After lunch with Sky, Pea called me and told me to go down to the Wyrm to meet him and the boys. I took the scenic route to the bar just taking in the sights of my home town a lot changed since I was locked up. After a while I pulled up to the bar parked my bike and made my way inside I seen the boys at our usual pool table, how I missed the simple shit like this. Spending an afternoon with my brother and best friends, having a few drinks, listening to music, joking around and playing pool.
"So how did things go with Sky?" Kash asked as he handed me a beer "yeah hi to you too Kash." I responded taking the beer from his hand "but it actually went pretty good, she seems like a great girl." They all smiled "I knew you guys would hit it off. I told you she was a good girl" Pea said as he sat next to me. "Yeah we actually had a lot in common same taste in music and movies. She loves fashion and cars. Yeah she comes from money but she's not a snotty bitch so I can appreciate that." I said as I grabbed myself a pool cue.
"So did you tell her about mini Dream?" Fangs asked "yeah she was actually cool about it I thought she was gonna dash for the door. But she said it didn't matter to her."
"Well that's good it just shows she's mature, something you definitely deserve." Don't get me wrong I have my moments where I miss Toni but I could never look at her the same. Being in a whole ass new relationship with some other bitch while we were still together. She didn't even have the guts to write me or even tell me over the phone that she didn't want to be with me anymore.
Even though I wasn't around I felt like I deserved at least that. Anytime I'm in a relationship that's one of my biggest requests if you aren't feeling me or the relationship anymore fucking tell me. I'd respect you more for being mature enough to end it amicably rather then step out behind my back and be shady. I don't believe in cheating never have and I never will. Toni was my life for years it's going to be hard to just cut her off completely. But she not only betrayed me and my trust, she betrayed my family the Serpents.
"So did you kiss her?" Kash asked "not full on make out but we kissed before we left." I said as I took a sip of my beer. "But get this Veronica was our waitress. She made me give her my number and she invited me to her speakeasy tomorrow night." All three of their heads darted in my direction "Veronica? As in Veronica Lodge invited you to Le Bonne Nuit?" Fangs said wide eyed.
"Yes Fogarty unless there's two Veronica's in this town that's exactly who I'm talking about dipshit." Sometimes Fangs was the biggest idiot I knew hell let's be real he is the biggest idiot I know. "So are you going to go?" Pea asked "I told her yeah. Why are you guys freaking out about it?" Fangs walked around the pool table and sat right in front of me. "We're talking about Veronica Lodge, she comes from one of the richest families around here. Her dad was supposedly in the mob, he's a drug dealer and just flat out fucking evil. You need to be careful with her."
"So what does her dad have to do with her? You can't blame her for the shortcomings of her dad." I said a little annoyed if that's how people seen Veronica like she was bad news just imagine how people looked at Pea and I we were kids of drug addict, alcoholic, abusive parents. And who were thrown into the system at a young age. "All I'm saying is just be careful with her D." Fangs added as he folded his arms across his chest.
"I appreciate you looking out for me Fangs but I'm a big girl I know how to handle myself believe me I've done it my whole fucking life. And besides she doesn't even seem interested in me like that maybe she was just being nice to invite me to check out her place. That's all I'm doing is being friendly." I finished my beer I don't even know why I drink that shit it's fucking gross. Just then Jughead walked in "what's up guys" he said as he approached us. "What's up Jug" I replied.
"Look can we all come up to the office I want to run something by you guys." We all nodded and followed him up to his office "so what's going on Jug?" Pea asked as he sat next to me on the couch. "I got an opportunity for some big cash that came my way. I know you guys could all use the money so I wanted to ask you guys before I asked any of the other Serpents." I was down to do almost anything to get my hands on a good amount of money. We needed to get out of the trailer and that's what was my motivation.
"What is it exactly?" Jug sat on his desk "running some exotic cars up to Bridge Point for a buyer." That didn't sound bad at all but I know it's not that easy "and what's going on with the cars Jug that sounds sus to me." I say looking at Jug and then my brother Pea looks at me and gives me the look like he agrees with me. "They're stolen inside are super rare parts and there's drugs inside hidden in the seats and door panels." Bingo I was fucking right. The boys look at me like they want me to speak up typical..
"Jug are you fucking nuts bro? Bridge Point is like three hours away you want us to run stolen exotic cars filled with drugs three hours away and hope we don't get fucking pulled over along the way. You know cops run crazy along those highways. And if we even tried going the long way that will take us like five hours and that runs even higher risk of getting caught." Shit I know I'm desperate for the cash but my ass just got out of jail. A grand theft auto and drug trafficking charges isn't going to look good on me.
The boys looked at me again "I can't make that decision for you guys you have to think about this one long and hard. I don't know if I can put myself in that situation right now this is barley my second day out and I want to enjoy freedom a little longer. And Jug what the fuck are you thinking you know we don't do anything involving drugs!" People might think a biker gang and drugs go hand in hand. But that's one thing the Serpents did their best to stay away from. And coming from the background I came from I didn't fuck with drugs whatsoever.
"I know this isn't what we normally do but the customer is willing to pay $30,000 each or more. Those cars are worth an easy $180,000 plus each. That's not even including the drugs inside. This could be life changing money you pick up and drop off you won't deal with anyone face to face. Just think about it he's giving a week for an answer. I'll let you guys talk about it and then you let me know your decision."
This was fucking crazy shit I'd rather crack a few heads then put myself in this situation. But if Pea was in I'm in too there's no way I would let my twin brother put himself at risk and me just stand aside and let it happen. We agreed on letting him know later in the week. I wanted to do some shopping so Pea, Kash and I were going to the mall while Fangs hung around the bar. "So what are you guys thinking?" Kash asked as we drove to the mall. "I don't know man it's a lot of money but the risk is way too fucking high. My sister just got home I have to think smart because I know whatever my decision is Dream is going to go along with it." Pea said as he drove.
"I understand that one hundred percent whatever you guys do I'll do." Kash answered, I've always been the one to look at the logistical side of things whenever we do runs I want to know the ins and outs of everything just in case. "You know they always have that exotic car run every year that runs through here. It's soon if it's in our time window we could get from here to Bridge Port fucking easily with all those cars. Cops wouldn't even bat an eyelash that way. I'll look into it later today." Pea and Kash both looked back at me "holy shit Dream you're a fucking genius. That could work perfectly." Kash said with a smile.
"It's still a fucking risk if we're talking almost $200,000 cars plus drugs I want more than $30,000 we could be delivering millions to whoever that person is." Pea said as we finally pulled up to the mall. "You're right we negotiate prices no one else around here is going to do shit like that for someone. If we give them a price and they don't agree we don't even think twice about stepping away from this. But I don't want to think about that shit right now let's just continue with our good day." They both agreed with me and we went on our way to start shopping.
We stopped at a few of my favorite stores I got me some much needed things to add to my wardrobe. The day passes by quick but I enjoyed myself quality time with my brother and best friend it couldn't get better. With all of our shopping we worked up an appetite we decided to stop and have some dinner at a Mexican restaurant. One thing you should know about me is I love to eat. Now that I was free I planned on catching up on all the food I've missed out on for the last 2 years.
"Who's that?" Pea asked as he tried looking at my phone. "It was Veronica she was letting me know the rundown for tomorrow. She put your name on the list plus two plus ones." Pea and Kash looked at each other "so who's your plus one?" Kash asked "obviously you idiot, Pea can take Fangs." A smile spread across Kash's face "good thing we went shopping today I had a feeling we would get an invite. And I see how people walk out of that place." I was a little nervous I'm positive Le Bonne Nuit made the Wyrm look like a literal shit hole. Plus Northside kids weren't my cup of tequila so of course I needed to have my boys at my side.
I was excited to see Veronica again, she's been on my mind all day. There was something about her I craved to get to know more even if she didn't see me on a romantic level I felt the need to try and at least be her friend. Kash was right I had a feeling the dress code would be somewhat fancy so I got two outfits to choose from. During dinner we just talked and laughed I really got to get caught up with everything in Kash's life while I was away. I was surprised when I found out he was dating Chanel but not too surprised I seen them all over each other at the party.
She was a beautiful girl but if she dared to try and hurt Kash I would literally kill her. Kash was like my second brother and everyone should know you don't mess with my boys. "So have you thought about Jug's offer anymore I know it's only been a few hours?" Pea asked. "I don't know Pea you said it yourself that's one hell of a risk. But I seriously think we can pull it off, we'd be stupid to let the job go to someone else. That could get us all out of that little ass trailer into an actual home, get us a new car or bike and still have money left over."
"So then I'll let Jug know we're in?" Kash asked I sighed "yeah I'm in" Pea agreed with me. God I hope I didn't just screw myself over with this one. After dinner we decided just to go back home and watch a few movies before calling it a day. I was excited for tomorrow. "So who are you more into? Skylar or Veronica?" Fangs asked as we sat on the couch watching Dawn of The Dead.
"I don't know Fogarty I literally just met them both. I don't even really know Veronica we talked for like 2 minutes." Pea looked at me "yeah you might have just met them but there has to be an attraction to one of them so who is it?" Most girls would probably never have conversations with their brothers like I have with Pea. There's probably nothing we haven't all talked about before "I'm attracted to them both. Sky is a great girl, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't want to get to know Veronica on a deeper level. Only time will tell. I'm only 18 I don't know if I wanna be tied down to anyone right now. Especially after all the Toni bullshit that's still a fresh wound for me."
