Chapter 2:The Basement
Normal P.O.V
Amy sat in her homeroom class going over her notes from first period. The teacher seemed nice and didn't really questioned her. Though she did see some of the girls give her some dirty looks seeing how Shadow and Knuckles hangout around her between the bell. They didn't realize how Amy had some classes with my friends.
Her 3rd period was P.E. which was both good and bad. Doing it nice and early in the morning but going to be sweaty for 3 classes. She walked to the locker rooms as she dropped her backpack infront but sees Rouge and Blaze. Amy smiles walking into the locker room, she headed to her locker number changing fast before skipping over to the door.
"No hon wait up for us will ya." She heard behind her. Skipping to a halt she turn to Rouge and Blaze who changed too into their uniforms. "Ugh can you believe we have to change into these tacky clothes.." Rouge complained about almost anything that didn't suit her style. "Well it's good to not wear clothes that make it hard to move around in" Blaze says. Amy smiles as her two friends who were completely opposite of each other get along.
"Well if it isn't the beautiful trio!" A male voice said. Rouge made a huff rolling her eyes "And if it isn't the biggest chump on the block..." Rouge said snapping. Blaze glare daggers at someone behind me. Turning back to the entrance of the school yard was Scourge the Hedgehog.
He looked like sonic without his shades but his quills were a lime green as his eyes were blue as the sky. He smirk showing his sharp fangs making me shudder with disgust of how he doesn't kill with those. "Heh and don't blare it out baby~" he snaps back at Rouge before pointing at me "Heard you a big hero now pinkie...though they took away that WONDERFUL voice from you" he snickers.
Rouge steps infront of me throwing her hands on her hips. Oh Scourge is getting it now. "Well at least she didn't run like a sorry dog with its tail between its legs pissing his pant from one rocket!" Man...if looks could kill, Scourge would be dead on the spot.
Blaze walked infront of me too "Sorry Scourge but we have somewhere to be and we can't be absent" she said very calmly even though I could see her tail flicking around.
He gives us a chuckle before standing to the side as we walked by. Though I could still hear his sinister laugh in the back of my mind.
The coach gave out roll call as kids stood up when their name was called. "Amelia Rose!" The coach yelled as I stood up. I could see people's head turn to look at me as some whispered stuff. He kept going down the names and it was in alphabetical order so of course Rouge is last. Seeing though how everyone almost is watching me I can't help but feel like punching those pity faces out of this world. "Rouge Jewelies!" he yells. "Here honey and might I say you look like a snack in those gym shorts~" Rouge says flirtly.
I can't help but smile holding back a laugh as the coaches face almost goes red. "Miss Rouge I can send you to the principal office right now" Rouge swayed her hip at him "Sounds tempting~" she says as some if the classmates laugh.
We were assigned to run some laps around the track it seemed. Rouge got lucky being sent to the office or she would have been complaining the whole time.
"Amy, are you sure you are okay?" Blaze says as we are speed walking. I give her a soft nod as we come to our last lap. "Hey I'll race ya!" Blaze says tapping my shoulder.
Before she could finish I felt my feet fly off the ground as I go off running.
Oh how I love running. Not as much as Sonic but I love the feeling of the wind in my quills, hearing my steps becoming light and graceful. Though I felt an uneasy turn in my gut.
The world seemed blurring suddenly. I slowed down feeling like the world was turning upside down. "A...m..y?" A faint voice said.
I reached out feeling a someone grabbing it as I fall to my knees. "Amy?! What's wrong?" I hear Blaze in a panic. I pat the top on my head motioning my head.
"I'll go get Sally..." I hear her say before I feel no one. I can hear faint mumbles from other as I could barely keep my eyes open.
"Step back!!" I can hear Sally's voice. I feel cold hands cup my face but my vision wasn't helping me. "Her body is shutting down, can someone carry he-"
Two arms lift me up off the ground "I got it Sally...Just lead the way" That low husk voice. It was Shadow, I reach up alittle touching his cheek.
Before I knew it I was greeted by a soft cushion on me and a pillow. "Amy it's okay now...you can rest..." I hear Sally say before a few more mumbles before my body gave up.

"I don't think she can last much longer..."
"We can't just give up on her though! Shes our friend!"
"But I dont want her suffering everyday knowing that she just getting closer to deaths doorstep!"
"...Well what we gonna say to her then.."
"..Nothing for now. All we can do is make her last days on this planet wonderful"

A small hand rubs my shoulder as I turn opening my eyes. The sun seemed to be down and the hallway sounded empty. I must have slept the day away. "Hey...how you feeling?" I turn seeing Cream looking at me with sad eyes.
I reach over patting her head smiling at her. "Sally told me you past out and when school ended I rushed over as fast as I could..." Cream looks up at me with her swollen eyes.
She must have been crying. I hate making her or anyone cry. I sit up pulling her into my arms, petting her head.
"I'm so glad you're okay" She says softly. I look down at her before poking her nose as she giggles happily. "Sally said go tell you she talked with the principal and you dont have to do alot of p.e.!" She said.
I gave her a pout face as I gave out a quiet sigh. That girl worries too much. I slide off the bed fixing my clothes and hair. Cream soon grabs my hand dragging me out as I found my backpack with Blaze and Shadow waiting for us.
"Everyone is at Rouge's house right now, We wanted to wait for you though" Blaze said extending her hand to me. I take it smiling as I look at Shadow. His eyes seemed distant.
We drove in silent, well except to music playing on the radio. I sat in the back with Cream who was humming the song softly.
The tension in the car felt so dense I could choke on it. I couldn't take it.
We hit a stop light and I sit up reach over the front seat turning up the music. It was "This is what you came for by Calvin Harris", Cream and I can't help but lip sync to the song jamming out in the back seat.
"
Baby, This is what you came for. Lightening strikes every times she moves."
I can hear Blaze give a soft chuckle in the front seat as the light turns green. We start driving again as Cream sits up a bit as her long ears flop behind her in the wind as she starts singing the lyrics.
"And everybodies watching her,But shes lookin at You-Oh oh, You-oh ohoh"
I lean back in the back seat looking through the review mirror looking at Shadow his red crimson eyes looked distant. His mind seemed somewhere else it seemed. Suddenly the beat to the song started rising. I smirk getting an idea as I unbuckle my seatbelt.
"Baby, This is what you came for. Lightening, strikes everytime she moves!"
I slowly started standing up while using Shadows shoulders as support. I closed my eyes feeling the rush of wind hit my face letting my long quills fly in the wind. I started laughing feeling so open and free in the moment.
"And everybody's watching her, but shes lookin a-"
The radio suddenly cut off as the car came to a halt aswell.
"Alright you party animal's, we are here" Blaze said as she hops out the driver's seat. Shadow steps out the car but he does something rather odd.
He opens my car door and extends his hand to me. "Rose..." He said so soft it gave me chills. Taking his hand, he gently pulled me up as I grab my belongings.
Making our way towards the house I could see through the window that alot of people were there. Meaning Rouge had some of her friends over aswell.
Opening the door we were welcomed by Tails and Silver coming over. "Amy!" Silver screamed giving me a tight hug. "I'm so glad you are doing alright. We were all worried about you" Tails comes to his side patting my arm. "Sally told us what happened"
I look around seeing everyone. Well everyone but Sally and Sonic. Sonic as of lately is avoiding me and Sally is usually the first one to greet me. I grab my phone typing something before showing group. "I'm gonna go get some snacks. I'll be back!"
Everyone nodded or gave me an okay before I hopped up going to the kitchen. Heading in I saw some red cups all over the countertops as I give a silent huff. They can never keep things clean around here.
Grabbing the cups I go over to the trashcan throwing them away. As I do I look down the hallway to see a door wide open that seem to lead downstairs.
Odd, I've never saw that there before? After cleaning up the kitchen a bit and grabbing a bag of chips I walk down the hallway.
Peering in, all I see was carpeted rug leading to the basement. Curious killing me I made my way down slowly so I didn't step on any loose nails sticking out.
Getting closer down the steps I hear an odd sound getting louder. Getting to the bottom I see a doorway showing light a bit.
"....Sa...we..........oh"
It sounded like Sonics voice. I walk closer just leaning on the wall daring not to peer in at all.
"I know you care for her but this can't keep happening"
That was Sally's voice. They were alone together. What are they even talking about. My heart started pounding loudly.
"Sally, You got to understand that I want this to be pu lic and not hide it from everyone" Sonic voice was tense and uneasy.
"You think I want our relationship to be a secret, Amy is my best friend! If she found out about us sh-"
"She what Sally? She can't do anything and I feel she would support this! After the incident she seemed to stop chasing me and even came to see me at all."
My heart was sinking into my gut as my breath was going crazy. This can't be happening.
"Sonic...I love you so much. Just please alittle longer can you wait.." I hear Sonic give a sigh.
"....Fine but you owe me a kiss for that" I suddenly hear Sally giggle as I hear a noise that broke my heart.
Suddenly I felt a presence next to me. Turning around I saw Shadow looking down at me. I couldn't even look at him straight as I crashed into his chest hugging him tightly.
Dropping the chip bag.
"Who's there!?" I hear Sonic yell as I held my breath. Silent fill the basement as I dare not move. Suddenly Shadow let me go stepping out from the corner into their view.
"So this is where you go to play you little games Faker" Shadow said coldly. I covered my mouth so my heavy breathing couldnt be heard.
"Shadow! Please don't tell anyo-"
"Whatever it is, isn't my problem" Shadow said bluntly. "Just hope you are fine with Amy spending the night here"
I turn my head looking up at him. He wasn't looking at me but I knew what he meant.
"She can't stay here! She needs her medicine, her morning check up and tests" Sally seemed to be yelling at him angered by his demand.
"She will be fine" Shadow turned looking down at me. "Besides I think she'll agree too"
We walks pit of their veiw as he grabs my hand pulling me up and holds me close as we walk back. Though he doesn't take me back to the group.
He leads me to the backyard pool area. It was already night time as the pool lights gleamed brightly as the moon seemd to be bitten in half.
He walks me over to a little searing area. Two sun bathing chairs, He sits down in one as he grabs my hands guiding me to sit with him.
I take his offer as I sit with him. I grab my phone typing through my blurry vision. I pass the phone to him so he could read it "I know this is an odd request but...can I hug you?"
He didnt say a word but I saw his large arms rap around me pulling me into his chest. My heart finally let go. I let out all the pain and heartbreak. I cried and screamed through silence. All Shadow did was hold me and never let go.
