After the practice match between Karasuno and Nekoma; the team and Coach Ukai realized the we need to step up our game if we wanna win the Interhigh prelims, so for the past few days you and the team have been practicing more harder than ever before.
As of now you are in English class, you fidgeted with your pencil while looking ever so often at the clock
'Why the fuck is it when every time I wanna go to practice time slows down ' you thought while looking at the window. Like as if god has heard your wish the bell finally rang.
You gathered your stuff and headed to Kageyama's desk which was a few rows in front of yours
"Ready to practice the quick? or are you gonna be a sleepy head and sleep here for the rest of the day?" you asked while poking his head with your finger, he groans but slowly wakes up
During the week you and kageyama have been practicing a quick that is more of a 'trump card' if you are ever in a bad position
"This time I will try to make the ball a little lower so you can have a precise hit" he said.
You and kageyama went out of the class and met up with Shoyo on the way
"So how is it going with that new 'trump card' quick?" Shoyo asked while humming
"Well we still need improvement but I think we can be able to perfect it in about two days" Kageyama responded while you just nodded to his statement
"W-What you guys are really that far in?! You guys just started yesterday, how come when we did our own quick, it took us about a 2 weeks!!" Shoyo said while pouting
"Unlike you idiot I have more experience when it comes to quicks and with Kageyama as the setter we will be unstoppable! Right kageyama?"
"U-um...y-ya sure" you looked at Kageyama to only see a hint of pink on his cheeks before he looked away
You three finally reached the club room and split up so you could all change. When you changed you went back to the club room
"I'm coming in!" You said while opening the door slightly, peeking through the crack of the door, you scanned the room to see if it was ok to go in, just thinking about what happened the last time you opened the door without warning makes you cheeks all red.

You just finished changing and wanted to hang out with the boys in the club room, you went to the club room and opened the door without warning; which was a big mistake on your part, when you opened the door you saw that most of the boys were shirtless and was preparing to get changed
"W-why a-are y-you g-guys s-shirtless" you exclaimed while immediately covering your eyes
"Hahah sorry (y/n) we forgot to tell you that you should knock" said Sugawara
"I-it's f-fine j-just put o-on a d-damn s-shirt" you said while you face was like 50 shades of red, which made laughed making you blush more

You peeked through and saw that most of the team was hovering around Tanaka
"What's going on here" you asked while entering the room, while not before closing the door
"We are looking at the new issue of the volleyball magazine" responded Nishinoya
"What really!? Let me see" you pushed everyone away and grabbed the magazine out of Tanaka's hand
You skipped though the pages and stopped at the picture of Ushjishima.
"Ugh not Ushijima again, I swear if you are here right now I would punch you in the face-"
"How do you know the number one ace in Japan" Asked Yamaguchi
"Well when I was invited to the Japan's youth training cam-"
"YOU WERE INVITED?!?" everyone exclaimed
"Why are you guys so surprised?" You asked while glaring at them
"W-Well you are still so young and I don't think that they would allow it" said Asahi
"True actually, I was only invited to participate it in for a quarter of the training camp but I didn't do the rest because the actual reason was because my dad was invited to help out with the players so they asked if I could tag along"
"Makes sense" Tanaka said while chuckling
"WHAT YOU DONT THINK I CAN MAKE IT!?" you shouted which made the second year sweat
"Nonononono a-actually i-I t-think y-you w-would d-do g-great" Tanaka said while the rest of the team just backed away from him hiding behind Daichi for protection
"I thought so" you said while smiling, which made everyone sigh in relief especially Tanaka, its pretty weird how you could easily change your mood in a flip of a switch
"Well let's get started or else coach will get mad! chop chop everyone" you said
'she can really be scary sometimes' everyone thought in unison
"What are you waiting for! let go!!" snapping them out of their thought
"Yes!" Everyone said in unison while you just smiled
'How did I get so lucky' you thought while walking with them
You guys entered the gym and was immediately called by the coach
"Today we will start to practice with saves and low digs"
You and the team lined up and started to run and slide down to catch the ball from hitting the ground, after that coach served the ball to let your guys dig it up, As the day almost come to an end you all were pretty sweaty and went to drink some water
"(Y/n) and Kageyama I want to talk to you guys" Asked Ukai
You and him went and waited for what he will say
"How are you two doing with the 'trump card' quick attack?"
"Well so far we established to quick so now we are just practicing on perfecting it" stated Kageyama
"Will it be ready for the Interhigh prelims?"
"Yes sir!" You both said
"Right now since you guys are pretty good and low digs I will let you both start on practicing it while I stay with the others"
You both nodded and went back to the others, after you rested for a bit you and Kageyama went to the opposite side of the court and started to practice

So far you and kageyama are still trying to perfect it, but for some reason the ball cant reach your hand
"What...are we...doing...wrong?" You asked while panting
"I...don't...know" respond kageyama who is on the floor also panting
"How are you two doing?" You looked up and saw Sugawara coming
"Every time kageyama try to set the ball it is like it can't come to me in the right way"
"Well I don't know how to fix this but try to communicate how you both feel comfortable doing"
"Communicate...?" You both said in unison
You both stood up and started to think, until an idea popped into your head
"I got it! Why don't we make signals to tell each other if we let's say for example if we would go to the left and make it a little higher..uhm we can do this " you did a peace sign while Kageyama just nodded
"Well we will not know until we try"
You and kageyama got into position, since you asked Tsukishima and Asahi to block for you guys you needed to analyze their height
'Ok if I run in full speed and delay my jump they will be in a good height for me to hit the ball to send it right through' before you got into position you came up to kageyama and whispered it to his ear, at first he blushed because of the distance of your two faces but still listened to what you said
"If I give you 3 fingers that mean I will do it" you whispered and he nodded in response
You walked back to your position and Kiyoko tossed the ball to Kageyama, you immediately started to run in full speed which made the blockers to start to panic a little, when you reached the net you gave Kageyama the sign and pretended to jump which caused them to jump, when you saw that they were at a good distance from the ground and you jumped as high as you can and spiked the ball which was sent flying the other direction.
You land on the ground and just looked at it then turned to Kageyama, when both of you realized that you did it, you didn't know even possessed what has happened till it finally clicked
"OH MY GOD! YESSSSSS" you screamed to him and punched the air in victory while kageyama was looking at his hands amazed that he actually did it
"Good job you guys I actually didn't know you could do that" Asahi said while rubbing the back of his neck
"Tch. It was still a cheap trick" said Tsukishima
"Well if it was just a cheap trick how come you fell for it" you said while smirking
He just growled and walked away, after you and Kageyama celebrated; Coach Ukai came
"Good job you guys in perfecting the quick, it will be and excellent 'trump card' to use in the Interhigh Prelims next week" he said while you two looked at him
'slowly but surely Ushijima, I will bet you..just wait and see'

Right now you are in the bus with the team heading to the Interhigh prelims, during the car ride Shoyo threw up on Tanaka's lap and we had to stop the bus and clean up, but after that fiasco you guys finally arrived
You stepped out of the bus and walk up with your team
"INTERHIGH HERE WE COME" you said while walking with your team to the entrance
