The next morning as I was walking in the lobby
“Morning” Rixanne greeted me
“Morning”
“Please follow me” Rixanne said seriously
“Where to?”
“This way” she said as she turned right
“Where?” I said as I followed
“Here” She said as she pulled me in a room
“The maintenance room?” I said as she kissed “Hey!” I pushed her “What the hell?”
“Sssshhh” she said “Just one kiss”
“I told you, not in the office”
“You should have stayed with me”
“We should go”
She stops me “Does your burn still hurts?”
“I put an ointment on it. It's fine already”
“Then let me check it” she said as she looked my neck, then a few seconds, I could feel her lips kissing it
“Rixanne…”
“I can’t follow your rules anymore” she whispers
I just can’t stop her. My body is weakened by her touch. I’ve lost my senses until I felt her hands under my dress “Rixanne! Stop” I said “Enough” I pulled out, tidy myself and went out.
Rixanne followed me “I’m sorry. I just can’t stop myself” she explained “And nobody notice”
“I have an eight thirty meeting. I should go” I said as I left her
After I finish my meeting,
“Ma’am, Ms. Rixanne is here” Sheena said as Rixanne went in
“Do you need anything?”
“I’m sorry about earlier”
“It’s fine”
“Have lunch with me”
“I’m sorry. I have a lunch meeting with a client”
“Then dinner”
“I’m sorry, dinner’s reserved for my brother”
“You’re avoiding me”
“I am”
“Very honest ha”
“If you don’t need anything, will you please leave? I have things to do”
I can see how disappointed she is
“Alright” she said “I’m going” she added and left.
As I heard the door closed. I sit back and relaxed my head. This is what I hated the most. How will I get out of a situation that I planned well in the beginning?
That evening as I was having dinner with Alvin
“You look kind of sad” Alvin said
“What?”
“Something happened in the office?”
I looked at Alvin. I wanted to talk to him but I just can’t. I need someone to share what I’m feeling right now but I can’t think of anyone. I’m falling inlove with Rixanne.
“Nothing” I said “Food is great” I changed the topic “How’s you and Ellie?”
Alvin smiled “We’re fine”
“That’s great. Have you seen each other again?”
“We always do. Last time, she asks me about you. She wishes to see you again”
I smiled “Maybe I could”
“That’s great”
The next day,
“Sheena, I’m going out of a bit.” I looked at my watch “If anyone calls, tell them to call me later”
“Alright ma’am”
“Alright, bye”
I stop in front of the chocolate house. As I enter
“Anielle!” Ellie called as she sees me. She’s smiling as she walks towards me “Glad you came again”
“Yeah” I smiled at her. “I… should order” I said
“Alright” she accompanied me to the counter
“Well…” It’s taking a lot of time for me to choose
“Do you want to talk about something?” she asked
I looked at her “Ah”
“Come inside. We’ll talk in the kitchen”
“Alright” I followed her inside
“You and your brother's the same, taking a lot of time choosing chocolates when you needed to talk”
“I really wanted to talk about something but I don’t know whom to talk with.”
“Alright, so, can I be of help?”
“I’m inlove with someone but I can’t love that someone” I said as I walk back and forth “Everything happens so fast. I really don’t know what to do. I planned to make that someone fall for me but I revoked because you know, like in movies or series, the one who planned was the first one to fall inlove and yet it happened”
Ellie looked at me “It’s your boss isn’t it?”
“What?”
“Rixanne, if I’m not mistaken?”
I looked at her seriously “How did you know it was her?”
“Rather than referring her as a ‘him’ you referred her as ‘someone’. So I guess she’s a woman and she’s your boss”
“I should not be in love with her right? I’m not a lesbian in the first place and she’s my worst enemy.” I said as I calm down and took a sit. “What should I do? And ah… please keep this from Alvin. I don’t want him to know”
“So that’s the reason you came to me. You can’t talk to Alvin about it because you’re afraid to tell him the truth. That you’re inlove with a woman? As far as I know, Alvin is not homophobic and he can understand.”
“I just don’t want him to know” He’s Rixanne fiancé for goodness sake and he’ll kill me with laughter and embarrassment. He knew I hate Rixanne the most. “And his not good with advises”
“So you think I’m good with it.”
“I just needed someone to talk about it. Just to let this feeling out…”
“You’re just afraid. Afraid to admit the truth, you’re definitely inlove with her but denying for some reasons. All you have to do is to accept it” Ellie said as she handed me a chocolate “Rethink”
“Thank you” I said “Ellie… if it’s okay… can I talk to you again?”
“Of course, you can come by anytime. How about we make chocolate?”
“Right now?”
“Yes”
I looked at my watch. “Guess I have enough time” I said
Ellie teaches me how to make chocolate. It was fun.
“And here’s your first chocolate” Ellie said
I smiled “Thank you”
“How about you give it to Rixanne?”
“Do you think she’ll like it?”
“Of course she will. Let’s wrap it for her”
“Alright” I said as I noticed the time “Oh shit. I need to go back.” I looked at Ellie “I’ll return for the chocolate.”
“Alright”
“I’ll see you at six. Bye and thank you very much” I said as I rushed out.
Back at the office,
“Sheena I’m sorry. Anyone called?” I said as I entered my office
“Ma’am… ah…”
I stop as I saw Rixanne in my office table “Why are you here?”
Rixanne looked at me “This is my 7th time coming to your office. Where have you been?”
“I have something to do”
“More important than work?”
“Not really that important. Do you need anything?”
“None, I just want to see you.” she looked at me “Can we have dinner?”
“I’m sorry, I have to go…” before I can continue, she kissed me. I turned my head to stop her.
“I’m sorry to do that again” she apologize “You smell like chocolate”
“If you don’t have anything to say, please go”
“I just wanted to remind you, only a week left and the deal is over” she said as she walks away
To think about it… with our deal, I am the only one who will lose in the end.
Later the day, as I was going out of this office
“Ma’am” Sheena called “Someone’s here to see you”
I looked at the door, “Ellie?” I said as I walk towards her “What are you doing here?”
“Well, you said you’ll pick the chocolate at six” she said
I looked at my watch “Oh, I’m sorry. I didn’t notice the time”
“It’s alright… here” she said as she handed it to me “Well, I should go back now”
“Wait, I’ll drive you there”
“It’s fine. I have my motorcycle with me”
“Then let me accompany you down. I’m going home anyway”
“Alright” she said and smiles.
I took my bag and walk with her.
“You should give it to her” Ellie said as I was staring at the chocolate while we’re waiting for the elevator to open. Ellie wrapped it well.
“Nah… I think I should keep this myself”
“Something happened?”
“Nothing really… I just wanted to keep this for a while. It’s the first chocolate I made”
“Then you should make another one for her”
“Yeah” I smiled at her as the elevator opens.
“Well, look who’s here” someone said from the elevator. Ellie and I both look at person talking.
“Rixanne” I said
“Going down?” Rixanne asked
“Yeah, actually going home” I said as Ellie and I went in.
“Going home? Both of you?”
“No, I’m returning to my shop” Ellie said as she pushes the basement button
Rixanne looked at me “And you? You said you have somewhere to go”
“Yeah, I was actually going to see Ellie but she came to see me”
Rixanne looked at us seriously. She also notices the chocolate in my hand.
The elevator opens at third floor where I guess Rixanne should be heading but she never leave the elevator.
“Are you not going out?” Ellie asked
Rixanne looked at Ellie “No... I think I should accompany both of you down at the basement” she said as she closed the elevator
She’s jealous.
Ellie looked at me and smiled
I smiled back at her. She thinks of the same thing.
“Ehem” Rixanne cough.
We stayed quiet as the elevator opens at the basement.
I looked at Rixanne “See you tomorrow” I said as Ellie and I went out the elevator
Ellie wave goodbye to Rixanne as the elevator closes.
“She’s thinking the wrong idea” Ellie said
“Yeah”
“Well then, my motorcycle that’s way” she pointed left “Where’s your car?”
“There” I pointed the car in front of us
“Well then, I should be going”
“Take care”
“Yeah, you too” she said as she left
I was about to open my car when the elevator opens again. I saw Rixanne walking out and heading towards me.
“Give me your key. I’m taking you home” Rixanne said
She’s really angry.
I handed her my keys.
We’re not talking as we’re driving home. I notice that we’re not really going in my house but to her pad instead.
“This is not my way home” I said slowly
She kept quiet
“Rixanne”
“Is she the reason?”
“Reason for what?”
“For avoiding me”
“Ellie has nothing to do with this”
“Then why? I need to know why?”
Because I love you, that’s why but I can’t tell her that… because I’m afraid of what will happen. “I have nothing to say to you, in the first place, it was my idea to come to you so there’s nothing wrong in avoiding you now. We’re enemies aren’t we?”
“I see… we’re still enemies.” She looked at me “Thank you for reminding me that again” she said with an angry tone. “Sorry for dragging you here” she added as she went out of the car and slammed the door.
She was really angry…
As days go on, we’re back in our normal way. Normal like we do not exist in each other world.
I was in the middle of work when someone knocks on my office door.
“Busy?”
“Ellie” I called as I smiled “Come in”
“I brought you some chocolates” she said as she handed me a box
“Thank you. I’m happy you came to see me”
“Well… to tell you the truth, your brother begged me to. He said his twin sister is bit depressed this few days but have no idea what the problem is”
“Guess you know what”
“You should talk to her, tell her what you really feel”
“It’s not the right time.”
“When will be the right time?”
I bow my head “I don’t know”
“Hey” she patted my shoulder “There’s no harm in trying”
I smiled “Yeah”
“Don’t make your brother worry about you so much”
“Let him”
“You really are the bitter twin”
“I’m not”
Ellie laughed as the door opens
“It’s a sore seeing you again” Rixanne said as she went in
Ellie looked at Rixanne and smiled “Good Afternoon”
“Do you have any business here?”
“Well…”
“You should leave already”
“She’s my visitor Rixanne” I said
“It’s still office hours Anielle, you should do your work and not flirt with someone”
Ellie smiled and looked at me “Then I should be going Anielle, you should give your boss some chocolates. She’s as bitter as you are.”
“What did you say?”
“Nothing, I should go Anielle. I’ll wait for you at my store anytime” Ellie said as she waves goodbye and walks out
“Bullshit” Rixanne said
“Do you need anything?”
“Where’s the file I told you to give me?!” Rixanne angrily said
“It’s already in your desk. What do you came here for Rixanne? Are you checking me out? You’re always in good timing”
“Yes”
I looked at her
“I can’t take you out of my eyes…I can’t do this anymore Anielle… I’m going crazy if I can’t touch you” she whispers
The same goes for me but I keep calm “Let’s have dinner after office… alright?” I said
She looked at me and smiled “I’m looking forward for it” she give me a kiss then and walks out
I looked at my watch again, why is the time so slow? I can’t even focus on work.
“Ms. Anielle, Director Cormwell is here” Sheena said
What? Why is he here? Geez, of all time “Let him in” I said
“Good afternoon” Renz greeted as he went in
“Is there anything you want?”
“Yeah, I’m meeting with a client today and I want to ask you to come with me.”
“You’re in wrong timing”
“This is a very big client. It’s worth million Anielle”
I looked at my watch again “Alright” I have enough time
Renz smiled “Let’s go”
“Alright” I took my coat “Sheena, if Rixanne ask where I am, tell her I’m in a meeting with a client.”
“Alright ma’am”
“You’re going out with Rixanne?” Renz asked
I looked at Renz “No, she might ask the files she needed” I lied “It’s not important anyway”
“Okay”
I looked at my watch again, it’s already nine.
“Thank you for the wonderful night” Renz said to the clients
“Thank you, you earn our support. To you too Ms. Richards, you are a very intelligent woman” one client said
“Thank you”
“Well, we’ll be going now.”
“Thank you” Renz said as the clients left
I look at my phone, there are few messages.
“I should drive you back home” Renz insisted
“No, I have to go somewhere” I said as I took my coat and left Renz alone.
I’m not going home but instead to Rixanne’s.
I called Alvin and told him I have to go somewhere important.
Few minutes later, I’m standing outside Rixanne’s pad.
As the door opens,
“I’m sorry” The first thing I said
“It’s fine. It’s a meeting anyway. Why do you come here? Have you not received my text message? We’ll have dinner tomorrow”
“I just needed to see you”
Rixanne smiled “Come in then”
As she closes the door, I never hesitated as I pulled and kissed her. I missed her lips so much. All I wanted right now is to touch her as much as she wanted to touch me.
(Flashback – The night at the bar)
“Ms. Anielle” Sheena called but I have no power to stand up.
“Is she alright?” I heard Rixanne said “Oh my god. Can anyone call a doctor?”
“She’s fine ma’am. She just passed out because of the alcohol” one employee said
“Anielle… Anielle, wake up” Rixanne called “I should get her home”
“Alright.” Sheena said as two men help me out
“Sheena, here’s the payment for the drinks” Rixanne said as she handed Sheena money “I know Anielle promised to pay for it.”
“Thank you Ms. Deri”
Rixanne smiled as she left
“This is not my car” I said as I was drunk and dizzy
“You’re drunk Anielle, you can’t drive by your own”
“So what? I don’t want to be with you!”
“Can we just forget about these issues?”
“ Yeah, you’re good at it. A person who forgets everything, even our friendship”
“Anielle?”
“We’re bestfriends back then but then you just leave me for no reason and then came back like we have no past. It’s that how you hate me that much?”
“I don’t hate you”
“Yeah really, so why do you always ignore me? Always humiliating me?”
“It’s what you called a defense mechanism” she answered
“A what? What did I do?”
She looked at me seriously “Do you know the reason why?”
“Yeah, tell me”
“I’m inlove with you Anielle”
“What?!”
“I’m gay Anielle… and I’m inlove with you”
“You’re gay” I laughed “Really?”
“Really”
There was long silence…
“Quite shocking ha” she said “I realize it when we’re becoming close back then”
“So that’s why you decided to leave. Why didn’t you tell me then?”
“So that you’ll hate me?”
“Why would I? I’m your best friend”
“I don’t want you to be my best friend. I want you to be my girlfriend. I want to touch you!”
“Rixanne…”
“Good that I told you everything, you would probably forget everything when the alcohol worn out. Then where back as enemies”
“Then, let me be your girlfriend”
“What?”
“You can touch me if you want”
“Are you serious?”
“Like you said, I might forget about it”
“But what if not?”
“Then, we’ll be together” I said “I’m going to have an affair with my brother’s fiancé” I looked at her and smiles “I’m happy you told me you love me… guess, the feeling is mutual”
Rixanne was just staring at me with teary eyes...
“Why?”
“You love me too?”
“I guess I realized it now”
“Then, you should not forget.” She said as she kissed me.
[Flashback end]
“You planned all of this!” I said as I remember everything. We’re still both naked and in bed. “This isn’t fair!”
Rixanne smiles at me
“Like I thought, I’m the only one who’ll loss in the end!”
“But you didn’t” Rixanne said “You won. So, what is it that you want?”
I looked at her. This is what I’m planning for, “Break up with Alvin” I said “I want you to break up your engagement with him”
“I don’t know you’re that kind of possessive” Rixanne said and smiled at me “But if that’s what you wanted… then be it”
I also want this to happen but why do I feel uneasy about it
