mark watched as the sun hit donghyuck's face, creating a glowing halo of hair
admiring the youngers delicate features, his arm trapped between donghyuck's tight hold
the younger had quickly fallen asleep in marks arms as he whispered stories to him
mark wanted to be able to wake up to this every day without a care in the world
he could feel the cluster of admiration and love he felt for the younger grow with every second he spent with him. it would only be a matter of time before he would fall deeply and hopelessly in love with the boy
"whatcha thinking about?" a soft voice graced his ears, locking eyes with the big sparkling ones returning his gaze he grinned
"nothing"
donghyuck snuggled in closer to mark's body "i'm so glad it's the weekend"
he sat up, letting the thin sheets fall off his body as his stomach grumbled loudly "god i'm fucking hungry i could eat 17 pineapples"
mark snorted at the younger which was returned with a glare
"what? a queen must eat" donghyuck sassed
the elder put his hands up in mock defence "understandable"
donghyuck's frown changed into a sweet smile, leaning forward to place a soft kiss on the elder's nose as his hands messed up his black locks
pulling back with a grin he pranced out of the room, following the inviting aroma downstairs to the kitchen
mark yawned and stretched, allowing his body to shake off any tiredness he had and dragged himself to take a shower

"really? the audacity of that bitch" donghyuck exclaimed
ten rolled his eyes in agreement "i know right, then i told him it was all or nothing then i stole his cat"
donghyuck broke out into loud laughter along with jeno and johnny
clutching his stomach and gasping for air he struggled to stay in his seat
the remnants of his toast that littered across his plate went flying as johnny slammed his hands on the table earning a punch on the shoulder from ten
"stop overdoing it" ten scolded. the taller male pouted, ten grinned at him as he got up to carry his stack of plates to the growing pile that had formed
"wow hyung, that has got to be the best story i've ever heard" donghyuck wheezed as he leaned on a giggling jeno
"what can i say" ten called out from the kitchen "these things just happen to me"
johnny went to join the shorter male, both of them waving goodbye before leaving to go to the club, reminding donghyuck of his performance later
"boo" a low voice said into donghyucks ear making him jump, mark chuckled at his reaction
donghyuck reached out to slap the boy for scaring him but stopped as he took in his appearance, his hair was slicked back off his forehead glistening with water, his skin looked somehow brighter and the loose muscle tee clung slightly to his still wet body
he had just had a shower but came out looking red carpet ready
mark sat down next to a flustered donghyuck and slung his arm around his shoulders
leaning over and snatching a piece of jeno's sandwich, he ate, unfazed by the literal heart eyes donghyuck was giving him
jeno coughed to grab donghyuck's attention "mission obtain renmin" he simply stated
"i'm going to take them out today and make sure they have the best day ever" he said with a determined look on his face, "then i'll confess to both of them and jenjaeren will live happily ever after" he said with a contented smile
donghyuck gave him a pat on the back "it won't be that simple with jaemin, but you've got renjun. you should take them to rins treats, it's their favourite spot and they'll appreciate it"
"also jenjaeren doesn't sound cool, i think .... norenmin" donghyuck nodded in approval of his own idea
jeno thanked donghyuck for his advice then shot off to find doyoung to help him get ready
donghyuck smiled, happy that his friends would have someone like jeno
he turned his attention back to mark who was creating symbols with crumbs in boredom.
it would take donghyuck a while to get used to this new side of mark but he adored him nonetheless
the pair finished eating and decided to go on a tour of the house to help donghyuck settle in
they quickly change into more casual attire than the worn out pyjamas they had been flaunting, donghyuck grabbed his phone seeing the notification from yangyang asking to hang out later in the day along with xiaojun and hendery
a part of donghyuck wanted to go but he decided to decline, inviting them to watch his performance at the club instead
he then ran down to meet mark who was waiting in the lounge and so they went on with the tour
making their way through endless hallways and past dozens of rooms, donghyuck was pleasantly surprised to find a karaoke room which had been made via doyoung's request, as mark quoted "i need something to drown out the sinners moans"
walking around the eye-catching garden donghyuck realised just how wealthy the household was
marble fountains stood proud in the expansive backyard, the house was surrounded by towering trees, essentially hiding it from plain sight and vehicles passing by on the main road
he could spend hours admiring the beauty of the scenery before him, he bent down to smell the unnaturally bright blue flowers adorning the bush near him but was stopped by a sharp tug on his shirt
mark held his arm "don't touch those, they're what we use to knock out our enemies" he said sternly staring into the younger's eyes
donghyuck gulped, nodding
mark seemed to hesitate before speaking his next words
"do you ... i can show you the other parts of the house" he said, emphasising the word 'other'
donghyuck tilted his head not quite getting what mark meant but nodded anyway
"you have the right to know what goes on since you're living here and because you know this is a gang house" make continued, motioning for donghyuck to follow him back into the house
he led him to the stairs and through the door underneath them which, until now, had gone unnoticed by donghyuck
they walked down a hallway lit with a blue hue, donghyuck noticed several dents and scratches along the walls
he sped up so he was walking right next to mark, not liking the eerie feeling he was getting
they ended up in a large space
taeil, lucas and some others donghyuck recognised as jaehyun and jungwoo were surrounding a table littered with papers
behind them was a wall covered in sticky notes and pinned photos of faces, weapons and locations
a list of names stood out to him, some had lines connecting to profiles, some were struck out in red
he stepped forward to read it while mark went to go join the others

"donghyuck" taeil said, calling the boy over to the table
"i see you've read the list, yes it may seem like a lot but i assure you that they definitely will not be utilising all their members to go after you"
mark took hold of donghyuck's hand, squeezing it tightly as if he was letting him know he would be safe
"what's the 'golden trio' if you don't mind me asking?" the younger questioned, curious as to why there was nothing listed about them
taeil sighed "to be quite honest, i don't know myself except that they're always involved in big missions and always go unnoticed by rivals which gives me the impression that they blend in well and would perhaps be considered too young, or too old for a group like vision"
donghyuck nodded, pulling out his phone to check the buzzing notifications while taeil scolded jaehyun for stepping on lucas' toes in an attempt to get him to stop complaining about his lack of missions with jungwoo
he smiled to see that yangyang, xiaojun and hendery had accepted his invite and quickly sent them the address, deciding to message jaemin and renjun asking how their day with jeno was going and if they would be coming as well
he got a quick reply from jaemin
i think i love them, and of course hoe, we're your personal cheerleaders after all 🤧 now stop texting me you're ruining norenmin time
donghyuck smiled at his friends reply
you love me 💖
donghyuck pushed his phone back into his pocket, looking around the room. noticing that the marks he had seen before were leading to a large grey door. it appeared to have various stains of crimson
he shuddered, not wanting to know what took place inside
opposite to the wall covered in papers and pictures was a large clear glass pane, allowing sight into what seemed to be a weapons room
the walls were adorned with various guns and cases with shelves stacked with containers of what donghyuck assumed were bullets, mannequins with vests and belts slung over them stood proudly in the centre
"let's go" mark called, drawing donghyuck's attention away from the threatening room
