Almost two weeks had passed.
He hadn't seen Jungkook since.
Taehyung was still stuck on bed number 16 in the infirmary. He had sworn to himself that he would fake it for as long as he could to stay, but turns out he didn't even need to.
The irony, huh.
It was painful everyday, the nurse constantly rushing over when she heard him whimper slightly. He really adored her kindness and was so grateful to be in his position, if only he could minus the hurt.
"Yah Taehyung-ah, you're slowly recovering!"
"Haha, that great news." The disappointment was clear in his voice.
"Why, aren't you glad the suffering is slowing down. My goodness, you're one lucky guy because I've never had to deal with a patient that had as many wounds as you. Your stab, it could've been fatal. So don't be so ungrateful for the fact that you still live." The nurse smiled sweetly at the one before her.
Taehyung knew he skipped the ditch close to his death. Even though he had been so happy lately, it would all end when he was returned to the Kim Palace, and he'd rather die here than face what waited for him there.
*A week later.*
Taehyung stiffened at the words his nurse spoke.
He would be sent back now, right.
Tears prickled in his eyes, threatening to pour out, but he held them back.
Not now Taehyung, stay strong.
The nurse was busy tidying the medications while she was speaking to him.
"(Blah blah blah)... so that's why our beloved queen is coming to meet you. She'll be waiting out in the fields for you so you better get dressed and all. You really are a precious beauty, you look much better now." She ruffled her hands through Taehyung's soft blonde hair.
He smiled softly at her until it hit him with a whack.
"W-w-what! The queen! Please there must be a mistake. I can't be in her presence!"
"Why not? Hm, your rank is fine. She speaks to many betas often in great happiness, so don't be afraid dear."
I'm not a beta though. What do I do!? J-Jungkook. I have to meet Jungkook somehow.
"Please don't mind me asking, but do you think it's possible for me to meet Jun-, I mean the young prince?"
"Haha I'm sure you don't need to call him that dear. And he's meant to return tomorrow night if I've correctly heard, I'm sure you're the first person he wants to see anyway."
Taehyung blushed.
"You'll be escorted to your room so you can go and dress. If you need any assistance feel free to ask any of the maids, they're very friendly."
"I-I have a room!"
"Of course! You're our guest." She laughed at the innocence of the younger.

Taehyung had been very kindly escorted to the room,
His head was still pounding at every step he took, and he struggled to understand what was going on. It just felt as though he was a cog in some clockwork that wouldn't slow down for him to adjust and understand. So he decided to freshen up a bit before he finally got all his thoughts together and figure things out.
After a shower Taehyung felt refreshed. He stepped out of the bath into his room and saw an open wardrobe with hangers of clothing. They all looked new and expensive, and he was really excited to wear them!
After getting all dressed he lay on his bed.
He was afraid, very afraid, but never the way he had been every day of his life. Taehyung has been living the past few months with a strong guilt of the murder of his most beloved friend, and though truly it wasn't his fault there was no one to tell him otherwise.
It was never a place he could call home, but now he hoped for a new home. Sure he was insecure and bottled up tight with fear, the kindness overflowing from every person he'd met overcame it though. It made him want to start hoping for a future again. His smile was abruptly stopped by the thoughts that fired at him.
Remember your place you filthy omega.
No one could love someone as weak as you.
Pathetic waste of space.
Taehyung's stomach twisted as everything his parents had etched into his mind came around again.
I mustn't forget that I'm an omega. I must act my limits. The luck I have to be able to stand and breathe in such an amazing place, I must never take it for granted. I must act the way I've been taught.
But I won't be weak.

Jeon Miyeon almost squealed in excitement of finally being able to properly meet Kim Taehyung. Jungkook made sure no one would go and disturb him in the infirmary, but his mother knew he was just being protective.
She still restrained herself from visiting Taehyung so she wouldn't frighten the boy. He'd been through a lot she was sure, so she wanted to welcome him to the family with a sweet little talk out in the open.
"Your highness, the prince of Faarland is ready."
"Ooooh! Uhm, y-yes let him through." She was more than eager to set her eyes upon the boy who was to soon be his son's mate.
At the sound of footsteps she composed herself under the wooden hut out in the fields, spreading her silk gown slightly and sitting with a tall posture.
Taehyung followed quietly behind the lady that led him to the queen.
He peered round the edge of the doors to see the queen sat elegantly waiting for him, so he began to walk as carefully as he could. The whole time he wished he was invisible, but he didn't stop until he reached her.
He kept his head bowed in front of her, waiting for a response.
About a minute had passed and he wondered why she hadn't said anything so he lifted his head slightly.
Taehyung froze, taken aback at the sight of the queen.
Should I smile, look back down or...
Jeon Miyeon was stunned by the ethereal beauty of the boy before her. She'd known he was a handsome young one ever since she'd seen him at the night Namjoon and Jin's marriage was secured, but she had never gotten the chance to take a close look.
"Woah my son sure hit the jackpot!"
"P-pardon?"
"Whoops I didn't realise I was taking out loud." She smiled awkwardly urging for Taehyung to take a seat opposite her.
"So, Kim Taehyung, how old are you?"
"I'm 21" he made sure to answer with immense politeness.
"Ah may I ask which month you were born?"
"Umm December."
"Good! Jungkook's older then haha he's born in September."
Taehyung didn't know what to say so he nodded shyly.
"I have a very important question, what rank are you?" She stared deep into Taehyung's soft deep brown eyes, while he constantly tried shifting his gaze but was held in place by the authority in her eyes. After all, she was an alpha and he was an omega.
Miyeon was quick to take note of how hesitant Taehyung was.
"Don't worry dear, your family already knows that we know your rank, but for personal suspicions I thought I'd just ask. Please this won't change anything, I just need to know,"
I-I should tell the truth...
"U-Umm it's o-omega." As soon as he finished uttering the words he hung his head down low in shame.
"Y-you're a what, an omega right?!"
"Yes,"
Miyeon pulled Taehyung into a warm but sudden hug. The omega could swear he heard sniffing.
"You, you don't know how happy that makes me my precious! No wonder you act this way! Don't be that way darling you're just as much human as any of us, if not worth much more. That's a relief though I thought id never get to see any grandchildren." She was truly and deeply content. What a rare and precious gem they had found!
"Then I'm guessing you already know what's going on between you and Jungkook. We'll have preparations for everything as soon as possible my love!" She cooed at his breadcheeks.
"Wait, I'm still a little confused please would you mind explaining?"
"Ah. That dummy Jungkook doesn't know properly either, how about I get you guys together tomorrow then explain hmm."
But Taehyung was still blank and he was determined to find out. He urged Miyeon a little more,
"Taehyung-ah, I don't know much about your past, but please know that we're all a family now. You mean a great deal to me and I hope you realise that. You're just as precious as any of my other sons. I'm sure Jungkook will take very good care of you, but if you do have any complaints don't be afraid to tell me and I'll snap his neck!" She got a little to enthusiastic and noticing Taehyung slightly taken aback she chuckled awkwardly.
"Don't mind me dear, this is what old age does to you.
She detached herself from Taehyung and felt intrigued to know more about him, and so they sat there for a good hour or so, opening up and chatting.
This place was his new home.
This wonderful woman was his new mother, and she'd made sure that Taehyung would call him that. It could only mean one thing, his own parents had failed, since he was now not only alive but the one who would be taking Jungkook's side, not Jisung. Though it wasn't ever explicitly told to him, Taehyung wasn't dumb enough to not get the jist of things.
And now for once he could truly say he was excited.
As he sat by Miyeon who lovingly spoke to him as he should be, Taehyung realised something.
A home,
Taehyung had seemed to have found one that was more welcoming than he'd imagined even the gates of heaven would be.
