I was sinking deeper into the darkness, the water turned from transparent to the darkest shades of blue-inky blue.

It turned into black as I kept drowning. My voice converted into mute bubbles, as I whispered the last words.

"Mom!"

Somewhere, far far away, I heard the faint voice of my mother calling for help.

"Lily! Somebody help."

I dropped my pink shoe in the river and as I tried to pick it up, I drifted away with the current.

It was not an ordinary shoe, but the last present I received from my father on my 10th birthday three months ago, just two days before his death.

I had seen a lot for my age, more than the other kids at my school. I have lost three loved ones in a row, my twin brothers before my dad.

Mother told me that all of them went to heavens and became angels.

May be, I was ready to be one too.

I gave up on my hope to survive now, and closed my eyes accepting my defeat, feeling the last breathe leaving from my lungs escaping through my trembling lips.

I heard music- a tune of a flute. I could feel my soul floating out of my body, following the note, as the music grew louder and louder.

It wasn't the first time; I had heard it before too.

I had heard this tune many times, strangely right before the death of a family member.

My fate was confirmed now- Death.

But suddenly, the music stopped and a queer silence took control of the situation.

I felt someone's hands around me, pulling me up to the surface of water.

I felt light as a feather, waiting for the water to lift me up.

Anything could be forgotten, but not that tune that always played as a warning sign of death.

Death,

The biggest reality that no one can deny.

Whether you die rich, or die poor. Whether you die young, or die old.

The blind ended street of life always end on death.
