It was finally the weekend. Luka managed to reconnect his relationship with Marinette, apologizing for being an absent friend. Marinette, of course, accepted his apology since she knew the reason for it.
"The perks of people not knowing who you are behind the mask." She thought to herself.
The two friends were currently at Luka's house. They had a Kitty Section rehearsal for the new song they had come up with. They were planning on making an album and posting it on their website that Marinette designed for them. After what happened with Bob Roth they weren't taking any chances. And because of Marinette's connection with Jagged Stone they were confident that they would be going somewhere in a music career.
"Alright, just one run through to see how we're doing and then we look at Marinette's album design?" Luka asked the group. All of the members nodded. They then looked at Marinette to see if they were in the clear. She nodded with a smile causing the group to smile. All the members then looked at Ivan to cue them in. Ivan tapped his drumsticks together and soon the band started to play again.
Marinette was excited. More than usual. This rehearsal was different from the rest because it was the first time Luka would be performing a song that he wrote lyrics to. Not to mention he was singing it too.
(Duality - Set It Off)
When the song was done Marinette clapped her hands and cheered.
"Luka, you wrote that?" Marinette asked in shock and wonder. Luka's eyes widened and he blushed while rubbing his hand on the back of his neck.
"Ahh, Luka!" Rose said while hugging him from the side. The rest of the members then started to tease the blue-haired boy.
"Was it okay...?" Luka asked, unsure about the song he wrote.
"Are you kidding me?! That was amazing!" Marinette exclaimed causing Luka to blush even more. He then shook his head and looked over to Marinette.
"What about you Marinette? How's the cover art going?" He asked.
Marinette was taken back a bit, but she smiled.
"I kept it simple as you asked. It's not a lot, and I'm okay with suggestions, but here it is."
She then showed the group what she was working on. All the members gasped in awe at Marinette's design. It wasn't as vibrant as Jagged Stone's album cover, but it was what they wanted.
"Well...?" Marinette dragged.
The members looked at each other with smiles.
"It's perfect," Luka said with a bright smile.
For the next hour, the group was recording and editing their songs to place in their album while Marinette was digitizing the album cover and updating the website. The time it took to finish all the work was about five hours. It was intense, but the group kept smiles on their faces knowing that they were being productive. Soon the time was 7:55 pm. Ivan already went home but Rose stayed as she was sleeping over for the weekend. Both Rose and Juleka turned in for the night, leaving Marinette and Luka alone in his room.
Luka was currently editing song audio on his laptop while Marinette was doing her final touches on the album cover on her tablet.
As she finished she saved the picture, placed down her tablet, and stretched to crack her back. The action made her sigh in comfort. She didn't realize how stiff her back was until she stretched. Luka noticed and smiled. He then took off his headphones to give his full attention to Marinette.
"You okay?" He asked.
Marinette looked at him and hummed with a smile to respond with his question. Luka then walked over to sit beside Marinette.
"How's the album cover?" He asked.
Marinette showed the result.
Luka smiled at the result.
"It looks great. Simple, but noticeable. Just like we asked." Luka said with a smile.
Marinette nodded her head. She then yawned, covering her mouth. Luka saw how tired the girl was and smiled at her.
"Looks like someone needs to go home to sleep." Luka teased.
Marinette giggled.
"I'll take you home. It's getting late."
Luka then packed Marinette's tablet into her bag, took her hand in his, and brought her outside. He grabbed his BMX and told Marinette to stand on the tire spokes and hold onto his shoulders tight. Luka then started to pedal his way towards Marinette's house with her holding on to him. He made sure he was careful as neither of them had a helmet on.
In no time at all, they were at Marinette's house. Marinette jumped off Luka's bike and bid him a "goodnight" with a sweet smile.
When Luka was home he could barely sleep. His mind kept on going back to Marinette. He had the urge to see her again. Sass noticed the boy's want to see the girl again.
"Would the young hero like to see his princess?" The snake kwami asked with a sly grin.
Luka looked at his kwami with a smile. He then nodded his head in response.
"Then just say the word," Sass said with a smile.
Luka then transformed into Viperion. He snuck out his window and made his way to Marinette's house. He was currently perched on the building across Marinette's house to see her standing on her roof in her pyjamas stargazing with a smile on her face. Viperion didn't realize how long he was staring at Marinette until she waved at him. Viperion was shocked but then waved back and jumped over to meet the girl.
"Bonsoir." He said to the girl.
"Bonsoir." She replied with a smile.
"How has your night been going?" Viperion asked the girl standing beside him.
She smiled.
"It was nice. You remember that boy I told you about?" She asked.
"Yeah... Luka, right?"
Marinette nodded while humming.
"We got to hang out today. He said he was sorry for being distant with me. Thank god too. I honestly thought that I did something wrong." Marinette said with a laugh. Viperion laughed in return.
"I'm glad you got to hang out with him. It's nice seeing you smile." He said sweetly.
Marinette then sighed. Her smile dropped. Viperion noticed and his smile dropped.
"No, where did the smile go?" He asked cutely.
Marinette then smiled with a small laugh.
"Remember when you took me to the Eiffel Tower and I said that I wanted to tell him something, but I didn't know what to say?" She asked him.
Viperion nodded.
"Well... I..." She dragged.
Viperion looked at her with more interest.
"I... I like him... a lot." She said with slight blush spreading across her face.
Viperion's eyes widened.
"She likes me... SHE LIKES ME!" He thought in his head.
"The problem is... I'm afraid that it won't work because..." She dragged again.
"Nevermind..." She didn't want to continue. She knew that if she continued she would expose her secret identity. She looked at Viperion to see that he had a blank expression on his face.
He then licked his dry lips.
"Mari I..." He dragged.
"Yes?" She asked, wanting him to continue.
"I... I'm..." He kept pausing.
He looked at Marinette deep into the eyes. It began to make his water.
"I need to go... I'm needed somewhere else right now..." He said in a whisper.
Marinette looked slightly disappointed.
"Oh, okay... be safe." She said, trying to hide her sadness.
Viperion nodded and went on his way without saying "goodnight."
