Daniel looks down at his hand and sees the piece of jewelry that he had bought. He turned over the bracelet and goes over the engraving with his thumb.

It was pure luck that Daniel just so happened to stumble upon her phone number, thinking it was Zach.
He lifts his head and looks to his band mate next to him, who was driving. "This really all started with you. You know that?"
"What do you mean?" Zach kept his eyes fixed on the road, watching out for cars, quickly glancing at the phone for directions.
"If you didn't change your number then I would've never texted Kelsi. I would've never met the love of my life." He places the bracelet back into its velvet box and pocketed it.
"Oh that?" He gently pushed his foot against the brake and turned to Daniel. "I guess so."
"Good luck man." Zach got out of the car, tossed the keys to Daniel then switched places. He started his way to Maya's door as Daniel left to drive to Kelsi's house just three minutes away.
When he pulls up to her house and turns off the engine and before he hops out, he gets the bouquet of mixed roses from the back.
Inside, Kelsi was getting ready, thinking she was going to dinner with Maya and Jess. She looks into the mirror, seeing the floor length, velvet dress.
"You look so beautiful." Kelsi's mom, Gemma, spoke from her doorway. She walks into her daughter's old room and comes next to Kelsi.
"Thanks Ma, but I got to go soon. Maya said she's gonna be here," She pauses to look at the time posted in her phone. "Now actually."
"Let me get a picture first." Kelsi and Gemma both turned around to see Jessica in shorts and a baggy hoodie.
Confused, her sister walked to the hallway where Jessica was standing and took her by the shoulders. "Why the hell are you not dressed."
"Kelsi Jade James. You will not use that language in my home." Gemma crosses her arms, disappointed, but not surprised, at the teen's words.
She rotates just her head and apologizes to her mother and goes back to her sister. "I'm sorry KJ, but this is a good thing."
"What's happening?" As soon as Kelsi spoke, the doorbell rang.
"Can you go answer that sis?" Jess has a devious smile in her face on top of speaking so sweetly. "Don't worry, it's a good thing."
Half worried, half mad, she made her way to the door with her mom and sister close behind. She undid the chain and opened the door and once she saw who was behind, she immediately closed it shut. Daniel. She hoped the wooden door would be as if he wasn't actually there.
"Kelsi." He brought the flowers down to his side and put his hand against the door. "Please open the door." Hesitantly, she opened it again but kept her eyes on the ground.
Her mom and sister slowly backed away so the kids could have their space.
"Why are you here Daniel?" On the surface, she was as calm and cold hearted as she could act, but in the inside, she was freaking out and all she wanted to do was give her ex-boyfriend a hug and kiss him.
"I just...I just wanted to dinner. You owe me that." Daniel held out the flowers and unexpectedly, she took them.
"I owe you?" She placed the roses gently onto the small table in the foyer and crossed her arms. "Why would I owe you?"
"You're the one who broke up with me. And broke my heart." Hearing that, Kelsi's heart broke even more then it already was. "I think I deserve one last date."
She slowly brought her arms back to her side and took a step outside. "That makes no sense, but fine."
The ride to the restaurant was long and very awkward for both of them. Daniel thought it would be a good idea to play some music and so he clicked on a playlist.
The first song to play was his and his band's song, Big Plans. The first song she ever heard the boys sing. Once Kelsi heard the first note, a smile comes across her face as flashback of memories of them took over her mind.
Even days of just cuddling on his couch and the endless conversations they had on the phone that lasted all night. Those are the things they both missed.
When they got the the restaurant, Daniel got out as quickly as possible so he could open Kelsi's door for her. She was taken aback but took his hand to get out of the rented Jeep.
"Thank you, kind gentleman." Kelsi let a small laugh escape her lips and carefully steps out.
Together, they looked up to the bright sign which read Bugatti Ristorante. As the gentleman that he is, Daniel held the door open for Kelsi and topped his imaginary top hat.
"Seavey for two." Flashbacks of their date where Daniel asked for Kelsi to be his girlfriend go through both of their heads.
The host shows them to their tables and hands them the menus. Under the table, Daniel fiddles with the velvet box under while Kelsi plays with the slit of her dress.
"Kelsi?" Daniel's voice when he spoke was the same as when he sang, soft and sweet. "We have a lot to talk about."
Kelsi agreed with a nod of her head and brings her two hands to the table to where it is inches from Daniel's and all Daniel just wanted to take those hands and hold them in his. Secretly, she did too.
"I know." Before Daniel could respond, Kelsi started babbling. "I'm so sorry Daniel. I didn't want to hurt you like that, but it seemed like the only way for those things to...stop."
"Kelsi." Daniel took the courage and placed his hand onto hers. "It's okay. I know it was the right thing to do for you."
Kelsi lets out a sigh and smiles at the boy across from her and he kisses her hand with an ever so soft kiss.
"Daniel." Kelsi slowly slid her hand out of Daniel's and held her own hand in front of her. "I don't know if I can deal with all the hate again."
"I know and I wish I could get rid of all those haters for you, but babe," Hearing Daniel call Kelsi babe again was the best and worst feeling in the world. "It's kind of impossible."
He took a deep breath and scooted his chair to were it was inches from the most beautiful girl he ever laid his eyes on. "But Daniel-"
Before Kelsi could finish her sentence, Daniel interrupted her by placing his hand on her upper arm. "No more excuses. I love you and, as far as I remember, you love me. That's all I need to know for me to ask you again."
"Daniel." Her voice was soft but the name choked as she said his name.
"Can I get you anything?" The waitress holds a notepad in one hand and a pen in the other. "Ma'am? Sir?" She looked to each of the (former) couple and finally noticed how they were engaged in a meaningful conversation. "I can come back."
She starts to back away but Daniel stops her and quickly orders for the both him and Kelsi.
"Anyways," He locks her eyes back onto Kelsi and moves his hands to her legs. "I know it's hard for you, but for this one moment, can you not think about anyone but yourself. What you want. You've looked after and pleased everyone for such a long time and I just want you to get what you truly want." With another deep breath in and out, Kelsi placed her hands on top of Daniel's, making him smile. "Will you please consider being my girlfriend again?"
Kelsi just smiles and kisses the boy on his lips. The first kiss, again. She felt him smile from behind her closed eyes as their lips moved together for the first time in weeks.
When they finally pulled away and opened their eyes, they had these unrealistically happy smiles plastered onto their faces. "Is that a yes?"
All Kelsi could do in response was laugh. Daniel pulled out his velvet box from his jacket pocket and that made Kelsi's heart beat twice as fast as it was.
"Don't worry, it's not a ring." He laughs as quietly as possible and opens the box revealing the engraved bracelet. "It's a bracelet."
She took it and turned it around to show the darkened words. "My luck," She read the words aloud, "I love it."
"And I love you." Kelsi's face scrunched up, making her cringe. "I know it was cringe, but I do love you." Daniel smiled, showing his pearly white teeth.
"And I love you."
