Part II

The department store was mostly empty, as Jisoo and Jennie had strategically planned to come on a weekday, when most were working.

Still, their security trailed, far enough to be forgotten, but close enough in the event of a freak episode from a fan.

Jisoo was six months pregnant, and once again, her demeanor had shifted.

Jennie was quite pleased to find that she'd shed her insecurities, and was pretty much back to being her normal self.

The two were hand in hand, making their way towards the baby section, getting ready to buy clothes and necessities for the baby's arrival. They already had been gifted much of what they'd need, but it was more about the experience, to them.

"She's going to need a crib...and another one, in case the first one breaks. Toys. Bins of toys, Jisoo- wait, no. A playroom. God, Jisoo, I didn't even think about that-" Jennie's ramblings were cut off with a stolen kiss, Jisoo unable to resist smiling.

"What?" Jennie's brow furrowed, and Jisoo's smile grew.

"Baby steps, Jen. Pun intended. We're here for clothes. And, need I remind you, not due to a shortage, in fact, we have too many already. But the book I read recommended doing this as a milestone."

"Did the book mention a spare crib?" Jennie quirked a brow.

"I don't think the book assumes the average reader can afford two cribs."

Jisoo sighed, taking a look at Jennie's loose and summery look. Her crop top on, tight jeans, a hat that Jisoo couldn't pull off , even when she wasn't pregnant.

"What?" Jennie frowned, pausing immediately.

"Nothing." Jisoo assured. "I'm just jealous of you right now."

Jennie wore a look of guilt. "A few more months. Hang in there." She murmured.

Jisoo tsked. "Are you kidding? I'm enjoying this, every second."

"Really?" Jennie brightened, and Jisoo swooned.

Jennie had truly been going above and beyond to ensure that Jisoo's pregnancy was not only the most comfortable, but also the most luxurious.

Little did Jisoo know, Jennie wasn't at all finished, in her endless parade of thanking the woman she loved for carrying their child.

"Baby, you treat me like a queen." Jisoo assured her. "Now come on, let's go find cute baby clothes we don't need."

They made their way over, stunned by the collection of tiny outfits, sneakers, and accessories there were. Colorful and an ever constant reminder of the new addition to their lives, everything on the racks fascinated Jisoo and Jennie to no end.

"Do you think she'll be a Converse girl? Or a Vans girl? And no, Jennie, Louboutins are not-"

"Oh. My. God." Jennie whispered, freezing in place, eyes wet with the beginnings of tears.

"Babe?" Jisoo's head snapped up, and panic set in on her expression. "Jennie, what is it?"

She followed her wife's gaze to a rack, displaying very, very tiny footie pajamas, clearly meant for infants.

"Jen." Jisoo breathed out a relieved laugh, but Jennie's eyes were full of raw emotion, adoration, it seemed.

"They're so small." She whispered, reaching out to hold the small foot portion, her hand entirely too large.

"I know." Jisoo murmured, resting her hand on the small of Jennie's back. "It's a little wild, right?"

"Totally." Jennie sniffled.

Jisoo found herself swooning again. Jennie's heart was so big, and pure, capable of such immense love. Their daughter hadn't even arrived yet, and Jennie was already head over heels for her. It was this kind of passion and loyalty that had become even more prominent during Jisoo's pregnancy, making her fall even deeper in love, if that were possible.

"It's strange to think...She's right here." Jisoo took Jennie's hands, resting them atop her baby bump. "And she's even smaller than that." Jisoo's voice was dreamy. "And she's going to grow, and grow, and become a little Jennie..."

"I can't wait to hold her." Jennie gushed, overwhelmed with emotion.

I can't wait to see you holding her.

Jisoo wiped a stray tear from Jennie's cheek, thrilled to be giving Jennie the ultimate gift, of life, of love.

*****

Lisa and Irene were draped around Jisoo on Irene's couch back at her place, the two of them poking and prodding, as any best friend in their situation would.

"I'm craving meat. Like, filet mignon." Jisoo groaned.

"Yeah, we know. You said that, like, eight billion times." Lisa snorted, resuming her work of morphing Jisoo and Jennie's faces on her phone on some cheap app, trying to imagine what their baby would look like. "I have some cheez-its in my car, though."

Irene grimaced, feeling responsible as the host. "I could tell Bogs to pick some up on their way home."

Jisoo waved her off. "I don't want to cook. And Jennie's been going out of her way to dote on me. She needs a break."

"Speaking of which." Irene cocked a brow. "So...you know how Bogs and I are heavily considering getting pregnant-"

"Ugh, that sentence." Lisa wrinkled her nose in distaste. "You're getting pregnant, not the both of you as a collective couple."

"-Are you?" Jisoo grinned, eyes alight at the new information.

"Yeah." Irene rubbed her neck. "But...we had some concerns..." She drawled awkwardly. "Specifically, like..."

"She wants to know if you two are having sex." Lisa rolled her eyes. "Newsflash, Irene, they are."

Jisoo smirked. "Is that what this is about, Irene?"

Irene turned a shade of red. "I read that some couples just completely...lose their drive, and-"

"Only for a while." Jisoo amended gently.

"So you mean-"

"It comes back."

"And you've-"

Jisoo's smirk only grew. "Mhmm."

"And it was-"

"Good, Irene." Jisoo snorted. "I didn't think you were the shy type."

"Yeah, but give her a break, you've got a bun in the oven!" Lisa, ever blunt, was straight to the point.

"Were you nervous?" Irene asked sympathetically, well aware of Jisoo's struggles with her body issues, in the past.

"No." Jisoo tsked softly, voice dreamy and far away. "I mean, it's Jennie."

"Oh, right, but that's not fair, she's obsessed with you." Irene grumbled.

"Like Bogum isn't with you?" Lisa teased. "You guys are the mushiest couples I know."

"I heard you call Chaeyoung snuggle bunny when you were drunk last week." Jisoo fired back, and Lisa paled.

"That's news." Irene grinned, delighted to hear that tidbit.

"If you're asking if I was self conscious, then yes." Jisoo took pity on her, feeling guilty for their inability to stay on a single topic. "But you just realize the immensity of what you're doing...you're carrying life. From the love of your life. So yeah, a few stretch marks aren't going to get in the way."

Irene nodded, touched by Jisoo's words.

Lisa swallowed the lump in her throat, hiding her emotions behind a curt, "So she hasn't kicked yet?"

Jisoo knew she wanted the same thing with Chaeyoung, and she was damn happy to lead the way for her friends, if it convinced them to take the chance.

"Any day now, according to my mom."

"I bet Kim would cream herself when that happens."

"Shut up, Lis, you always make everything gross-"

A knock at the door signaled Bogum and Jennie's return, from his show filming, where Jennie had been the guest of the evening.

Mostly, everyone wanted to hear about the pregnancy so far, and Jennie turned out to be the most popular guest in weeks.

"They're home." Irene rose, as eager to greet Bogum as Jisoo was to see Jennie.

Jisoo's expression changed entirely, and Bogum came through the door first, followed shortly after by Jennie, in an elegant dress and heels, looking like quite the celebrity.

Jisoo's tunnel vision set in, and her only mission in life seemed to be embracing Jennie, who'd met her gaze with one of her own, and a gorgeous smile to accompany it.

Jennie gave Lisa a little smile and a wink before standing over the couch Jisoo was seated on, bending over to give Jisoo a peck on the lips.

The smell of her perfume washed over Jisoo's senses, and she was in heaven. She felt safe, and happy, and for some reason (she had an inkling it was part of her pregnancy), she felt more drawn to Jennie than ever before.

Her body craved Jennie's presence, her soul craved Jennie's smiles and little chuckles, and the way she'd rest her hand near the baby bump at all times.

Pathetically, they'd become even more attached, but neither of them cared.

It felt right, and maybe a little indulgent, but perfect nonetheless.

"You ready to go home?" Jennie murmured, rubbing Jisoo's shoulders from behind, casually working out any tension in Jisoo's neck with long, deft fingers.

"Yes." Jisoo whined, cracking an eye open in her blissful state to glance apologetically at Irene and Lisa. "Sorry girls, but momma's gotta lay down and let her pants open. And maybe get something to eat....sorry Bogum."

Bogum grinned. "To be honest, that was my plan, too."

Jisoo laughed with him, taking her time to say bye to everyone, until Jennie took her hand, and led her out the door and to the waiting car.

The ride was comfortable, Jisoo snuggled into Jennie's side in the back.

Jisoo almost never drove since she'd discovered she was pregnant. Sure, it was excessive, to be chauffeured about in a tinted SUV with a driver and all, but Jennie wouldn't have anything less.

Jisoo, of course, wasn't complaining.

Especially when she got to cuddle with Jennie in the back like lovesick teenagers.

Jisoo's stomach growled, and Jennie wore a little smirk.

"Sorry." Jisoo mumbled. "Stupid pregnancy cravings."

"Don't be sorry." Jennie nudged her softly, their hands entwined. "Let me guess...filet mignon?"

Well, the cover was blown. Might as well go all in, now.

"I miss Roma's buttery filet." Jisoo wailed, muffled by Jennie's shoulder, where she'd buried her face in anguish. "Roma knows just how to make it, and it's still sizzling, and the plates are hot..."

Jennie nodded knowingly, rubbing her chin. "....What if I could get you some...right now?"

Jisoo pouted. "Baby, don't tease. You don't know how badly I want it."

"Oh, I think I do." Jennie chuckled. "Do you remember what I promised you? Back before all of this...on those lazy nights where we'd just be laying in bed together, and you probably thought nothing of it."

Jisoo's brow furrowed. "I remember...you told me, when this happens..." She gestured to her bump. "That you would do anything in your power to take care of your girls..."

"Mhmm." Jennie hummed, in that arrogant sing song way that made Jisoo weak at the knees, because her intentions were as pure as could be, and her methods...well, they were flashy. "Whatever my girls want." Jennie emphasized. "Which is why...we're not going home right now."

Jisoo froze. "We what?"

Jennie smirked. "Don't worry, you can still open your waistband if that's what you want, love. It's only you and me."

Jisoo's jaw dropped. "Jennie Rubyjane Kim, I'm not dressed to go anywhere-"

Jennie rolled her eyes. "God, Jisoo, it's like you don't know me at all." She teased.

"What kind of ace do you have up your sleeve, Kim?" Jisoo narrowed her eyes, lips quirked in an amused grin.

"Don't you trust me?" Jennie batted her lashes, and Jisoo couldn't help but kiss her perfect lips, pink and inviting, and softer than ever.

"Of course." Jisoo nodded, as the car rolled up to a tall building, on a very busy street.

"Good. And don't worry- there's an elevator."

*****

"Jennie. You didn't." Jisoo stepped out into the vacant rooftop restaurant, complete with dim lighting, candles, and no other patrons.

"You mentioned you were craving it two days ago. I flew Roma in-"

Jisoo was already crying.

Jennie couldn't help but laugh, at her wife's overly emotional state, but she wiped at Jisoo's tears anyway.

"Shhh. That's okay." Jennie snickered, kissing the stains of tear tracks on her cheeks.

"I'm sorry you just..." Jisoo couldn't find words. "I...I can't....hormones..."

"I know. It's okay, Jisoo, you don't need to say anything." Jennie's voice was enticing and soft. "Roma just wants to probably annoy you with the usual. Talking to the baby, asking you how far along you are... She said that's all she wanted as compensation."

Jisoo shook her head in awe. "Roma can have the baby as far as I'm concerned." She licked her lips, smelling the appetizers.

"Let's not get carried away." Jennie snorted, leading Jisoo to their single table by the window, boasting an incredible view of the city, lit up as the dark velvet of the night sky took over.

"I'm not dressed for this." Jisoo glanced around a bit nervously.

"Jisoo. You could've come in your pajamas. I booked the entire place. There's no one here but Roma and one server."

Jisoo glanced away for a second, avoiding Jennie's gaze. "But it's a date and I'm not dressed like you-"

"I figured you might say that." Jennie gave her a patient smile, not once annoyed by her apprehensions. "Would you excuse me for a few minutes?"

Jisoo tilted her head. "Of course, but-"

"Be right back. Try the asparagus!"

*****

Jisoo didn't have to wait long for Jennie to return.

Jennie was grinning as she sat down beside Jisoo, wearing sweats and her glasses, hair in a messy bun.

"You changed?!" Jisoo couldn't fight the incredulous smile on her face.

"Do I know you? Or what?" Jennie's brows danced as she made a teasing face at Jisoo, reaching for her hands across the table.

Jisoo shook her head in awe. "I'm a lucky girl." She murmured, reaching across the table to caress Jennie's cheek. "I cannot believe you did this for me."

Jennie puffed with pride, thrilled to be the source of Jisoo's happiness. "Not just now, Jisoo." She spoke tenderly, however, sincere in her words. "Always. You, and..." She glanced down, nodding at the baby bump. "You, baby girl." Jennie's voice became immediately soft, full of love.

Jisoo couldn't explain it. Some warm feeling radiated throughout her body, just watching Jennie's demeanor with their child. She didn't know if it was the hormones, or if it was simply how she truly felt, but it was incredibly satisfying.

Having Jennie's child, watching Jennie get protective, imagining that their little daughter would be just like her.

It filled Jisoo's heart to the brim.

Jennie rested her hands on the baby bump, leaning down to place a few soft kisses over it.

"Hi, sweet girl. It's momma. I love you so much-"

And then it happened.

Clear as day, there was a kick against Jisoo's stomach, and Jennie's hand.

They both froze, clearly in shock.

"Did she just?" Jennie cut herself off.

"Oh my god." Jisoo gasped, clutching Jennie's hands over her belly. "Jennie, she kicked!"

Jennie's face was one of complete wonder, as she tilted her head to the side like the most curious puppy, regarding a strange object.

God, Jisoo fucking adored this woman.

There was no one better to share the experience with.

"It's momma." Jennie tried again. "You just kicked, baby girl! I....I don't even know what to say!"

There was the arrogant, larger-than-life Jennie Rubyjane Kim, at a loss for words simply because her baby kicked inside her pregnant wife.

The miracle of life was humbling, it would seem.

Jennie was peppering kisses to Jisoo's covered belly, completely disregarding anything else in the moment.

"I love you." She whispered to her baby, knowing that somehow, maybe, she was hearing, and understanding. "Always, little one."

*****

Jisoo's studio was alight with the fiery orange glow of the setting afternoon sun, cast into the windows of the penthouse, far above the bustle of the city.

A canvas sat in front of her, non toxic paints spread all around her, a few stray marks on her forehead, and cheek.

It was getting harder and harder to work around her growing baby bump, which now constantly put pressure on her. With each passing day, she grew more and more excited for the baby to finally arrive, so she could deflate back to her normal self.

She'd been reaching for a jar of purple paint, just out of reach.

"Oh, dear- let me get that." CL and Dara had just come back from the kitchen with freshly cut fruit for Jisoo, as the two had taken to doting on her, especially when Jennie was at practice.

Chaerin went to hand Jisoo the jar, as Dara set the plate down, coming to rest a hand on Jisoo's shoulder.

"How's it coming along?" Dara asked.

"Well...it'd be coming along faster if I didn't have to reach over my own belly." Jisoo mused.

"Soon, you won't." CL offered sympathetically. "And then you might even miss it."

Jisoo smiled at the thought. "It is nice to be with her all the time, even if she hasn't been kicking much."

Dara frowned. "She has, since the first time, right?"

Jisoo nodded, waving away her concerns. "She does. I wonder if this has some hidden meaning...like maybe she'll be the quiet type." She teased, and Dara rolled her eyes, knowing damn well there wasn't any correlation.

"Jennie Rubyjane's daughter?" CL snorted. "Shyness will be the least of your concerns."

Jisoo chuckled, gaze a little dreamy when she thought about Jennie. "I know." She murmured. "She's going to be a handful."

CL rested her hand on Jisoo's baby bump, a fond smile on her features. "I'd expect nothing less. Two very fiery mothers, and two grandmothers who are going to spoil her rotten."

Dara smirked. "I've been waiting a very long time for this." She agreed. "Whatever she wants, she's going to get."

"Oh, wonderful. Between you two and Jennie, she's going to be the most pampered, entitled little girl." Jisoo snorted, but her amusement was showing through.

"But she's half you, half Jennie. She's going to be fine." Dara reassured. "Have you thought about baby-proofing everything yet? I noticed you haven't."

Jisoo grimaced. "I know, we're waiting on that. I think...we're moving."

"Moving?" CL blinked, tucking her hair behind her ear. "May I ask why?"

Jisoo sighed. "I know it seems like...the worst possible time. But Jennie's hellbent on moving. Not away from the city, or anything...she wants to upgrade."

"From this?" Dara gaped.

"She has this...vision." Jisoo explained. "A huge yard, a play house, a tree house, a pool, a swing, a child's paradise." Jisoo shook her head amusedly. "I don't have the heart to tell her no. Besides, it's not like she'd let me lift a finger during the move, anyway."

"So she's found a place?"

"We've been looking online, together. We think we found a perfect fit. I have to say...after hearing her talk so passionately about it...I want it, too. We're starting a family, so in a way...it's the perfect time to start. And I can double my studio size." Jisoo added with a little grin.

"She knows the way to your heart." Dara tutted.

"No doubt she'll want a fully built in gym as well." CL chuckled.

"Mhmm." Jisoo nodded. "I know it's an undertaking but we're happy to do it. I want a place where Jena can play, not something like this."

"Well I'll take it." Dara teased.

"Lisa's already called dibs."

"Dibs on what?" Jennie's voice sounded from behind them, and Jisoo immediately smiled, a bit too excited just to see her wife.

Jennie was back, hair in a ponytail, in her post workout sweats. She greeted CL and Dara with hugs before turning to Jisoo, the room falling silent to allow them an embrace.

"Hi." Jisoo smiled up at her, and Jennie bent down to kiss her cheek.

"Hi, sunshine." She echoed, a small smile on her lips and a twinkle in her eyes. "How are you feeling? How's the baby?"

Jisoo rested Jennie's hands on her baby bump to answer her question. "Good." She replied. "We missed you, though."

Jennie's smile was one of pure joy as she knelt by Jisoo's bump, kissing it softly. "Hi baby." She greeted softly, but enthusiastically still. "It's momma. I missed you. Did you have fun with mommy?"

Jennie knew it was almost foolish, making conversation with her daughter, but it felt so natural.

In response to her voice, the baby began kicking a flurry, making Jisoo wince slightly at first.

"Oh- oh my god." Jisoo chuckled, and then grinned when she watched Jennie's eyes light up like a christmas tree, an absolutely pure, dimpled smile on her face. "She knows her momma's voice. Wow. She...never kicks like that."

Jennie was beaming, puffing with pride like a peacock, and CL and Dara were watching, grins plastered on their faces.

"Dara, we left our phones in the kitchen!" CL quipped, and the two shared a knowing glance before slipping out of Jisoo's studio.

Jennie cocked a brow at the doorway they'd disappeared through.

"What was that about?"

"They wanted to give us a moment because they think your reaction was adorable and they know I felt the same way." Jisoo stood from her seat, extending a hand to Jennie, who stood to face her.

Jennie blushed slightly, and Jisoo savored it.

"How was practice?" Jisoo asked, leaning forward to place a few kisses against Jennie's exposed neck.

"It-" Jennie huffed as Jisoo's lips touched her skin. "Was good. I'm exhausted."

"Can I interest you in a massage?" Jisoo drawled, her tongue darting out to tease Jennie where she was kissing her.

"I'm supposed to give you massages." Jennie replied carding her fingers through Jisoo's brunette tresses.

"Compromise? We both lay down and just cuddle before dinner."

"I like your style, Kim." Jennie leaned back, meeting Jisoo's gaze.

"That's Kim-Kim to you."

Jennie found herself curled up with Jisoo about an hour later, Dara and CL both gone for the day. Jisoo was propped up against a small mountain of pillows, Jennie absently running soothing circles against her baby bump with her finger tips, Jisoo enjoying the skin to skin contact without a stupid shirt in the way.

"What are you thinking about, pretty girl?" Jisoo asked, watching Jennie with a hidden little smile.

"Motherhood." Jennie answered, gaze locked on Jisoo's baby bump.

"You don't sound excited." Jisoo teased.

Jennie's eyes widened. "Of course I-why wouldn't I-I am Jisoo...I'm excited." She sputtered and Jisoo grinned.

"Wow, baby take it easy. I was teasing." Jisoo frowned. "What's up, Jen?"

Jennie sighed. "It's stupid."

"It's not. Nothing you think or feel is stupid." Jisoo reproached. "Now, talk to me, Jennie Rubyjane." She coaxed.

Jennie averted her gaze. "You know that...my mother and father weren't exactly available to June and me, growing up."

Jisoo nodded quietly, her hand going to play with Jennie's, over her stomach.

"I was thinking about that. And I have a career that...demands time, Jisoo. I mean, what if I end up doing the same thing?" Jennie gushed.

Before Jisoo could answer, Jennie was spiraling.

"There are so many things that we don't know about babies! And children! And raising them! And I have almost no experience from my parents, and some people see me as cold, sometimes unapproachable, my ego is problematic, and-"

"Oh my god." Jisoo recognized the symptoms of an early panic attack in Jennie. "Hey, look at me, Jen. Baby, right here." Jisoo soothed, as she guided Jennie to lay her head down beside Jisoo's, at eye level with her.

Jisoo reached for her baby curls at the base of Jennie's neck, softly playing with them, relaxing Jennie with her touch.

"You aren't your parents, Jen." Jisoo murmured, cobalt gaze soothing, her heart aching for her wife. "And that's the thing- we're supposed to learn from their mistakes. Just now- the fact that you're thinking about this, tells me you're going to be an incredible mom."

Jennie gazed up at her, totally hopeful and vulnerable, and Jisoo's heart clenched.

She loved this woman more than she could ever express. It pained her to see Jennie so unsure of herself.

"How can you be sure?" Jennie murmured, her voice soft and shy.

Jisoo took a breath. "Well, for starters...look at us."

"Us?"

"You and me." Jisoo clarified. "I love you more than anything. You're my moon and stars." Jisoo stroked her cheek, her thumb dragged against an elegant, high cheekbone, a rosy blush left in its trail. "And I know you love me the same way."

Jennie nodded, affirming the fact.

"And through our love...and a little help from science, we made this baby. This child. We made life, Jennie! You and I. There's a baby in there, right now, that's half you and half me. Kind of. But you get the idea."

Jennie chuckled, blinking away her cloudy gaze.

"My point, to this nonsense, is: we're going to love this baby as much as we love each other. And there's no way that can't be enough." Jisoo finished.

Jennie opened her mouth to speak, but Jisoo pressed a finger to her lips.

"Before you say anything, I also want to add, as if it weren't obvious: Jennie, you're the sweetest person I know. No, not because we're together. You have the kindest, biggest heart. No one loves as fiercely, as deeply as you do, okay? You're loyal, protective, and just pure. This baby is so blessed, so lucky to have you as her momma." Jisoo seemed to be staring right into Jennie's soul as she spoke. "Okay?"

All Jennie could manage to do was croak, "Jichu" before she was kissing her, not rushed, unbothered by her own thoughts for once.

Jisoo closed her eyes, savoring the feeling of holding Jennie, the scent of her freshly shampooed hair hitting her as Jennie buried her face in Jisoo's neck, comfortably resting there. Her arm came around to settle protectively over the baby bump, as was her routine before falling asleep.

Jisoo didn't blame Jennie for being speechless, it seemed she'd just taken a ride on the emotional rollercoaster of pregnancy, despite not carrying, herself.

"I love you." Jennie spoke it like she was swearing a sacred oath, her breathing soft, just barely tickling Jisoo's neck. "More than anything, Jisoo, I love you. I'm so in love with you."

Butterflies took off in Jisoo's stomach at that, and it felt like they were in high school all over again.

"I love you, too, Jen. And I have absolutely no doubt that she will, too."

*****

Weeks had passed, and Jisoo was in the middle of her seventh month of pregnancy. While everyone around her seemed to be growing increasingly concerned, she herself mainted her cool.

She didn't know why, but she wasn't nearly as fearful as she'd anticipated herself to be.

In fact, she was the calmest of them all, on leave from work and absolutely relaxing at home with Jennie, when she wasn't at some of her ridiculously long practices.

(She'd explained to Jisoo that, since she was captain, they expected her to stay longer. Jisoo trusted her too much to question her lie, which seemed to be blatantly obvious to everyone except Jisoo).

But now, all her lying and hard work had come to fruition.

Jennie told Jisoo she had a surprise for her, and after a bit of a confusing drive and a blindfolded walk on what sounded like a stony road, Jennie stopped behind her, arms slowly coming around her.

"Jennie, you're killing me. You literally have a pregnant woman blindfolded."

"Where's the trust?" Jennie's playful whisper by her ear sent chills down Jisoo's spine.

"Baby and I are very hungry and-"

"I know, love." Jennie laughed. "Okay, so you remember we were looking at that one house that overlooked the city from the hills?"

"....yes." Jisoo's voice was small.

Jennie slowly peeled off the blindfold, to reveal that they were, in fact, standing in the back yard of said house- expanding for a few acres, overlooking the gleaming city. The sun bounced off the buildings in the horizon, setting everything ablaze with a golden glow. The breeze in the yard swayed through the trees, which led to the massive estate.

Jisoo blinked, once, twice.

No, not a dream.

"....I bought it."

Jisoo froze, as her eyes adjusted to the treehouse.

It was ridiculous.

It wasn't a simple, ordinary little treehouse.

It had a ramp, with lights illuminating the railing, leading up to the structure itself, built and supported between the branches of the two sturdy trees Jisoo had seen in the photos, when they were browsing.

It was a literal treehouse.

A swing sat on the edge, hanging gracefully in the wind.

"...And those football practices I've been going to?" Jennie rubbed the back of her neck. "I...was actually working on this."

Jisoo was gaping, unable to form words.

Every damn time she thought Jennie couldn't surprise her, she had to go out and one-up herself in the most ridiculous, fantastic way possible.

She surprised Jisoo.

With a mansion.

Casually.

"It's sturdy. Will you do me the honors?" Jennie extended her hand to Jisoo, and Jisoo blinked.

"...Jisoo?" Jennie's voice seemed uncertain, now that she couldn't get a response from her wife. "Are you....Did I overstep? You loved this one, and I haven't even listed the penthouse, so if you don't like it, we can always-" Jennie stumbled backwards, when Jisoo threw her arms around her.

"Why. are. You. so. Fucking. Perfect?" Jisoo accentuated every word with a kiss to Jennie's face, kissing every inch of her wife's face. When Jennie managed to smile, cheeky and full of love, Jisoo kissed that too. She peppered kisses along Jennie's brow, Jennie's cheeks, the corner of her mouth, her dimples as she smiled- Jisoo simply couldn't get enough.

"There's more, but-"

"Jennie!" Jisoo shrieked, cupping her cheeks. "Slow down! Let me be in awe of you. How are you so casual about this? You just...you...you..." Jisoo was at a loss for words. "You care so much. You make me so happy. I...I'm so happy I could marry you all over again."

Jennie grinned. "Remember, back in highschool, when you surprised me at my game by bringing my parents from another country?" Jennie emphasized. "Jisoo. No one had ever cared about me, like that. I was so happy, so ecstatic...I couldn't speak. I couldn't form words. I was touched. And I knew, in that moment, I wanted to marry you."

"You proposed." Jisoo sniffled a messy laugh, and Jennie's grin grew.

"I know. And I meant it. I knew I wanted to return the favor for the rest of my life. And now, I get to do that. For you, and our baby." Jennie offered her hand, and Jisoo took it, rubbing her thumb over Jennie's.

They began to climb the ramp, Jennie supportively watching Jisoo, as they made it into the actual treehouse itself.

Jisoo gasped, when she stepped inside. There were windows, opening up to the view of the entire city, and the rolling hills beneath them. There was a little table inside, with two little seats, and a couple of bags of takeout.

"You didn't." Jisoo gasped, clutching her heart.

"I thought...we bought this house for the little one. What better way to break it in than a little date night in the treehouse? Just so we can bug her with stories about it, when she's a teen." Jennie gave Jisoo a hopeful smile.

"Jennie." Jisoo turned to glance at her. "It's a challenge being with you. Do you know why?"

Jennie learned to reserve judgement until the end, nodding slowly.

"It's because I can't find the words to express how much I love you. How much you mean to me. How much I adore you and your ridiculously big heart, and your crazy ambitions, your thoughtfulness, the way you strive to give me the best..." Jisoo trailed off. "When I say it, it sounds so much weaker than I feel. I hope you know that. I hope you know how much I fucking love you, Jennie Rubyjane Kim-Kim."

"Well I fucking love you Jisoo Kim-Kim." Jennie held her arms out, and her wife wrapped around her tightly, the two enjoying the embrace.

Jennie licked her lips. "I thought...we could watch the sunset and have a little dinner date here...and stargaze. A little anniversary of our first date to celebrate the baby...and the house. Oh, and don't worry, Jisoo. The bathroom inside is working."

Jisoo grinned. "You really do think of everything." She turned to the chairs. "Sit. I want to have our date."

"Of course." Jennie played her dapper role and pulled Jisoo's chair for her, before sitting beside her. "I looked into non alcoholic wine, but-"

"You've done more than enough, you crazy, beautiful woman." Jisoo praised, and Jennie snorted.

"I hope Jena snorts like you do." Jisoo smirked.

"Stopppp." Jennie whined. "I've been picture perfect until just now. I was trying to be romantic and cool."

"To the world, maybe. To me, you're my beautiful, romantic, incredibly suave dork." Jisoo leaned forwards to tap her nose. "And don't you forget it. Don't get me wrong, I love a nice sweaty, post workout assertive Jennie, or even Louboutin wearing, gala attending, sexy Jennie, but I'm in love with Jennie when she snorts and pushes up her glasses and I get to kiss the curve of her dimples."

"I'll keep that in mind next time I'm trying to woo you." Jennie laughed, music to Jisoo's ears.

"You already wooed me. We're married." Jisoo flashed her ring, and then winced. "I think my fingers might...start swelling. Sorry. Not the most attractive image."

Jennie rolled her eyes, eating a bite of her food. "Like you said, we're married. I can handle your swollen fingers from pregnancy, Jisoo."

"Oh you can?" Jisoo smirked.

"Crude." Jennie sniffed, dabbing at the corner of her mouth with a napkin.

"Oh my god." Jisoo grinned. "Our baby is going to be so snooty."

"I'm not snooty." Jennie growled playfully, and Jisoo leaned over to steal a forkful from her dish.

"Do you ever think about that, though?" Jisoo asked, gazing off into the glimmering horizon.

"Think about what?" Jennie furrowed her brow.

"What she's going to be like?"

"All the time, Jisoo."

"I know, but...really. I can't stop daydreaming about her, and you. I feel...so lucky. Like, not only did I manage to land you, but...now we get a baby. An addition to the most beautiful and meaningful relationship I've ever had. Doesn't it feel like we won the lottery in this life, Jennie?"

Jennie took a moment to let the words sink in, glancing at Jisoo as the golden light fell on her brunette locks and her face, illuminating her to look angelic, her smile pearly white, her brown eyes twinkling.

"Yes." Jennie breathed. "It does."
