After that night Nick and I spent the nights at each other's apartment. Brandon was right about him, Nick was a gentleman and he hated it. Brandon would voice his complaints about Nick every once in a while, but I wasn't listening to it. To be honest I was in Nick land and the people around me seem to fade into the background. Nick worked long hours at his office and I had night shifts at his club, so when we did see each other it would usually be when he had to socialize. He didn't like that so he suggested we also spent the night together. When I had nightshifts I went over to his apartment and slipped into his bed, he'd wrap his arm around me and pull me close. A few hours later he'd get up for work, letting me stay in his apartment. I would lie if I say it didn't freak me out the first time. It was odd at first but now weeks later I was accustomed to our schedule. If Nick wasn't sleeping beside me I couldn't have a good night sleep. I was so into him it wasn't healthy. Evan told me once that he thought I was Nick's obsession. I couldn't accept the fact that Nick was feeling the same for me. A guy like that couldn't be obsessed over a girl like me. He had better. I never voiced that out loud, if I did Nick would probably get furious with me. Things between us were good right now, I didn't want to cause our first argument. If I could I wanted to say a bit longer in Nick land where it was always sunny and unicorns were flying around. That was the good life.

Rolling to my side a smile spread across my face when I heard Nick moving around the room. He was getting ready for work while I had come in a few hours ago after a night shift. He noticed me being awake in bed and stepped to me, running a hand through his messed up wet hair before he leaned in and pressed a kiss to my head.

"It never gets tired seeing you in my bed." He spoke in a low voice, "Go back to sleep."

"Hm."

"I'll be back in a few hours, we'll have breakfast together."

I smiled, "Lunch for you."

He chuckled, "Yeah, see you later."

"Later," I whispered, rolling back to my side, smiling when I felt his lips brush against my temple.

I went back to sleep while Nick probably had a meeting to attend. I didn't sleep long, I woke around ten and started getting ready. After a shower, I blow dried my hair and did my make-up. I kept it simple, opting for eyeliner, mascara and a wine colored lipstick. Stepping out of the bedroom I nearly ran into Nick, gasping out loud. I didn't hear him come in nor did I hear his footsteps coming up to me. Pressing a hand against my chest, I took a deep breath to calm my nerves down. He placed his hands on my shoulders, gently rubbing my arms to help me calm down.

"I didn't mean to scare you."

"I didn't hear you come in."

He smiled, "I didn't want to wake you." He leaned in and kissed me full on the lips, making me whine in the kiss, "What?" He asked, pulling away looking confused, "Did I hurt you?"

Reaching out to him I wiped away the dark blotches around his mouth because of my lipstick, "No, of course, you didn't. But now my lipstick is ruined and your lips are stained."

"Don't care." And to prove that he grabbed me by the back of my head he kissed me again, long and wet, "I'm always going to kiss you so you either stop wearing lipsticks or we both deal with the aftermath."

Laughing I pushed him against his chest and walked around him, heading to the living room, "Are we eating out-" I stopped myself mid-question and stared at the plates on the coffee table, "You bought lunch-"

"I prepared lunch." Nick announced casually, walking past me to take a seat on the couch, "You were in the shower, then blow-dried your hair so you probably didn't hear me."

He was amazing, he was freaking amazing. This being one of the many reasons I loved being in Nick land. Before he could reach for his plate I grabbed onto his wrist, pushed him back against the couch and got on top of him. He didn't see it coming and I took advantage of his surprise by pressing my body against his and kissing the life out of him. His hands gripped my hips, and he pulled me closer to him. His hips pressing firmly against mine. I could feel his erection press against my core and let out a soft whimper. Nick told me more than once he wanted to wait until we took a step further, but I honestly couldn't wait any longer. The wait was making me impatient, driving me insane. I needed to have him, I needed to have him right now.

"You're torturing me," I announced once Nick pulled away from me.

I gripped his hair tightly in my hands, causing a grunt to leave his lips. His teasing look warning me, telling me to run for the hills. I didn't though. If I needed to endure the torture he put me through he could handle a little pain. Nick tightened his grip on my hips, his lips brushing against my neck. He left a soft kiss, a kiss that was barely there, yet that soft, little kiss burned my skin. His hands wandered up, brushing over my stomach which made my breathing hitch in my throat. He slowly pushed my t-shirt up, his fingers brushing against my heated skin. His eyes wandered down to my pants, the top of my lace panties showing. He ran his fingers down my stomach, brushing them against the top of my panties and moving to my thighs. Without warning Nick moved us, my back hit the couch while he hovered above me, his eyes burning into mine.

"I'll make it up to you." He whispered and leaned in to kiss me. He didn't give me time to respond and moved down my body, leaving a trail of kisses along the way, "You'll be satisfied once I'm done with you." He promised me.

He unbuttoned my jeans, the sound if the zipper being pulled down echoing through the room. I thought he'd torture me some more, he seemed to enjoy the reaction he got out of me. Pushing my pants down my thighs my breathing stopped completely when his lips pressed against me, his hot breath against my inner thighs driving me insane. When I was about to yell at him he pushed my panties aside and gave me what I wanted. Multiple orgasms till I could even move from the couch.

***

After the multiple orgasms and lunch, Nick drove me to the library where I was going to work at school. He wasn't pleased with my decision, but I couldn't focus with him around. With me not being around him, he could also go back to work so he didn't complain about it much. My eyes were focused on his hands, he was driving me personally to the library, Miles being excused for the day. When I looked at his hands I couldn't help but remember the pleasure he gave me. When I let my eyes wander to his face I couldn't help but blush to see the arrogant smirk plastered on his face.

"You were staring." He told me quietly.

"I was not."

My eyes were still focused on his face, even if I couldn't get rid of my blush. I just couldn't look away from him.

"You're still staring." He brushed a hand over his clean-shaven face, "Did I miss a spot this morning?" He asked, though he probably knew the answer already.

My jaw was actually hurting because of the permanent grin on my face as I answered him, "You're perfect."

That one word had so much more meaning to it, and when Nick placed his hand on my knee and squeezed it, I knew that he also figured out what I was talking about.

"When you're ready to go to the club you can call Miles, he'll give you a ride."

I took hold of his hand on my knee, "I can take the bus-"

"I know you're an independent woman and all, but let Miles just drop you off at the club, okay?"

I was about to protest, ready to start our first argument when I realized why he didn't want me to go alone to the club at night. It was the reason why we met in the first place. It made me wonder if I wasn't attacked that night if we would be where we were right now. He'd probably still be dating models, actresses and annoying women who thought they were better than the rest of the world. If my bad luck that night made sure I met the guy who was destined for me I didn't mind what happened to me that much anymore. At least I wanted to think like that, yet anxiety still seeped into me. Nick tightened his hold on my hand, pulling me away from my dark thoughts.

"Did you check your account recently? The money should have been transferred to your account weeks ago."

The money was transferred to my account, it didn't stay there long though. I paid a part of my student loan off with that money. It being immediately used to pay off part of my loan was a good way to pretend that night hadn't happened in the first place. Yet today it was coming back at me in full force. Thankfully Nick was right beside me. He sensed my uneasiness and remained silent, giving me time to get over it.

Nick parked the car near the library and turned to look at me, his knuckles softly brushing against my cheek.

"See you tonight."

I leaned into his soft touch, "Yeah."

"Don't forget about Miles." He warned me.

"I won't."

"Promise me." He pushed.

"Nick, I'm not a child, please don't talk to me like I am one."

"You're not a child, but you are stubborn and sometimes you want to do the opposite of what I say, just to annoy me."

I wanted to tell him that he was wrong, but that would mean I was lying to him. There were times I liked to do the exact opposite of what Nick asked of me. That was only because he was usually so bossy, he needed to be shown that he couldn't be that way with his girlfriend. But there were times that he was right and I had to swallow my pride and agree with his suggestion. This was one of those times. It was a lot safer if Miles gave me a ride. It also eased all of our minds.

"I promise I will give Miles a call when I'm ready to head to the club," I promised him.

Nick seemed very pleased with that, he cupped my face in his hands and leaned in. He brushed his lips against mine, his taste so familiar and addictive. If he didn't pull away I'd crawl in his lap right then and there, not caring people were stopping and staring at the car. It was a very nice car and a few women were probably also appreciating the sight of the man who drove that car.

Giving him a last peck I undid my seatbelt, "Later."

He watched me leave the car, mouthing the name Miles at me when he watched me disappear into the building.

***

Getting ready for my shift I was about to push my locker door closed when Brandon decided to scare the hell out of me by suddenly appearing next to me, shoving his phone in my face. Whatever he wanted to show me was a blur because his phone was right up my face. Pushing his arm away I closed my locker and turned to look at him.

"What?"

"You're all over the internet." He told me, sounding very annoyed by it, "I thought you told Evan you that's the last thing you wanted." He pocketed his phone, "It's only going to get worse, you know."

When I told Evan that I had no idea where Nick and I were standing, but now, weeks later I knew exactly where we were standing. The idea of pictures of us all splattered across the internet and Social Media didn't scare me at all. That would probably come back and bite me in the behind later, but now, there was no freaking out at all.

"I know." The firmness in my voice made Brandon cock an eyebrow at me, "I'll be fine."

"How do you know that?" He demanded to know, "The paparazzi can be brutal-"

"Don't worry, I'll be fine. Nick will take care of it."

I noticed the face Brandon made but chose to ignore it. Nothing he'd say or do would make the feeling I had fade. It really must be the multiple orgasms Nick gave me that morning, or afternoon really.

"Let's get to work, it's pretty crowded out there."

He huffed, but still followed me. I headed straight for the bar and took the shift over from the day crew. I looked at Brandon from the corner of my eye and saw him flirting with a brunette. I guess he got over his issues pretty fast. Smiling, I went to take the order of the big group of already tipsy women.

"Your friend just got himself a date with a model."

I looked up recognizing that voice. Rolling my eyes I poured Evan his drink, "You're suddenly obsessed with this place, aren't you?" I asked as I shoved him his glass of whiskey.

"This is Nick's club-" Evan gestured around him, "It's more efficient for me to meet up with my business associates here."

"You've made some sort of deal with Nick, didn't you?"

A devious smirk spread across his handsome face, "Something like that." He raised his glass at me, "Nick is meeting us in a few, I'll see you upstairs."

I wanted to question Evan a bit more, last time he appeared so suddenly at the club he had been up to no good. In the end, his meddling did cause Nick and I to speed up the process of dating, but his planning still did a number on us all. Evan was someone who you needed to watch out for. Peeking at Brandon who was still chatting away with his brunette, I couldn't help but observe her. Her brown hair cascaded down her back in soft waves, her thick, long lashes blinking away with Brandon who charmingly smiled down at her. She reached out to him, placing her hand on his arm. That model was definitely into him, soaking up everything he was saying like a good little sponge. Looking away from the intimate moment Brandon had I focused back on my work. Evan mentioned seeing me later in the VIP room so I figured they wanted me up there later tonight. Brandon would be on his own again, Victor would probably help him because he wouldn't say no to Nick. No one could. I was putting away clean glasses when I heard that familiar voice calling out to me.

"Emily."

Not being able to help it I smiled hearing him call out to me, "Nick."

Looking up I met his piercing blue eyes. What caught me off guard wasn't his intense stare though, it was his massive grin that did it. He looked happy seeing me like I was the ray of sunshine in his life.

"Evan is here with some business associates, I'd like you to accompany me, as my date."

Evan already informed me, but smart comments wouldn't leave my lips. That was saying something since I had a broken brain to mouth filter. Instead, the butterflies in my stomach were going crazy just because I was staring at the man who had been on my mind the entire day. Victor walked up to the bar on cue, taking my shift over from me. Nick held his hand out to me, nodding at his outstretched hand. He wanted me to take it. Without hesitation I reached for his hand, letting him lead me around the bar and then lead me to the VIP room. Nick tightened his grip on my hand, letting out a tired sigh.

"I'm sorry about the photos, Em."

"I'm okay."

His shocked expression told me he figured I'd throw a tantrum, "You are?"

"Evan already warned me." I explained to him, "I knew what I was getting myself into when I started falling for you."

Nick was smirking when he told me, "That idiot again, he sure loves to meddle in my relationship."

"He means well...I think."

"Sure, one of these days I'll probably strangle that bastard with my bare hands."

Their friendship was complicated, I think the both of them cared about each other. They just had a hard time expressing that. Rivals who were besties, of course, it was complicated. We headed to Evan's table, I momentarily stopped in my tracks when my eyes met Giselle's. The cold-hearted woman who seemed very interested in her boss was also part of Evan's small gathering. It totally slipped my mind that she was still part of Nick's life. She was his personal assistant and she followed him everywhere. Nick bumped his arm against mine, snapping me out of my thoughts.

"Something wrong?"

I wanted to spill everything, but one: it was probably not a good idea to do that right in front of Giselle, two: I wasn't sure if Nick would believe me. His assistant disliked me since day one, but he could easily brush it off as me being jealous. Instead, I pushed all my feelings concerning Giselle into a box and looked up at Nick, flashing him a smile.

"No, I'm fine."

Taking a seat at Evan's table, I made sure I sat right beside the evil mastermind. Evan could be annoying at times, but he was also the person who always kept the mood light. While Giselle was also present I needed someone like that beside me to distract me. When I met Nick's gaze I immediately noticed his displeased look. He wasn't happy that I eagerly took a seat next to his friend. Thankfully he kept his words to himself. The last thing we needed was causing a scene in front of people who would get off on it.

"I'm very glad you could join us, Emily." Evan poured me a glass of red wine, "So how did your date go the other day."

Something told me he was already informed, Nick might complain about his friend, but he also shared a lot with him. I'm sure he already shared with Evan how everything went so far. When I looked at Evan I noticed how he shot a glance at Giselle, something told me there was more to his question. Was he also aware of Giselle's unhealthy obsession with Nick? Was he trying to wind her up? It was good to know Evan was on my side. It made me a bitch, but I wanted Giselle to choke on her jealousy.

"I'm not sure if I should share that with you." I sipped my wine.

Evan smirked, "Nick already told me everything."

"I didn't tell you anything. All I told you was I had to leave because I had an important matter to attend to-"

"That would be Emily." Evan gestured to me, "When your look and tone changed I knew exactly what matters you were talking about. And seeing you two together now I can only assume you two had a wonderful time. Don't you agree, Emily?"

"It was amazing," I told him, swirling the red rich liquid around the glass.

Nick grabbed the vodka soda the waiter handed him and narrowed his eyes at Evan. I had seen that determined look in Nick's eyes before. He had stalked toward me and more or less demanded of me to leave with him. It was THAT look.

"Shouldn't you focus on your party instead of my girlfriend?"

It was odd hearing Nick refer to me as his girlfriend in public, but that was who I am to him. I was indeed his girlfriend, we had been seeing each other for weeks now. Sleeping in each other's bed, being in each other's life. Just hearing him say it out loud in front of people who were important in his professional life caught me off guard.

"Your girlfriend?" Evan and Giselle asked in unison.

"Stop being so surprised," Nick grunted at Evan, completely ignoring Giselle who was genuinely surprised. I could Evan was the one who was acting here.

Nick turned to look at me, "We're leaving when you finish your drink." He told me.

"You can't leave!" Giselle sounded shrill, "You promised Anna five minutes of your time, remember?"

Nick scrunched his nose, "Is she here yet?"

"She is always fashionably late, Nick." Giselle chuckled, running her fingers over Nick's arm as if to demonstrate that she could touch him as well, "But you know that..." The tone she used didn't leave anything to the imagination.

Nick had dated that woman before and Giselle was throwing that in my face.

"If she is not here in ten minutes we're leaving." He tilted his head, his look as icy cold as usual.

Evan frowned, "I guess she heard you." He nodded to the scarlet beauty in a very provocative black dress.

I glanced at Giselle who looked very pleased with herself. What I didn't get was why she was pushing that tall scarlet woman who looked a bit too desperate onto Nick while she herself clearly had an obsession with MY boyfriend. I straightened my shoulders and smiled back at Giselle, something she didn't expect.

"Why don't you have a talk with her Nick, so we can leave as soon as possible." I lowered my voice a little, "I really need to spend some time alone with you."

I knew both Evan and Giselle heard me because I still spoke loud enough for them to hear.

"I'd say run and finish that conversation quickly because your lady needs you..."The way Evan wiggled his eyebrows really didn't leave anything to your imagination.

Nick got up, turning on his heels. He had a small smirk spread across his handsome face while he approached his ex. He kept his distance from her, and actually looked like his isolated cold self again. What caught my attention was not the fact that the scarlet woman tried to feel up my boyfriend, but was the fact that Giselle was getting up from her seat. I got up as well and grabbed her arm, making sure she didn't leave before I told her how I felt about her disgusting behavior. I didn't give a damn that Evan was right beside me. I was sure he had my back no matter what. He rooted for me and Nick to be together, I had no idea why, but he did.

"What the hell are you trying to do?" I kept my voice low so the other people around us didn't hear our conversation. I released her arm and folded my arms across my chest, awaiting her answer.

"I have no idea what you're talking about."

"You do know what I'm talking about. You rather have Nick date that woman instead of me, right?"

She flicked her hair back, "That's exactly how it is." The pretense was gone and the real Giselle finally showed her face, "I'd rather have him fuck a desperate wannabe than you."

"Because you know she's the kind of girl Nick would settle down with." Evan interrupted, getting up as well, "You better leave before I tell Nick about your choice of words...I think he'd like to know his assistant is kind of a bitch."

"Kind of?" I asked, smiling when Evan chuckled.

Giselle stalked off, the sound of her heels sounding louder than ever before. Evan sat back down again, laughing loudly which caused everyone around us to turn their heads, but we didn't care. Evan had my back just like I expected of him.

"You're helping me." I fall back down in my seat, "Aren't you supposed to be Nick's rival who likes to mess with him for fun?"

"Nick is my Brandon, Emily."

I wanted to laugh at that, but I didn't. I understood their relationship. Brandon could annoy the hell out of me, but at the end of the day, I'd still walk through fire for him. We both looked up when Nick stood before us, looking even angrier than before. Whatever that woman had to say did not help with Nick's mood one bit. I got up whispering a goodbye to Evan. Nick grabbed my hand in his, lacing our fingers together and walked me out of the VIP room. The club was still crowded, but everyone moved when Nick walked by. Giving us room to leave. I waved both Brandon and Victor goodbye.

"Why are you so upset?" I asked the moment we were safely in the car and Miles was driving us home since Nick had a drink.

"I don't like it when people threaten me, especially people like her."

"What is she like?"

He leaned back in his seat and met my gaze, "I don't want to talk about that awful woman. If she dares to show her face again, Mike will make sure she won't be spending so much money on her manicure ever again."

Miles grunted, glancing at us through the rearview mirror, "Nick, the apartment is surrounded." He managed to maneuver the car through the crowd and headed straight for the garage, "I'll ask Alex to pick your car up."

Nick got out the car first and walked around, holding the door open for me. He didn't look like his usual calm self. The crowd outside was getting to him, I guess he didn't expect it to blow up this fast. My guess was that Giselle and the scarlet-haired bitch had something to do with this, but I kept my words to myself.

"I'm sorry, Em." Nick placed his hand on my lower back, guiding me through the garage, "I didn't think it would escalate like this."

"It doesn't matter."

We stepped into the elevator, "It does matter." He sounded defeated, "I don't want to mess this up-"

I pushed him against the cold metal wall and kissed him, hard and passionately. He seemed stunned for a second, not even kissing me back because he did not expect that. It made me feel powerful, knowing I could make this coldhearted billionaire shut up within a split second. Nick finally kissed me back, slipping his tongue into my mouth. I ran my fingers through his hair, massaging his scalp, pressing my body fully against his. He cupped my face in his hands, his concerns about the paparazzi long forgotten. Smirking I pulled away, knowing I had reached my goal. I distracted Nick long enough to calm him down a little.

"You don't play fair." He breathed, running a hand through his messed up hair.

I fixed my clothing, stepping out of the elevator with my head held high when we reached his floor. Nick quickly caught up with me, opening the door to his apartment. I kicked my shoes off and headed straight for the couch. Nick placed his jacket and tie over the one-seat and sat down next to me, brushing my hair behind my ear.

"I don't understand how this could have gone out so fast."

"You shouldn't trust Giselle."

He raised an eyebrow at my comment. I blurted something sensitive out once again. When I needed my ability to say whatever was on my mind it didn't help me at all, when I didn't need it, it put me in an embarrassing position. It was annoying having no brain to mouth filter.

"So Evan was right."

Now I was the one who was confused here, "What is he right about?"

"He texted me about Giselle's behavior. Did she threaten you?"

I knew it was better to tell Nick everything. If there were no secrets between us, we might actually work. I needed us to work since he was the first guy I actually fell in love with.

"She hates me because she is jealous. She rather has that awful woman fuck you...Her words, not mine...Than us being in a relationship."

"She said that?" I could see the anger rising up in Nick's eyes.

"She has been a bitch to me since the day we met." I leaned closer, "I don't like her, but I was afraid of telling you. Because I also don't want to mess this up."

Nick's lips curled up, "We're really two idiots, aren't we?" He kissed my temple, "We went too fast in a short period of time. We need to actually start talking to each other."

"That why you didn't want to have sex with me, remember?" I brushed a finger up and down his chest and giggled when he pushed me back against the couch and hovered over me.

"I still think that's the right thing to do, I'll make us some coffee and we'll actually have a real conversation."

I watched him head to the kitchen, grinning like an idiot because I apparently had the best boyfriend on the planet. If Giselle would mess this up I'd punch her in the face.
