Me, Aj, and Clem walked outside towards the gate. Marlon was in a small panic as he looked for this 'Rosie person.'
"Come on where is she.." he looked but still couldn't find her. I frowned, hoping that she wasn't missing. He shook his head and then turned to us.
"You give her her weapon back?" Marlon asked. Clem pulled her knife out of its holder.
"Good. We're gonna need you to put it to use, we got a hunting party out there trying to get back inside. They need our help clearing the way.." Marlon explained I looked over tothe blonde girl who was on the wall earlier, we made eye contact and I smiled at her. She turned away and I frowned.
"There's been a few more then usual these past couple days." Marlon added, the blonde girl fake laughed.
"Oh I don't know, maybe something drew them in, you know, like a big explosion or a car crash." She spoke unamused, Clem stared daggers at her.
"Vi." Marlon stopped her. She crossed her arms.
"What?" She rolled her eyes. I stepped forward.
"Look.. neither of us knew that was gonna happen.. the bomb, the car crash.. we're sorry if we caused you any problems." I apologized, the girls eyes widened and she looked away, Louis cleared his throat.
"Hello (Y/N), Hello Clementine, I'm Violet, nice to meet you." He spoke, Violet shook her head.
"What he said." She quickly spoke, I smiled a bit.
"Alright boys and girls! Their starting to fill in!" The guy standing over the wall yelled, he then pointed towards the walkers. Clem turned to me.
"(Y/N).. can you watch Aj while I'm out?" She asked me quietly so Aj couldn't hear, I smiled and nodded.
"Of course. You can count on me." I whispered back. Marlon then turned to Clem.
"Good luck out there." He told before grabbing his bow and loading it with an arrow. He then dashed out the gates, following behind Violet. Louis walked in front of us.
"Don't mind Violet.. she uh, grows on you.. I promise." He smiled and placed what looked like a chair leg onto his shoulder. Me and Clem gave him a weird look. He looked at the chair leg.
"Oh this? It's a chair leg. I call it, 'Chairles'" he grinned, I smiled and rolled my eyes. He then walked out the gates. Clem shook her head and walked through the gates closing it behind her. Aj ran up to the gate and gripped the rails.
"Clem..! Lemme help!" He called out, I limped over to him and put my hand on his shoulder. He looked at me.
"Let's keep watch, we can help Clem that way okay?" I asked him. He looked a bit disappointed.
"Okay.." he sighed. Clem smiled at me and ran off to help the others. I slowly sat on the ground and Aj did the same. I extended my ankle out to give it a break.
"Hey don't worry, your not the only one that has to do the boring watch job." I smiled at him. I noticed he was staring at my ankle. He looked up at me.
"Will your ankle ever get better?" He asked, I nodded.
"Yeah! It just takes a little while." I told him, he turned his head.
"How long?" He asked. I chuckled.
"5-7 days at least. It depends how bad the sprain is." I replied. I then looked at the ground. I then looked up and saw Clem fighting the walkers I sighed.
"Hey Aj.. do you know how Clem feels about me?" I asked the small boy. He looked at me confused.
"What do you mean? I think she thinks your cool." He told me, I shrugged.
"I know.. but we had a rough time when we first met, she didn't really like me that much.." I looked towards her and felt a bit sad, Aj smiled and grabbed my arm.
"I think your super cool (Y/N)! And she does to, don't worry." He told, I smiled and messed up his hair. He giggled and grabbed my hand.
"Thanks kiddo.." I told him. I looked out and continued to watch with Aj. Suddenly something that looked like a dog ran past the gate. My eyes widened and I stood up, getting a tight grip on the rails and looking out, the dog was running towards Clem. My heart sank and I swung open the gate without thinking.
"Clem! Behind-" before I could say more my ankle gave in and I fell on the ground in pain. I gripped the ground in pain but quickly looked up as the dog attacked the walker that Clem had been fighting. Aj quickly ran to my side.
"(Y/N)..! Are you okay?" He asked, he helped me stand up. I then noticed Marlon calming down the dog, 'it must be their dog.. Wait they have a dog..?!' I was a bit shocked at first but I brushed it off for now. Aj handed me my crutches I smiled at him.
"I'm okay bud. Thanks." I told him. He nodded and walked back inside the gate. I followed him and a few people I didn't recognize walked in along with Clem and the others. I smiled at her. She gave me a thumbs up. Aj ran up and grabbed her arm. She looked at him.
"Their pretty good.. with the monsters." Clem smiled. I looked up as Marlon walked over to us.
"Come on y'all foods nearly-" He placed his hand on Aj's shoulder but was interrupted by Aj elbowing his crotch. He coughed and immediately bent down. I looked at him in shock.
"Aj..!" Clem scolded. Aj looked at Clem in fear then ran off towards the gate. I looked over at Marlon.
"I'm sorry about that.. it happens sometimes.." Clem immediately apologized. Marlon stood up a bit.
"Are you okay?" I asked, he nodded.
"He's a jumpy little guy.." he fake chuckled. Me and Clem frowned. Marlon then sighed.
"Look, he can't go around punching people in the.. you know. And expect to sit at the same table." He frowned and looked over at Aj. Aj turned and looked at him, but after seeing his face quickly turned back towards the gate.
"I'll go talk to him." Clem volunteered. I nodded and smiled, she walked off towards Aj. Marlon turned to me.
"Fill free to sit down and relax, being on crutches for a while can get tiring." He smiled, I nodded.
"Thank you." I smiled, he nodded and walked away, I looked around and decided to introduce myself to everyone. I crutched up to the girl from earlier. 'Ruby.. I think that was her name..' she was staring at the fire with her arms crossed. We made eye contact as I walked up.
"Hello.. Ruby is it..?" I asked, smiling. She turned to me and nodded.
"Hello, don't think you've introduced yourself yet. I just know you from earlier so.." I nodded.
"(Y/N).." I told her. She smiled a bit.
"Ah. Well it's good to meet you (Y/N)." It was silent for a bit after that point as we both stared at the fire. 'I should apologize about Aj's behaviour earlier..' I thought but before I could say anything she interrupted me with her own question.
"How's your ankle?" I looked down at it. I sighed.
"Not the best.. but I'm just glad it's not broken. Thanks for asking though." I then stood up on my crutches, and smiled at her.
"I'm gonna go meet the others, it was nice talking to you Ruby.. also I'll make sure Aj apologizes to you about your hand.." I rubbed the back of my head, she smiled.
"Thanks (Y/N). It was nice meeting you too." She smiled back, I nodded and looked over to a couple of guys sitting at a table. I crutched over to them. The looked up as I approached.
"Hey." I waved.
"Hey. I'm Mitch. Your one of the new girls right?" He asked, I nodded.
"That's me. I'm (Y/N) by he way." I introduced, Mitch turned back to the weapon he was carving.
"I'm Willy!" The boy beside him added. I gave him a wave.
"Well nice meeting you two.." I awkwardly walked away and noticed Louis with another person I didn't recognize. I crutched over to them, in the corner of my eye I noticed Aj apologizing to Ruby. I smiled.
"Oh hey (Y/N)!" I turned back to Louis as he called out to me, he waved me over. I smiled and looked at the giant pot cooking what looked like to be stew.
"Hello." I smiled, Louis grinned at me.
"Heya, I'm guessing you haven't met Omar. Oh. I mean.. chef Omar." Louis gestured over to him.
"Hello (Y/N). And no, it's not ready yet." I nodded. I looked at the pot.
"It smells great, I haven't eaten any hot food in.. I can't even remember." I chuckled, Louis adjusted his coat.
"Omar is a perfectionist when it comes to cooking. Slightest flavour out of place and he's grumpy for a week." Louis put his hands on his hips. Omar rolled his eyes a bit.
"You can eat or your can eat right. All you need is a little patience." He told. I smiled.
"Well.. nice meeting you Omar. Can't wait to try it." He nodded and I waved to Louis. He waved back and gave me a wink. I giggled a bit the walked away. I walked past Marlon.
"Ah, (Y/N)... right?" I turned to him and noticed another girl I didn't recognize. I smiled and walked up to them.
"That's me, nice to meet you." I smiled at the girl. I looked at the dog sitting next to them. I felt a bit nervous, especially seeing how aggressive the dog was earlier, but I ignored it.
"Woah, I heard you got it pretty bad in the car crash.. didn't think it was that bad..!" She looked at my foot, I rubbed the back of my neck, a bit embarrassed.
"Yeah.. I guess I did..." I chuckled a bit.
"Well, I'm Brody. Nice to meet you." She introduced, I smiled.
"Nice to meet you Brody. Again thanks for helping us out." Brody and Marlon nodded.
"Of course!" She chirped. I gave them a wave and crutched over to an opening attached to the school, as soon as I walked in I felt a sad feeling wash over me. There were crosses with peoples names edged into them. I noticed that Tenn and.. Violet..? Were standing by two of the graves. I decided to leave them as they seemed to want to be alone. I turned to move.
"Oh.. hello. (Y/N).. right?" Violet asked me. I turned back and I nodded.
"Yeah that's me.. sorry.. did I interrupt anything..?" I apologized Violet fully turned to me.
"No no it's okay.." She consoled. I crutched beside her and stared at the graves. It was silent for a bit. I decided to speak up.
"If.. if you don't mind me asking.. who did you bury here..?" I asked her, she looked at me then sadly turned back to the grave.
"No one necessarily.. this is just where we buried Tenn's sisters belongings. Minnie and Sophie. Twins.. lost them both about a year ago.." she frowned, I watched as Tenn placed a bouquet of flowers on Sophie's grave. Violet turned to me.
"Paying respects.." She simply spoke. I frowned.
"I.. know how it feels.. to lose someone close to you... I hope you can overcome the sadness of losing them.." I told Tenn. He nodded shyly.
"Thanks.." He smiled a bit. I turned to Violet with a smile. She smiled back a bit suddenly we were cut off by Louis.
"(Y/N)! Clem! Aj! Stews done!" He called out. Me, Violet and Tenn stared at the graves a quick moment longer before heading over to the tables.
I smiled as I sat next to Clem. She smiled back at me and looked at my foot.
"How's your ankle?" She worriedly asked, I smiled and placed my crutches next to me.
"Better, I feel like I could walk on it tomorrow." I told, Aj looked at me confused.
"Already?" He asked, I chuckled.
"I'm a fast healer, what can I say?" I winked at him. Louis, Ruby, and Marlon gathered at me, Clem's and Aj's table. Louis handed us our bowls.
"Dinner is served!" He announced and sat down. I picked up my spoon.
"Wow I can't remember the last time we had a hot meal.. this is really good." Clem told. I took a spoonful and put it in my mouth, she was right, it was delicious! I turned and saw Aj slurping his down. I looked at him in shock with how he could eat so fast. I slowly put another spoonful in my mouth, but almost choked on it when Louis burped. I chuckled with it still in my mouth.
"Oh come on!" Ruby groaned in disgust. Aj ignored her and burped as well. I swallowed but snickered a bit. Clem looked at him disapprovingly.
"Where are you manners Aj." She asked, Aj looked at Clem but continued to slurp his food. Ruby rolled her eyes and left the table.
"Ugh. Goodnight." She hissed. Walking away.
"Goodnight!" Aj called out to her. I smiled and looked at how much I had eaten. About half. I never really ate that much anyways and wasn't really hungry anymore.
"Clem.." Aj looked up at her. Clem frowned and looked at his bowl.
"I'm sure they shared as much as they could kiddo.." she told him, Aj looked down. Louis noticed this and began to slide his bowl over to Aj. I put my spoon in front of his bowl to stop it and he looked at me in confusion.
"Here Aj. Have mine. I wasn't really hungry anyway." I handed him my bowl. Aj smiled and took it. Clem looked at me.
"Are you sure?" I simply nodded. Louis smiled and continued to eat his. Aj quickly finished and so did everyone else at the table.
"All done." Aj rubbed his stomach. Clem looked at her bowl.
"Me too." She put her spoon in the bowl and pushed it away from her.
"Now what?" Aj asked Louis stood up from his chair, I looked at him in confusion.
"I'll tell you what." He flipped his chair and sat on it again.
"Time for something.. very important." He told, I turned my head in confusion and he pulled out a deck of cards, he raised it up and pointed at it. Brody who was walking by rolled her eyes.
"Oh god. Goodnight." She sighed and walked past. I smiled.
"Violet it's time!" He called out, Violet quickly joined the table.
"What's the game tonight Lou?" Marlon asked, moving the bowls away so we had more space on the table. He looked serious.
"War. The oldest game around.. a game played by men and beast alike. The only game there is." Louis introduced and began shuffling the cards.
"Get Ready losers. Because it's time for you to lose." Clem spoke confidently. I chuckled at her and the others smiled at her.
"Ohhh shit! I like that." Louis smirked and began dealing the cards.
"Bold talk." Marlon raised an eyebrow at Clem. Clem shook her head.
"No, true talk." She finished. Louis turned to me.
"How about you (Y/N)? You up for it?" He asked.
"Hell yeah. Also don't get too cocky Clem, it might bite you in the ass." I smirked and she raised her eyebrow at me.
"Ooooooh damn!" Louis commented. Violet sighed and rolled her eyes.
"It's easy. Everyone gets a stack of cards. Everyone flips one over, highest card wins." She explained, I nodded.
"And the winner gets to ask Clem or (Y/N) a question." Every looked at Louis.
"What? We want to get to know you, we all do." Louis shrugged.
"So me and Clem are a team then?" I asked. Louis nodded.
"Pretty much. Hopefully Clem's cockiness doesn't let you down in the end (Y/N)." Louis grinned. I smiled.
"I'm sure it won't." I reassured.
"Okay, but what if me and (Y/N) win?" Clem asked, confused.
"Then you get to ask us a question. It's only fair." Louis told, finishing dealing all the cards. Clem turned to Aj's empty seat.
"But what about Aj-" She was cut off when she noticed his seat was empty.
"What about him. Looks like he made a friend." Marlon gestured to the new table he was sitting at. Me and Clem both turned. I smiled, seeing him talking to Tenn. we both turned back around.
"Let's take a break Clem. I can't remember the last time we had one." I put my hand on her shoulder. She smiled.
"Yeah.. maybe.. it's just.. This is his first time around anyone his age. Sometimes he act more like an adult than a kid.." Clem smiled as she looked at him.
"It's nice to see him act like a little boy again.." she added. I nodded.
"Yeah.. we hope he can have the best childhood.. but it's hard to give it to him, especially with the walkers everywhere.." I frowned. Clem nodded and turned back to the group. Marlon smiled.
"Louis, if you would." He asked, Louis grabbed his card and flipped first, me and Clem followed along with everyone else. I looked at my card. 'Two of diamonds..' I then looked at Clem's and saw she had a five of clubs. Louis had a five of diamonds, Marlon had a 3 of spades, and Violet had a king of hearts. She smirked as she noticed she had the highest card.
"Way to go me." She cheered, she then cleared her throat.
"So about Aj.." she began. I looked at Clem since I didn't actually know much about him.
"Where.. where are Aj's parents?" Violet finished, everyone looked at her.
"You two don't really look related.. so.." Violet remarked. Clem looked at the table then back at everyone.
"Their dead. They were nice people. For the most part." She told, I frowned.
"Well, makes sense. he's a nice kid." Louis told Clem smiled a bit.
"For the most part." She told, Violet turned to me.
"So, were you with Clem at that time (Y/N)? When.. Aj's parents died." She asked me, I shook my head.
"Nope, I didn't know Clem at all then.." I told, rubbing the back of my head awkwardly. Clem nodded. We all flipped a card again. I frowned when I noticed I got a 6 of spades, but then noticed Clem had the high card. Clem grinned.
"Hey, we win!" She turned to me and I put my hand out for a high five, she accepted and we turned back to the group.
"Hey, you do. Ask away." Louis smiled, I nodded Clem, letting her ask the first question. She looked up at Marlons haircut and I knew exactly what she was gonna ask.
"What's up with your haircut Marlon?" I snickered.
"Oh boy.." Louis cringed. Marlon glared daggers at Clem.
"What do you mean?" He asked, clearly pretending to be clueless as if it wasn't a problem. Violet spoke up.
"She means it looks like a dead cat, probably smells like one too." Violet teased. Clem nodded. Marlon rolled his eyes.
"Uh, I look cool." He crossed his arms. Violet grinned.
"Whatever you say.." She finished.
"I say I look cool." He confirmed, looking down at his cards again. Me and Violet made eye contact and we smiled at each other. We then flipped another card. Louis smiled as he was the high card.
"Booyah!" He grinned, I rolled my eyes. He then looked at me. I froze a bit. He looked down awkwardly.
"Come on. Spit it out." Violet spoke impatiently. Louis looked up at me again.
"So.. ever have a boyfriend or girlfriend?" He asked, Violet slammed her hand on the table.
"Oh my god." She cringed. My face awkwardly turned red a bit.
"What? It happens. Perfectly valid question." He defended. I laughed.
"I Uh.. yeah.. I've Uh.. had a (girlfriend/boyfriend) before.." I quickly answered. Everyone looked at me.
"But it Uh.. it didn't.. last long.." I awkwardly whispered. Louis raised an eyebrow, clearly wanting to push this further.
"What was (her/his) name?" He smiled, I cringed a bit in awkwardness.
"Um.. uh... Sam.. (His/Her) name was Sam. (He/She) really sucked though. Almost got me killed a few times.. ended it pretttty quick." I told. Louis chuckled. He then turned to Clem.
"How about you Clem?" He grinned. I raised my eyebrow at her.
"That stuffs for suckers. Just gets you into trouble. Just like (Y/N)'s relationship did." She told. I shrugged since she was technically right. I couldn't help but frown a bit. 'Why does that bother me..' I thought. Suddenly everyone was flipping a card. I quickly flipped one over as well, seeing I had won. I smiled.
"Nice. My turn... now.." I immediately started to think of a question. Everyone was looking at me, but I couldn't think of one. Clem leaned over and whispered in my ear, my heart pounded a bit as she did.
"Grossest thing they've eaten?" I nodded and she leaned back. I smiled at them.
"Grossest thing you've ever eaten." I smiled. Violet immediately spoke up.
"That easy.. horse eyeballs." She smiled, Marlon spoke up as well.
"Slugs." Marlon chuckled.
"Cantaloupe." Louis answered, we all looked at him like he was crazy.
"Come on.." Violet sighed Louis crossed his arms.
"Dude. I fucking hate cantaloupe." He defended. I chuckled.
"I've eaten octopus before, it tasted okay, but the texture is kinda gross. It's really chewy.." I told, Violet looked at me. (Sorry people if you like octopus! I'm not a big fan myself x-x)
"I ate some guys leg once.." Clem awkwardly added. We all turned to her in shock.
"I'm kidding..!" She quickly recovered, Louis looked at her.
"...Are you?" He nervously asked. Clem quickly turned over her next card to avoid the question. I did the same. Marlon had the high card this time.
"Ha. I win.. so.. Clem, (Y/N). I know you weren't together for long, because of what (Y/N) said about Aj.. so.. who used to take care of you two?.. family? Anyone?" He asked. Clem looked down, I decided to answer first.
"Well, originally.. my dad did. We were alone for a while.. I met up with a few groups every now and then.. didn't make it. I then found a group that I called home for a while, we were attacked and then.. that's when I met Clem." I smiled at her. She slowly smiled at me.
"I see, so you've been with lots of people then.." I nodded at Marlon. Everyone turned to Clem.
"You know you don't have to say Clem.. if your not comfortable.." I reassured her. She sighed and spoke up anyway.
"The first person who taught me about survival was.. Lee.." she began. Marlon leaned forward a bit.
"What'd he teach you?" He asked. Clem looked at him.
"Lots of stuff." She answered.
"Most important thing..?" Marlon asked again. She looked down.
"How to say goodbye.." She finished, I could tell she was a bit upset. I've heard Clem mention this Lee guy a few times, but never knew how truly important he was to her. We all quickly flipped the next card. Violet again had the next card.
"Victory Violet." She grinned, she cleared her throat.
"Here's a question I love to ask when I'm in groups... out of the four of us.. who's gonna die first?" She spoke, me and Clem's eyes widened a bit at her morbid question.

(Hey guys! It's the author here! I wanted to just thank you all for your votes and comments I've been receiving on my chapters! When I started this story I honestly did think people would like it! It makes me happy to know that you guys are enjoying it! Which pushes me to want to write more! Now I want to mention a few things about future chapters.
I want you all to know that (Y/N) in the story is going to be Bisexual just like Clem. This helps me with writing chapters for both Violet and Louis for readers who like Violet or Louis more. Also there are going to be two different chapters released for Violet or Louis choices. (For example, going hunting with Louis, or Fishing with Violet.) this is so people can get a full choice on what characters they want. But just know I still will be uploading weekly. Since I am in high school I won't be able to update multiple times per week. Next chapter will be our first example for this, but I need to ask a question. Should I write a Louis chapter first or a Violet chapter first for next Sunday? Please tell me in the comments below! (Just know If you guys choose Louis, i will update and do Violets chapter, but it will have to be next next week. And not right away. So please tell me!
