"Dad?!"
"Sweetheart, that was amazing!"
"What are you doing awake at this hour?" I asked him.
"I can ask you the same question."
"You know I always wake up early." I said deflecting the look to the ocean.
He sat in the chair by my side and wiped out one of the tears that was still in my face.
"You remind me so much of her." He told me.
I looked at him.
"I don't understand why you don't want to sing in public again." He said and I looked down.
"We've had this conversation so many times..." I said.
"I know, but you never gave me a justification."
"I don't want to replace her..." I muttered.
"What?"
"I DON'T WANT TO REPLACE HER!" I scream and the tears fall again.
My dad hugged me tight and I put my face on his neck.
"Honey, you will never replace your mom. You're going to make her proud. She always wanted you to be a singer because your voice is amazing."
"Thank you, dad!"
We kept the hug for a few minutes, until my dad broke it.
"Go surf! I'll tell Mia when she wakes up and then she'll come to you."
"Ok..."
I went to put on my surf suit, I packed my things, went to get my surfboard and went to the beach.
I caught some waves and then I laid on the surfboard watching the sky when suddenly I fell into the water.
