How soft is skin free of these woody scales!
My skin is course and rough even to see.
Next to her lovely face, ev'ryone pales.
I? I am simply an atrocity.
She is nothing short of ethereal.
Can there be rivals for one such as her?
No, not even my Queen Imperial.
While beautiful, my Queen lacks good humor.
Other Humans torment me night and day.
She is kind; I felt my heart would be cleaved.
"Beware the Wood Man, Ghillie Dhu," they say.
But since I saw her I am left bereaved.
I'll ne'er be rid of such consuming love,
Or far more fittingly, her lack thereof...
