"we have to destroy the house," taeil announced casually as the group gathered around where he had positioned himself on the front steps
"i-i'm sorry what?" Jeno spluttered in disbelief
donghyuck stared at taeil with wide eyes "you want to destroy this mansion?" he asked wearily
taeil waved a finger in his direction "well you prime definitely didn't go down with that building, and he made it clear what he wanted from us"
donghyuck pondered, wondering what the man could have wanted. he never really informed him when they were playing hostage
as if answering donghyucks unspoken question mark spoke up "he wanted us as a gang to be eradicated, the end of moon and our presence so he could grow to become the biggest"
taeil nodded "and for that to happen we need to get rid of all of our traces of existence, the main one being this house"
jaemin who had been unusually silent shifted beside jeno "where will you go? this is your home after all"
taeil just chuckled "that's not a worry for us, we have several other houses we can make our residence"
now it was donghyucks turn to splutter "you have more houses like this?" he asked mark
mark grinned, meeting donghyuck's eyes and squeezing him tightly "of course love, you can't possibly expect such a group of people to exclusively have one place. i mean its a miracle lucas hasn't burnt this one down already"
lucas made a noise of offence and defiance from the side of them but uttered nothing back
"OI GET YOUR ASSES OUT, WE'RE MOVING" johnny yelled to the house
jungwoo popped his annoyed head out of one of the windows "again?" he asked irritatedly
johnny nodded and continued into the house to help the rest of the members move out
"now we'll be expecting to be out by tomorrow so pack up your valuables then we ride at dawn"
taeil giggled "always wanted to say that"
kun gazed at him adoringly and cooed at his boyfriend's cuteness
so they made their way inside, jaemin and renjun followed jeno to help him pack up and the members scurried around all ends of the vast house
it was midnight when donghyuck and mark had finished placing all of marks belongings in various cardboard boxes and bags
the furniture remained, the room bare and stripped of any decorations
donghyuck sighed in exhaustion and allowed himself to fall onto the bed, mark fondly glanced down at him and sat beside him pulling donghyucks head onto his lap
mark ran his hands through donghyucks soft silver locks making the younger hum in satisfaction
"d-did you mean what you said?" donghyuck spoke up in a small voice
mark froze, the met donghyucks eyes "i was scared hyuck, i thought us being together would hurt you and i would bring nothing but danger to you"
"and even if thats still true, i know now that i would do anything to protect you"
he stared intensely into donghyucks eyes, the younger stared openmouthed at mark, pushing himself up to be closer to mark
"you're mine?" he asked, holding mark's face gently in his hands
mark chuckled, sending tingles up donghyuck's spine
"i'm yours"
they moved forwards slowly, completing the distance between them with the connection of their lips
their lips moved in harmony, capturing each other. the pair pulled away breathless and yearning for each others touch
they let the desire overtake them before allowing themselves to rest
donghyuck gave mark a shy smile and pecked his nose before snuggling into his arms
mark watched donghyucks body rise and drop with each faint breath that escaped his pouted lips before letting himself be overcome with sleep

"do we really have to go to school" jeno grumbled, crossing his arms frustratedly
renjun smiled and pinched the frowny boy's cheeks, "i'm not having one-half of my boyfriends uneducated"
jeno failed at attempting to hide his smile and renjun giggle in delight of his victory while jaemin stared at the two proudly
donghyuck absentmindedly devoured his toast, still tired from the late night and the previous days ruckus. mark ruffled donghyucks hair and pecked his cheek as he sat down next to him "you ready"
donghyuck nodded, finishing off the rest of the slice
"ok kiddos, we need to get going" johnny announce, ten attached to his side
the teens trudged out of the house into their cars, mark narrowed his eyes when he saw the trio that had kidnapped donghyuck not too long ago. he wasn't immensely delighted at the fact that he had been outsmarted
the teens formed a group, waiting for their next instructions and watched lucas and taeyong place small metal cubes with wires wrapping around them around the house
johnny clapped his hands "school now" he instructed, pointing to the cars
jeno got into his car with jaemin, renjun and hendery into while donghyuck, mark, yangyang and xiaojun hopped into another
"how many cars do you guys have" donghyuck asked as he put on his seatbelt
"too many" mark replied
he glanced at the two chinese males in the back through the rearview mirror meeting eyes with yangyang who smiled brightly at mark catching him off guard
xiaojun nervously laughed "sorry again about the uh kidnapping thing," he said more to mark than donghyuck "but you can trust us"
mark nodded hesitantly, seeing the pleading smile on donghyuck's face
the rest of the drive consisted on donghyuck giggling at the nonsense yangyang was spouting from his mouth, boasting about the time he saved an elderly woman from drowning when he was only 6 while xiaojun shook his head in disbelief at what stories his friend could conjure
upon their arrival at school, there was a considerable crowd of students walking towards the direction of the auditorium so the boys decided to follow
they sat towards the back and talked amongst themselves until yuta walked onto the stage, motioning for the student's silence and attention
"now i know this may be unexpected for you guys but we received some unfortunate news this morning about one of our students here"
yuta paused to glance around the crowd, he spotted donghyuck and everyone else in the back and gave them a tight smile
"we have lost one of our students, mina rhee"
a low gasp was heard from the students collectively and whispering amongst them broke out
donghyuck stiffened at the mention of her name and out of the corner of his eye he saw renjun and jaemin do the same
"now regardless of what your relationship with her this is still a loss that affects many of us, we ask you to please refrain from speaking or posting about this situation on social media in respect to the families wishes"
donghyuck couldn't help but feel guilty, maybe he could have done something to save her. no matter how much he had despised her she didn't deserve such an early and cruel fate
mark watched as donghyuck visibly processed everything as yuta continued speaking. he took the youngers hands into his own, reassuring him about something that was unclear but donghyuck got the message
he squeezed marks hand and gave him a small smile. donghyuck glanced over to his friends who had joined hands with jeno, he muttered something to them that donghyuck couldn't make out but smiled to see as jaemin and renjun relaxed afterwards
the rest of the lessons before interval continued with the same sombre atmosphere, but it lightened after the much-needed break
chenle had attacked donghyuck with an ear-piercing squeal and tight hug, glad to see his hyung after his strange absences
jaemin was extra clingy to jisung, accusing it on his separation from the boy and he fed the confused younger grapes
the group ignored the strange looks and stares they got. it was completely unfamiliar for the students to see anyone with jeno and mark, and to see donghyuck so outgoing and full of life with different people other than his friends
the hoodie was nowhere to be seen
the new trio had joined them as well, earning quite a few lovestruck stares from students
mark felt his phone buzz and unlocked it to see a message from johnny
he tapped donghyucks shoulder "johnny says to go to the club after school"
donghyuck widened his eyes and smacked his forehead dramatically "oh my god, i forgot that i had a performance tonight"
he jumped up from where he was sitting and gave mark a hasty kiss on his head "gotta go, see you later" he said before rushing out of the cafeteria, almost crashing into a few students along the way
mark just watched him, confused but continued with his lunch
afterschool donghyuck was itching to get to the club as soon as possible, he practically jumped out of his seat as soon as they arrived and rushed inside
mark shook his head at the boys strange behaviour

the sun had set and nightlife overtook the city, couples laughing and conversing walked down the streets, entering and exiting their destinations of entertainment
mark sat bored int the corner of the full club. ignoring jeno's attempt at cracking a joke
he almost missed johnny's introduction to "haechan" while he was spacing out
he sat up in his seat, eagerly looking for donghyuck on the stage
he saw the boy sitting, his silver locks were now vivid red and emitting an almost hellish glow from the light brightly shining on the boy
marks eyes scanned the boy's body. donghyuck a simple black tee shirt layered with a loose open dress shirt, one side of it tucked into the waistband of his tight black jeans that fit him perfectly
mark felt his eyes linger on the boy's legs before flicking them back up to his face as he began to sing
mark just watched in disbelief as donghyuck sang, not really processing the first few words that left the boys mouth
but every touch is ooh la la la
it's true la la la
ooh i should be runnin'
ooh you keep me coming for ya
jeno grinned at his friends face, leaning to whisper in his ear "not gay huh? whipped"
mark swatted jeno's face away absentmindedly with his hand and continued to stare at the boy
another voice started singing and donghyuck grinned, smiling as ten sat beside him on his own stool and watched as he sang his own part
everyone's attention shifted to ten but mark kept his eyes on donghyuck
even if he wasn't singing he still looked incredible, his sunkissed skin practically glowing under the light. he noted how his fingers tapped along with the beat and his feet, not quite reaching the floor swung
donghyuck opened his mouth to sing again and the combination of his voice with tens left mark in shambled, he swore he felt himself crumble at the marvellous sound
jaemin let out a loud cheer for his friend at the audience clapped, loving the sound causing the tow males on the stage to grin
throughout the performance, mark felt himself experience a rollercoaster ride of emotions
donghyuck met his eyes during the last verse and kept them on him

the music gradually faded away with tens voice and mark snapped out of his daze, blinking harshly before he locked eyes with donghyuck again
the younger gave him a small smile causing mark to break out into a stupid grin
mark was scared before, but now he was certain
donghyuck made him feel so much all at once and could make him do things he would never have imagined
when he looked at him it was as if every ounce of breath was taken from his lungs floating into the air like smoke
every time he kissed him it felt like the world stopped, just leaving the two of them to wander the earth together
mark loved lee donghyuck and he was sure of it
