and Sci-Twi follows. While the others head to a certain direction, you, Fluttershy, and Twilight stay behind. Fluttershy and Twilight then notices Sci-Twi behind the bushes.
Twilight: "Oh, it's just me."
Fluttershy: "Do you wanna give her a treat?"
Sci-Twi sees the cat in Fluttershy's backpack and smiles and come out of the bush.
Sci-Twi: "Guess I'm not the only one to smuggle her pet into school."
Fluttershy: "Not just one."
Sci-Twi: "Oh, wow. All I have is Spike."
Then Spike came out of Twilight's backpack.
Spike: "Did you say something?"
(Y/N): "Other Spike."
Spike: "Oh, okay."
Fluttershy: "Does he talk?"
Sci-Twi: "Um, not that I know of."
Twilight: "Congratulations on winning, by the way. Though, it didn't seem like anyone on your team was very excited about it."
(Y/N): "Yeah."
Sci-Twi: "No one at my school gets excited about anything they didn't do themselves."
Fluttershy: "That sounds awful."
(Y/N): "What a bunch pricks, can't believe Cinch made them like that."
Fluttershy then pick up Angel bunny and hold him in front of Sci-Twi.
Fluttershy: "Here. Hold this."
Sci-Twi: "Um, why?"
Fluttershy: "Holding a bunny always makes me feel better."
Sci-Twi: "Well, that's ridiculous. But... Ooh. It actually kind of works. I'm on the other team and you just lost. Why are you being so nice to me?"
Fluttershy: "You looked like you needed it."
Fluttershy then pony up and it worries both you and Twilight.
(Y/N): "What did I tell you Fluttershy, don't pony up near Sci-Twi!"
Fluttershy: "I couldn't help it!"
Sci-Twi: "Whoa!"
Sci-Twi's device then absorb the magic from Fluttershy and create portals, Spike then spot a creature and chase after it, then he got zapped by magic and you jump in to save him. Sci-Twi then close the device and you hand Spike back to Sci-Twi.
Sci-Twi: "Spike, are you okay?"
Sci-Spike: "Um, I think so."
(Y/N): "Congrats, you said your first words."
Sci-Twi and Sci-Spike then scream at each other in fear and Sci-Twi run off.
Sci-Spike: "Twilight, wait!"
Fluttershy: "Ugh, bye."
You put Fluttershy in your arms in a bridal position.
(Y/N): "Come on, let's meet up with the others."
Later in the halls, Sci-Twi was running from Sci-Spike who is chasing her.
Sci-Spike: "Twilight, come on! Wait for me!"
She was then cornered by a wall and try to keep her distance from Sci-Spike.
Sci-Spike: "Why did you run away like that?"
Sci-Twi: "Um, oh, I don't know. Maybe it has something to do with the glowing girl, or the hole in space. Or my talking dog!"
Sci-Spike: "Yeah. Weird, right?"
Sci-Twi: "Are you okay? How do you feel? What happened? Where did you go?"
Sci-Spike: "Hey, one question at a time! This is pretty new to me, too."
Sci-Twi: "Sorry."
Sci-Spike: "All I know is I chased that pointy rabbit through the glowy thing and then I was somewhere else. Next thing I knew, I was back in that nice girl's arms and I could talk! I don't really understand why I couldn't before. I mean, it's so easy."
Cinch: "Twilight."
Sci-Twi: "Quick! Hide in here!"
Cinch: "Who are you talking to?"
Sci-Twi: "Um, myself. It's a nervous habit. Were you looking for me?"
Cinch: "Indeed I was. Quite a coincidence that the CHS students moving on to the next event are the same nice girls who were so interested in you, along with that oath of a hero, don't you think?"
Sci-Twi was blushing and thinking about you.
Sci-Twi's thoughts: "(Y/N) is pretty sweet."
Cinch: "TWILIGHT!"
Sci-Twi: "Huh, I'm not sure."
Cinch: "Perhaps you should get to know them after all."
Sci-Twi: "But I thought you didn't want me to."
Cinch: "Let's just say I'm covering my bases. Who knows? Perhaps they will reveal to you the secret to Canterlot High's newfound success."
Sci-Twi: "I dunno. Spying feels kind of... wrong."
Cinch: "Well, it's your decision, Twilight. It's not as if your application hangs in the balance. On second thought, yes, it does."
Spike walks out of the closet.
Sci-Spike: "Man, she's awful. What are you gonna do?"
Sci-Spike: "I don't know, Spike. I don't know."
Later, the Plumbers and the girls are reunited with you, Twilight, and Fluttershy as they explain what happened.
Fluttershy: "All I did was hand Twilight a bunny. Then I ponied up."
Sunset: "I just don't get it. Rarity's magic came out when she made us outfits. Pinkie's when she fixed the party and now Fluttershy."
Kevin: "And don't forget you're one of the victims."
Sunset: "Thats for the reminder Kevin."
Gwen: "Don't forget me and the Watcher being a prisoner."
Rook: "I hope he forgives us after we free him."
Fluttershy: "And then Twilight's pendant thingy just pulled the magic right out of me. I couldn't even stand up."
Pinkie: "Like me at the party!"
Rarity: "Or me right before we met Sci-Twi!"
Sunset: "So she's stealing magic?"
(Y/N): "Not just magic, but also cosmic energy and mana, and what if Hulk was near it and it drains away the gamma radiation out of him, or drains the Odinforce out of Odin, or even drain power from the infinity stones making them as useless pebbles."
Applejack: "I don't know. She doesn't seem like the magic-stealin' type."
Rook: "Applejack is right, the device is developing overtime as the more energy it absorbs."
Skurd: "Almost like it's gaining sentience."
Sunset: "Yeah, but she had something to do with closing the portal. If her pendant can pull in magic, maybe it stole the portal, too."
Rook: "That's an excellent assumption Ms. Shimmer."
(Y/N): "Remember everyone, know the fight..."
What you said triggered a flashback from Gwen's childhood. You were in a dojo and you were a yellow belt and Gwen was only an orange belt, you two were at the same age of 11.
Sensei: "You must fight at your best of your own ability, (Y/N) and Gwen, you two will spar against each other."
Gwen: "Good luck beating me yellow belt."
(Y/N): "My father told me, know the fight."
You and Gwen ready your fighting stances. you two start fighting for awhile, and then you take the victory, which surprises everyone.
Gwen: "I'm a higher belt than you, I can't believe you beat me!"
(Y/N): "The belt is just a statement, like I said, know the fight."
Gwen then got up and walk up to her grandfather, who was wearing a red flower shirt and blue pants. He finished his chat with your father.
Gwen: "Grandpa Max, (Y/N) beat me, and what does he mean know the fight?"
Max: "Hmm, well I was talking to his father just now and he means he's been fighting the person behind the belt, not the belt itself."
(F/N): "That's right, my son knows that a belt is just a belt, like I always said: know the fight."
Max: "That is good advice, I will remember that."
You then walk up to Gwen a put a hand on her shoulder.
(Y/N): "Listen, the belt is like power, the power never make you, it's you that makes you."
After the flashback, Gwen remembers who you are.
(Y/N): "...inside the pendant is what we're fighting, not CPA or Cinch or Sci-Twi, just whatever entity besides the Watcher, is developing in that pendant, when it's released, something bad will happen."
Rainbow: "Yeah, for now, let's just focus on beating the Shadowbolts. And as long as this event puts me in a playing field, I don't think we've got anything to worry about."
Applejack: "Oh, it puts you on a playin' field, alright."
She points to a 3 lyre obstacle course composing of: Archery, Relay Skate Race, and Moto-Cross. Everyone we're in shock from what they see.
Sunset: "Am I the only one who thinks this is overkill?"
(Y/N): "No, overkill is when you wrestle Devil Dinosaur."
Sunset: "I think that's just you."
