Aizawa Shota was having a shitty day.

First, he gets dragged off to the school in the early morning. He hadn't even had his coffee for goodness sake! Then, he was told last minute that he'd be proctoring for the written exam for those applying for General Studies. And, he even ran into Hideyoshi Akemi's daughter multiple times. A daughter that he nor anybody else except apparently Midnight and Nezu knew about. At least she wasn't a sarcastic loudmouth like her mother. In any case, the world seemed to have it out for him today. So, at this point, all he wanted to do was take a well-deserved nap.

Was that too much to ask?

Apparently so.

He had barely made it out before Hizashi decided to destroy any semblance of peace he thought he could attain by leaving. Somehow, he managed to convince Aizawa to tag along with him to Plus Ultra Records. Apparently, the hyperactive man needed some help with some paperwork but had to stop at the recording studio for a quick meeting with some higher up.

So, Aizawa, of course, was forced to come with.

Luckily, it didn’t take too long to reach the building, but it seemed like forever to the tired man. What’s more, his poor luck decided to strike once more. They hadn’t even taken a step inside the building, and he was already being practically tackled for the second time that day. This was not what he signed up for when deciding to attend this venture. All he wanted to do was sleep, so why was he cursed in this way?

Just… Why?

****

It was already evening by the time Masami/Yui finished up with everything. It had been tiring, but she didn’t have much trouble with it. It was a productive day, and she even made new friends! The two boys each had their own little quirks, but Masami was sure that they’d both fit in just fine. If only she could get them to talk more. Now, that would be a miracle!

Not that she has any room to speak.

Jogging out of the building, she  was still dressed as Yui. However, her attire had been changed to that of casual wear with simple jeans, a T-shirt, and a black baseball cap that matched her pitch black high-tops. Her uniform was placed in a school bag that hung over her shoulder, and she was rushing as she still had to go to her other job that was at a quaint, little cafe. Thankfully, she’d only be working for about two hours or so before being allowed to go home.

Unfortunately, rushing turned out to be a bad idea on my part as she collided with someone about to walk into the building. Groaning, Masami couldn’t believe that this was happening again. Was it just her luck to keep on literally running into people today? And it wasn’t just that. This time had been worse. Instead of just being knocked over, the baseball cap that she was wearing ended up being knocked off, and papers went flying out of her bag scattering on the sidewalk. Furthermore, this time, the other person went down too as she had been wearing her weighted gloves and shoes that added quite a bit to the force upon impact.

“Ah, curses…” She let out softly, scrambling to grab all of the different papers that had fallen out of her bag before they flew away. Masami had yet to bother looking at the person she had knocked over as she may or may not have been concerned about her homework being stolen by the fiendish wind. She felt bad, but this homework had taken her over five hours to complete. Hopefully, this person would understand.

“Ah!” After securing all the papers in her bag, Masami looked up to see a man staring at her in surprise, and, to be honest, she was looking at him in surprise as well. It was none other than Present Mic! And, beside him, laying on the ground… She had to sweat drop a bit. Why did she have such terrible luck?

It was Eraser Head. Again.

The redundancy was unreal.

“You’re Minamoto Yui!” Present Mic exclaimed, pointing a finger in the girl’s direction. Glancing down at her discarded baseball cap that had been used to hide her face, she couldn’t help but feel a little dismay. But, she could only sigh at herself. She was too careless!

So much for keeping a low profile.

Luckily, there weren’t very many others around, and those who were, didn’t seem to particularly care. Still, Masami glanced around, making sure that nobody had noticed her yet. The only reason she had exited as Yui in the first place was because there’s normally a surge of people that walk through this area around this time. The only reason she had been able to enter the building as Masami was because of the almost nonexistent traffic there had been upon first arriving. If she had been seen exiting as Masami, there was no doubt that there would be quite a few questions to be raised were she to be seen.

“Oh, um, yes, sir!” Standing up at the same time as Aizawa, Masami sent a deep bow his way. She really couldn’t believe that she ran into him a second time today! She felt absolutely horrible about it. “I’m terribly sorry for running into you, sir!”

“Don’t worry about it,” Aizawa sighed. He really wanted to go take a nap now. He had honestly been tempted to just stay on the ground and sleep there, but noooo. That's 'unprofessional.' This was all too troublesome. He didn’t even bother apologizing, either. The accident had been Masami’s fault after all. He was just an innocent bystander.

The two both glanced at Present Mic as he continued to just stand there in a state of shock, his mouth wide open and his finger still pointed in Masami’s direction. Aizawa had to raise a brow at that. Sure, he had heard of Minamoto Yui before, but surely she wasn’t that famous. She just seemed like a normal teenage girl to him. Actually, now that he thought about it… Taking another look at the girl, he couldn’t help but feel that he had met her before. It seemed impossible, but the feeling lingered.

It made him suspicious.

“Are you alright?” Speaking in her typical soft tone, Masami couldn’t help but feel a bit concerned for the blonde haired man. He had been in the same position for the past minute, so she wasn’t sure if he was in shock or not.

“You’re Minamoto Yui.” He repeated a bit dumbly making both Aizawa and Masami raise a brow at him this time.

Was he okay?

“I think we’ve already established that.” Aizawa grumbled but was a bit curious about his friend’s reaction. While he was a bit over the top at time, it wasn’t often that he reacted in such a way.

“Oh!” Masami finally recalled a piece of information that Miyuki had given her earlier. She couldn’t believe that she’d forgotten! “You’re here for a meeting with Miyuki-san, right?”

That was exactly it.

“A-ah, right!” Mic, thankfully, snapped out of his daze at her question. He had been a bit shocked to meet the young singer so randomly. In all honesty, he was a fan of hers, and he found it amazing that she had managed to debut at such a young age. When he was a teenager, all he had time to focus on was school. And even that wore him out! As he shook off his shock, his trademark grin finally settled back onto his face. He couldn’t look like an idiot after all! “I actually came to see about the chance of having you appear on my radio show!”

Masami blinked. She blinked again, her brain trying to process his words. Mic wavered a bit as she paused. Did she not like the idea? No, that wasn't it. In fact, it was quite the opposite. She was just a bit shocked was all. If she heard him properly, he wants to have her on his show. Stars practically bursted into existence around her and her eyes just thinking about the idea.

“I would love to!” Masami had been listening to Present Mic’s radio show since she was a toddler! To be given a chance to actually be on it seemed impossible. And yet here they were. “I’m sure Miyuki-san will agree to it, too!”

It was true, Miyuki would agree to almost anything as long as it involved good publicity. Thankfully, she never took it too far as she still declined quite a few offers if she thought that it could possibly make Masami uncomfortable. Miyuki was basically a capitalist, but at least she was a caring capitalist. Yeah, that's right. Those exist.

"All right! That reassures me quite a bit!" Mic grinned. He had come fully prepared to be sent off with no regards given for his request. So, it came as a relief that Yui herself wanted to be on his show. "Thanks, little listener! I really appreciate it!"

"Thank you!" Masami grinned right back. She couldn't believe that she was actually being given this chance! She felt so blessed. Subtract all the panic attacks, demon chicks, and running into the same person twice, Masami was quite sure that she could actually consider today a fairly decent day. "I look forward to working with you!"

"Likewise!"

"Does this mean we can leave?" The two grinning idiots froze and turned towards the blonde's grumpy companion. At this point, it looked like he would have been all for laying back down on the ground and taking a nap there. He was told that this was going to be quick. If that wasn't true, then he was leaving. It's not like he was needed at the moment anyways.

"Haha, about that..." Mic grinned a bit sheepishly, rubbing the back of his head. He was pretty sure his friend wasn't going to be happy with his response, but it couldn't be helped. "I still have to meet with the little listener's manager in any case. And I don't want to be late either. That would leave a bad impression!"

"Right..." Aizawa was done. He no longer cared.

"Late..."

Something seemed to click in Masami's mind as the word was spoken. She was pretty sure that she was forgetting something. But what? A cold chill went up her back as realization soon dawned on her face.

She was about to be late for work a second time today!

"I'm really sorry about this, but I need to leave, too!" Masami rushed the words out of her mouth, slamming her previously discarded hat back atop her head as she made sure that she hadn't dropped anything else. While she was rushing, she'd really rather not forget or leave anything. Especially if that something could lead to someone finding out her identity. "Grah! I can't believe I'll be late twice!"

Gripping the sides of her head in dramatic and fake agony, she let out a quick goodbye to the two confused men before her. She darted out of there faster than a gazelle being chased by a cheetah as fear gripped her mind. Somehow, after never being late for either of her jobs, she was going to manage being late for both on the same day. Oh, how she was ashamed of herself... And scared for herself. Her other boss was a frightening force. A force that should be reckoned with and feared and loved all at the same time. After all, the woman known as Hinamori Kiyoko was the almighty powerful owner of Melody Café.

And she could kick ass.
