The week seemed to fly by and once again it was Friday. It seemed like in this town you could almost always guarantee someone was throwing a party on a Friday. It wasn't like their old town where parties seemed to occur maybe twice a year. One thing she had learned at these parties was that it always ended up extremely well or awful for her. She knew she did not want to be home when her mom came back from their old town so she had texted everyone she knew in this town to ask them where it was. Turns out the only party in town this Friday night was being hosted by the one and only kicker for the varsity football team, also known as Caleb. Fez didn't like the idea of the girls going to that house alone so he made another exception to his "no party" rule and decided he might be able to make more money off this one since it had the higher end of the food chain attending. School dragged on as normal and it was the first full day she had attended all week but the last thing she wanted was to be home. Her mom had never specified what time she would be arriving home just that it would be on Friday. Maddy, Kat and Cassie were happy to hear she was attending and Jules and Rue agreed that they would pregame at Fez's this time since he was the ultimate hookup. As she left school the walk home seemed longer and she couldn't help the feeling that maybe she should convince her friends that going to this party wasn't a good idea. As she walked she made her way up the driveway of the convenient store and knocked twice on the fridge that led to Ashtrays office. He nodded for her to come in. "Yo whattup Scarlett?" He asked. "Is there any way I could get three grams of weed please." She begged. "What's goin on? Fez not smoking you out?" When he asked this she sighed. "Of course he is but it's starting to make me feel guilty and I understand this is a business Ash." He laughed "that'll be 5 dollars" she raised her eye brows at him. "Fine. I'll charge you $10 but that's the highest I'll go. If Fez found out I was charging you at all he'd be pissed at me." She handed him the 10 and put the baggies into her purse. They talked for a while before they heard a knock on the door. Fez opened it and nodded towards Ashtray then looked at Scarlett. "We were just talking about you" Scarlett told him making Fez roll his eyes at the two. "Alright you two. I don't mean to break up the best friend gossip session but Scarlett we gotta stop by yo house on the way to my place." She nodded and hugged Ash goodbye saying they would finish their "gossip session" later. Ashtray laughed and the two exited the convenient store. As they drove back to Fez's Scarlett made a point to make sure none of the lights were on yet. That meant her mother still hadn't arrived and she was in the clear for now. Fez sat on her bed flipping through his phone as Scarlett put on her outfit and makeup. She decided on a black tube top and a red leather mini skirt that suited her assets extremely well. The outfit made her feel confident and as she ruffled her hair she smiled at herself at how far she had come. Two years ago she would have looked in at the girl in the mirror and probably make a snide comment about how the outfit was slutty and her hair was too messy but now she saw how amazing it made her feel to show off her body and embrace her looks. Scarlett applied a heavy coat of eyeliner and topped her lips with a red tinted lip gloss. She tossed her hair around to make it look messier and slipped on some black booties. When she walked back into the room Fez commented on her outfit but not in the way she had expected. "Damn Scar you look hot." He told her making her ruffle her hair up as a joke. They made their way to Fez's house and slowly after Jules and Rue arrived. Scarlett made herself a drink and sat down to smoke the joint her and Fez were passing back and forth. By the second joint they were all feeling like they had a successful pregame and began their walk with their cups in hand and the second joint being smoked mostly by Fez. When they entered the party it was already packed like usual and Jules and Rue made their way around to say hi to everyone. Scarlett and Fez started making small talk as they waited for Fez to start making his round to his customers. Once the girls got back Fez decided it was time to make his way around the party for business and Rue agreed she would come with him. Scarlett admired their friendship and when Rue had first talked about Fez it gave her the impression they were dating but she quickly realized Rue was more interested in someone else. Rue was like his little sister and Fez was very protective over her as well. When he told Scarlett about the night Rue almost OD for the second time from his perspective it really broke her heart. He was shattered by guilt over what had happened and she couldn't imagine how he felt now that it had happened the second time to her. Jules and Scarlett began laughing and dancing with one another before they were interrupted. "Hey cut the music!" A loud voice boomed. Scarlett looked over shocked to see Caleb so close in proximity to her. She wasn't sure if he just was ballsy or plain stupid for coming up to her after what had happened last time. It then became very clear to her that Fez was no where in sight which is what probably gave Caleb such a big boost in confidence. "What the fuck are you doing here?" He asked aggressively. At first Scarlett thought that he was talking to her but when she saw his line of sight Scarlett saw that he was starring directly at Jules. "What are you talking about? It's an open invite." Jules responded crossing her arms. A crowd had began to form around the three of them and everyone was zeroed in on what was going on. "Yeah well that invite doesn't apply to ******" he shouted laughing and chest bumping with the guy next to him. "The fuck did you just say?" Scarlett asked stepping in front of Jules. "You heard me bitch I don't want h*m in my house." The crowd around them audibly gasped and Scarlett could not fathom the transphobia exiting Caleb's mouth. "Oh no he didn't" she heard Maddy say to the left of her. "Listen you piece of shit you know damn well not to say disgusting things like that and you know that so why don't you shut the fuck up and apologize to her." Scarlett said moving in closer so they were inches from each other. "Oh yeah well if she's a girl why doesn't she show me her cu-" Suddenly before she registered what she was doing Scarlett mustered all her might into a punch she slammed directly into Caleb's face. Scarlett hadn't realized what she did till she heard a crunch and saw him stumble back. "You fucking bitch" he roared coming at her but again Scarlett was quick to knee him in between his legs before he could get any closer. Caleb collapsed onto the floor holding his junk with one hand and a bleeding nose with the other. Suddenly someone wrapped their arms around her waist picking her up and pulling her away from Caleb as she kicked in the air and through her arms up. "You want to say that again you fuckin pussy?" She shouted as she was carried out of the house. As she was put down she hastily turned around to see who it was that had kept her from taking another swing. "Woah woah rocky it's just me" Fez told her raising his arms in surrender. She looked at him, her chest rose and fell heavily as she started to catch her breath again. Jules and Rue ran outside, "Oh my god are you okay?" Jules exclaimed pointing down at Scarlett's bloody hand. Jules visibly had tears running down her face and Rue was gripping her hand hard. "You didn't have to do that for me Scarlett. That was insane." She said whipping the tears from her face. "Listen we love you and thank you so much for sticking up for her but I think I should get her home" Rue told her speaking about how visibly upset Jules was. Scarlett just nodded her head and hugged Jules tightly rubbing her back then giving Rue a hug. "I'll text you guys tomorrow okay? Let me know when you get back safe." Scarlett responded. As the girls left and walked down the street Fez grabbed Scarlett's wrist inspecting her hand. "That was really cool of you to stick up for Jules like that but please try to refrain from getting in fist fights when I'm not around... or you know refrain from them always?" Scarlett couldn't help but laugh at his reaction. She knew that it was stupid of her and honestly that was the first time she had ever punched someone. There were better ways of handling that situation but neither Fez nor Scarlett could deny she had a right to be angry.
