A week had gone by since Hunters attacked the pack, Jett was slowly recovering.

The more time I spent with him, the sadder I got whenever we were apart. I enjoyed his company, the side of him he only showed me.

"What about the rumor where you guys killed all the vampires?" I asked him, throwing some popcorn into my mouth. We were cuddling on his bed, watching a movie but it turned into me wanting to get to know the pack more.

He laughed loudly, making me smile at the sound.

"If we did, it wasn't recently."

I hummed in response, thinking of the next rumor I've heard about them.

"Thousands of members?"

He slightly nodded, "It's barely over a thousand."

"Still a lot," I mumbled under my breath.

I pursed my lips, thinking of the next thing.

"Bathing in the blood of your enemies?"

He scrunched his nose, "Sounds unhygienic."

I laughed in response, slightly laying my head on his shoulder.

"Are there any true rumors? I think I can come up with a whole list of ridiculous ones."

He thought about it, before finally answering.

"We do take members from other packs, but not by force, at least not anymore. Having treaties allows us to take in members without having to start a war. When we fight we don't have mercy," he trailed, "We can't really afford to have mercy."

I frowned when I thought about how much this pack has gone through.

"Does that bother you?" He asked, pulling me from my thoughts.

"No, honestly it doesn't."

"I don't know if that makes me happy or sad..." He trailed.

I looked up at him, "Why would it make you sad?"

"I don't have to take away your innocence," He whispered.

I sighed, "I don't want to be innocent. I don't want to be naive Jett."

He kissed my forehead, "I know, but I don't want you to see the world how I see it."

I laid my head back down on his shoulder, not sure how to respond.

"Hey," he slightly nudged me.

"Hmmm?"

"Do you want to go for a run?"

I snorted, "It's late, I don't really want to get hunted by some humans."

"Run with me, let your wolf out," he whispered in my ear.

My heart skipped a beat; this would be the first time our wolves met each other.

She was always there with me, wanting to get out, wanting to mark her mate. Each time she appeared, I had to force her down, suppress the urges but it was getting harder.

She might be ready to mark her mate, but I wasn't. I wanted to get to know him more.

"I don't know, aren't you still injured?" I lamely asked, my nerves were through the roof.

He smiled, "Thank you for your concern, but I'm doing much better."

I slowly nodded my head, "Okay," I whispered, nothing else would come out.

A smile tugged on the corners of my lips; butterflies filled my stomach, "Okay," I whispered.

"I have a place I want to take you," he smiled, unwrapping himself from me to get up.

I followed, unsure of where we were going, or what was going to happen.

My wolf was on the verge of taking over. She was excited to see our mate as a wolf, to see him as the true alpha he is.

He led me to a garage, inside a few cars lined the walls. He strolled over to a raised black Jeep, opening the door for me to get in.

I pulled myself up as he shut the door, getting into his side.

He turned on the car, grinning at me. "Are you ready?"

"Yes?"

"Good," he smirked as he turned his attention back to the car, flooring it as soon as the garage door opened.

We followed a road that led out of the compound through the woods, driving in comfortable silence as I watched the night roll by.

I smiled to myself, excited to see where he was taking me, excited at the thought of meeting his wolf.

We drove through the night, flying through remote roads, eventually going off the path. It became extremely rocky.

We eventually stopped in a spot, I looked around, but it was too dark to make anything significant out.

He got out the car, coming around to open the door for me, helping me step down the lifted Jeep.

I smiled at him when I was on the ground, unsure of what do next.

He grabbed my hand, guiding me in the opposite direction of his car.

I looked around, waiting for my eyes to adjust but all I could see were thick pines everywhere.

"Where are we going?" I asked, curiosity getting the best of me.

"Somewhere we can run," he replied, picking up the pace a bit.

Finally, we stopped, still in the trees.

"Let's shift here," he let go of my hand, turning to me.

I instantly felt the heat on my cheeks, "Um, o-okay," I stumbled over my words. I wasn't ready to see all of him yet.

He let out a laugh, "We can shift behind trees," he replied, walking behind a tree.

I let out a nervous laugh, moving behind a tree to shift. I swiftly took off my clothes, folding them neatly on the ground, before I began the shift. I remember the first time I shifted, it was unbearable, the pain lasted for weeks, but now it was natural, enjoyable even.

My wolf instincts were more prominent in this form, as was the lust I felt from the mating pull for Jett. His scent filled every one of my sense; it was intoxicating. I let out a purr instinctively, I wanted to be close to Jett, to his wolf.

I scooped up my clothes, about to meet him but I stopped. My heart started pounding; I was nervous about seeing Jett, worried I wouldn't be able to hold my ground over my wolf.

Please behave, I silently pleaded with her.

With that, I stepped out from the tree, Jett was patiently waiting for me. His wolf was incredibly intimidating; he was twice the size of me, his fur thick and black, his eyes had a slight amber glow like a wolf. His scar on his face was prominent as a wolf; he would overpower me at any second if he wanted to.

He padded over to me, letting his wolf smell mine. I purred at the closeness of us, but he suddenly stepped away.

He let out a small growl, walking away putting distance between us. Unsure if I should follow him, I stayed put. I didn't know how his wolf would be if I disobeyed him he may act out of instinct first.

He stopped and looked back at me, silently telling me to follow him. I quickly caught up to him, following closely behind but not close enough we would touch, I didn't think I'd be able to handle my wolf if we touched.

He broke out in a sprint; I quickly caught up to him as we weaved our way through the trees. It was invigorating, feeling the cold earth on my paws, the crisp night scent filled his Jett's smell. I'd never experienced all these feeling as my wolf; I felt free.

After about an hour of running, he slowed down his pace to a trot. I wondered if we were near the place he wanted to take me to. I looked around, the trees became more sparse, replaced by bright white flowers that were glowing from the moonlight.

I stopped following Jett, padding over to some nearby flowers instead. I sniffed it, my nose suddenly filling with a light floral fragrance.

I looked over to find Jett, who once again was patiently waiting for me, his amber eyes followed every movement. I walked back over to him before he slowly walked through the flowers and trees a bit more before we came to an opening.

It was a field filled with the hundreds of white flowers that glowed in the night, illuminating everything around it.

Without thinking, I dropped the clothes in my mouth and shifted back into my human form; I was enchanted by the flowers. They were beautiful, the flowers had whispy petals, resembling a butterfly.

I knelt beside a flower, gently picking it. I was completely overwhelmed by the smell, the serenity of it all.

"Pretty aren't they?" Jett's voice snapped me out of my trace. I quickly hid my body, realizing I was naked.

"They're beautiful," I answered, shielding my body from his view.

He laughed, instantly making my defenses shatter.

I love that laugh.

"You are my mate; aren't you?" He asked. I heard footsteps near me as I tried to shrink into the ground.

Suddenly he threw his shirt on my head, "Here, I don't want you to be uncomfortable."

I smiled slightly, slipping it on. It was basically a dress, covering my thighs. I stood up and turned around, realizing he had put his pants on, silently thankful.

"What are they?" I asked.

He shrugged, "You like plants, shouldn't you know?"

I rolled my eyes, "I don't know every plant there is."

He smiled, "They remind me of you."

I blushed, looking away nervously. The butterflies in my stomach had been nonstop today, being around him was making me nervous.

I took a step closer to him, staring up at him, "Why?"

He tucked a piece of hair behind my ear, "Because of their beauty," he whispered.

My breath hitched in my throat, blinking at him rapidly. His words always had this effect on me, but recently it was getting worse. I wasn't able to think straight around him.

He leaned down, placing a feather light kiss against my lips, "I want you Rhea, all of you," his words husky, filled with lust.

I wrapped my arms around his waist, pulling him closer.

"Please," I whined. I wanted him as he wanted me, I wanted to close the final gap between us.

"Are you sure?" He breathed against my neck, his teeth grazing my skin.

"Yes, I'm yours."

In an instant, his teeth pierced through my skin. I let out a gasp, it was painful but a sense of pleasure quickly followed it.

I moaned as his canines sank deeper into my skin, marking me as his. My body trembled at the sensations flowing through me.

He finally pulled his teeth back, his breath ragged.

A shiver ran through my body; the sensation of pleasure slowly disappeared. I pulled him down onto the ground, straddling his body to gain access to his neck.

He wrapped his arms around me as I slowly kissed his neck, finally sinking my teeth into the same spot he marked me in. He moaned under me as I sank my teeth in deeper.

I finally removed my teeth, placing my forehead against his, smiling.

Mates... I kept chanting to myself.

He kissed the new sensitive mark, "Mine," he whispered.
