donghyuck woke to the feeling of throbbing pain in the back of his head
he groggily forced his eyes open, squinting them as they adjusted to the bright lighting
his gaze landed on a hunched figure at the end of the bed he was on
a shirtless figure
donghyuck let out a small gasp as the figure looked up to meet his eyes
marks eyes were bloodshot and looked as if he would fall asleep any moment
"oh, you're awake"
"w-what happened" the younger whispered, finding it difficult to speak clearly
"one of the guys took you out because they thought you were the opposition, that's why you're here"
donghyuck just stared at mark in confusion, he looked around and realised that he was in mark's room, wondering how he had turned up there
mark sighed. he knew the boy would have to find out sooner or later. and sooner was safer than later, pushing aside the thoughts of the consequences
"i'm assuming you know the rumours about me?"
donghyuck gave a small smile "which one, there's a lot"
mark raised an eyebrow "really? like what"
donghyuck almost combusted at the effortlessly sexy look "uh you know how you're in a gang and the son of drug lords, and that you killed a rat when you were 5"
mark chuckled but soon turned serious
"i'm in a gang donghyuck, not some petty gang that steals from atm machines or starts fights over colours. i'm part of moon" mark said, not making eye contact with the younger
he was uncharacteristically afraid of his reaction and he hated it. he despised how suddenly because of one boy he began to care about things
donghyuck sat silently, processing the information
quietly he asked, "does this mean you have to kill me now?"
"w-what?!" mark spluttered in disbelief
"well now i know your secret, aren't you worried i'll tell someone?" donghyuck said, mark then realised donghyuck was serious after seeing the face the boy was making
he placed his hands on the youngers as if to calm him, not missing how his face broke into a mad blush "of course not, and besides i think your friends will find out sooner or later"
he watched as donghyuck was visibly restraining himself from asking further
laughing softly "go ahead, ask. there's not much that offends me"
"so does that mean taeil is the leader?"
mark nodded, surprised. it usually took people a while to put two and two together
donghyuck was surprised as well "he seems so harmless though?"
"don't underestimate him, he can be scary"
the room once again filled with silence, thoughts heavy on both minds
a gentle knock interrupted the heavy silence, a blonde head poked through a small gap in the door
"hyung wh-" donghyuck's surprise was cut off kun threw himself toward the boy. donghyuck immediately relaxed into the strong arms surrounding him tightly. worried when he heard small sobs emitting from the elder
softy holding kun's face he looked at his brother in concern, "why are you crying hyung?"
kun smiled through the tears, letting the younger know they were of joy "i'm glad you're ok. i don't know what i would have done if i lost you hyuckie, not like mom and dad..." he trailed off, bringing his brother back into his arms
kun changed his demeanour, a stern expression gracing his handsome features
"why didn't you tell me you had taken up that job? imagine my horror when i got home early and you weren't there only to receive a call from taeil that you were unconscious"
donghyuck grinned sheepishly "sorry hyung, i forgot to tell you"
kun turned to mark who had been standing awkwardly in the corner while the brothers had their tearful reunion
"come here" he stated
mark shuffled over, letting kun pull his shirt off and examine his shoulder
he tensed slightly as kun pulled of the bandage
"it seems to have healed pretty well, you can stop wearing the bandages now, but you still need to be careful"
kun turned back to donghyuck "once you're ready, come to the lounge, taeil wants to discuss some things" leaving the two boys in the room once again
"do you know how my brother knows taeil?"
mark was unsure whether or not to answer, it wasn't his place to tell but the pleading look on the youngers look was swaying him. "he's our gang's doctor and taeils boyfriend"
"WHAT?! AND HE DIDN'T TELL ME?"
rushing up donghyuck ran out the door leaving in a flash, mark regained his senses and hurried after the fuming boy, ready to break up a fight
he found him doing what looked like an attempt to strangle kun "I KNEW YOU HAD A BOYFRIEND YOU ASSHOLE WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME?! I KNEW THOSE WEREN'T MOSQUITO BITES"
it wasn't what mark was expecting, to say the least, he thought he would lash out for his affiliation with the gang rather than a hidden relationship
taeil watched the situation lazily from where he was seated on one of the couched
donghyuck stopped, glaring holes into kun. he stood up and dramatically taking a deep breath. only then noticing the amused faces of several unfamiliar men standing around the room. some had guns lazily slung across their chests and waists, decked out in active wear and some looked like normal members of the public, lounging about casually
donghyuck recognised johnny, ten and taeyong as well as mr nakamoto and sicheng who was standing beside him. he spotted jeno who smiled cutely and waved to him
a tall built male stepped forward with and walked over to donghyuck
"hey man, sorry about knocking you out. i thought you were the enemy" he said apologetically in a deep voice
donghyuck nodded nervously "i-its ok" to be honest donghyuck was more scared of the gun wrapped around the tall man's waist than the man himself
noticing this he took it off and placed it down on the table. putting one of his abnormally large hands out "wong yukhei, huang xuxi, lucas but you can call me yours" he said smiling dumbly
a soft gasp was heard from the group of men as a slim man stood with his arms crossed "lucas! i'm right here" his soft voice protested, storming off
lucas gulped and ran after the man "jungwoo wait! you're my only one i promise" the shouts of desperation faded as they travelled further into the house
all while mark watched, taking large strides towards donghyuck he wrapped an arm around his small frame possessively
donghyuck blushed as mark held onto him
suddenly a loud noise came from the entrance of the house as two figures strode into sight
long silver, almost dark grey hair flowed in the breeze that seemed to have been created just for that moment. the two women looked around the room, standing in a stance of authority and power
the men scrambled to bow lowly
taeil stood up "yoonah, chaerin. it's been a while"
