I couldn't move fast enough.

Ducking, I quickly conceal myself behind the bush, praying he didn't actually see me. There's a moment of silence, as I close my eyes, waiting for him to investigate and see me. Surely then, we would have never been able to meet in the future without that moment of recognition. Everything would be ruined.

After a few moments, I risk a glance up. Everyone is gone. Time has disappeared, hopefully back inside his home, and so has Thought and the girl. I'm relieved, however, curious as to why they vanished so quickly.

I wait a while longer before I get to my feet. I'm not planning on messing around with this any longer. As much as I don't want to get back, it might be the only place for me.

Even if it kills me inside to have to face Time again.

Taking my time walking back to the cottage, I enjoy the feeling of the fresh night air brushing against me, looking into the sky that isn't polluted with light. I'm surprised how not much has changed in the Immortal world. I suppose immortals are traditional, and other than the population, they have kept things rather similar.

As I step up onto the porch, I sift through excuses for running out. In no way am I going to tell Time about how I nearly got caught by his younger self.

When I wander inside, Time is sitting exactly where he was when I left. He looks up at me as I walk in, taking a glance up and down my body before he rests his gaze on my face. He doesn't look angry, just impassive.

Honestly it might just be worse.

"I think I'm going to go to bed," I say quickly, attempting to bypass his table, but he cuts me off, getting up so quick, I don't have a change to react as he grabs my arm, pulling me against him. It takes me by such surprise, I am ceased in fright.

Time's eyes flare like fiery sparks with those golden irises, making me shiver. "I'm trying to trust you, you know. That's why I didn't come after you."

"I just needed fresh air. From you," I mutter, reminding him of what made me leave in the first place. I'm unsure of whether he is angry or not. He has a way with concealing his emotions when it bests suits him, and right now, I'm not sure how to react. Would he hurt me? I know not to put it past an Immortal.

Especially one like Time.

"I don't think you understand how imperative it is that you stay out of trouble," Time growls, eyes narrowing slightly. He has me so close against him, I can feel muscle underneath his shirt, and smell his fresh, heady scent. "That is, of course if you actual value your life, which you haven't seemed to thus far."

Attempting to pull away from him, I pull my arms back, but his grip is like a vice, not giving me a single chance. I can't help but growl at him.

"No one saw me, okay? I didn't even see anyone. So can I go to bed yet, or are you going to make me do something else I don't want to?" I snap at him. He stares down at me, still not fuming, yet clearly troubled by my retort.

"Just don't do it again," he mutters.

"You don't get to tell me what to do," I remind him. Finally, yanking away from him works, and I fall into one of the dining chairs.

Time doesn't say anymore, which I'm grateful for. Instead, he turns away from me, moving toward the dresser. I watch him carefully, trying to let myself calm down. He's pulling blankets out, laying them down on the cot that's pressed up against the wall. He moves so gracefully, I can't help but wonder how much manual work he actually has to do in his normal life.

"Here's your bed. I suggest getting some sleep, we are going to leave early as possible for our next destination," he claims, motioning for me to take the bed. I raise an eyebrow at him, making him shrug. "It's only a suggestion."

"Where are you going to sleep?" I ask softly.

Time pulls out some more blankets, laying them down on the floor next to the cot. He's taking the ground so I can take the actual bed, which l can't help the smile that quirks at my smile. How often does he indulge in selfless acts like this?

We prepare for bed on opposite sides of the cabin, backs facing each other as per my request. At least he's not a total pig. I don't even notice him take a glance.

As I slip under the blankets in bed, Time switches all light off before hopping into his makeshift one. As we settle, neither of us say anything to each other. Now that I'm starting to calm down, I'm resuming how I felt before my blow up. Being calm and collected is the best way to get through this. Once Sinful is off my back, I can go home and find my brothers.

And hopefully ditch Time. Maybe.

"Where are we going tomorrow?" I ask curiously, my voice softer than it's been when talking to him all night. No point arguing now.

"You'll find out," he tells me. I scrunch my face up at his elusiveness, but I decide against demanding the location of our next destination. Surely it's another place in time I would have never dreamed of exploring. I hate that there is a flicker of excitement for a single moment. I shouldn't want to enjoy this.

Closing my eyes, I imagine myself back home, on a hunt for my lost family. I wonder if they even remember me. It seems as though Time is the only person who has cared to know of my existence recently.

Again, I shouldn't be thinking like this.

Sleep doesn't find me very easily. I watch the silvery colours of the Moon along the wooden floorboards. Beams cast against Time's sleeping face. Maybe he isn't sleeping, since rumour has it that they don't need sleep. Perhaps he is passing time, having to live by a simple half blood immortal like myself.

He's beautiful, really. The inky obsidian colour of his hair turns mercury silver under the light, glowing brilliant. It even frames his face, his skin looking flawless under the light. And to think, that simple mortal girl thought she was too good for him...

Turning over, finally, I slip into sleep, not waking until I feel someone moving me, trying to rouse me from a dream I was enjoying.

Glancing through bleary, eyes, I see Time.

"We should go. We can get breakfast in our next location," he tells me promptly. Yawning, I pull the covers back, revealing the rather heinous cream colour night clothes I had borrowed off Time. I can't wait to get these off.

Time barely gave me any time at all to get ready. He waited outside while I dressed. Taking my time, I attempt to wrap my head around what is going to happen next. Anything could happen, in reality. The next place could be a fiery out of hell. However, that's where I thought we would go in the first place, and here we are, in one of the most beautiful places have ever seen.

The moment I stepped inside, Time grabbed my arm, and once again, the world fell out from under me, as we transport to our next place.

Oddly enough, we appear inside a home.

It takes me a few moment to acclimate. My head swirls, pressure that once hurt it now vanishing. I can't even concentrate on the environment around me.

"Let me get you something to eat," Time comments.

Blinking a few times, I follow him with my gaze as he disappears into another room. It's a kitchen. I'm standing in a living room, the furniture around me simple, yet so well selected it looks like the cover of a magazine I've read. Where are we? When I turn around, I see a massive wall of glass, which beyond, is the tops of many other buildings like this.

This place isn't familiar at all. Violets, corals and oranges melt together across the sky as the sun begins to set. Lights flicker on from neighbouring villages. It reminds me of the Wisdom Pack in the mortal world, but so much more different.

"Ah, where are we?" I ask absentmindedly. Things seem modern, but the immortal world has always been advanced in comparison to the mortal world.

"Couple hundred thousand years later," Time replies.

He comes out from the kitchen, handing me a bowl. I'm too busy staring out into the distance, watching the sunset. This place is stunning. Why does Time not spend all his time here, in this small but beautiful apartment? He's clearly spent some time here by the paintings hung on the wall that look like they have come from him.

"I had this city made not long after everything happened with my brother. Being jealous and proud, I wanted to be better than him, show him up. This is the first city to be built in the immortal lands," he tells me.

A frown creases my forehead. "I thought your territory was a whole lot of nothing?"

"Well, that comes later," Time tells me. "This was one of my biggest points in life, but also my lowest. Would you like to see why?"

"I guess so," I say warily. I'm often nervous to see him when he was younger. He's lived so much of his life while I've lived none. I feel foolish, childish and young compared to him. But of course, my curiosity gets the better of me.

Time glances at the clock. "My younger self will arrive next door to hear very soon. I have to warn you though, I'm going to show you this with caution. I wouldn't want you to have to see this, but I believe it's important part of understanding my mentality."

I grit my teeth together. This doesn't sound so comforting, but he's right. This could mean a lot.

But what could he possibly be wanting to show me?
